Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Nothing.... Everything was to the standard we were expecting.
the design of the rooms we booked online for 3 people for $239 and when we went to the counter she charged us $274est and didnt have a reason why.I feel like we were trying to be ripped off
Easy to access with covered drive-in entry and valet parking. Friendly efficient staff. There was a discrepancy at checkout but this was rectified. The room booked sleeps 3 with the booking clearly stating the price is for 3. I was originally charged extra. They claimed that the on line site was misleading. While the 3rd bed was made up there was no extra towel, blanket or cutlery for the third person. Low level lighting with no makeup lighting. Would still stay there again.
the location was great - such a short walkf from Central Station. The place was nice and tidy and cosy and the staff at the bar were very friendly. one of the towels were soiled that was fiven to us as a new one.. and the surrounding pool area wasnt very clean. Also the treadmill at the gym wasnt working and there wasnt enough ventilation in the room.
staff were friendly, helpful. room was clean and tidy. close to central station so easy to get around. the pillows were abit on the hard side.. other than that was good.
Cheap tariff. Very comfortable bed. Easy to drive to from Canberra. Very handy to airport. Relatively easy access to bus service to City. Flexible about check-out time (11am was fine with them).
The Ibis Budget Hotel is close to the airport and there are a lot of fast food restaurants nearby. You can park in front of the hotel for 15$ per night. If you're taking a shower the whole floor of the bathroom gets wet, very inconvenient. There were a lot of ants in our room, but we got a new room with the same problem. I recommend to stay only one night if you really have to.
close to airport and very quite actually
Quite close to the airport Small room the fire alarm ringed at 5am
It's very convenient to the Sydney airport; otherwise nothing too special. If you just want somewhere to stay before an early flight, it fits the bill, though staying near Central Station or Redfern would be almost as convenient. They really nickel-and-dime you: charging for wifi, for breakfast ($12 is way too much for what they provide, even in Sydney) and charging for a shuttle for the airport. I hate it when hotels do that.
Very convenient to Airport we only stayed one night more than happy to stay again, compact room, helpful staff.
Convenience to SYD airport Walls too thin. Able to hear everyone else using their toilets all through the night.
At least it is clean Too many Staff was rude and incompetent - gave me the wrong room number n key card A silly design in shower causes false fire alarm easily Bed is not fixed but on wheels Make sure you have the right rate as one for day and one for overnight
Close to airport The room and bathroom needed a good cleaning. Room was minuscule , bed and pillow disappointing and hallway dark dingy and dirty. Glad I couldn't sleep and went to eat at mcdonalds.
My room smelled, was tiny, and there was no privacy out my window which faced across the parking lot to a busy Krispy creme.
Checking out! Room was small like a prison cell. Beds are metal framed. Bathroom is tiny. tv is very old and chained to the wall! There is no hair dryer, no iron (except in laundry room on ground floor), no toiletries, no kettle. Wifi is very expensive. Only rubbishy fast food outlets nearby. They charge a ridiculous $6 aud one way for shuttle bus - you can walk to the domestic terminal, it takes 5 minutes.
no coffee/tea facilities, no toiletries, very poor standard, very basic, not what was expected. Only good side was convenience to airport.
Mainly the location and the fact that there was parking eventhough it was a bit tight for medium size sedans and anythig bigger The meals were budget and reflected as much in the flavor
Clean, quiet and safe (close to police station). Staff weren't very friendly. Do not refill soaps every day. Location is not good (about 15 minutes from the central station). Although it was our honeymoon we did not get even a congratulation card (and was suggested to purchase an upgrade in full price). Breakfast was very poor.
Very nice hotel, rooms were very nice. Friendly staff and very helpfull. I would certainly recommend this hotel. The second and third level have a pool area, this can be quite loud.
It has the perfect location, close to everything, we can even view a part of the Sydbey Opera house from our balcony. Everything you need is just a few minutes walk away. All in all it was great.
The reservation of priceline was not in the system in the hotel. Only after the good staff at the hotel we could get our room
Quiet. Had a lanai. comfortable. Narrow halls and not a user friendly lift
Location was great, hotel was clean, very nice room, better than I thought, I booked a twin but got 2 queen beds, was a beautiful room was next to the staff laundry or tea room or something which was very loud on sat morning
good service and very friendly staff no
The proximity to all sydney has to offer. The staff were very helpful.
The room was a good size, compared to other hotels I have stayed in. A good size bath. Bar fridge, desk with business chair, lounge chaise. Quiet. Friendly staff. Shop downstairs to buy snacks etc. Bed was a little bit hard. No swipe card entry to building after hours. Have to buzz.
This place is very easy to get to (Train, Car), The service is excellent. Rooms are clean and spacious. The Breakfast was top of the line. The TV in the room could be a little bigger :D
Room comfortable and clean, although a bit on the small side, no fan in the bathroom, mirror fogs up, I liked having a balcony Reception very slow, not sure if not enough staff or too many people checking in/out at the same time, parking system rather clunky, ie having to get card validated before being able to exit the carpark, as reception was busy, this took nearly 15 minutes
courteous staff, quick check-in,reasonable food and clean room ,well appointed no newspaper offered
The room was the best we have stayed in for years. Value for money - it is going to be hard to beat.
Very friendly staff and comfortable bed & pillows
We were upgraded to a LOft room. However the Airconditioning was very hot upstair where we slept and a lot cooler downstairs. Facilities and parking were great and checkin process and staff. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy your breakfast or any meals. Seee above
Availability of a room on a busy weekend at a reasonable rate. No, I have stayed there before on several occasions.
We were pleasantly suprised and have decided to utilise it more often instead of staying at more expensive hotels right in the city. Very handy, clean, convenient & quiet.
We went to sydney for nrl grand final the hotel is situated with stops for main bus routes outside the front door which proved very convenient.Access to transport to the city is also 200 metres away. For any events at anz stadium you wouldnt get a better spot.
Staff were good and helpful. I did not like the location at all. It is not suitable for people on holiday, Even though it was close to the train, which is good. It just takes to long to get around. The location has no attraction whatsoever.
The pool was great had it all to myself which was even better for laps. the room was comfortable and clean and they changed all the towels for the next day great service.
The facilities where great - the receptionist at check in was not very friendly spoke to everybody but did not acknowledge me untill she handed the key, you can't get room service if you happen to forget to leave your breakfast menu at your front door and we booked the Superior Suite for our anniversary but felt like or in comparison to Hiloday Inn rooms this one is a Standard room.
1. The staff, particularly those at the Reception desk, were always helpful, friendly, courteous and professional. 2. It is a well-run hotel, with happy staff. 3. Good food served in the restaurant and room service. 1. The lack of lift access from the Reception lobby to the rooms in the same wing. 2. There was a major discrepancy between the superior suite I had booked through booking.com and the standard room which the hotel had in their record of my booking. I was happy with the way the staff resolved this problem. I have drawn this to the attention of the Manager - you must not allow this sort of misrepresentation to continue!
I thought the room was clean, tidy and pretty well set out, I thought being at the front of the building I would get noise from passing traffic or late night revellers from the Castle Tavern but to my surprise it was extremely quiet so top marks there. A small thing really but I didn't like the sofa it was too small and very uncomfortable when trying to watch TV.
Very relaxed environment no
As we were staying a few days it was great to have a suite as more like a home away from home. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
very nice beautiful gardens not enough parking for hotel guests when functions are on
The proximity to transport was great.
The fact it was close to the city. The staff were great and the breakfast was great too.
The hotel was in a good location. I could walk to any attraction that I wanted or walk to the train station which was right across the street. The view from the roof-top pool was really amazing. I did not think it would be that good. The breakfast at the bar was above average; however, it was pricey. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. You could sit and people watch. Overall, the hotel was average for the price. Their cleanliness was slightly above average. If you book this you will not be disappointed. I did not like the bathroom. They do not show a good picture of the bathroom for a good reason. The shower has a glass enclosure that runs only half the length of the shower. The floor of the shower is only recessed by no more than a 1/4 inch for the rest of the floor. So, what does mean? Water would go everywhere. The floor seemed to be continually wet. However, they would come in and clean it every morning. They had to or I would have been thoroughly annoyed.
Good location near central station and transport facilities, shops and bars.
New room was great Price for new year stay, on going renovation
central location, free internet (3 hrs/day), clean modern rooms would have preferred wifi in rooms, only ethernet broadband available
convienience to everything restaurant & bar not open sun nights , little difficult with kids to find a place to eat & have a drink, other than chinese / macdonalds
very convinient location front desk was under staffed during our stay. waited for 15 minutes to check-out
Being able to get around the city without to much hussle. Having coffee and something to eat without going to far away from the hotle. The one day of rain but it did not slow us down that much.
The lovely big bed and the movies Sauna was not accessible
Handy to railway station, markets, china town The floor was wet because people came in dripping from the rain outside, ramp was very slippery almost slid over.
Proximity from NSWU none
Lovely old heritage building and period furniture added to the charm. Rooms were very clean with the added touch of small kitchen facilities.
Quiet, relaxing, easy to deal with, comfortable
The hotel receptionist I believe was called George went out of his way to help u's with a late check out and kept our bags safe as we were not flying until late that evening. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful and is a credit to the hotel.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating of late check out Taxi took 1 hour to arrive at hotel and found a stray hair in the bed
Ambience and location
Location close to public transport to Bondi Junction shopping and a short ride, distance and time, to the airport.
cost and location parking
It was our honeymoon and it was close to our reception and it was in a classic style.
Close proximity to shops, transport and Coogee Beach. Room size was small, no parking facilities and well over priced.
The buffet breakfast was good value, excellent presentation, and the Lachlan restaurant, as recommended by the motel, was great the beds were very, very firm. the shower heads in two of our bathrooms failed to stay upright, making use difficult. there were no hand towels in the bathrooms
Because of the holiday it was OK, but may be noisy otherwise.
Clean room, friendly staff, ideal location on this occasion
Easy and free carparking. Decent sized rooms and helplful staff
It was cheap but provided all services I needed. The TV did not work
The young man who checked us in on Tuesday night was extremely courteous and friendly. It was good to be able to have a buffet breakfast the next morning.
Location near Macqarie university, and shopping centre with good travel connections; hotel pleasant quiet location and unpretentious. Ability to have something to eat outside breakfast time. But i may be wrong about this as my exits/arrivals were at variable times. However I do not think it is good value at full rack rate.
Closeness to Northern Suburbs eg Pennant Hills Unexpected $5 charge for car parking. No parking in front of room.
close to where i needed to go. the room felt unclean. I didnt do enough resaerch about hotel
A warning needs to be given to customers that intend on using the delivery service for in-room dining. I was told an amount for my food when I placed the order, when the delivery guy came to the door he demanded I pay an extra $10.00, as I was in the room on my own at the time I reluctantly paid what he requested. In future I will pay via credit card to ensure the correct amount is paid, otherwise my word against the delivery drivers. The food was quite nice, even though it was very expensive..
The breakfast was ok and i was very thankful that i had only booked for one night and not any longer. The room was decorated in a 1960 style and was awful to say the least. the combined shower and toilet were so little that you could not close the door and use the washbasin. The TV waqs so old that you could not read the words written on it or the control.
Close and convenient to where we needed to go, Concord Hospital. Very noisy, traffic and other people staying at Motel during the night.
It was conviently located to where I needed to go.
The location & accessability The restaurant was closed during our stay, as was room service. Breakfast was below standard, especially for the price. These are the main two reasons this hotel received a lower score on comfort & services.
it was easy to find and close to acer arena. the cleanliness of the room was very poor.
close to where I was working No fresh air or ability to get some air into the room with ho fan or air conditioning and a locked door and window to outside
Quiet and satisfactory for our needs. Run down in some respects, loose railings on stairs and in need of a revamp.
needs refurbishing and up-grading of gardens and general maintenance - persons in room next door had radio on loudly from 5.00 am
the pool the bed and the tv, they're old.
The reception man new the area very well and answered our questions quickly and thoroughly. In the bathroom, the idea of the soap, cream, shaving foam, sower gel, shampoo and conditioner being in the dispenser is great, though I might have think in todays day and age, using censers would be more appropriate and guest friendly. Also, the bed was sooooooo comfortable!! Firstly, the smell of the two rooms when we entered was not pleasant at all, on smelt like smoke even though it wasn't a smoking room and the other room smelt stale and musky. Secondly, the couch was very sunken and uncomfortable. Lastly, the bathroom is much too small for comfort and ability to move!
The late checkout Proximity to restaurants/cafes Size of room The view out the window The cost of the buffet and a la carte menu at the restaurant
bay view (you need to pay extra for that), you can walk on the long beach terrible cleaning, very old hotel needs a major renovation, common corridors and the room is smelling.
The proximity of the hotel to the Sydney airport. The $250 price tag per night was very excessive. Will stay at cheaper hotel in future. Hotel interior needs upgrading especially the carpets. No access to the fitness area or indoor pool unless we paid extra money. This was not specified when I made the booking.
The Restaurants & Cafes in the Area are great, the people in them understand customer service & great food. The room looked run down & is need of a refurbishment, the bed was saggy, the TVs too small, the carpet was worn in sections & the overall cleanliss of the Hotel needs to be addressed post haste. For the price we paid, we were not impressed at all. The Bar staff, especially the Duty Manager on Saturday afternoon, were not friendly & appeared to be disinterested in the customers. We paid for a Bay View Suite, but all we saw without going onto the Balcony, was the Unit blocks accross the road. Very disappointed overall!
the staff were excellent!! the gaming room/bar staff made our stay extremely pleasant and the front desk staff were very helpfull and always carrying a beautiful welcoming smile :) these members of your team are a credit to you. thank you no hash browns at brecki!!! just kidding the food, staff, rooms, view were great!! would definately come back!!
Very nice Yes,no pick up the dinner platte, the dirty dishers stay in the all way all night, not so good
View of the Airport and Botany Bay, nice restaurants nearby. Good breakfast buffet. Having to pay for extra for parking after paying for the room. Most hotels provide this as an inclusion. Need a display of the accomodation which demonstrates which room you are actually going to get, (similar to when booking seating at a venue, or for rooms on ship cruises) allows for more informed choice. The following two questions should not be multiple choice, it is more complicated than that. Let me just say that the hotel ranked among the more expensive for really no better facilities, it relies on location rather than service. I have stayed at better hotels, for example in Noosa Heads, where the location and rooms are far superior yet the price is far more reasonable.I would suggest that unless it is the 13th or 14th flor, $250 max
the hotel staff as usual were excellent, the rooms are great I have stayed in this hotel before and always found it to be of the highest quaility, this time ther was was ono mini bar I found this strange and disappointing for a hotel of this stature
The room I was assigned had old, broken furniture; there were candy wrappers behind the armoire; a cup of candy treats left in there from the previous guests; a dead cockroach in the corner; broken toilet paper holder; beds were overused and way too soft; the entire room was run down ad disgusting.
Great location for a stop over, lovely beach, excellent pool very convenient for airport.
There is one lady who is extreamly mean at the reception. I was very upset to her since she didn't want to tell me how to get to the airport by bus and train. I saw her smoking in front of locker place during her work time. It was my last day in Sydney and she made me feel real terrible.
The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the railway station an city bus stop. Room (deluxe) was realy nice and clean, but too small. There is also a loundry and a lounge area, where you can prepare your own food. The hotel entrance is not nice.
very cute boutique type hotel, modern rooms, great position for market shopping the unique combination of older style building with modern style
It's location in the city was what I liked best
washroom is quite clean and look nice..the hotel is in town, easy to travel around. Its very small hotel and hardly notice from the road.
The close proximity to city centre and transport systems. Easy access to restaurants. Security system employed by the hotel especially after 10pm. Being near the city centre noise was inevitable but was very intrusive at times. Shouting and screaming by young people leaving clubs in the early hours was a problem most nights. Work on a tower block across George Street was also a problem after the Easter break had finished.
The location of the hotel and the staff
The staff was EXCELLENT! Every person I interacted with at the desk was professional, friendly, and helpful. I think the lounge is over another restaurant and the aromas from that restaurant were a bit strong. But that was MINOR compared to the location, staff, cleanliness and interesting architecture of the bldg.
not much tv shower view (another wall) no draws or chairs small bathroom sink but nowhere to put your toiletries.excessive outside noise.
Reasonable location - good bus connections Extremely basic accommodation for a "boutique" hotel. Room was single size with double bed
Handy for transport very close to Central station, monorail, bus routes. Walking distance to Darling Harbour - good shopping nearby. A little noisy, especially from the cafe/bar area but this did not detract from our stay.
