Nice large room. Good breakfast. Inconvenient garage set-up, around back of hotel and paying in and out. The TV set was too complicated and no clear directions in the room as to how to operate. One of 2 TV's did not work properly.
great location, and the hotel had lovely big, clean rooms. This hotel is not really aimed at tourists. Recpt staff couldn't really help with organising travels around the area. Seemed to have poor local knowledge. This meant that although the building was 4 star, the experience wasn't...
Very good breakfast, great location, big room and in a nice medium sized town.
This is really just a business hotel which I would be happy to stay in if away on business - Not somewhere I would recommend for a vacation - Nothing really stood out as exceptional The hotel has an environmentally friendly policy which meant it was impossible to get the water any hotter than luke warm and if you wanted you room cleaned and towels changed you had to specifically request this The shower curtain was about 6 inches too short, which meant that the bathroom floor got soaked every time you had a shower
Good location( close to station and town) with lovely seaviews from good sized balcony. Comfortable chairs on balcony.Attractive spacious foyer. Large spacious rooms with good sized flat screen TV.Large bathroom and thick good sized towels.Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms were stark with no extra comforts. No clock/ radio or little extras that you would expect from this category hotel. Large hanging space but few hangers(3) (requested more but never came) No drawer space. Bathroom large but no shelves or space for toliet bags!Tolietries were poor, (little plastic sachets of shampoo,no creams) so did not make you feel inclined to visit spa. Great views in foyer areas but breakfast room was at back with high windows so no view! Breakfast ok but certainly not gourmet!
We liked breakfast best. The buffet had a good variety and we were served fresh fruit beverages with our coffee. The staff at the wellness centre was unhelpful. The facilities were at a standard that we would expect at a three star hotel but not a four star.
Beautiful hotel in a lovely location, not far to walk for ferry or train station. Very good value for money compared to so many others.
bright room we asked by the internet booking an extra bed for our child, but the reception said their was enough place for the children (3) to sleep in a double bed. A little bit crowdy. We had selected the hotel because they had an indoor swimmingpool. But unfortunatly it was only open between 10-12.30 and 16.30-21.00. We would have liked swimming before breakfast or during the "siesta". Also it was rediculous that only 1 towel was given for the morning and the evening for the swimmingpool.
The very well equiped rooms and the high quality of breakfast.
Modern clean hotel in very good location. Bar not staffed continuously during the evening. Gave up waiting at one point.
The convenience to the train station. Nothing. It met my needs.
Friendly helpful staff, the convenient location as we were catching trains, room size was good. breakfast was not as good as other 3 star hotels we have stayed at, but adequate
I've been to this hotel twice already. It's a good location to simply sleep and shower. Very basic but clean. Walking distance to port. The hotel needs to upgrade its wifi service. It's non existent. You can only pick up the signal in the lobby.
Functional place within metres of the train station - worked well for us. Some of the furnishings are needlessly cheap (eg. plastic chairs, shower screens), but it works.
Great location - very close to the train station and town center. Parking in the area is very expensive - take the train if possible
Great location near train station and on pedestrian street. Close to car rental. Wif only in lobby.
The proximity to the Railway Station and to the main street of Salerno and eating places.
Location was very convienient , rooms were clean, a little dated Desk clerk was not friendly or helpful at check in...but did not ruin our stay
Close to everything; fantastic breakfast; nice view of piazza; large room and bathroom, large and comfortable bed; attractive and elegant decor; balcony, common area and wi-fi; lively and friendly atmosphere in area around the hotel The traffic noise from the buses and train station made it difficult to have the balcony doors open, but the view was lovely so it was worthwhile; strong smell of cigarette smoke in room next to us late at night and early in morning
Very good location, close to train/bus station, easy for reaching points of interest. Courteous staff. A little overpriced
Hotel has fantastic location across from train station and bus access. Also, on street with no autos and great shopping.
It's centrally located to the Salerno train station and Salerno port to the amalfi coast. You use this hotel to simply drop off your luggage, sleep and showrrz Hotel wifi is non existent. The interior could use a new paint job and carpet. It's an older hotel. Don't expect luxury.
Views Size of room . Even de luxe was very small
The views from the hotel
The a la carte Restaurant - Poor quality of food - not 5 star at all! met several guests commenting on it.
staff assistance was excellent lack of beds at the pool and a games room would have been good and in order to use the spa facilities you had to pay €20 per visit per person yet it was advertised as a facility of the hotel !
Excellent spa Restaurant staff were awful - they were slow and brought us the wrong things, dropped things on the floor and were generally unhelpful. We were put in a room in a block that was not yet finished without any terrace/balcony or view at all
Good position with nice views and very comfortable hotel. Staff frendly Diapointed size of supeiror room. Lots of extra charges ie shuttle bus/newspaper/in room internet/massage usage ect
Everything is excellent from when we arrive until when we leave.Location is very good, we could enjoy beautiful view from room, everywhere in the hotel. Dinner OK, but not every night. You better try outside restaurant, too. Cheapeer and same level as hotel. Breakfast is good, food, service, no problem at all. Shuttle service is good, driver took us to town when we request. Coming back, he came punctually on time to pick us up. If you can understand Italian language, it's better as you will be in Italy. Of course staff's English is OK, but you have to be accustomed to catch Italian English. If your communication ability is OK, you can enjoy your stay. We love to come back again. Nothing at all.
Super friendly staff, Weddings, weddings, weddings
staff were excellent. facilities were amazing and location was superb.
The spectacular view and the pool. When we arrived at the hotel, there was nobody to help us with our surcases, so I had to transfer them by myself. For two continuing days the housekeepers forgot to prepare our room and they did it very late (8.00 pm) after our complains.
hotel not 4 stars
Pretty nice hotel. Beautiful. Not far from the sea. Rooms with balcony are very nice and spacious. We were at a special price and satisfied. Rooms are very different. Those that with balcony, very nice and spacious. But there are very small ones. Beach near the hotel costs 10 euros per person and is open only until 18.00. Free beach is two kilometers from the hotel.
The hotel staff was very service minded, helpfull and friendly. The restaurant food was tasty. The bed in our junior suite was way too hard. It almost felt like sleeping on a wooden plank. Because of this I woke up several times at night, and it was not good for my neck and back (I'm 26 years old). The location as OK, but we had to take a 20 min taxi ride to the city every night.
good free parking, rooms made clean daily 1) jacuzzi is not a whirpol but just an upgraded tub --> only suitable for 1 person; 2) very far from the centre --> car necessary at all times; 3) booking.com says satellite TV, but no international TV channels (BBC, TVE, CNN,..) are available, only italian channels available and pay films; 4) from half sept approx. the beach and swimming pool close to the hotel (both pay) are closed; 5) breakfast was one of the poorest we experienced in our trip through Italy (bacon and omelete always cold and tasteless), especially when you consider that it's a 4-star hotel; 6) bike rental, as booking.com offers, is not possible at the hotel
The hotel accepts pets and has on site parking both of which are free of charge. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is a bit away from the city center so it's better for those traveling with a car..
only the size of the room, only one member of the team of the hotel, who is working in the restaurant. The restaurant (outside) was very nice. Tis is the only part of the hotel where you feel like you in a four star hotel. the elevators and the floor are more than dirty!!!!!
This was our most relaxing stay during more than three weeks' travel around Italy. The setting was lovely after many inner-city stays. Staff in the restaurant were especially good. Needs new carpets, a trivial point for an otherwise pleasant ambience.
Location, price, friendliness of staff. Even rebooked for my return trip.
friendly staff and very helpful.
breakfast!!! do you expect to make your own bed in a 4 star hotel and have to go to reception 4 times to get sheets, towels, glasses because the phone didn't freaking work!!!!
Room was beautiful but the bed was surprisingly uncomfortable. The staff in the restaurant were unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. Visited the restaurant twice and the experience was consistent both times. The rest of the staff were amazing, however. We loved the ladies at the front desk and the bag boy.
It's a nice and new built hotel with lots of opportunities towards the future. Contrary to what is mentioned on the site this hotel doesn't have a swimming pool or welness area yet, they still need to build it...as we were travelling by car it was no issue for us but the situation of the hotel is not so great for tourists as such as it's situated in an industrial area, unless you booked the hotel to visit Ikea which is situated next door...
This area needed a new four star hotel , it is Ideal for business people having to travel to Solofra during the day The breakfast was not good enough for a 4 star .
The rooms were very clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The wait staff in the morning were terrific The area did not offer anything. And you really needed a car to get around. I would have liked brouchures/details on tours and shuttles offerings.
Was a very modern place. super clean, but just another typical business kinda place. Sky TV was good. Breakfast is good, had bacon!! the americano coffee at breakfast!! order from the waiter!
Hotel staff was very friendly and was always ready to help you.
Hotel was clean and staff were nice but car is absolutely needed as there're almost no busses passing by the hotel and hotel is 20 mts away from Salerno center by car there was no curtain around the bath so you had to take a bath cuz if you took a douche the bathroom looked like a swimmingpool after that.
The friendly atmosphere and excellent service. Our hotel room was not only modern, spotless and very comfortable but also big and roomy. The buffet breakfast was impressive - very good choice - and excellent quality but would also recommend the restaurant. The meals were superb.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel was near the University, convenient for my business trip. The ventilator in bathrooms was not functioning due to a problem in the whole building throughout my weekly stay.
I liked that there was cable TV with interchangeable language options. The staff weren't very efficient in terms of service.
Hotel staff was very helpful: even the hotelmanager checked if everything was to our needs. Free parking, next to autostrada (but you don't have any noise. You need transportation to visit Salerno, Paestum...
Fabulous Hotel , Great , Efficient and Friendly staff . Felt as if at home in my own personal villa . Great , healthy and fresh food , superbly prepared by what seems to be your personal chef . Great contemporary design , but not pretentious or uncomfortable like most "boutique" hotels. Brilliant relaxing place and real value for money unlike most tourist traps on Amalfi Coast which are overly expensive tourist traps. beautiful roof top pool and garden terrace. There was nothing I did not like about this hotel ,except the spa bath would not drain and the hot and cold mixer was plumbed back to front.
Very nice hotel; attentive staff. I think every maid should be instructed to detect clogged drains, so the guests wouldn't have to complain themselves.
I like how much information was provided regarding tours and transportation in the area. Having a shuttle to take you to the center of town was great and the drivers were all nice. Breakfast in the morning was a plus. The first night, a sliding door that separated two sides of my room got stuck, locking me in from the exit. It took a lot to get the door out and I had to change rooms. Then the sheets in the new room had been washed in detergent with a strong scent (which was a first for me regarding hotels) that made me nauseated. I couldn't sleep in the bed. I was given a bottle of champagne for the troubles, but I felt a refund on that night would have been much more appropriate given it was terrible all around. Also, the lounge restaurant menu leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't change for lunch and dinner. Also, they charge you 3 euros for the cover that was on the table during the free breakfast. When I was asked if I wanted water, I wasn't told that I was buying a whole bottle of it for 3,50 euros. Additionally, everywhere else I ate for prices like that, they served some small dessert-like snack after the meal and offered limoncello at no extra charge. Here, nothing. I ate at a expensive restaurant in Le Sirenuse and didn't pay for the cloth covering the table. I learned why I didn't see people eating there for dinner. While I liked the hotel in general and the rest of my stay, I wouldn't stay there again if I go back to the Amalfi Coast, which I plan to do in a couple of years.
This was my favorite stay on the Amalfi. It's a great place to relax and still be able to do day trips if you have a car. The customer service is outstanding, the breakfast is great, and the beds are really comfortable. Enjoy! Nothing!
The hotel staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable I did not like the idea that all air-conditioning was set at 23 in the rooms and could not be altered
Convenient, quiet, with integrated services and very polite staff, it is an ideal choise for business purposes No
The hotel is excellent! An amazing value for money. You have to have a car though to move around.
This is the nicest holiday inn I have ever stayed at. It was very clean, modern and comfortable. The rooms were large and well designed. You could even choose between soft and hard pillows!! It was convenient for a motorway stopover but not sure I would stay there on holiday as not in the nicest of locations.
The rooms were modern, extremely confortable and very clean. The bed in particular was very confortable. Staff was kind and polite. Unfortunately it is near a motorway even if, thanks to double glazing, no noise problems. Pity for the view!
location lack of amenities
The hotel is new, luxurious and very clean. There is a private parking place too.
Very nice staff. Good location. Very nice building. Free underground parking.Very good food at hotel restaurant. Average breakfast.
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Excellent value for money in a charming athmosphere.
The staff was extremly kind and we really enjoyed the cleanliness of the room and the atmosphere of the hotel.Breakfast was excellent and the hotel is a real 4 star.A nice surprise!!! No
It is an old hotel but very well kept up. They upgraded us to a small suite with a welcome bowl of fruit. The staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions and bus schedules. Walking distance from the train station in Cava de Terinni which is a ten minute train ride north of the Salerno train station. The best value we had in Italy. we liked everything
This is an old, well kept building. Spacious, well decorated rooms. Free Wi-fi and parking. Close to the train station, very central hotel. This hotel can also serve as a basis for Salerno town-it is close especially if you have a car. Friendly staff although not all of them english speaking.
the rooms were large and comfortable. the staff was very helpful the shower was not good enaugh
Very good hotel and very friendly forthcoming staff. The room got cleaned twice a day (second time when I had dinner). Underground car park and restaurant with reasonable prices, without any atmosphere though. None.
We were given a very comfortable room and treated very well by the staff. The hotel is very convenient to shopping and restaurants in this town which, while close to the Amalfi Coast provides a sane refuge from the touristic craziness there.
Central to were we wanted to be. The breakfast was very poor. For a city which is renowned for good food, it was quite a disappointment.
Very central hotel right beside the historic centre of the town and a perfect doorway to many of the attractions of teh Amalfi coast to the South and Naples to the north. The employees were very helpful and friendly and spoke good english. Also they have car parking on - site which is great as it seemed very difficult to find somewhere on the street on the Saturday we were there. Hotel car park is not very easy to find - it's and underground witht ht e entrance on the left as you face the hotel, but there are some one - way systems ion place ariound this busy area. Also there's no lift from the car park to the lobby so you have to walk out the way you come in with your luggage. Having said that the hotel staf were will assist with luggage if you go to reception first.
Noisy, inattentive wait staff, I will not stay at this hotel ever again.
The private functions hosted by the hotel made us guests feel as though we were imposing on their business instead of being made to feel welcome.
The room was large and very neat and clean. We struggled to locate the hotel.
located sea side. Great sea view from rooms. included breakfast buffet wasnt very impressive Location is pretty far from salerno centre.
The hotel itself was clean and seemed to have reasonable facilities. Private parking a big thumbs up. Staff - unfortunately we spoke to a receptionist who seemed to know nothing about the town! It is also far out from the lively centre though apparently close to the train station
They had a nice patio to sit on - but we were not allowed to because it was closed. The view was beautiful, but we did not have our on balcony to sit on to enjoy It's location was about 10 km outside of the nice area of Salerno. The neighborhood was terrible, dirty, with a lot of litter and scary people wandering around. No place to eat close by.
Its a very nice Hotel for summer vacations, nice view, very comfortable rooms, on the beach, some small restaurants nearby, parking. Far from the city centre. If you go by car you will have a large problem of parking to the city centre, if you dont have a car you cannot go on foot, either by taxi (too expensive) but you can use the buses. If you dont care about the city centre it is the best Hotel.
I'm annoyed by street noise through window. even though when the window closed.
gate locked at 1100 pm had to walk forever to get back in . riduculous. did not speak english at desk all night . . tried to be accomadating . beach very far down hill .. did not go. . needs some decorating . pool needed some cleaning .otherwise a nice stay . gate closes too early . beach too far down hill .
Very poor breakfast
This is a fine hotel with an excellent location and an excellent view over the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Salerno. It is easily accessable from the main highway and close to the interesting town of Vietri sul Mare. There was a problem with other noisy guests. When the staff were made aware of this problem, they took action and corrected the situation. We appreciated their efforts.
The Hotel has a Million-Dollar-View, which we enjoyed every day. It is located at the seaside with a 5 minute walk into the picturesque tourist town. The room was comfortable for 4 people with a great veranda. The breakfast was typically South Italien: Only sweets! Not a single savory item to be found on the scarce buffet. Hint: Change towels only if they are thrown onto the floor. Safes lots...
The view The breakfast is poor for scandinavian
next to the beach and the center, kind staff shower very small and nothing to put the shampoo
The hotel Bristol has a good location, near from a bus stop. However, its employees are not so polite.
Excellent view of the Amalfi, staff was very friendly and helpful.
The view over the medireranean The sevice was awful. When we asked for a 2nd key or to make any changes we were jsut told "No". No attempt to help us. The room towels were just large tea towels. In the evening there was no hot water and when we asked if this was likley to always be the case we were just met with a shrug. This is a hotel were every expense is spared. Even at breakfast when the food runs out early intead of filling the bowl the waiter bring out 1 croissante! A hotel run by bad tempered misers. The internet is only available in the non air conditioned reception and is of very poor quality. This is a 1 star hotel and nothing like the pictures on your web site.
The view, the staff's attitude, location.
great views from all the rooms... facilities in the room pretty good staff were not very friendly... breakfasts were quite poor... structure and paintwork of the hotel in quite poor condition
Great room, fantastic seaside view. We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
The view from the balcony was amazing and you can hear the water and waves all day and night which is very relaxing The hotel is old and run down. Window was broken and the door frame seemed like it was about to fall apart. There is only 1 chair in the room so only one person can sit on the balcony at one time. It would have been nice if they put 2 chairs and a small table to enjoy the only good thing this hotel has to offer. Getting to the hotel is near impossible if you don't have a car. The taxi's are hard to come by and they cost 15-20 euro for just a 5 minute ride anywhere. It's 20-30 euro for a taxi to Salerno. It's a 20 min walk uphill to the closest bus station that only cost 1 euro to get to Salerno. They seem to only rent scooters when they are "in season" which would have been the best way to get around but with no scooter it's not easy.
Convience to city and train station
Wonderful Location and beautiful view. Clean and confortable. Still a bit of renawal to do.Not so near Vietri centre.
away from main roads and town, yet easy to walk to town (arrived there just in time for the evening passiagata--wonderful experience), very peaceful, really enjoyed the balcony, close to good seafood restaurants, nice breakfast
Amazing view. Very friendly staff. Location to main beach (only 3 min. walk). Cleanliness. Good restaurant. Overall a wonderful stay.
Clean, modern, great view, good location Staff pretty unhelpful, especially as I tried to communicate in (albeit broken) Italian. They claimed there was no iron we could use and forced me to pay for someone to do it. It turned out there was a laundry room on our floor I could have quite easily used. Little things like that can really make a difference to someone's experience of a hotel.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, located right on the ocean with a private beach below.
Great view of the sea Location is not the most convenient for train or ferries - a long walk or 20 euro taxi to the ferry terminal.
The room was very comfortable and spacious (we had a triple room) and the hotel's location is perfect: not too far away from the shops or the train station (transport links are great!) but not too close to the somewhat busy city centre. Also, there are plenty of places around to eat (McDonald's across the street, but do try to find little Italian restaurants like Ristorante Harry's just around the corner behind the hotel, amazing food!). The staff was great and very friendly (especially Eliana at the reception!). Breakfast was nice with good variety, but more savoury things would be a plus. There is free wi-fi all over the hotel. We loved our stay and would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone! Nothing, we loved everything!
We like very much our staying at this hotel...it was intimate, very clean by all means, close to the beach and all kind of shops you want... the personal was helpfull, discreet, pleasant...we will come come back for sure
Staff atitude, the room was spacious and very clean, good espreso at breakfast (beside the regular coffee available) a little too noisy, difficult to sleep with the windows open
Good staff Hard bed, noisy, breakfast was all carbs, need more protein and fruit.
Excellent professional staff, friendly. The hotel is clean and the cappucino for breakfast first class.
The people were oustanding. The service, the care and the location were excellent. A real hidden Gem and a great location to use as a base to venture to Pompei, Paestum & the Amalfi Coast.
What I liked about the Hotel was the location and the scenery, very relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant.
Nice and quiet environment. Good service, ample rooms and nice decor outside the city.
The friendliness of the staff and the location of the hotel. Of course the restaurant is an excellent one. I highly recommend it. It is not suitable for winter stay. The room was heated by air condition which was insufficient.
Villa Rizzo was perfect - friendly staff, beautiful location, and great accommodations. Drinking a bottle of wine (from the estate!) on a terrace by the pool, overlooking the valley, was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip. Nothing!
Visiting Vesuvious and exploring the local area by bike. There was a fantastic, fun and cheap family restaraunt close by called Masseria Della Fontana Vecchia Di Mazza near San Cipriano Picentino. There is no indoor pool, the spa cost €60 per day extra and it was really difficult to find the hotel.
Nice villa, nice staff, nice owner
We absolutely loved the hotel, the staff and the family (including the animals). The only thing that could improve the rooms would be a kettle and tray of coffee/tea facilities.
