I liked the secure parking ( auto elevator to basement), the large size of the rooms, and the central location as well as a pool. The hotel is hard to navigate to through the narrow one way streets.
I had a double room for single occupancy and it was very spaceous and comfortable. Well situated near the historic centre of Ubeda. The staff were helpful Breakfast not included. No phone in the room. No English Language news channels available on tv.
Hotel was very nice and good value. Restaurant was very poor. Used restaurant for 50th birthday and two people ordered fillet steak, it was the worse steak that I have had in a long time. Puddings also dissapointing, of the 4 fresh puddings on offer 2 were not avaiable. I chose the Temporana fruit which I assumed to be fruit of the season, the witer lead me to believe this would be Melon, Orange, Strawberry etc, but when he came out of the kitchen all he had on a plate was a solitary apple on a plate. I sent it back and had a frozen ice cream. At least we saw the funny side of that but would not recommend the restaurant.
Nice small swimming pool. Spaceous rooms. In the center of the historical city. No one of the staff speaks english, only spanish.
Central location Difficult to locate in very narrow back street, the breakfast was poor
The convenience of this hotel being in the centre of this picturesque city overshadowed the difficulty we experienced in finding it. A well maintained, comfortable hotel with larger than average rooms.
The location was excellent
it has its own underground car park, always useful in Ubeda. No greeting, no welcome pack, no loo rolls in the reception toilets, no spa although it is advertised as having one and they had us booked in the wrong day. It was a special trip for our daughter's engagement and very disappointing.
The food was poor.
Good location. Nice staff explained points of interest in town. Hotel a bit difficult to find by car due to many one-way streets.
Placed inside the Cazorla Natural Area. Good restaurant for dinner (otherwise Arroyo Frio is at 4km) and reasonable buffet for breakfast. Old style decoration of the restaurant (lots of taxidermist work). Limited paths for walking around, while in the middle of the park. Needs a car to go anywhere.4* maybe a bit too much for the quality of the rooms and services offered (for example, the room did not have a bath, only a shower).
Excellent hotel in a very relaxing environment. Very helpful staff and good food at a reasonable price.
Great heated pool The restaurant was not up to par. We arrived after the end of the August holiday and they were kitchen did not seem to be fully operational.
loverly location, clean. we felt that the rooms were a bit small. also breakfast was cold as eggs and bacon had been out for awhile, although we were forst down for breakfast, would have liked more coffee, it would have been nice if someone had spoken abit of english
All staff were very helpful The spa was very old and not at all like the representation in the hotel web site - very very old
silent backdoor place but not enough signs on the main road and if there are any-they have different name (not as on your web ) there is no asphalte road from the main road to the hotel but poor gravel path. The breakfast is poor,no vegetable at all
Hotel is good: nice breakfast buffet, but the village where it is located is awful, it's not a hotel fault but... Noisy room. External air conditioning device too noisy, room air conditioning also too noisy. I expected to be in a mountain resort not in a cheap and crowded beach camp. Next time I'll avoid to stay at 'Arroyo Frio', sorry for the hotel.
It was well situated and the rooms were comfortable. The Spa was good The Gym was appalling and should be updated. The breakfast was rather basic.
Staff very helpfull, good food but not cheap, spa excellent, views stunning,in center of the park.Would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The views were gorgeous. Good food.
Perfect location and excellent spa Room not ready when we arrived, and cannot get coffee ater a meal in the restuarant!! had to go to the cafeteria, also ran out of Tia Maria!!!
The spa facilities are fantastic, but unfortunately it is for an additional price, seemingly a common theme in Spain
Location in amazing landscape, Nice Spa Spa Located outside the hotel , not pleasant while rain
The views from the hotel are fantastic. Wonderful location. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Setting was spectacular in the mountains. Spa facilities were great especially hydrotherapy indoor pool (cost extra but worth it) as was outdoor pool and restaurant. Decor in rooms and common areas felt like hunting lodge.
Location of hotel Parking is a bit of a problem and breakfast not up to standard
The hotel was almost new, very clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel is a little difficuly to find, but this caused only a little problem No
Fantastic hotel, great value for money! If ever again in Ubeda, I would certainly go back.
Staff is extremely helpful and directs you around town really well. Great room with a great view.
The Zenit is an outstanding modern hotel in the middle of the old city center of Ubeda. We stayed in a suite that had a nice view of the pool and the city skyline. The building is very impressive and the rooms are well designed. There is an obvious attention to detail in the rooms. The pool area was nice and the courtyard with the old olive tree beautiful. The hotel was very accommodating of our young children. Finding the hotel was a bit of a difficult, perhaps in part due to street closures from the Renaissance festival. Parking is possible though challenging.
The hotel is attractive and the decor is still in as-new condition. It was very quiet and relaxing (as it was the off-season in Ubeda). Once you got to know the layout of the town it was very easy to get to the main historic sites. The minimalism of the rooms borders on the uncomfortable, even for fans of this style. People with small children would I think find the hotel unattractive. The only major inconveniences are the lack of a hotel car-park or nearby on-street parking, and the warren of narrow streets to be negotiated around the hotel.
The hotel had style yet was in a very cultural town
It was in a lovely part of town, within walking distance of all interesting sights. The staff was friendly and accommodating
Without doubt the best 3 star hotel I´ve stayed in while in Spain. The interior design is simple but highly effective, all the reception were extremely helpful and the level of cleanliness just perfect. This is a fairly new hotel (opened July 2008) and it deserves more publicity. During our stay the hotel was very quiet.
Very central for the tourist attractions, staff friendly and room very spacious and clean. The outdoor pool was a real bonus !
We loved the courtyard of the palace most of all. Extremely beautiful. Also, the bed was extremely comfortable and pleasant. THe bathroom was exceptional and all the amenties were availabel in the bathroom. The parking was very difficult and we had to park th car a very far distance from the hotel. There is no on-site parking.
The Parador is an old manor home which has been renovated beautifully, but still retains the old charm. It is well located in the old section of Ubeda and has an excellent dining room. The rooms are large with roomy baths.
Location in the center of Ubeda old town. Very good restaurant. 1. In the morning the water the water was not hot enough for the shower, it was only slightly warm. 2. Unable to connect to the Wi-Fi Internet: it was password free but required some special set up and the stuff was unable to provide any additional information. Set up is not related to my computer - the day before I was able to connect to Wi-Fi Internet in Parador de Mojacar without any problem
The restaurant had a great menu.
We were very impressed with the building and its location to the historical areas of the town. The rooms were large and comfortable but still retained the old world feel.
The hotel was in a great location and the center courtyard was lovely. The service was non existent. We had to haul our luggage across a cobbled courtyard then up some steep steps to enter the hotel. We asked for assistance and were told that they did not have the staff. Their were few people to serve drinks in the patio. If was easier to go downstairs to the bar and bring it back up yourself. The most egregious problem was with the room. The room did not have a window. Only a door to a inner courtyard that everyone going to their rooms could look into our room from. So we wanted to turn on our air conditioner. It did not do anything but make a sound... no air blew out of it. When we mentioned it when we checked out... the staff said they knew about this. We did not sleep in the hot room.
Dinner in the Restaurant was excellent. Mixed starter for 2 was huge and well worth the €20. could have done with a longer break before the main course arrived.Location perfect for sightseeing.
Central position and historic atmosphere. Excellent restaurant Parking facilities
The inner courtyard is wonderful, and dinner was excellent. It felt rather strange not really having a window, despite the novelty of our door opening onto the beautiful courtyard.
The building has been beautifully adapted to operate as a first rate hotel. The setting in the middle of Ubeda, the quality of attention to detail and the staff care were all excellent. The cost of room service and food was not at a reasonable level.
Beautiful building. Lack of food on the day we arrived Monday, we were not told it was a closing day in the hotel and in the town. I am diabetic and have to eat regularly. We were unable to find anything open.Breakfast offered is a bit basic but that may be the Spanish way.
The sight, the breakfast, the silence The furniture
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location. The cafeteria had two sections, the nearest to the bar being air-conditioned.Unfortunately, this was also the 'smoking area', so if you didn't want the smoke, you had to sit in the heat.
situation and views stayed media pension but found evening meal poor , it did not include a drink and the add on cost for a la carte was rather expensive for 2 people.
The balcony and the views from it. The food was very good Sorry but what we didn't like was the smell in the bathroom and the air conditioning unit on the balcony
We loved the spectacular views from our room and from the terrace. We had some beautifully fresh trout for dinner. We do not speak spanish but all the staff were very helpful and patient with us. Comparing this hotel with similar accommodation in my country (Australia) we thought that it was great value for our money. No
Comfortable No fridge.
Well appointed ,excellent view ,good parking , excellent food and superb restaurant staff Room was very small
The environment The room was not new
Wonderful location, handy for the Parc Natural. Friendly and helpful staff in the cafeteria and restaurant. As with most of Andalucia - driving and not getting lost too often!
we pass on way and stay one night. very good view, nice tarassa, balcon
Well furnished rooms, friendly staff, central location. Excellent value for money Wifi and Internet are overpriced. Hostels and many budget hotels provide free wireless -"better" hotels should do the same.
Location. Parking very difficult. The hotel seems to need a bit of refurbishment.
We were looking for a walking hotel for 30 people for next year but with the lack of parking have booked elsewhere.
Good location, nice village, great scenery. Not sure if this is a 4* or 3* hotel! All the paperwork/menus/invoices said 3* and the rooms, although comfortable, were definately not 4* standard.
Convenient overnight stop. Lack of soundproofing, the shower, the village of Arroyo Frio.
the staff doesn't speak english. poor parking. very poor breakfast, specialky when you don't speak english. you don't know what's on the. menu so they give you toast and butter. no access to computer.
Nice, big room. The breakfast and the hotel restaurant were poor.
Quiet, spacious Reception staff were good. But the staff in the cafe and the restaurant were on the whole quite unhelpful, sullen and the quality of say, breakfast was compared to other hotels mediocre, to say the least.
the setting the balcony glass door was dislocated and the heating system didn't work (it was cold that night)
The staff of this family run hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. We had a delightful room and found the food, prepared in traditional Spanish style, to be very good. We had no negatives whatsoever.
All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating; they are also very knowledgeable about the Sierra and can provide tips regarding where to go and how to get there. Food (Spanish cuisine) is excellent, better than some of the 4 and 5 star hotels where we stayed at on the same trip. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant. We were comfortable speaking to the staff just in Spanish, so we can't really comment on what other languages are spoken. Overall a great value in a great location.
Hotel staff really did their best to inform us on attractive wanderings in the National Parc, visits etc and to make us feel welcome.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of therir way to be welcoming and give ideas for places to visit. The public rooms were charming, very attractive and well furnished. Our bedroom was spacious, well furnished and with a great view from the balcony. The meals were very good value, with a good choice and great service. The best hotel we stayed at in our tour of Spain. No
The staff is excellent. The woman who met us at the front desk particularly gave us some very good information about the region and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The restaurant served good food and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Nothing.
Family run hotel with warm welcome and happy friendly personal service. Room was very comfortable, view superb. We had no guide book, but the daughter speaks English and drew great maps and directed us to great walks of varying length and suggested places to visit helping us see a lot of wildlife and the beautiful accessible scenery of this area. None
It is a lovely family run hotel in a good location, we will definately be visiting again for a longer period of time no
We loved this place! The staff were fantastic! So warm and lovely, really, really nice people. We booked for two days and stayed four we liked it so much. The food in the restaurant was very good and the public areas are very nice. I can't say enough good things about this place as it was the very best place we stayed during our month in Spain. We'd go back in a heartbeat! I don't have one thing bad to say about this place. Put simply, it was perfect for us and we loved it!
Very nice staff, providing excellent recommendations for bars/restaurants/sight seeing and activities in the area. From our room with a roof terrace we had a stunning view into the stars and onto the mountains. The room service was great and very reasonable. We might come back on our next trip to spain. Thanky you
Lovely building with comfortable clean bedrooms, quiet and peaceful yet very well-located. Generous breakfast.
Beautiful building and a great location. The town is lovely and the hotel is right in the middle of it. Booking.com directions were really useful. Air con didn't work that well.
The location and the appearance of the hotel. The location was certainly very noisy on a Friday night - I don't know about other nights.
Friendly staff. Perfect location. Water temperature was very unstable
Excellent hotel right in the centre of a fantastic city. Reception staff were very helpful and the ambience and character of the hotel were great. Really felt like staying in a old palace but with modern facilities. No complaints
Very convenient location in the historic centre of a very pretty town. Bedroom was fine and breakfast OK.
Excellent location and friendly personnel No Inter in the rooms end though it was advertised in their web site. Also, the international in the reception was very weak and working intermittently The water in the shower was either too hot or too cold, I could never make it work properly
Helpful and courteous staff and location in the old town. No
Great location, clean and comfortable Breakfast was a big disappointment. Don't need a big deal -- just good bread and strong coffee (bread was lousy).
Ubeda was a place we wanted to return to - after several years, your hotel was our choice. We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was a good choice, and the location was excellent. Will definitely recommend to friends who consider the city for a visit. nothing was a problem. the front desk staff were pleasant, and very helpful
Closeness to the old city. Good price. Nice room. Free wifi didn't work in the room, but did work in the lobby. Required difficult reconfiguration of DNS to work. Restaurant not open except for breakfast.
The room and hotel in general were beautiful, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful. No one spoke English, but they were very forgiving of my modest abilities with speaking Spanish. Parking was quite difficult, due to the steepness and narrowness of the driveway, but at least they did have private parking (for a fee), so this is a very minor complaint. Another minor annoyance was the requirement to leave the room key with the hotel staff when we left the hotel.
very helpful staff
very friendly staff intermittent power failures during stormy weather outwith the control of the hotel
Newly completed to high standard No tea maker in room
The hotel staff had virtually no English but still made every effort to assist and be understood. The rooms were clean and modern and had a seperate TV seating area.. Breakfast a bit disappointing, you are served from behind the bar rather than a buffet and the staff tended to disappear leaving you with no more than a piece of toast and coffee. The room was clean but there tended to be a drain smell lingering. The room we had was facing the main road and the noise from the local scooter boys was quite high.
It is an excellent hotel: new, clean, in the centre of the city, very nice decorated, the rooms are big and newly furnished.
First class when considering price and expectations. We have no reservations ion recommending this hotel Nothing
I loved the tranquility and peacefullness of the place, the beautiful views and the helpfulness and friendly staff n/a
Fantastic geografical location ( parador lost in the Sierra de Cazorla mountains, far away from any other constructions ), with very nice hiking trails around the hotel. Great breakfast menu, nice wines and good meals.
Fabulously situated in the middle of the Sierra with plenty of good walking on the doorstep. A place to spoil yourself with long walks and long lunches. Although the mountains are cooler, it does suffer from lack of air conditioning at night. Ceiling fans did some good.
this hotel was an average standard hotel in a wonderful location but was undergoing repair work at was most difficult to deal with the workmen statred work at 0830 and finished at 1930. as above, the price charged was not reflected in consideration of the staff for the comfert of the guests
fantastic position river access, nice grounds, goohe d position for acessing the national park breakfast was less than minimal
The sheer character and ambiance of the hotel was almost breathtaking. Obviously a great deal of attention had been done on the various collections of artefacts that adorned the rooms. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the breakfast was minimal to say the least. In fact amounted to no more than a slice of toast and some very bad coffee! Which was shame as a: this hotel is ideally placed for long walks in the area (hardly a good meal to set you off with) and b: it left us on a bit of a negative note on what otherwise would have been a most enjoyable stay.
a beautifully rehabilitated convent in a remarkable scenery. calm during spring, possible to enjoy numerous activities in the area breakfast was a bit light
Ideal place to stay for walks and trips in Sierra Cazorla National Park. Perfect location in a quiet forest, beautiful rooms and interior, very friendly staff. A car required to get to the place and to explore the aprk from the hotel
This hotel was fabulous. It is filled w/charm and comfort. The location is great. Everything was very clean. The beds/linens were the most comfortable during our entire trip in Spain. The lobby was very nice, with an adjoining library. The room was well sized and very nicely furnished. The bathroom was clean, modern and well sized, with a full sized tub/shower. The complimentary toiletries were extremely nice. Each room has a different theme. The high quality hand-picked furnishings and decor throughout the entire hotel makes it a very special place to stay.
great accomodation. Lovely hotel. Very comfortable. Easy parking.
This is a lovely small hotel in a perfect location to explore the old quarter of Ubeda. It is fairly new and is clearly well taken care of. My room was large and very attractively furnished, with a very modern bathroom and excellent shower. The bed was really comfortable. The room, as well as the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean. The attendants were helpful with taxis and directions.
Splendid themed rooms, friendly staff and central location
I'd like the style of the hotel. The position was excellent. Parking was not very easy close to the hotel but you could find some space in a distance of 100 to 200 hundred meters. People of the hotel were very friendly and try to help us in everything. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Free WiFi Internet, People of the hotel should speak more English
This was a very pleasant hotel with very friendly staff.
Hotel comfortable and stylish; very well located to visit the historic town of Ubedes and others nearby. Variety of shops nearby ; also bars and resturants (but latter very quite out of season)
Very chic - a welcome surprise Friendly, helpful staff
Good breakfast. Located in a convenient place in the town Cazorla. Seemingly, the wi-fi did not reach all the rooms in the hotel.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff (family run); central to Cazorla; good value No
This was our second stay at the hotel, and would still reccomend the hotel to anyone with out reservasion.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. It was really excellent value.
Very friendly staff, very helpfull when there were problems with the parking lot assigment. Nicely located in the middle of the town. The heating was not on and the room was icecold the first night, later the heating was put on only in the evening, which was not sufficient to heat up the room with near freezing temperatures outside...
A nice, simple and clean hotel. Friendly and eager to help staff Staff mostly did not speak English and communication was limited.
This is a family run hotel. Pedro and his daughter Mercedes keep it spotlessly clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been modernised to a very high standard, with a lovely walk in shower. The location is right in the centre of Cazorla where you can choose a number of bustling squares to have a coffee or dinner and immerse yourself in the true Spanish way of life.
Convenient small, quiet hotel recently refurbished to a high standard. Friendly and helpful staff, owner and daughter we presume.
Good breakfast, nice room, free internet, good staff. Good location in middle of town.
Breakfast was too scanty for us, but on the other hand it was very tasty.
