This traditional village house features heated rooms with a private bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries. The on-site restaurant offers a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Nature Reserve is around 10 minutes away by car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Some people have rated this rural guest house as a gem.....and in fact, yes it is. And very much so thanks to the owner Jesus, who is 100 % opposite to Basil in Fawlty Tower. And the cooking....yum! Ok, the room was lacking a bit, but is nicely fitting in with the whole concept.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was excellent. Angel, the owner, was charming and very helpful. The 'tour' of the lovely house and all the information he gave us made it really friendly, welcoming and interesting.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very kind, helpful and made this stay very special. Very quite and peaceful location. Ideal for a weekend away from the daily stress
Cons: There is nothing that I would have needed. It was very much perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal for us as this place is out of the way. We were treated to a genuine Spain meal by our hosts served on the terrace overlooking a valley full of olive trees - the scenery was spectacular. The food was amazing and the sangria’s superb. Our hosts were attentive and helpful.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere and excellent service and very kindlief people who nows how to run an rural hotel .
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you wish to experience true rural andalusian home - we recommend it wholeheartedly. In our extensive travels we have rarely met a host with such a genuine interest in satisfying clients' needs and friendly advice. Angel, the 4th family generation owner of the property, made fantastic conversion of rural house into small oasis of hospitality. We used El Jaraiz as a basis for exploring nearby Natural Park of Sierras de Cazorla and Segura and famous andalusian towns and villages, and Angel shortlisted for us best villages and castles to visit and best natural trails (7-hours trail to the source of Rio Borosa was outstanding). Driving on winding roads of surrounding Sierras was very picturesque and fun. Athough we speak little Spanish, and Angel did not speak a lot of English, it was not a problem for communication as we used other languages, "esperanto" and electronic oral translation. The house itself is tastefully decorated with antiquities and rustic items and very well kept and clean. We stayed 4 nights in a big room with a cinematographic view over village square. Beds were comfortable, and bathroom was very well equipped as well. At night there was no external noise at all. Spanish breakfasts were prepared from fresh ingredients and tasty, view on surrounding hills from breakfast terrace was superb. Home restaurant prepared authentic dishes on advance order with local recipes - high quality cuisine, presentation and reasonably priced. One day we'll definitely return to El Jaraiz, that become one of our best memories of Andalusia. Muchas gracias, Angel!
Cons: There was nothing negative for us, but you have to understand that this is genuine rustic house - with some authentic doors too narrow and low, and some stairs steps too high for modern standards. But it is part of its charm. And bathroom planning, although as good as possibly could be done, is made within the restrictions of old country house. Some noises from neighbor villagers could be heard ocassionally, but it quickly stops and never disturbs. All in all, we enjoyed our stay a lot in this beautiful old house with an outstandingly caring host. Obviously, to get there and around you'll need a car or a bike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional service. Renovated old house that kept it's essential charm.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little place in the hills with delightful hosts, lovely food and a peaceful ambience. Not great weather for our visit but if you are after an antidote to a busy world, this is it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The attention of Angel to help us make the most of our stay.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness. The views from the terrace where we had dinner, which was really good. The relaxed atmosphere of the whole casa.
Cons: It is a very beautiful but old casa and very rustic. The height of the doors and stairs were a bit challenging for my husband and some of the steps were quite dimly lit.
Apartamentos Sierra De Segura - Segura de la Sierra - Bedroom
2
9.2 Excellent (468 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Apartamentos Sierra de Segura places you in the heart of Segura de la Sierra, steps from Sierra de Segura and 5 minutes by foot from Segura Castle. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, new, excellent location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is bigger than it looks in the photos. The view from the balcony is incredible. The location is great and the free parking down the street is convenient. The people at reception are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The double bed was a little uncomfortable and small for a couple. The kitchen lacked counter space and pantry storage. We missed having an oven, and we would have liked more dish towels.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Accomodation and view from large balcony
Cons: A barbeque would have been nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and views.
Cons: Dusty roadworks in the street out front.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location on edge of village yet close to everything. Fabulous views from sunny balcony. Newly decorated and equipped. Decent bathroom (shower cubicle, not bath) with heating and bidet. Immaculately clean. Good sized room wih big wardrobe. Kindly switched our booking from double room to studio, as not clear before booking that room did not include kitchenette facility.
Cons: Reception unattended although we arrived within timeslot. Had to phone and wait 5-10 mins to sign in. Minimal food preparation surface - a board over the sink would have helped a lot. Only a low coffee table, not comfortable to eat. Normal height table & chairs would be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host who was very friendly and helpful. Clean apartment with great views. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Cons: No kettle
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Top location at the entrance to the old town, so easy access and parking, and easy walking to shops etc
Cons: There were a few little things missing, no bread knife, kettle, or mugs (only small coffee cups) which as English we would have liked, but I guess Spanish don't drink tea or mugs of coffee for breakfast so it is probably just us.
El Mirador de Messía de Leiva - Segura de la Sierra - Building
3
9.2 Excellent (273 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was incredible! Super clean and big with the amazing bathtub in the middle of the room and 3 large windows with the views of all of the mountains and nature below. Beautifully decorated. Couldn't ask for more! The room alone was worth the trip. Amazingly low price and the quality of a 5* hotel! The village is really special located on the top of a mountain and this room is at the highest point of the village (only the castle is higher) with amazing views of the entire natural park. The sunset from the village is amazing! The castle is beautifully preserved and interesting to visit.
Cons: Unfortunately the village is quite empty. Very limited choice of restaurants and there are only 2 very small convenience stores and no supermarket. Hopefully more tourists will visit this special village in the future!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, great room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and views from the room were incredible. The property was restored to the highest standard. We stayed in the Royal Suite which was fabulous. I have never had a bath with such a stunning view before.
Cons: Very limited options for breakfast in the town and no kettle was provided in the room. However there was a fridge. The restaurant associated with the property is excellent but the covers are limited so it is essential to reserve a table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, amazing decoration and furniture. Totally recommended to disconnect from the stress and the pollution.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very tastefully decorated "junior suite", well furnished and equipped (e.g., mini bar; hairdryer) and impressive attention to detail. Staff are clearly and rightfully very proud of the accommodation. Lovely views. Very peaceful and dark at night, so a good night's sleep is practically guaranteed.
Cons: I wish there had been a balcony to sit out on for an evening drink. The associated restaurant provided media raciones (half-size portions) as I was travelling alone, which was great, but smaller tapas servings would be even better.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room is clearly new, with good wiring and lighting and a well-set-up bathroom. Not huge, but big enough for us and our suitcases. We were on a five-week trip, so we did have two large suitcases, plus carry-ons and backpacks.
Cons: If you don’t speak Spanish and are expecting a hotel in the traditional sense, this is not a hotel for you. When we had a Spanish interlocutor, things went well. If we tried to do something ourselves, things did not go well. It was clear that the person at check-in, who was also managing the bar, was frustrated by the fact that we did not understand Spanish, although he went with us in our car to show us where the parking was. During the time that we were there, the room was made up only once, I think because someone helped us to pass on a request to the owner. To give them the benefit of the doubt, we have also stayed in extended-stay hotels where it is the practice that rooms are not cleaned daily, but that is normally stated up front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: If you can't speak Spanish it's quite difficult. However this does not influence the amazing experience at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The shower and the views from the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was amazing, the people were friendly and the food in the restaurant was fantastic!
Cons: It would have been nice if there was a cafe close by for breakfast etc.
Las Casas de Nani - Beas de Segura - Building
4
9.2 Excellent (67 reviews)
Overview
Las Casas de Nani offers well-equipped accommodation set in the centre of Beas de Segura, 50 metres from the town’s main square. These apartments feature free Wi-Fi and private terraces. The Nani offers bright décor and spacious accommodation. Each air-conditioned apartment has a kitchen, seating area with a TV, as well as double and twin bedrooms. All have a private bathroom. The complex offers views of the surrounding countryside and overlooks olive groves and forests. Local activities include cycling and hiking, while the Sierra de Cazorla Mountains and Tranco Lake can be reached in an hour, by car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is on the edge of Hornos but the town is so small it might as well be in the center. Our room had good views over the hills to the rear with the castle to the side. Beds firm and comfortable. Ample parking next to the hotel and beside the small park. The restaurant on the ground floor serves excellent pizzas.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartments are located at the edge of Hornos village. It's a very short walk to the centre from which there is a wonderful view of the valley and the lake. Our apartment (just a room and a bathroom) was small, but adequate for a stopover. We really enjoyed the bar and restaurant under the apartments. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was typical of the area, generous and great value.
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy parking. Friendly staff. Wonderful location. Excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended.
Cons: Only one plug in room and no bin
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner and staff were very helpful and kind during my entire visit. The location in the center of Hornos is outstanding, and the in-house bar/restaurant is very good and operates at all hours.
Cons: Tends to be a bit noisy because of the downstairs restaurant - but pretty moderate.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place in a small mountain village. We found parking spots right in front of the house. Rooms were comfortable and fitted our needs perfectly. Highly recommend having dinner in the downstairs pizzeria; awesome pizza and service.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: For everybody who is interested in staying at a cozy apartment while walking around chilled-out Hornos or doing some tours around. I recommend motorcycling through the valley of Sierra der Cazorla. Restaurant has also nice food and the open chimney is really a great thing to sit at. Very much recommended, although the room may not be too spacious. Mine had also a nice balcony with a view of the castle.
Cons: In the night there was some noise from the lower restaurant, but still ok to sleep after some time. Fan of the bathroom was noisy as well, but if you turn the light off, it goes out. When the staff of the restaurant is busy, they are not too attentive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owner very helpful with safe lock-up garage for our bicycles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great basic accomodation—clean, comfortable, quiet. Great value.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, great tapas with every drink! Great bar. we were there for 3 nights and had dinner there every night . It was like being at home, wonderful when you have been travelling for a while

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was extremely attentive and hospitable. The accommodation is out of town in the most beautiful scenic area. We had dinner at the accommodation and it was probably the best meal we had on our whole trip. The entire meal was cooked by our hostess and wow, can she cook!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel in wooded countryside, great place to relax or unwind very friendly
7.0 Good
Pros: The only downside are no fridge in room ,and internet connection terrible in room.
Cons: Beautiful pool area .
4.3 Okay
Pros: we wont visit again say no more
Cons: everthing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hugely impressive and relaxing experience. The owners are amazing hosts. Attention to every detail in the rural setting, the facilities and the service is of the highest standard. The accommodation is so stylish. The surrounding may be beautiful Spanish countryside but the property is much more sophisticated. No garish light bulbs or loud TV sets provided. Instead an eclectic ambience derived from beautiful and sensitively modernised shepherd's house with tasteful finishing touches everywhere. Marc and his wife Amparo are wonderful hosts who will gladly explain everything about your stay. We enjoyed learning about how's much; from how local people make a living from olive oil production to learn about the region's controversial connections to the early pioneering activities of Christopher Columbus. El Cortijo and its owners will give you an experience not found elswhere in the Park (and beyond) where most places are mainstream with little or no charm. Vi hade en fantastisk upplevelse. Varmt rekommenerat och mycket god mat! An additional touch is the well stocked cute shop with a great selection of high quality olive oils from the hood. Thanks for a lively time!
Cons: There's nothing not to like.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is not a hotel, but a family run guesthouse with a great personal touch! Beautiful property and surroundings. Classic house, decorated with taste and style. Great breakfast! Friendly owners, good tips how to spend your day. The location makes for great day trips, with a relaxing place to stay when you come back.
Cons: A classic house with wooden floors, so you can hear others. Did not bother us too much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This wonderful place felt like a hidden gem. It is nestled amongst beautiful trees and takes you back to nature. It’s paradise. The family room we stayed in was very spacious and the traditional breakfast was very tasty. There are rooms in the house/hotel and also separate apartments. We stayed in the house, it was very quiet and we were not disturbed by any noise. The private car park is literally up the main drive. The pool was in the sun, surrounded by trees.. beautiful! There was even a little pool bar for drinks and ice creams. The wonderful hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We have travelled Spain for 4 weeks and stayed here for 2 nights, I wish it had been for longer. The host (he spoke very good English) was very helpful with recommendations and gave us the co-ordinates to find fantastic areas for us to explore in the beautiful natural park. We made family memories we will never forget walking in beautiful natural streams and swimming in clear openings. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for having us. I hope to visit again when we next travel in Spain.
Cons: There is nothing I could possibly dislike about this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were charming and helpful

Cons: THE BED A LITTLE SMALL
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Food was also good.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The area is beautiful, relaxing and surrounded by nature. It's close to some hiking starting points. After a long walk in the park, using the outdoor pool was very pleasant. Rooms are furnished in a nice mountain style and they have everything you need.
Cons: If you don't book half or full board, you can't have a proper breakfast, but only a coffee and a pastry seating at the bar counter, even if you pay for it. We asked why other guests were seating at the restaurant eating a full breakfast, and this is the reason they told us. I think they should offer the possibility to buy only breakfast or at least do not ask to seat in a different area just because you didn't book the half board.

Cons: Better ceiling fans as it was very hot.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location and views. The hosts were lovely and full of great advice. The food at the restaurant was perfecto.
Cons: The only problem we had was the heat. The building is not made for warm weather and it was very hot at night. This was during a heatwave but even when the outside temperature dropped the room stayed very warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hostal El Mirador although a few hundred meters from the town centre..it's located just off the main road hence no traffic noise. Peter and Esther speaking some 5 languages runs the establishment. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and well presented.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: You won't get a warmer welcome than here. It felt like we were staying with old friends, they couldn't have done more for us.
Cons: No air-con, but perhaps a fan in the room would help for those hot nights!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location & staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We spent New Year’s Eve in the hostel as guests but were made to feel like family. The owners included us in their family celebrations so we could experience a traditional Spanish New Years.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hornos is a lovely little town and our hosts Peter and Esther were very helpful and friendly. We arrived for a one night stay and stayed for three. Beautiful scenery and lovely drives in the area. Parking is very nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from the owners was very friendly. The location is excellent - high up in a small village right in the middle of the National Park. We were given brilliant advice on where to drive or walk in the park, and the drive we took was fantastic. The room itself was fine, with all facilities in good working order...and a great hot shower. Comfortable bed, good breakfast. Loved sitting on the terrace with a drink at the end of the day watching the sun go down over the mountains on the other side of the valley, and the mist on the reservoir in the early morning was magical. Really enjoyed staying here...great value for the money. Would heartily recommend.
Cons: An information folder in the room containing useful information such as a restaurant menu and prices, wifi password, places to go if the weather is poor ( luckily for us we had great weather!) and so on, would have been useful. This would save the owners having to explain the same things to each guest.

Overview Reviews

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very rural, in natural park. Very friendly owner.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: the remote location in the middle of the natural park is absolutely magic! the place is lovely and fantastic to relax properly away from any city environment.
Cons: Becuase of the location quite far (10-15km) from any village offering basic amenities (like a supermarket), in case you are arriving in the middle of the day, there is no food/drinks offered until the restaurant opens at 20.30. So the only catering service available is between 8.30-10.30 in the morning for breakfast or in the evening. Which for someone without a car and hungry makes things a little difficult.

Pros: We have stayed more than once at this Hotel and have always received excellent service and accommodation. The quality of the meals is excellent.

5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were the best. They were friendly and helpful and just really decent people. The hotel atmosphere, the social atmosphere of it, was pretty good. The location is extremely convenient because it allows easy access to the mountains from the highway.
Cons: Bathroom smelled of sewage. Room was very exposed via the balcony, so had to close the door/drapes. The bed was supremely uncomfortable. Hallways amplified noise, so a few loud guests made for interrupted sleep.
