10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host Carlota was fantastic. She went out of her way to help us and to recommend things to do and a place to have dinner. She was very very friendly and also put on a fantastic breakfast. We made a great new friend. And we look forward to hopefully visiting again. The house itself was what you would call a heritage house. It was very old but very charming and fixed up very nicely. It had a lot of history and it was all within Carlota’s family. I really enjoyed our stay and the hospitality that she provided. We just wish we could’ve stayed longer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A very interesting place, very nice and helpfull hosts, a very nice breakfast, a real experience in this beautiful town
Cons: The upper room is close to a street tha can be buisy in the season. However the vew there is nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house and Carlotta makes it an amazing experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. From breakfast to the room, the view and shower. The owners of the property were really friendly and it is really close to Serra da Estrela, which was our main goal when we decided to go to Covilhã. Everything was perfect. The house was really neat and very warm, which is really important.
Cons: I have no complaints, but if you go there for leisure, plan ahead to go to different cities because Covilhã is a small city and you can stay there one day maximum.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was absolutely stunning! Very complete, full of home made food and locally sourced food. The croissants were actually extra flaky! The owner was also very attentive and helpful.
Cons: There wasn't anything bad or that we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and cosy guesthouse that made us feel like home. Confy bed, delicious breakfast and the owners were super nice, welcoming and gave us great tips to explore and have dinner. We loved being there and we will come back.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great character. Superb hosts, nothing to much trouble. Fantastic breakfast.
Cons: Town is very hilly and not good for finding a good restaurant to eat out in the evening.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What roused my curiosity about this place were all the reviews about the excellent breakfast. And they were right! But what I liked even more was that Casa com História really has a story to tell. The magnificent wood work of the house and the elegant decoration and modern facilities made me feel very relaxed and the staff made us feel at home. Our host, Filipe, was very welcoming and professional. We will certainly go back!

Pros: Joan and Maria are extremely welcoming and amazing hosts!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were received by very friendly people who cooked up a home cooked meal. Raw cured ham, melon (oh so sweet) and a fantastic soup washed down with wonderful local red wine. At the abundant breakfast we were still full! This is a working farm with a small hotel. Ideal for relaxation and walks. Don't expect entertainment, this place is to wind down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beauty of the country scenery, with a peach orchard and corn plantation and the warmth and kindness of the owners. Delicious breakfast with local fruit, eggs and bread. Owners invited us to walk in the orchard and pick a box of peaches to take back with us! Great and relaxing stay for the whole family.
Cons: All great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Difficult to find more welcoming hosts anywhere in the world.
6.8 Good
Pros: hospitality
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, didn't match the reviews or expectations; outdoor is very poor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts. Large room with balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception from Sr. João and Sra. Maria. They are simple awesome pleople!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room. Two windows on opposite aspects gave the room a lovely flow of air and light.
Cons: No dinner option and the nearest restaurant is 30 minutes away. After 8 days the breakfast was uninteresting and had no variety. No glasses in the room... Nor kettle even offered for tea or coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great stay at Quinta Ponte da Capinha. This is real agro-tourism; Joao, Maria Rosario, and Julia are a farm family with an excellent small BnB. Great breakfast, and because I was visiting at the same time as Joao's birthday, I was invited to have a glass of wine with him and other family guests. This was an excellent base for exploring the Beira. It's a quiet, productive part of the country, and I modified my original travel plans after discussing with Joao, and had a great tour of the historic aldeias in the area. It's great to turn a corner and have a 900-year-old castle to explore.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We travel the world and have been in many hotels but this was the best ever as far as a lovely welcome and helpfull, very friendly staff. Rooms and view are superb! We arrived late but still they prepared some food for us. We recommend them to everyone.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the enormous jacuzzi! Modern decor with a great integration with old granite walls. Pleasant common room and well thought out hotel like facilities. Pleasant breakfast with tasty pastries. Location is great in the qaint little sorrounding town.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to choose from. The staff were always willing to assist and very it was friendly service and nothing was too much to ask for.
Cons: There is nothing to add here - it was a very good place to stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room nice and pool areas good
Cons: Staff very friendly and helpful
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommend! Excellent stay. Potty the weather was so miserable. Will come back.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The interior is hot. The air conditioner must always be on. Otherwise it looks like a sauna
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I very special hotel in the valley of cherry blossom. The area around Donas is beautify with many interesting spots.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice place. Relaxing. A mix of old and modern. Staff very kind and helpful. Love the jacuzzi and all the areas of the "house".
Cons: Some of the chairs in the swimming pool were broked. It's a pitty that they do not have a restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It was a delight to stay in this unique accommodation. It has been beautifully restored with every modern touch, whilst retaining the features of the original manor house. I loved the attention to detail, with personal touches like complimentary water & cookies, bath robes & slippers. Each room has a bar fridge, & guests have access to a large jacuzzi and of course the lovely pool. There was hot & cold breakfast options, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing!
Cons: The wifi in the rooms was a little slow, perhaps due to the stone walls?
H2otel - Covilhã - Building

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the staff, super helpful and friendly. Also, the food! While a bit on the expensive side, the buffet is worth the money, top notch. Rooms are also big enough for us and the kid and the TV and WiFi were great. The view is always spectacular at any time of the year. And let's not forget the entertainment for children, loved the movies at dinner time
Cons: I believe that the restaurant should have some rules about wearing a bath robe. I actually saw people in robes at the reception. Robes should be in the spa area only or while in transit to the room. When asked we always got what we wanted, but it would be great to have a buffet table just for the kids, at their own height. A specific soup for them could be there.
7.0 Good
Pros: The best of this hotel without any doubt are the pools and all the elements around it. The general installations are also very good, very width with lot of spots with art and good tast in decoration
Cons: The rooms, dinner and breakfast are not at the same level of the rest. The rooms are very outdated especially if we consider the prices applied. The same problem could be pointed to the dinner the price applied to the buffet, does not do justice to the quality and variety presented. Being fair the quality of the food is good, but the price paid is very high duo to all the context. The breakfast is very poor in variety and very minimal, taking into account the level of the hotel. One specific point in my visit was the demanding way as the pool closing hours were applied, this being the most interesting part of those booking at this hotel. It was still half an hour to close, and the staff started to collect everything and inspect all the places, creating in my perspective stress and some pressure on the clients, causing that they did not enjoy the experience until the end of the schedule, as they could.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: excelent location, nice staff and good facilities.
Cons: the rooms are too small and poorly illuminated
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The spa facilities were very good! The activities are very good! The Instructors are very nice and knowledgeable. The staff are very nice and welcoming, specially Filipe Brito and Ines (hydro gym and barefoot session). Managed to organise surprise with a cake for my mother in law. Dietist Odete gives indication for the food restrictions like vegetarian option. Very good!!! Including she phoned me before the booking. The food were very tasty, with good quality and variety.
Cons: The price! Could be cheaper like a Bono with hotel and restaurant. Or could have like a loyalty card and if we were going more often, could be cheaper! More vegetarian options and indication in the menu with a “v” for example. More vegan options!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a perfect hotel for a winter holidays! It's a winter resort, where you can spend 2 or 3 wonderful, relaxing and happy days. It was my 3rd time and is not the last!
Cons: The hotel doesn't have any packages available.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The pool and all pool facilities. The breakfast and the staff kindness. The family vibe and family events.
Cons: A little bit overrated.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The best think the hotel have is a heated pool with a connection to the outside pool, so there's two heated pools, one inside and the other outside.
Cons: Once we arrived we had bugs in our bathtub, I've complained and they sent someone to clean it. In the next morning, with the sunlight we found out the room was full of dust and badly cleaned. Even after a complain, we can still see dust. Luckly for us, none of our kids has allergies. The restaurant, it's nice to have a buffet, but for the price, I would expect better food. The food lacked flavour, despite the option to have a meat and fish dishes. In a region with a good source of great ingredients and simple recipes for delicious food this is outrageous. The assortment of local cheese was good. The breakfast was decent, with a less positive note for the bacon, that should not be sink in the fat.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing facilities, with a fantastic pool. Nice restaurant with good food.
Cons: Booked a room with double bed and balcony. A two bed room with no balcony was given. After an unpleasant argument with front desk staff a swap was made to a double bed room but still no balcony.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: - I loved the view from my room in the 9th floor as I could see the entire ridge; - The bed was extraordinarly big and comfortable; - The facilities were new and clean; - The breakfast was complete with many options; - It had gym, turkish bath and sauna.
Cons: - I checked-in Friday night and since the hotel borders the fire department I could hear the "fire fighting band" reharsal until 11 pm; - The breakfast room is supposed to open at 8 am but at 8h10 the door was still closed and we had to knock it; - The lifts are very small and tight barely fitting three persons inside; - The decoration in the corridors and common parts is dark grey which gives a dark impression of the place; - The price of the rooms during weekend is much as double comparing with during the week.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Garage
10.0 Excellent

Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a great location and the higher floors have amazing views. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The sauna and Turkish bath are lovely too. The receptionist suggested a lovely restaurant right near the hotel which was perfect. Great value
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent! Very good bed, breakfast, decor, and air conditioning. The view and balcony (on request) were among the best for the money I’ve had in Portugal. Beautiful shiny coffee machine making lattes on demand at breakfast. Lovely setting in a most comfortable, newly renovated hotel. The sports theme is more charming than you might think, and it means there’s a full gym, not a hotel-style one. Great place.
Cons: Hall and stairway light motion detectors come on slowly, which is great from an eco standpoint, but not if you’re nervous about personal security (no matter the safe feeling of the country/location).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Info available in the lift and corridors. Facilities are good as well, including parking. Location is also great wit a few terraces nearby.
Cons: No specific issue found.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. · The hotel staff are very good and very helpful. · Space has very good view. · Hotel and room were very clean and excellent. · The breakfast was complete with many options · Internet access is very good. · Bathroom was good and very clean. · It had gym, Turkish bath and sauna.

Cons: Plastic undersheet on mattress

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, great staff, food was excellent, views from the roof top terrace are amazing. We had dinner and breakfast while staying and both were really delious and obviously very good quality ingredients.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, wide choice for breakfast
Cons: Limited space to hang clothes and door to the bathroom was broken.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, the hotel building is beautiful and the room has enough space. The staff is nice and extremely helpful, and the room is clean. The restaurant is good and the breakfast is ok.
Cons: The hotel has many stairs, that may be a problem to travel with small children. The bathroom doesn't have separation from the room, which is a little uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building, beautifully decorated, great roof terrace, high quality materials (duvets instead of the traditional sheets and blankets - makes a difference at this altitude), an absolute bargain for the price (I think it was a last minute offer). The staff were incredibly friendly and the food in the restaurant is really wonderful and also a bargain. I think this is the best place to eat in Covilha - you should definitely eat here even if you don't stay.
Cons: Nothing major, but just for info for sensitive sleepers: we were upgraded to a bigger room, which was kind, but actually I think I would have preferred the small room for coziness and view. It's very hard to get a big room warm with air con heating...the hotel is right next to a church so noise from the bells is unavoidable. Only one window had shutters so no black-out possible. The bathroom was just part of the room with no door, which was a bit strange.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great experience. Excellent location, really nice building, with a tasteful decoration. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a private coffee machine and a really nice bed. The staff is very welcoming. Great experience!
Cons: Nothing, really, my experience was flawless. The location of the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, without elevator, may be inconvenient for older people or someone with heavy luggage, but the staff is really helpful and I'm sure that, in the end, it wouldn't be a problem.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room with a balcony, comfortable bed with AC and modern bathroom. Every single one of the staff members we encountered were incredibly helpful and lovely! The breakfast was delicious and there is a nice rooftop to see views over the city.
Cons: We couldn’t figure out how to open the drain to the sink so that was confusing but we arrived so late and didn’t want to bother the lovely man after he waited for our arrival! The bathroom is modern and has a cloudy glass sliding door to the bedroom which may not be for everyone but it was fine for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place with a very kind and helpful staff! Definitely a good option to explore Serra Estrela! The Restaurant is very good, too! Everybody is eager to make your stay the most pleasent!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic experience! Very kind, polite and helpful staff, with high level of proficiency - from the owner, whose English is perfect as well as approach to guests, to amazing Lidia (my first teacher of Portuguese language!), who makes super-tasty "ovos" for breakfast. I felt so welcome and attended with special care during the whole 6-day stay, from late arrival to early departure. Thanks a lot!!! Breakfast is excellent, as well as wi-fi signal. The whole hotel is very clean and tidy. It is an old building, recently refurbished so that everything except main construction is new and furnished in modern style, but with special antique note in decoration, that I liked a lot. Rooftop view is "wow"! Hotel has fine restaurant and bar, with charming yard. Location is great - around the corner from the main square, less than 10 min nice walk from the University of Beira Interior (main buildings, like central library). Great value for money. Everything is exactly as in photos at booking.com, including my small single room. Yes, it is tiny, but totally functional, with comfy bad and rather spacious bathroom. If I ever visit Covilha again, the same hotel, the same room would my first choice. Highly recommendable!!!
Cons: Someone may object the fact there is no elevator and staircase is rather steep, but I enjoyed that reminiscence of old time and old splendour of the building. Yes, the owners helped me with the luggage, but anyway that original stairs in such house wouldn't be an issue for me.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast awesome Clean The lady doing the breakfast was awesome friendly on the ball . She serviced the rooms made breakfast checked us out . I give her a 12/10
Cons: Access to hotel Small and awkward toilet not well designed

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast Big and comfortable bed Big parking place
Cons: Covilha was a 3 night stop in a 3 weeks long vacation. This means we had a lot of stuff with us (2 big suitcases, 1 small, 1 big backpack). The closet was practically non existing. We had to keep most of our stuff in the luggage because we didn't have room. Which is quite annoying if you want to let your clothes breathe before packing again. The hunidity was very high in our room and the air conditioning system didn't have any feature to take off the humidity. The glass door between the bathroom and the room didn't help: in fact, after we took a shower the humidity rose even higher.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious rooms. Spa facilities with swimming pool. Good food, with the buffet dinner excellent value
Cons: The public areas and corridors were way too hot
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bar is great! Awesome cocktails for good prices!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Most everything. The buffet breakfast was first class, the evening meal was either buffet or set menu and the choice was very varied. The hotel public area was vast and varied, you could always find somewhere to sit, which suited your mood.
Cons: Situated a little further from the centre of town, than we would have liked
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Bed extra extra large. Cool decoration. Unfortunately I hadn’t time to enjoy the spa... can’t wait to return and try it
Cons: Nothing to declare.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. There is an excellent buffet dinner in the evenings. We made good use of the pool which was not too busy. The room was great as were the public areas. There was free and easy motorcycle parking.
Cons: It's not near the centre of Covilha so you have to take a bus/taxi, or walk a hilly 45 minutes.

Cons: Some ambient noise from other rooms (tv ).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This little hotel is in a lovely position high in the town with wonderful views. The owner did everything possible to make our stay memorable. We were recommended to the restaurant right opposite called Alkimya where we had wild boar cooked by the very young and talented owner. I can't recommend it highly enough. Unfortunately we were only there for one night but will definitely return if we are in this area again.
Cons: Parking was tricky. There is a small area of public parking beside the hotel and we were lucky to pull in as someone was leaving. It is pay to park throughout the day.

Pros: The hotel is fantastic in terms of location, facilities and most of all the way they receive any guest. In this last stay I ask a double bed and the hotel confirm, but when I arrive there was a problem with the bed, when I contact the receptionist immediately they find a way to correct the situation and to show the client he is in the center of the attention, simply fantastic
Cons: The room is in a zone where the WiFi doesn’t work and this is a problem because in the same area the 3G and 4G almost doesn’t work also

Cons: Not much to do when you leave the hotel. The SPA was not that good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super pool area, most welcome after a long ride on the motorbikes
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast. Like a full mid/north European breakfast buffet with hot Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and so on. Pool looked fantastic we didn't use it though. Free underground parking.
Cons: Double bed very narrow. Measured it at 140 cm. It was a bit worn down too. Room fairly small but with a nice balcony (facing into an inside courtyard, so no view) Also be aware that some of the rooms has the horrible bathrooms with a glass wall into the living room. So if you don't stay alone be prepared to know your partner well :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities at the hotel were excellent, on site spa, small bar and very nice and large outdoor pool and sunbathing area. The on site restaurant was amazing, the food and wine choice were excellent. Go hungry as the portions and side dishes were rather large.

Cons: A very small niggle the hairdryer wasn't much good
