Pros: This was a real find. In the middle of the countryside a beautiful location with birds singing and peaceful. The rooms we had were special, simple but well appointed. Our host was lovely, friendly and helpful, booking a restaurant and even letting the chef know or preferences.
Pros: Great hospitality, good home. The house is surrounded by lavender fields. Tasty breakfast.
Pros: Everything. Beautiful place. Well maintained, renovated, exceptionally clean. Dear hostess Virginie is the attractive. Very welcoming, warm hospitality. Bug clean comfortable best. Quiet place. The house is located in the middle of lavender fields and olive trees plantation with the Penitents view...So Provence like. Breakfast impeccable. There is a touch of care in every detail. Plenty Information on where to go, what to see, restaurants... dishes... Virginie knows everything and is always available.
Cons: Too short a time to enjoy everything... would stay longer. Somente o pouco tempo que tivemos.

When you stay at Le mas Saint Joseph in Châteauneuf-Val-Saint-Donat, you'll be 15 minutes by car from Sisteron Cathedral. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The setting’ and the pool and hiking out the door!
Cons: Beware the hiking map! Very confusing if you don’t speak French
Pros: The way we were welcome was fantastic. Felt like being received as a family member. The room was lovely, very clean with a great view!
Cons: Breakfast was good but too continental/French to my liking. No choice of cheese which is a bit odd with a cheese maker close by... If you don't like jam much like me (even home made) you're a bit stuck
Pros: The location was beautifull, the owners very wellcoming and very helpfull with informations about the local things to do and to visit! ++ The room was very clean. Overall, I will rate with a 10 from 1 to 10. It was just gorgeous!!! Thank you for this beautifull time spending there! Thank you Olivier!
Pros: We had a wonderful, though short stay at the property. It's very charming, sparkling clean and peaceful. The pool is great and the breakfast with home-made jam as well. We would definititely stay there again.
Located in Châteauneuf-Val-Saint-Donat, Le Jas De Peguier is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Sisteron Cathedral and La Californie. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The building
Cons: The fact that i was almost attached by a very angry dog.the carpet on the stairs was very worn and old fashioned furniture.
Pros: The ambiance was suberb. The rooms look really nice. The breakfast was delightful. We will definitely come back to this great place.
Cons: Can not think about anything.
Pros: Very nice location, family friendly, nice staff
Cons: There is nothing that I can point out as something I didn’t like. All ok I would say
Pros: Stylish and very clean room ,beautiful landscape ,very friendly host, great breakfast
Pros: Lovely location, rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic! The staff were very welcoming and so helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Pros: The room was very particular and cosy The bathroom The position in the nature
Pros: The location is remote. It's a working farm with an olive grove and fields. The gardening and gorgeous and the communal farm table encouraged us to spend time with Helen and her family and the other guests. As a bonus, we were there for the 2018 World Cup match with France and Belgium. There were Belgian guests and Helen's son projected the match for us all to watch. Three other families, plus the owner's family all sat around the farm table, eating pizza from the local pizzeria, drinking beer and wine and enjoying a great match and good company. It will go down as one of the most memorable experiences of our two week trip to France.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: Everything was great. Great host Helene, with great communication skills and sense of humor. Great dog and cats. The GREAT design and cleaness. The view, the pool! The VERY BEST lunch in my life due to my birthday. Thank you much, Helene!
Cons: The only thing I should reccomend to the best and warmest host in the world is to find some solution against wasps on the swimming pool.

Pros: Very friendly and welcoming hosts, beautiful spaceous room, amazing view, separate terrace with pool
With a stay at Le Jas du Boeuf in Cruis, you'll be in the mountains, and 14 mi (22.5 km) from Sisteron Cathedral and 14.5 mi (23.3 km) from Sisteron Citadel. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: How quiet and isolated it was in the hills, great to go for walks or runs in the forest trails or just unwind by the pool. The dogs are a great welcoming party, will definitely be back again. Jerome and Dana are great hosts and great people in general. The property is situated on a large lot of manicured / forest gardens lots of areas to relax in but you will find yourself drawn back to the pool and that wonderful view.
Cons: The location has limited attractions in the area but we were there to relax and that we did. Our hosts gave us some great suggestions for doing a little sightseeing and more importantly where to eat. We stayed in the smallest room Oliviers in the house it is cave like and cool on a hot day but has limited space to stretch out in if it is raining. Would recommend spending the extra and getting one of the other rooms if available.
Pros: Our hosts, Dana and Jerome, were charming and very welcoming and provided lots of recommendations for places to visit and eat in the local area. The gardens are exquisite and the decor of the rooms is both stylish and comfortable. In addition, the homemade cakes, jams and granola for breakfast are absolutely delicious. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.
Cons: The weather!
Pros: Wonderful place, wonderful garden and very nice and kind owners.
Pros: Dana and Jerome are welcoming, generous and convivial hosts, and Le Jas de Boeuf is a beautifully designed retreat. The delicious homemade baked goods and smoothies for breakfast were a nice change after the ubiquitous croissants, and the infinity pool really is a stunner!
With a stay at La Bonne Etape in Chateau-Arnoux-Saint-Auban, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Sisteron Cathedral and Sisteron Citadel. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Planning an event in Chateau-Arnoux-Saint-Auban? This hotel features 1119 square feet (104 square meters) of event facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The restaurant was fantastic
Cons: The room was smelly, the toilet had poo in the toilet bowl but the room still smelt after cleaning. Don’t waste your money on a suite, ours was EUR404, very expensive for the room we had.
Pros: wine list and drinks price
Cons: Michelin star food experience disappointing
Pros: A beautiful place with a lovely pool. Beautiful room and bathroom.
Cons: The hotel and restaurant are very overpriced. The air conditioning in the room didnt work. The Michelin star restaurant was wholly disappointing. The service was superb but the food did not warrant a Michelin star. We ate far better in most other restaurants in France at a fraction of the cost. Would not return here.
Pros: The reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The hotel was lovely from the outside, the bedroom was large and the decor was nice.
Cons: The bedroom was very dark and looked out onto a wall, not a garden as promised. The pool was cold, not heated as described therefore swimming was unpleasant. The meal did not, unfortunately, live up to Michelin star standards. e.g. my honeycomb/lavender desert was so sickly sweet, I was unable to eat it all. The whole experience was far too ostentatiously stylish and chichi. Also very old fashioned e.g. woman given menu without prices; man given menu with prices ! We did not stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that.
Pros: The quality of cooking & food was high in the Bistro & very high in the main restaurant.
Cons: The breakfast had little choice. One type of bread only although there were the usual croissants & pain au chocolat & various cakes albeit of high quality. I saw no fresh fruit juice. There was fresh fruit. It was possible to order cooked eggs but the scrambled egg had the appearance of being made from dried egg. For the substantial cost, I would expect to have bacon, sausages etc & probably have the eggs cooked in front of me. Behind the hotel there was a large grassy area leading to the kitchen garden. This was in a very poor unkempt state with old pieces of hotel furniture & builder's rubble. The area around the swimming pool was tidy but the changing rooms/lavatories lacked soap & towels. Generally very, very scruffy. There was a building that had the appearance of a bar but no attendant & no drink. I ordered a drink from the receptionist which took nearly half an hour to produce. This is not what I expect of a Relais & Chateau hotel
Pros: The owner is nice and we liked her little dog. The property is very authentic Provence. Its off the beaten path. Near lots of hiking trails and little roads for biking.
Cons: When we arrived the owner had been called away and the women who checked us in was unable to answer any of our questions. It was a little unsettling. Fortunately I speak French. The room was very musty and hadn't been aired out in preparation for our stay. It was a nice room and bath. The window gave right on to a common area so not as private. There was a pool though it was marked private so it was never clear if we could use it. For breakfast there wasn't enough room at the communal table for us so we ate breakfast on the patio each day which was fine but a bit chilly. Odd that there wasn't a dining space large enough to accommodate all the guests.
When you stay at Auberge Les Galets Hotel Restaurant in Peyruis, you'll be 12 minutes by car from Ganagobie Abbey. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room and the restaurant are very good. We've been in the Indian one, very comfortable and beautiful! Great staff.
Cons: The room assigned to us claimed to be for handicapped people which only meant no bathroom door! No shower seat, no access to sink. Food inqualificabile: every dish was killed with spicy sauces preventing to savoring real taste.
Pros: Staff friendliness. The pool, the jacuzzi. Very good food.
Pros: The host was very kind and we didn't have to pay anything due to the unavailibility of the services.
Cons: We arrived very late in the evening and unfortunately there was a power outage and it was not possibile to enter the building with the electronic code or take advantage of hotel's services.
Pros: The room was decorated excellently and was immaculate with a private outdoor section, we were in the Rose room. The swimming pool looked good but we arrived in the evening so didn’t get to experience it.
Cons: The music at breakfast was little overwhelming for first thing in the morning, would have a preferred a little calmer music and service could have been a bit better at breakfast.
Pros: Good value for money - room and bathroom were simple and functional, and there was a small pool and hot tub - we stayed during the heatwave and the pool and air conditioning were key to the quality of our stay. Above all, what was fabulous was the dinner - well above our expectations.
Cons: the Auberge is on a main road which I hadn't noticed in the preview info - this is a beautiful area but the main road was not beautiful! Fortunately I had asked for a quiet room and we were put in a villa room well away from the main road.
Pros: Beautiful oasis just outside Peyruis, with amazing dinners. Kind, helpful, friendly and efficient staff, a lovely swimming pool with loungers in the shade and a comfortable attractively decorated bedroom with air-conditioning. Easy driving to lavender fields of Valensole.
Cons: It was all very nice.
Pros: The location The view around-We loved it
Cons: The cold reception - I came a long way to see this area I loved the area- so special- but the hotel reception is something that I found so cold There was no WiFi in the room. We sat outside to do the work and to write Thansk to the hot weather- we managed outside to finish what we need to write
Pros: Nicely designed rooms with plenty of character. The units really look like small condo apartments, very well equipped, modern and clean. Little touches like personal decorative elements make you feel at home. Lovely staff, 2 outdoor pool and jacuzzi. All well kept. Food from restaurant was delicious and very well presented. Overall lovely place to stay at!
Cons: The hotel is a little far away from everything, so nothing much to do Apart from eating swimming and relaxing. Breakfast was a little basic, however good enough to start your day.
Pros: The accommodation was excellent and the staff organised a delicious meal for us to have in our room as we arrived very late after the restaurant had closed. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will visit again.
With a stay at Les Grandes Mollières in Montfort, you'll be 15.2 mi (24.5 km) from Sisteron Cathedral and 15.7 mi (25.3 km) from Sisteron Citadel. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Fantastic property with large room, great shower, lots of outside seating areas. Host very welcoming, providing us a beautiful full meal after arrival at short notice with some other guests, dog friendly. Nice breakfast, very good stay.
Pros: Stunningly situated property, high up in the hills and very remote, with a fantastic panorama. Room was minimally furnished but comfortable and breakfast provision was plentiful. Cathy was very friendly and recommended a fantastic local restaurant for dinner about a 15 minute drive away. A memorable visit to this lovely area.
Cons: Access best suited to 4x4 vehicles- our little car struggled on the final unmade section of the access road.
Pros: A nice place in the countryside is not enough to deal with tourism
Cons: We had a two double rooms prepaid reservation. We had a problem on the road with the car and we called the property to inform we might have arrived 20/30 minutes after 10pm. She insisted that it would not be possible. As our french is poor we stopped by the road to ask a local to make the call for us, just to make sure we would not have got there and found the doors locked. Looked like there was no problem then. We arrived at the hotel at 10.20pm, nobody was there waiting for us. We entered the property, shouted for assitance with no results. We had to call by phone again and eventually she appeared. (Our fault we did not checked in advanced) we find out the rooms were at the second floor. My son is disabled and we needed to find out a solution. No way to get a ground floor room there, we looked for a room in a different hotel close by on the booking.com and we asked her to help us calling herself to make sure they did have a room with no stairs. She rudely replyed that they might speak english so we could have done it ourself. We found a room for my son and his wife 25km away and as me and my wife tried to help them loading back their luggage on the car, she rudely yelled at us to hurry up cause she needed to go to sleep. Me and my wife stayed for the night and the following morning we asked the attendat to talk to the owner in order to ask the possibility to have charged only one of the two rooms booked and prepaied. Looked like the owner was not there but she assured that "as you only took one room, you will probably have some remburse". It did not happen and we had no reply to any contact we tryed later, through emails and through booking.com. Only one single guest besides us was there that night and cause of our prepaid reservation she did not lose any business: other free rooms were there. The world is full of helpful people, especially with disabled persons. Unfortunately not in this place. On the other side we have to thank booking.
Pros: Very nice environment and beautiful historic building. Warm and inviting host. Nice spa included.

Pros: The staff/owners were very friendly and the breakfast ok. We appreciated having our motorbike housed in the garage around the back
Cons: The room and bed were very small and in our opinion the hotel expensive for the facilities offered. There was nowhere nearby to buy a meal or anything much.
Pros: Nice comfortable bed
Cons: 8e for breakfast was too much
Pros: Great breakfast for 7Euros. Close to National Parks. Chez Fred, next door, does Pizza, beer, and daily specials... Very friendly host and locals with free wifi.
Pros: Extremely good value. There was a free garage for the motorcycles.
