Very clean and staff good. Don't expect a full english, but for a quick cereal or sausage sandwich it's ideal.
Helpful and curteous staff. Standard of decor and cleanliness of the room/hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and replenished without having to ask for more. Overall very good value for money.
convenience, price and location the breakfast was not good, but for the price we paid it was probably what we should expect
Convenient A bit jaded. Needs a bit of a revamp to bring it up to speed.
everything was simple; check in quick and room clean and warm, breakfast good and bar on hand. Nothing was difficult or trouble for the staff who were all very friendly, convenient location Nothing - first time here but will definitely return as a halfway point for long drives
Convienient Noise of the M6 which could only be 500 metres away! Due to noise of motorway you could not open your window so it was extremely stuffy in the room. We opened ours and put up with the constant drone of heavy traffic.
The breakfast area was too cold to sit in comfortably. The breakfast was limited to continental only.
Easy reach of motorway Very badly stocked bar
Drinks extremely expensive.
The staff were very friendly, the hotel is in a good location and is very clean. Excellent venue for business visits. Road noise can be bad if in a room near the M6.
Excellent value for money, lovely room, and very helpful and friendly staff
very impressed by the warm welcome to my wife and family on arrival. Food was excellent. Generally very comfotable & friendly hotel. would have preferred a swimming pool on site. Otherwise can't fault the hotel.
lovely situation beside the canal.Good restaurant, nice place no
The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is in a quiet placE that also gives you the chance to walk around. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the service in the restaurant including the food was great. I would have liked if the room was bigger and if there were more luxuries in the bathroom as to get the value of the money that were spent.
The pleasantness and helpfulness of the staff Nothing to dislike
Everything absolutely excellent, reasonably priced and very nice bar food.
The restaurant was first class
The surroundings The menu needs to have more variety
The room was large, beds very comfortable, pub was adjoining hotel Nothing
Comfortable room, well equipped, friendly staff. Very good value for money. Meal very good but too much and took too long. Service a little amateurish.
It was comfortable and efficient. The staff were pleasant and the price was just about acceptable
Room clean, spacious & quiet which is what I needed! Swift checkin at 2pm. The score of fair for the room, was purely due to a little bit of a drainage smell in the bathroom, bath tub tiny although I managed! No digital tv channels only 1-5.
Helpful staff, clean room Old tv with only analogue channels
Waking up and going home
Nice big rooms - all the basics Shower gel run out on one night
Overall the hotel was ok, but 2days after my stay I received an £80.00 parking fine and at my cost to a premium rate line I managed to clear this up! As an individual who regularly needs to stay at your establishments through my company business I suggest you find a way to resolve these issues. So as you can imagine I was far from pleased.
Clean and quick check Fire alarm going off at 3 am which ruined my nights sleep, caused by "very sensitive smoke detectors" triggered by receptionist kettle.
Friendly greeting at reception on arrival. Dirty toilet in bathroom.
Staff were friendly enough.Comfortable bed. Good shower. Location was handy. Only place with rooms at the time. We paid £15 for two breakfast's but the receptionist forgot to give us a token so we had to pay £21 for a full english and continental (rip off!!) but was only refunded the £15. Only one set of towels and two coffee sachets for two people. No freeview channels and no phone in room to call reception. If you just need a room for one night it's ideal, just avoid eating on the services.
The attentiveness of all staff at the hotel - nothing was too much trouble No complaints whatsoever
the locaction is excellent, staff very friendly, will be back again
Lovely large room and bathroom with particularly efficient shower. Very comfortable bed and sitting facilities.
The lovely restaurant supervisor at breakfast (I think she was Spanish?). She had the most fantastic customer service attitude, and nothing was too much trouble. A real hard working smiling face.
All staff were helpful and friendly....
Character and central location Having to pay for internet access- decided to wait untill my next destination to access my emails
Quality of rooms and bars Loud musak in Bars and dining room. No real ale
Service was excellent and all the staff very friendly
Staff were friendly and efficient and the room was lovely; comfortablke, spotlessly clean and full of character. We arrived late evening, so we especially enjoyed having pre-dinnner drink in comfy surroundings before a delicious dinner at the excellent restaurant. We were there for only one night but are already talking about when we might return for a longer stay
The all atmosphere was good I was very dissapointed in the breakfast, we was down for breakfast at eight and had to tell the waitress at 8.25 that we needed to order breakfast as we were on business, We was late for business and this did not please me.
Great atmosphere, beautiful interior especially reception and bar area. Top marks on value for money.
It didnt seem very professional, there was an air of not careing.
cleanliness. The window can't be closed. During the night, I eared wind, noise of moving windows, and lorries in front of my room at 6:00 the morning; Only 5 poor TV channel including 2 bad quality of reception. Never there in the future ! For 55 pounds a night, without breakfast !
The staff were helpful and friendly. Location was good. Decor was nice. The shower was permanently on scalding and it was impossible to actually get under the shower at all. General smell of smoke in the common areas was unpleasant.
the room wasn't cleaned properly, empty toilet roll under the sink and what looked like mouthwash all over the sink and shelf. i didn't like the fact that the towels were just thrown on the chair in bedroom and that we had to hunt for the pillows for the bed which were found in the wardrobe. the hairdryer became too hot to hold after only a couple of minutes use and the temperature on the shower couldn't be decreased so i had to resort to having a bath. the shower i did report to the reception staff when we left.
The room was good and obviously been cleaned very well. Tea/coffee fine, hairdrier/iron etc. good. The standard of breakfast was very poor. I had scrambled eggs and bacon on bread. Bacon under cooked, scrambled egg over cooked and tasteless. Toast poor quality bread and soggy. Definately not worth £10. I sent most of it back.Did not reflect the rest of the hotel.
Convenient location. Accommodating staff. Comfortable room, although I understand a refurbishment is imminent.Breakfasts were very good and cheerfully served!
Good location, staff helpful, rooms were clean and although functions were on in the hotel there was no disturbance/noise in the room. The hotel was excellent and did not deserve adverse comments.
We have stayed at the Roman Way on a number of occasions. On our last visit we were disappointed in the standards, this was just after the hotel had been taken over. However on this occasion we felt there had been a lot of improvements in cleanliness and comfort.
Staff and convenience. The room needed updating and decorating.
Comfortable bed in a decent size room. The thing that impressed most was the young lads serving evening meals in the bar were happy smiling and had a little chat unlike some of their age today. Well done to them. The large key fobs were noisy when locking or unlocking the room doors.
The large comfatable bedrooms and the very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Also liked the bar/ dining room very relaxed and friendly.
The Breakfast service on the day I stayed was attrocious! All the breakfast plates were still left on the tables. There were only 6 people in the restaurant, but the people following myself didnt have a prepared table to sit at. I have also stayed at this hotel before when the service has been impecable
The hotel staff are amazingly friendly and helpful! Arrived at hotel on the Friday night and was attending a party at the local golf course when I asked the gentleman behind reception if there was a local taxi service he kindly offered to give me a lift himself in his own car! When checking out the next morning I was met by the hotel staff with great help and a great warm friendly smile! Was fab to have staff who would go beyond the line of duty. Unfortunately the tv didn't work for some reason I think properly the aerial connection!
I was really impressed, as a lone business traveller, at the warm welcome, helpfulness of staff (even offered to get a bucket of luke warm water to assist in defrosting my car windscreen) and the food was wonderful - I would not hesitate to recommend. When coming up the country lane in the dark a bigger Hotel Car Park sign is needed.
Staff were pleasant and helpful
Staff I encountered were pleasant, polite and co-operative. Unphased by my changing mind in dining room Hotel bedroom a bit tired. Only one small towel in bedroom. Top floor bath fittings loose and insufficient hot water flow or temperature. More an observation than complaint, the web info said last room available but I overheard a walk-in book a room - and breakfast was not that busy.
The distance from the activity we were travelling to do. The breakfast seemed to have a lot of variety and was in a buffet style and hot. We tried to make a reseveration on arrival for the following night and after doing so were sent to two different rooms which were not made up. We then asked the reception if it would be easier if we went for a drink as we did not want to keep going to rooms which were not ready for us. We arrived at around 4.30pm. We got into our room and it seemed pleasant and clean. We then found it difficult to order room service, after having the phone hung up on us we finally managed to order and on arrival to the room we were not given the correct cutlery to eat with. No soup spoon and only one fork and knife between us. The food was ok, but the time taken to order this and going from phoning reception to the room service number was very frustrating.
Good internet access. Comfortable bed. Nice big room. Room service was prompt and okay. Tv a bit fuzzy Room a bit drafty - windows not double glazed so had to have curtains closed. Room a bit dated. Woken a few times during the night - noisy guests - but also everytime corridor door shut, bedroom door banged a little.
attitude of reception staff, as it was before 2pm when we arrived, the television was not even plugged in, when we plugged it in we found it was not working due to the ariel wire being broken, the bathroom needed refurbishment as the paper was hanging off the ceiling and did not feel very clean overall
Close to where I needed to be the following day on business. Comfortable - been before and know to expect good value and excellent staff service and attention. Breakfast included is a bonus.
Staff very helpfull nothing
facilities, i.e. pool, jacuzzi breakfast
Helpful receptionist Had requested non-smoking for both rooms but one room had to be changed as it was a smoking room and the smell of smoke was extremely noticeable.
pleasant surroundings, the hotel is located away from the road. Staff were very efficient and helpful. Nice lounge & bar. Didn't get a chance to use leisure facilities, I'm afraid. soft bed; room was a bit cold; bathroom seemed a bit institutional & flush didn't work properly; carpet in the room very old with burn mark
Friendly, obliging staff. Despite being on the A5, the hotel is restful and surrounded by rural views, and wild-life right outside your window, (from mine I saw pheasant, rabbits, and watched a mole scuttling along, only to be swooped upon by a kestrel. A great place to get the city out of your hair.) If only breakfast was served a little longer. Say, 07;15 to 09:00 rather than 08:30. As I was staying for leisure purposes, I wasn't too keen on having to set my alarm, only to find the fried egg yolks have gone hard as I stroll in at 08:29. (my own fault. The breakfast was otherwise perfect.)
Lack of staff on reception, quality of room was not what was expected for the price paid
Helpfulness and friendlyness of the staff not applicable
The staff where really miserable, couldn't even be bothered to say hello when we arrive or goodbye when we left, we felt we where a bit of an inconvience. The breakfast waitress had the same attitude.
Staff took on board our comments regarding the drawback of our room and promisede to sort it out, as wee arrived late e=in the evening it wqas too late for us to change rooms. Ther wqas a wedding celebration being held there, but we did not have any noise interferenece whatsoever. Have used hotel before and still will - but will check bed first when arrive !! Unfortunately the bed in room 5 we had was higher at the foot end than the head end, and my wife did not sleep at all well.Reported to staff on leaving the hotel.
comfy room, excellent food and friendly staff nothing!!
The breakfast! Help yourself and nothing was too much trouble, thank you Norma for the extra tea/coffee/milk. The fact that we as a party, had to use the bar, which guests at a wedding were using, as opposed to having a single member of staff running the other bar in the main reception for the use of non wedding guests.
good polite service
Good restaurant which was very good value. Appreciated secure parking. Pleasant service. On our journey to Glasgow we stayed at another hotel in Kendal for nearly twice the rate and half the value!
The breakfast was very good. It finished a bit too early for a Sunday morning though. There was a strange brown sludge around the base of the toilet handle in our room (I think we were in room 2).
I liked the location it was easy to visit the city for shopping and relatives who live near by. The pool was lovely and my husband used the gym. The reception staff were very helpfull and friendly. My husband and I found the room a little too dark. We struggled to see the controlls for the air con and joked that we should have brought a torch. We loved the wet room and the shower head but as I am quite short it would have been usefull to have a shower cap provided.
Friendly helpful staff
Great room, very clean, well finished Busy reception with a number of people waiting to check in; only one receptionist.
Very efficent booking online and everything confirmed well and reception staff were very efficient explaining breakfast, eating establishments and directions etc. Could do with toiletries in the room, bar of soap, flannel etc.
Nice staff and wonderful Breakfast!!! Also, had a lovely evening meal in the Shire Horse which is a lovely "old style" inn just next door.
The hotel staff were very helpful in finding us a room with early check in. We were impressed with the staff at the pub attached. Someone had taken the time to really stress customer service to them. The food was excellent and the room very comfortable after a days conference at Keele University. None.
The comfortable bed! No complaints
Room was excellent - large, clean and comfortable. Adjacent pub had really friendly staff and excellent food both at dinner and breakfast - a real find, would definitley return
Smily face when we arrived very wet from walking 80 yards from 24 hour pay and display car park ( hotel one closed) to be given a ticket to take back to car. She was also efficient at necessary room change though smile wore thin when, in the morning, I reported a second room maintenance issue for the benefit of future guests. The bed as usual in Premier Inns was very comfortable. Very very noisy bathroom fan which was clearly faulty but we were immediately offered a room change. Despite the previous recommendations for the Shire Horse next door which was excellent in ambiance we both had a terrible thirst all night long after our meals. In my opinion there are better Premier Inns locally.
The location was good to visit Stafford centre, the rooms were very clean and well stocked with clean linen and towels.. Also, the tea and coffee in room was welcomed. The breakfast times are not acceptable for people who are on holiday, it mainly caters for business people who need to be out on the road before 9 am. We were told we must be finished breakfast by 9am and indeed everything was cleared on the dot at 9am. We occupied 2 rooms and paid in excess of £350 for 2/3 nights with young baby. If you are on holiday this is not the place to stay with a family as you have to plan to rise very early if you want breakfast.
Premier Inn Stafford was as a hotel in good nick, no damage clean and tidy with non hotel facilities close to hand Brewsters Fayre restuarant was poorly managed with such high throughput of custom in the evening.
Friendly helpful staff, close proximity to the Shire Horse Pub for meals and drinks etc
Friendly staff Hot tap water - too hot - suggest limiter to avoid scalding by old and young and also to save resources. Door handle on ensuite came off! Very slow service in restaurant Saturday evening and breakfast Sunday - good meals when received.
You placed the beds for my kids in areas that kept a good flow in the room.
Clean room, Cheap and friendly staff. Tv remote didn't work. No free Wifi.
Easy to find off M6. Warm friendly reception staff. Comfortable and clean room. Big car park, and could park close to hotel. Had a good night's sleep. Enough towels. Prefer a shower with a movable hose to a fixed one, but that is a small point. Also, liquid soap dispensers may be a problem for older people with arthritic hands.
Reception staff are very very informative and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and for a budget hotel was very good value for money.
Location and helpful staff.
good size rooms / bathroom
A very friendly welcome. Service and quality of food in restaurant excellent. Service at the bar could have been better.
The gym, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, breakfast was very good too. It was not possible to obtain a drink from the bar when I checked in at midnight, though this is late, availablity of light refreshments and a drink would be a real benefit for the business traveller.
pleasant and helpful staff ...front desk too long await for food after order placed pleasant and polite staff in dinning room but inexperienced
the gym, the welcome needs a refurb , room was shabby, ceilings and carpets stained, bathroom tired
It was in a good countryside location, ideal for walking the dogs at Cannock Chase and close to Cannock Hockey Club where our son was playing. The nightclub on the Saturday night was very loud and there was a lot of shouting and banging doors in the corridor well after midnight. We were apparently unlucky to have been put on that side of the hotel!
Great setting. Top value for money. I usually stay in b & b for financial reasons, but this was 3* hotel for b & b price. I have stayed in less attractive four star hotels.
Good parking, clean and friendly staff. Easy access to visitor attractions. Proximity to noisy venue (Halloween Party), under staffed at breakfast, especially when a large number of guests arrive at the same time.
It was all good and could not find fault
The bathroom was good but there was something wrong with the floor very uneven about it for a disabled bathroom
Nice friendly staff, late check in no problem and excelent breakfast.
Restraunt closed no evening meal no breakfast.noise from building work woke me up early
Convenient restuarant adjacent with good food at reasonable prices. Very convenient to the location I was visiting on business. Great breakfasts ! The "hospitality tray" was a bit meagre.
Room clean & tidy with tea/coffee etc. Staff booking in pleasant & professional. Morning - grab & go breakfast. No cups so I grabbed a croissant, but did not have a drink & still paid full price!
Very convenient location, helpful staff, reliable standard of accommodation. The claim about offer of room for £29.00 is a bit confusing -
the size of the room, helpfullness of staff and closeness of restaurant Very nosiy late at night was woken up several times
Room was very comfortable, once I found out to book it at Premier Inn on line not looking for hotels it was fine. Could have been vacuumed properly as there were nail clippings on the carpet.
The bed a bathroom were to an exellent standard. Limited supply of tea bags and milk cartons.
No noise, parking breakfast facilities lack of adiquate tea & coffee etc
