The hotel was extremely clean and the family-run staff were friendly. The Salema beach was very clean and I recommend spending a day there. The beds were very uncomfortable. At night (2am) it is very loud outside the hotel with people talking outside the bar and noise travels directly into your room, no matter which floor you are on. Lack of carpeting and insulation means you can here a pin drop from the floor above you.
next to beach and choice of restaurants, gorgeous breakfasts, good air con, all rooms seem to have sea view, small rooms, but comfy, even smaller bathrooms but adequate
We stayed at this hotel 2 nights. The hotel is located perfectly at the beautiful beach. There are several good restaurants nearby. The hotel personal is very helpful, experienced and friendly. However, mostly it is lication, location, location!!!
Position relative to the beach. View from bedroom windows. Restuarant next door- excellent food. Difficulty finding parking space.
the rooms and the location close to beach and restaurants nothing
Very nice people. Not a big city but enough pleaces to go when your there. Nice and peacefull. Excellent service of the hotel.
The view and friendliness of the staff it caters for Brits, and this reflected in the type of breakfast - instant coffee!, typical english corn-flake type cereals, etc
In a word, location. Facing a beautiful beach in an unspoiled Algarve village, with some great restaurants close by. Modest rooms with few amenities. No wi-fi.
Relaxed efficient management - calm friendly ambiance
While we were vacationing in Spain we took an over-night trip to Portugal. The views from the room were beautiful We actually had such a great time and were so impressed with the Spa and services that when we got back to Spain we recommended Parque Da Floresta to acquaintances who were also staying at the same hotel in Spain and they went for a couple of days. There was no blow dryer in the room, a minor inconvenience.
The setting--beautiful, rolling hills in the western Algarve. The staff--friendly, professional, with a "can do" attitude. The villa--enormous, clean, well-equipped with every kitchen amenity and several gorgeous balconies. The pool and spa area was beautiful and large. I could go on about how amazing this place was, but essentially it was the highlight of our entire trip to Portugal! They didn't provide any shampoo or soaps, but this was a minor point as most of the guests there stay for longer periods so therefore probably bring their own.
great villa,a home away from home
This is an excellent resort, we had a 3 bedroom villa, which was spacious and very well equiped including a microwave, hairdryer, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconys etc. The pool was fantastic with lots of loungers, there are several restaurants on the resort and the spa was amazing, offering all the usual treatments to a very high standard. The golf course looked amazing. On the whole no, but you really do need to have a car. Reception is about a mile from the villas, Lagos is approx 12 miles and Sagres 15. But there is more than enough to keep you amused within the resort
the villas were serviced to a very high standard and were very clean
Peace and quiet. Space. Pools and Sun Loungers
Beautiful views, gorgeous golf course and very good gym facilities. Close to amazing restaurants all for a lower cost than being in Lagos. The staff were extremely helpful as well, and spoke perfect English for us to communicate effectively! I liked everything, but think that they should improve the description of the rooms. For a very low cost, we received an entire bedroom 3 bath Villa that was gorgeous, and I am sure more people would book if they knew what superior value it was to bring a family there. They also don't advertise how close to the towns and beach they are (5 mins) which was a plus, as it wasn't crowded.
Plenty of facilities. Not too crowded. Nice heated pool with panoramic view of Budens Lack of parasolls at the round pool.
The view from the villa. Upon arrival at the Quinta Da Encosta Velha Resort, reception staff informed us that they did not have the accommodation which we had booked with booking.com ie 3 bedroomed deluxe villa. However they wanted to 'upgrade' my family to a luxury villa with a private pool. They failed to tell us however, that the villa was about 5 miles away from civilisation across a dirt-track road on the side of a mountain. We arrived in 35 degree heat after travelling for 8 hours, and discovered that the nearest shop was miles away. Therefore as we had arrived by taxi, we were abandoned in a remote area without basics such as water and food. Reception staff did not provide any 'induction' information or advise that a car was essential.
spacious well appointed town house with fabulous roof terrace. Good facilities at Parque de Floresta (5 min car journey). stairs everywhere - in the town house, to the town house, round the resort - not toddler/buggy friendly. Also we went May half term yet all facilities in this part of the resort were closed and you had to go to Parque de Floresta - car imperative! There is child friendly pool behind restaurant complex (shut) but pools in accommodation area all 2m+ depth. Excellent child's pool at PdeF but need to pay to access.
Excellent apartment and services. Really superb arrangement. Please provide some additional indications to make easier to reach it.
