Pros: Friendly staff and very interesting building. A wine tour was offered to us ,in English, and was excellent.
Cons: Local function taking place during our stay so very busy.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff.
Pros: Brilliant breakfast
Pros: Great breakfast and fantastic location
Cons: Nothing could have been better. It was all perfect.
Pros: We have stayed a few times as it is a good stop when we drive to UK & back to Spain & is pet friendly. This time we requested ice cubes & was was told there would be a charge !!
Cons: Restaurant is good food but under staffed as our table wasn’t cleared !!
Pros: This is the 4th time we have stayed here on route from Santander/Bilbao to the Costa del Sol and everytime it gets better. The rooms are outstanding, the food and wine are both excellent and the location is lovely. We only wish it had a swimming pool after a three hour drive in the sunshine from Bilbao.
Cons: Not a lot- lack of swimming pool
Pros: Fabulous! So unique. Reasonably priced wine. Fascinating design.
Pros: It was one of the quirkiest hotels we have stayed in - the hotel lived up to all expectations and the wine was fabulous too
Cons: Could have had more vegetarian choices on the tapas menu
Pros: Rooms are very quirky and finished to a high standard. Breakfast was very nice, good choice of meats, cheeses, fruit and pastries. We stayed at this hotel with friends a few weeks earlier and had enjoyed our visit so decided to stay again on our way to Santander to catch the ferry home.
Cons: During our previous visit we dined at the hotel on two evenings and were very impressed - we were looking forward to a repeat. Unfortunately however there was a misunderstanding with our order. We were presented with one steak and a side order of chips to share. We explained this was incorrect as we had ordered two steaks with chips to share. We suggested that we eat this meal whilst waiting for the second to be cooked. When the second steak came it was still a little too rare so we asked for it to be cooked a bit more. On receiving it for the second time, on a cold plate, as indeed all the plates had been, the original chips by this time nearly cold, we decided to carry on and eat it. This turned out to be a mistake. When we had finished our meal we pointed out that we were not happy with the service or the quality of the food. We were informed 'you have eaten it, so you must pay'. We asked to speak to the duty manager, but the response was the same. We were not refusing to pay for the food, but were complaining about the service and quality. The manager did not seem to accept there had even been a problem and we did not even receive an apology. With hindsight we should have refused to accept the first meal and waited for the two meals to be served together as you would expect. Unfortunately this recent experience has tainted our view of the hotel and I am not sure that we will return or recommend it to others. What a shame as it is a stunning hotel in a lovely area.
