We enjoyed the country admosphere, very nice
The location was picturesque. The hotel and decor was dated.
Surroundings No wireless internet
The people at the front desk were very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent and delicious. We came in late at night (10.15 p.m.) and would have loved to make a cup of tea in the room. A coffee maker would have been nice, or an electric water boiler in our case.
Good breakfast selection
excellant rural position , good restaurant
The room itself was fairly large and very clean with a lovely bathroom, however the furniture was rather old and worn. The rooms are in a seperate annex and the corridors had a slightly musty un-aired smell to them. The hotel advertises that it has a swimming pool, however when you arrive you discover that it is only open in the morning and is closed in the afternoon from 4.00 till 7.00pm for what appears to be the local swimming lesson classes, as the restaurant closes at 9.00pm it means you don't really get much chance to use the pool at all during the week.
in the morning we arrived in a well served dining room , alot of food in all kinds off tastes, worth wile if u look at the total prise.there is not much noise, because all the rooms are spread over the area , all on one floor we could not enter our room after hanging at the bar in the hotel , the badge did not work , after looking for hotel personel -which we did not find - we slept in the same room of our friends , 2 bedroom with 4 :(., next morning we told it , but did get poor respons . Bur after all , it was a nice time in that room ---laugh---
The staff were very warm and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent.
Convenient location, easy to find; quiet area; large and green terrirory; free car parking available; rather good breakfast; the hotel staff is friendly, but... ...the staff is friendly but rather incompetent and lazy: once it took 10 minutes to get a room key at the reception (very simple task, isn't it?), and the billing/ payment procedure took about 30 minutes and they have finally made a bill with mistake (that was a real disaster!). The hotel needs a serious renovation, especially inside. No minibar or refrigerator in the room. Some lights were not working in the room. Sharp edges of a tiles in the bathroom.
The breakfast and Dining Room was very good
Very friendly and helpful personnel. There is a nice bar and breakfast is good. Bathroom in the room was a little old and narrow. But nevertheless the room itself was ok for a single night. Could use some renovation however.
The service staff, especially the chambermaids and reception were excellent.
location is ideal for the Assen TT Race Circuit and the bowling facilities make it worthwhile, 5th year now used it
Bowling alley attached and very reasonable price
situation cheap motel, small room with outdated furnishings, double bed are two singels put together - i suppose you get what you pay for.
Location is good - walking distance to city centre. Staff were courteous and helpful Room had a funny smell to it. I got used to the smell after about 5 minutes or so. I suspect that it was a smoking room at one time, or still might be for smokers. I really can't complain too much - I think I got the last available room for the night I stayed there.
Great value for money, clean room, comfy pillows and bed Difficult to get a taxi in the early morning
location to Assen, facilities, value and used it before
Reasonable prices, good food, pretty location no internet access
Stylish and quality finish , food good ,staff friendly and helpful .Located in a beautiful wooded area within picturesque Dwingaloo. Well recomended. Cryptic menu,no fridge and kettle in room.
Incredibly friendly staff, right on the Brink, bar and restaurant, beautiful room. One of the best hotels we've stayed in! Nothing
Very good kitchen, friendly service all around. The dinner table that was reserved in advance was given away; The requested seperate beds were not available.
The service was excellent, the hotel was what we had expected as we had stayed at the Hotel the year before.A very relaxing village in the heart of Holland. The Church bell was a little annoying
Friendly staff, big and spacious room and good restaurant. Nearby church bells provide a lot of noise on Sunday for 5 to 10 minutes.
excellent price, location and good menu
It is located in the centre of Dwingeloo, a touristy but nice village close to the National Park Dwingelerveld. We did not like the fact that we booked at Hotel Wesseling but our room was in the opposite building, in what used to be another hotel. Quality of the rooms may probably be the same, but the facilities and the general look and feel were certainly different, and less inviting. And it is not pleasant to have to go to the breakfast room in the pooring rain.
Very good restaurant and same menu available in the bar area. First class breakfast Restaurant closed at 8.00pm on Sunday evening
Good sized, clean room - the bath was huge! However, I was only there from 11pm until 8am There were no tea-making facilities
Friendly & helpful staff
big room, nice restaurant, clean bathroom (with bath), friendly staff, breakfast with a lot of choice
Staff are fantastic and the food is excellent. Probably the best value for money in the region Rooms are very warm in summer and would be nice if they had fans
Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent value, both for evening meal and breakfast.
comfortable to go to guest room has to pass the restaurant (the same as in Drenten)
breakfast, restaurant good basic bathroom infrastructure, old TV set, horrible colors used
The rooms were very large and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant was very good and the setting is peaceful on the park side. There was traffic noise on the highway side, but the windows dulled it a great deal. I requested, by email, a room in the back away from the highway, but they did not answer me. My room faced the highway. Better communication would be nice.
Very friendly and helpful hosts. Nice location near to the village centre which has a couple of good resturants/pubs. No bar, but they have 3 fridges in the breakfast room for you to keep your beer/drinks cool, and you can drink them in the small garden which has plenty of tables and seats. Very relaxing feel to the place.
Nice hotel clean and tidy Overbooked our room which was booked in oct 2009 so 2 of the party ended up in broom cupboard at a nearby hotel
the hotel was first class service and very helpfull staff and in a very nice area no
The restaurant and bar area provided a relaxing environment The rooms were basic and I was bitten a number of time by mosquitos in the room.
We enjoyed our stay at Martensplek. It was clean and comfortable in a very nice country surrounding off the beaten path. Somehow, our booking information did not arrive at the hotel.
