Definitly a jewel hidding in the Tuscany countryside. Not easy to find but very nice facilities, great garden and pool area and great service and food. The owners are so nice and even though their english is poor we had no problems getting top service. It might not be soundproff but as the number of guests is limited, we never heard a thing.
Very clean, pleasant Staff, and lots of open space , both front and back , also noticed that the owners have made more impruvement :, a Restaurant will open soon, and the swmming pool was getting ready for use . the answer to that is ...NO
Hotel is located in walking distance from Casteliogne del Lago and has pool and parking. Rooms are clean and comfortable Although the breakfast had an excellent pastry selection, there was little hot food, a small fruit selection and instant coffee.
Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Basic but clean, no Internet in room , nothing in area , but people freindly and helpful. The food at evening meals was really bad, no imagination, and service impersonal.
This is a wonderful place. It was one of the highlights of our stay. It was a wonderful experience.
Convenient for the Umbrian cities etc. Food could be better but enjoyed the stay.
Good points, it had a pool and if you like Benidorm this is the place for you. I can sum it up in one word Benidorm.
We felt looked after by the hotel staff.
Hotel run down and tired and need an face lift. Breakfast best to go to go into town and spend two euro's. Receptionist needs to learn to smile. Breakfast. Pool dirty. Air conditioning dates back to Roman times.
The fact that this hotel is within the castle walls of Castiglione del Lago made it a very romantic setting for a honeymoon trip. The view from the french windows that opened onto a balcony and gave a superb view over Lago de Tresimino. Very comfortable and a restaurant that is full of character and interest with a menu to match that character.
A nice place (top floor of a palazzo) with magnificent views of the lake. Friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast.
the lovely village and surrounds and good walks and views Carrying luggage upstairs
Very good value for money, good breakfast, good restaurant attached next door, right in the middle of old town, I arrived by train, make sure you book a taxi to meet you, google map says 1 KM it'smore like 3 with 100 steps up to the old town, too much with luggage.
Very nice, unique hotel in a lovely setting with a great view of lake.
Location of this hotel is perfect, views of lake Garda, our room overlooked the main square. None
The hospitality was very good. They were very helpful with taking luggage to the room, they also recommended places of interest to visit. They advised us where the good restaurants were.
Helpful ,english speaking staff
Family run, extremely efficient service. Very helpful staff who were good english speakers.
This great little hotel was an excellent stopping off point for us after touring in Tuscany and travelling down to Rome. Our hosts were very attentive and made us feel most welcome. They also recommended an excellent restaurant just down the street. Furnishings were little dated but not a problem.
The hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Location is perfect being right in the centre of the old town. The parking is unusual, as you need a key from the hotel to enter the pedestrian zone to unload you luggage, but don't let it put you off.
Very friendly staff who speak good English. They could not do enough to help.
The owner and his sister were very friendly and obliging and provided useful guidance about the area and in particular the recommendation to visit the wonderful Mona Lisa restaurant where the owner has a passion for his food and wine.
Location is excellant. Staff very helpful and kind. Good selection of tourist literature in several languages. Nice reception area. Great, nice and firm mattress. We stayed in room 8 which was rented to us as a superior double. Although the bathroom was large, the bedroom itself was not large enough to swing a cat and had virtually no flat surfaces on which to put your stuff if you decided to unpack. No hooks in bathroom, television only received Italian broadcasts. Room was decently decorated but without the needs of travellers in mind. No lift might bother some. Breakfast acceptable but certainly nothing special.
Roberto and his sister were lovely and looked after us very well. Roberto mentioned various local places for us to visit which we may otherwise have missed, so he really added to our holiday experience. We were on a motorbike, and were delighted they were able to provide us with secure parking just opposite the hotel.
very friendly staff on this small location in the countryside. be aware that Lake Trasimeno is not as touristic as you might think it is.
The apartment was lovely and very large. Just a suggestion - better lighting in the small bedroom and the living room. Also, a larger coffee maker would have been helpful.
well-equipped kitchen, great swimming pool and the family-operational pansion' s owners are helpful microwave oven was missed and from the upstairs the pad's noises was a little bit disturbing (i think the isolation isnt perfect)
Everything The washing machine! - Need to put instructions on how to use (both Italian and English - "How to use this machine!!"
close proximity to major scenic sites in tuscany and umbria ie.sienna, florence etc plus a walled historic site above the town of catigleone del lago. Friendly people in the town. It would have helped if someone in the hotel could speak a little english,to explain the facilities as in evening meals and times etc.
Walking distance to the town center. Pool was nice in summer heat Traffic noise in rooms at the front
Proximity to Castioglione was excellent. Cappucinos in the morning was a nice touch to breakfast. Friendly staff. Internet access in lobby. Air Conditioners barely functioned. Waterworks was hit and miss.
Clean, fairly basic room. Nice big swimming pool behind the hotel. Within walking distance of the town. Adequate breakfast.
rooms wre a bit dated..could do with being refurbished..
The staff were friendly and helpful. We experienced a little traffic noise from the road and suggest that the road facing rooms would benefit from double glazing.
Easy to find, convenient parking. Only one staff member spoke English, but he was helpful. Restaurant provided very good value dinner, limited choice but good Italian home cooking, plenty of pasta! Comfortable bed, rooms at back quiet. Computer terminal free for guests to use.
