Good service and pleasant surraunding. The food was good. our first experience of all inclusive hotel, We liked also the pool gymnastic .and guided exercice dance (one step etc.) Heavy disco musik just outside of our room.
The location, swimming pools, gardens, general upkeep of the buildings. The air conditioning in the hotel and the rooms was not working efficiently, especially in the restaurant. The food and beverages were not up to the standard of a 4 star all inclusive. No evening entertainment as advertised.
The rooms were brightly decorated, the staff were extremely friendly and the location was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The kitchenette could have been stocked slightly better. There was not enough cutlery for two people to eat. Nor were there utensils for the fryingpan. A toaster would have been nice.
Stunning views. The rooms are simple but well decorated. The place where it is located is really nice. I booked for 3 night through booking.com but couldn't make the three days together so had to do 2 different reservations with two different rooms and differents prices. The most expensive room was not available so we were given a room for the 3 nights, which was great so that we didn't have to move. I didn't like that we were charged two prices: 95€ and 75€ for the same room. Very unfair!!
The Palazzo Grecco was a beautiful hotel. It was a pleasure to stay there. The room was delightful with matching furniture and the standard of cleanliness excellent. The view from our room was spectacular. There was nothing about the Hotel we did not like during our stay, the only improvements we would suggest if that it would have nice to have some more comfortable chairs to enjoy the view from our terrace, and it would have been nice to have been able to buy drinks and snacks.
Good standard of fittings in the room, including good shower which we have found to be rare in Crete. Good location with great view and close to restaurant area of Agia Galini. Relatively small room with little sound insulation.
The location & view from the pool is excellent & the staff were very friendly Bed was quite hard but the staff provided additional softer mattresses. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit harsh & uncomplimentary!
Noisy hotel, rooms dirty, bed never done but the breakfast was good and the staff a bit kind
it's a normal hotel with a beautiful view Not so good price/quality ratio.
lovely rooms, good power shower, really nice place
Probably the nicest hotel in Agia Galini. Very nice room with an astonishing view. Very nice breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owners No cooking equipment provided in the apartment
We loved the palazzo greco. It is a fantastic new hotel. Stylish and total clean rooms, an amazing designer bathroom!!! The breakfast fast not that big but ok. (Bread, jam, honey, cereals, cheese, ham, tomatoes, eggs, cake, melon, fresh juice, milk and coffee) The room had a new small kitchen with dishes and refrigerator. The pool was nice, too. The best hotel in agia galini The air conditioning was not working really good. It was slow and not very cold.
There many things that deserve to be mentioned. First, the ideal location, not far from the city of Rethymnon, has its merits (peace and quiet) coupled with night life opportunities in the nearby places. Next, the friendly attitude of the staff (restaurant) has created a positive atmosphere of feeling at home. Then the menu for both breakfast and dinner can be mentioned, which indeed was rich and generous. Finally, the enormous swimming pools (4 in total) and the variety of activities (sport and other) as well as the spacious and really beautiful gardens made our holiday vacations, quite an experience. The bureaucratic attitude of the hotel manager. He was quite inflexible and inelastic towards our demand for a change to a room with a sea view.
This hotel is really a good base if you plan to visit Crete in 4 days, like we did. The farthest you could go are the Samarian Gorges, 2 hours away, for some hiking. But you can also get to Chania in 50 minutes, or Rethymno in 15, and these cities are worth a visit! One of the nicest in Greece. Heraklio is only an hour away, though the only thing to see there is the archeological site of Knossos. The hotel is part of an all-included chain with a good reputation. This is reflected in good service, and a very nice accomodation. The buffet is very good at the hotel, in terms of quantity and variety of food. But if you're not the type of person who likes this concept of a food buffet, than you should absolutely get to the small nearby village of Panormo (5 minutes by car), and eat at one of the traditional family restaurants there.
The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. Layout of grounds, beaches and pools were good. Food acceptable The bar was understaffed. We were at a table with all inclusive people, the barman came to check that we were not being given drinks by people who were all inclusive, I felt very insulted by this. Waiters cleared away our table before we had returned from the buffet with our main course, evening meal.
the quiet and solitude , the attractive and well appointed room the view from our room was a bit blighted by ugly buildings
We stayed two nights at the Delrina Mountain Resort, a jewel of hotel at the slopes of the gorgeous Psiloritis mountain. A genuine mountain resorts with many pleasant facilities. We hope to return! Magnus and Gabriele
The room was spacious and the view was beautiful. The food was very good as well. Transportation to and from Anogia or other nearby towns would be beneficial, or let people know that they require to rent a car before arriving.
Great, value for money 1 bedroom apartments located with direct access to the beach (no road in between). The kitchen and cupboards were new and there was one double bed in the bedroom and two singlesofa beds in the living room- for 80 euros a night was a bargain and when travelling with small children we prefer to sleep in apartment style accomodation than get squashed in a fancy hotel room. The rooms and balcony were a good size. Although we've never before used a pool in hotels with our children we really enjoyed this one as it seemed new, generous size, well designed, very clean and was a big hit with the children as well as they had inflatable toys and the kiddie pool was the perfect depth for our 4 and 2.5 year old to paddle safely in Towels were not refreshed during our 4 day stay although the staff were very helpful and I'm sure they would have obliged if we had asked for it. Also, the aircon in the living room did not really work and TV reception was very poor though we did not mind as we weren't there to watch TV. Area of town the hotel is located in is very touristy with british and german style pubs, but very close to Rethymno and the hotel itself is tucked away in an alley closer to the beach than the main road so you don't get any of the noise other hotels would get in the area.
The location sea side, the swimming pool.Nice staff (one family) The air conditionning needs to be changed. (Very old)
pool was big, nice natural shaded garden, located on the beach, beach taverna food was good. Balcony was facing an ivy covered wall 20 m away therefore very little daylight and no view . Poor shower facilities. Very little interaction from hotel management.
We stayed for 5 days during September 2010. The room was clean and comfortable, and was cleaned every day. The pool was also clean and fun to swim. The beach is 2 minutes walking. The main street, including many supermarkets and local restaurants, is 2 minutes away. Although everything was so close, the hotel was very quiet and the atmosphere was relaxing. There is lots of parking. The stuff was very polite. We enjoyed staying at the Marinos. If I had to choose again, I would consider staying there again. Some small disadvantages that might matter to one more than to the other: The air condition works only during the night (midnight to 8 AM) and the afternoon (2 PM - 8 PM). On some days it was uncomfortable sleeping before midnight (when the humidity was high). Also, on some occasions we ran out of hot water on the shower (before 8 AM or after 10 AM). This probably happened since the water heater system is turned on a certain hour and is also central (same principle as the air condition). Safe deposit costs 2 euro per day. You get only one key for the room which also makes the electricity work. So if one goes out with the key, the others stay without electricity (not including the refrigerator).
excellent location just on the beach with no road in between, nice garden and swimming pool, excellent tavern, fair service: I will suggest it to all my friends , especially with kids.Platanes itself offer a nice promenade wit shops and markets and night life. central air conditioning is operated in the afternoon and during the night (it works well) but from 7pm until almost midnight the room becomes pretty hot: prolonged air conditiong operating time would be beneficial.
Good points for this hotel, staff, clean, location, fantastic resturant. good size pool and surrounds. quiet location. Only problem with hotel is the shower curtains used in the bathrooms
Very nice hotel for family vacation, right on the beach, close to everything. Hotel stuff is very friendly and always willing to help, decent breakfast, clean rooms. Excellent, large swimming pool. Will recommend this hotel to my friends and come back if ever in Greece again.
Fantastic location with a HUGE swimming pool while located on the beach. Very friendly, welcoming family staff. Good quality, reasonably priced restaurant between the pool and beach with fantastic views of the sea and mountains. Large menu including some good Greek specialties-we hosted family to dine with us there twice and they were quite pleased. Best value on Crete. Pool use ends at sundown. A ceiling fan would be a great addition to keep the room comfortable without running air conditioning.
The hotel is well located along the beach, in a very touristic area. I stayed at the Eva Bay for 4 nights, essentially over the week end. The rooms are essentially clean but a bit humid, there are mosquitoes. At week ends the bar of the hotel is very loud and it was almost impossible to sleep until 3am. Many people wanted to change their room the next morning. If you go there, take products against mosquitoes and ear plugs.
the staff was very polite and helpfull in everything we asked and needed i think the price was too high for the level of the room
The Head waiter at the Beach Taverna Restaurant was extremely kind and friendly. Infinity Pool was fantastic. Drinks too expensive. Breakfast too chaotic. Too many people for small serving space. Hotel has 800 people capacity. Entertainment place has por viability. No Hotel buses to Hotel. Taxi is $95 Euro to Main airport.Bungalowrooms were not bungalows put attached to hotel corridor.
probably the entertainment for the kids and the swimming pool near the boungalo food is poor, there are no a lot of choices, very limited. Rooms are not cleaned every date. very nosy at night, impossible to sleap with open window!!!!
Absolutely worth the money. The staff was great and while no one spoke much English somehow everything worked out great. The rooms were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast consisted of some 15 different dishes of pastries. While there be sure to visit also the restaurant Vegera for some amazing food.
Amazing Greek welcome; became part of the family both here and at the only taverna. Greece as it was in the 70s; some Greek makes a difference. Mountains and walks stunning. As a newly diagnosed severe diabetic, the 17 dish breakfast feast of sweet and savoury home made sweet and savoury dishes - white buns, doughballs, cakes etc were tempting but out of bounds!
The best hotel in creta island.sure we come back next year.very good breakfast.raccomended dinner by vieggera.
The place was very historical, the hostess was wonderful. Wish the beds were a little more comfortable...but overall a great place.
Lovely setting in the mountains. Courteous and generous service from the owners. Local eating options exceptional Highly recommend staying here if on a budget or just want to try authentic Cretan hospitality. When we arrived we were offered tea, cake, raki and fresh peanuts (not salted)! Breakfast unbelievable!
We stayed for 2 days, the place is very basic with the breakfast all made with goats milk and cheese, so if you dont like goats stuff avoid. Room had a shared balcony with another room, the furniture was worn out and one of the beds was completely knackered. Expensive for what it is, there are much better places around the area.
The hosts was very kind and the food was excellent.
A fantastic hotel and village. The room was clean and traditional, with the most comfortable bed ever! Great mountain and village veiws. The owners are really friendly and the breakfasts are amazing! All home-made pastries, at one point 23 plates were on our table! We had enough left over for our lunch!
Everything was great. All the people from the hotel and from the village are really nice. We have eaten the best food in greece (the amazing breakfast in the hotel - more then 15 differnt home made things - and traditional greek food in the local restaurant, "Vegera") Not hot water in the morning
Katarina, the owner, is charming, breakfast was great. Clean. There's an elevator! Very peaceful, great air at night on the balcony. Lovely village. Bathroom was a bit dark.
