We loved our stay at Au Lion dÓr from the welcome we received on our arrival from both the helpful staff and the resident friendly golden labrador, our upgrade to a valley view room, the superb dinner and breakfast...to the fabulous location in this pretty town. No it was all good here.
Lovely looking hotel - beautiful location and friendly staff. Frustrating showerhead... Food was very good but very overpriced (not a lot of options in the off season).
Beautiful location in centre of village with views over the valley. Beautiful room Hotel receptionist a little bit arrogant on arrival. Good food in restaurant but very expensive and tables with a valley view were 'reserved' but not occupied during our time there. Tried to charge for breakfast we didn't have
Views, localization. 1. Only some representatives of personnel speak English. 2. It took 20mins to create the invoice at the end of our stay. 3. Poor selection in breakfast menu.
The food was quit good, as was the wine. Rooms at front have some trouble from traffic noise as of 5.30am.
Pleasant situation, confortable room and helpful staff Expensive restaurant
It was very quiet and relaxing. a very spacious room with good facilities, excellent views and a large bathroom with seoarate wc Some of the staff were a little off hand
beautiful location, great food, helpful staff, tranquil.
wonderful atmosphere, owner was very friendly
The management and staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of Alsace, excellent views from our balcony over a wooded valley.
Stunning view from the room, friendly service, spacious room, good location (in the village and close to the start of the many walking trails) May need some refurbishment (carpets, furniture,..)
The location was good and so was the food served at the restaurant. I don't think it was a good value for money. The service and poor.
Locationwas great. One could enjoy hiking trails, especially in the fall. Persons at the reception were not especially friendly or helpful
The view from the room and from the dining terrasse was magnificent. One member of the staff was not particularly service minded. We asked for help to catch a bus, however, we were cut off and referred to the tourist office (which was closed).
internet connection, view, pool room old-dated, food tasted old, tv only french, doggs in the restaurant, bad road to there
It's location is good, en route to Germany as overnight stop. In the heart of Alsace.. great to simply be there!
excellent centre for walking and the local cuisine
The helpfulness of the staff and the standard of the room - very comfortable
Friendly management, very cosy, nice, spacious room with many available TV channels and a great bathroom. ...Unfortunately, there was no hot water in the evenings. After asking for it, it was available but only warm enough after about 45 minutes.
Convenient for work meeting in Mouterhouse and Reipertsweiller. Liked being near to Vosges forest access and quaint countryside. Breakfast and coffee nice. Would be nice to have a place to have a few drinks later at night. Stronger wireless connection would also be nice.
Food costly and no choice of cheaper meals
The room was great, big bed, excellent sheets, great bath! Breakfast was okay, but nothing special for 12€ per person
Very very nice.Nice , huge rooms, peaceful, nice stuff, all was perfect. You have a nice fireplace....use it! Restaurant a bit to expansive...!
The peaceful surroundings and the good food No
The acradable ambiente and the peace The WLAN cinection was unstable
Excellent comfortable accomodation The bill included a breakfast we did not have - one of our party was ill (unrelated to the hotel)
spacious well equipped room; excellent food
staff were very acommodating even though we arrived late and the food was superb
excellent facilities and good room. Hotel was not crowded and meals were good, especially breakfast. Nice terrace for eating out in good weather No tea / coffee facilities in room
very friendly and warm atmosphere nice spa area, unfortunately the massages are really expensive
When you book a classical room, you get a room with a single persons bed, 140 cm, not big enough for 2 people. And these rooms have not been renovated. If you a book a room for 2 persons, there should be a bed for 2 persons, so 180 cm. The bathroom was very small and and old fashioned. The reception was not friendly, no possibility to get another room unless you pay a hugh supplement. And you cannot speak in the sparoom, no cell phones allowed and no smoking outside, not very recommandable for business people.
Do not book this hotel - it is noisy, it stinks and the owner is extremely unfriendly! Do not book this hotel - it is noisy, it stinks and the owner is extremely unfriendly! The location of the hotel which is close to dowtown area but away enough to enjoy tranquility The hotel advertises the front desk open from 7am to 11pm but it is not !!! Guests cannot receive their phone calls in their room after 9pm and no one is accommodating to the guests by asking if it is an important call especially when it is a call from the U.S.A. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had single rooms, which were quite spaceous and comfortable. Some of us had windows facing the back yard, with trees and chirping birds right outside the window. For us this was a very welcome escape from city life. And excellent value for the money too! The hotel is located in a street crossing. Though the traffic in Sarreguemines by no means is heavy, light sleepers might want to ask for rooms facing the back rather than the street.
An excellent comfortable small hotel with a good kitchen and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was very complete with a large variety of choices. Location is nice being above railroad station and overlooking the citadel. No plug in bathroom tub--it was provided for next night stay by management.
Quality of service
The location was excellent for us and pet friendly.
English language was limited, but adequate. Sauna worked. Restaurant had good food, local cuisine. Golf package was available, but wasn't mentioned. Golf package was available, but not mentioned.
Great location, nice restaurant, comfortable room.
Pleasant helpful staff, excellent food & service
Did what it said on the tin. The food in the restaurant was very good
Nice stuff, good restauran. Little bit smelly premises.
Beautiful location Wifi in hotel wasn't a strong signal
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms while old and basic, were unique and had some character. A bit refreshing after two weeks of chain hotels. Everything was clean and worked well. A bit out of the way and a little hard to find.
staff were curt about the 'kitchen is closed' situation - almost like being back in Britain!
hotel did not receive reservations from booking.com, but luckily a room was available.
The hotel had a great restaurant; the food was excellent; the room was comfortable and clean It cost 6 Euros for 3hours fo internet
