This lovely farmhouse offers the best of two holidays. Located in a quiet hamlet it is easy to enjoy the French rural lifestyle with safe lanes for cycling, a number of market towns, and a local farmer who sells home made cider! The house is also only 9km from a range of fantastic sandy beaches with the nearest being at Pirou and St Germain Sur Ay. The farmhouse has recently been rewired and redecorated to provide comfortable accommodation and this is the first year of being made available for rental. We are regular visitors to french markets to discover furniture and bits and pieces to make it feel like being in France. The house has three bedrooms - a double, twin and a third with bunk beds. There is also an upstairs toilet. On the ground floor is a kitchen diner which, with a wood burner, acts as the heart of the house. There is also a living room with french doors onto the rear patio and garden. The bathroom is downstairs with a bath and shower plus a separate toilet. There is also a large garage which contains bikes, bar b q, football goals and body boards for your use. The gardens are a real plus in that there are large front and rear grassed areas which are ideal for games and entertaining. It would also be possible to pitch a tent on the garden if additional people were visiting during your stay. The house is semi-detached with its neighbour property being used by a French family as their holiday home. The house has electric heating in addition to the wood burner. There is a TV which can play DVDs but is not connected to receive TV channels. There are lots of DVDs to play plus books to read. The local area has something to interest everyone. The beaches are sandy and gently shelving and so safe for children. There are also lots of watersports centres and stables providing horse riding. The nearby towns of Lessay, Perier, St Lo, Coutances (and many others) offer local shops, good value restaurants, leisure facilities, and cultural events. The Normandy Beaches are close and obviously worth visiting. The sea food is superb especially the moules frites! Champres Zoo is worth a visit with children as is Alligator Bay and Mont St Michel. Bird watching is very rewarding given the various landscapes including the Carentan marshes. There is much more to say about what is on offer and so please feel free to contact us directly.
