I think the hotel is located in the best area along the wine route. I wouldnt hesitate to stay in Ruffach again on my next journey to the alsace region. everything is very typical french. Dont expect anything to be new refurbished and when it is (as the spa) dont expect it to be european or american standard. After all - this is france!
Everything, top class.Enormous room, with a door leading straight on to the garden, enormous bed, well stocked mini bar, bathrobes.Excellent restaurant food was reasonably price cosidering the quality. The town(Rouffach) was shabby.
Excellent location and views. Outdoor pool very refreshing! Aircon in annex was a mobile unit and so a little noisy.
the location, the view, the park, the silence, exterior swimming pool 1. breakfast very expensive, middle quality, bad service, no refill, staff was preparing the tables for supper with a lot of noise during the breakfast 2. The exterior of "Pavillon Nantilde" (backside) is not clean and a bit "slumlike", does not fit to the image of "chateau"
The premises are wonderful and staff is very attentive
the heated pool sparsely furnished room and very dated decor, not what I would expect from a 4/5 star hotel
Beautiful chateau, great view and a genuine feel to it. Nice pool and sauna. Friendly reception staff and grand rooms. They even upgraded our room because of a late drop-out. The jacuzzi was not working.
Stayed on our way back from Switzerland - food superb, and room was slightly shabby chic, but clean and comfortable, good views from our room
location & pool
Cheap Plug in bathroom sink didn't work. Bad smell of corridors
Spa, swimming pool and sauna. Great location. Most of the staff is really nice only one or two people aren't very pleasant.
The staff was very kind. The bathroom not to comfortable, and the washbasin is in the room.
nearby restaurants : a cheap simple and an expensive one a mini-bar in the room would have been a nice additional luxury
Very friendly and cosy property standard rooms are not very comfortable, upgraded rooms are quite nice - however the price is very fair even for standard rooms.
Excellent food, pleasant staff and good localtion close to ferry ports and tunnel
Loved that the 2 restaurants were very nice and close to the hotel Best restaurant was grossly understaffed on the friday night we ate there. one waiter for 8 tables so service was unbearably slow. Food was excellent. Hotel pool was empty our first night there (and the pool was the main reason we chose to stay there w children!) then the next day the water was too cold to swim. Frustrating.
Very nice hotel, comfortable, very nice staff and good breakfast. Have eaten in the brasserie, very good food. Nothing
Quiet, clean (but even if clean dust lays on very fast), the breakfast is very copious
leisure facilities the room
Comfortable surroundings, good restaurant and off-the-street parking (no charge). Breakfast, while not included in the rate, offered an extensive array of choices and for 10 Euros was well priced. Shower/bathtub setup did not include shower curtain and we got water all over the place. But it was a minor thing that we could deal with and many people might not even care about!
Great location and secure car park No air conditioning so had to use a noisy fan
Friendliness of reception on arrival, could communicate in English, secure and free car-parking. Within walking distance of many good restaurants. Enguisheim is a picturesque town, with many floral displays, character houses over 400 years old and excellent locally produced wine
Good location, right in the center of the town, closed parking, cozy atmosphere. No possibility of reduced prices, standard price at the hotel is the same as the price on booking.com, no weekend-rates. Breakfast is on the expensive side and not really worth the 10 EUR
The location was great. Just a short walk up Grand Rue to the heart of the village. The staff was great, food was delicious and the parking secure. Found the room warm as the window would not remain open.
The Hostellerie Du Pape was delightful. Right in the center of quaint little Eguishem, the hotel had its own private parking and our room was quite comfortable. Internet access in the room was a plus.
We thought the Hotel restaurant was very good. The Hotel was having major work done on the floor above us.
Very good hotel, run by a very helpful young couple, in a beautiful little village. The dinner and breakfast were also very good. We had no problems at all - only a positive experience
location, location, location would have liked to have a mini bar
Right in the middle of a very picturesque village town in the Alsace region of France. Centrally located and an easy walk around the village.. No complaints
We loved being located right in the beautiful village of Eguisheim, within walking distance of the whole town, restaurants etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was simple but clean and all we expected. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant very popular in the evenings. We always found parking in the hotel car park or within 50m of the hotel. It would have been nice to have had coffee-making facilities in the room - maybe a fridge.
Breakfast, dinner and an excellent location for visiting the village on foot. -0-
Very good location in town center private car park charming hotel and town
The room was small, plain, and very basic. Clean, though. Great restaurant downstairs and parking was available. Good for a one night stop in a really picturesque town. The rooms was just too basic. The total lack of atmosphere in the room really detracted from the experience of visiting the town.
The room was very ncie and the building is really beautiful. Ther is also a private parking
Menu card only i french.
Very nice staff, room, bathroom. Clean, quite a lot of space, very nice location and view over wine fields. Note: we only stayed for one night. No airco, but we only stayed for one night and even though it was hot outside, the rooms were quite cool.
The personal touch of a family-owned hotel makes the experience special. We liked being amidst international guests from a variety of places. We would have appreciated an English news station on TV, but that was not serious.
Quiet place in the middle of vineyards, close to historical village with many good restaurants.
Quiet location in the vineyards on the edge of a very picturesque wine village. No shower curtain in tub. Rooms are slightly small.
Warm reception after a very long journey, travel kettle provided without problem, excellent room with small terrace, very clean and well furnished, good breakfast (bit expensive) available on terrace, lovely breakfast waitress, excellent restaurants nearby and beautiful old town. out-of-sight parking for motorbike. Very quiet at night. No bar or restaurant in hotel but enough close by.
Quiet, clean, off the beaten path but easy to locate. Owner was personable, courteous.
The host/clerk at the desk was very helpful answering questions and providing suggestions.. The man who met us at the breakfast site could not speak a word of English and bordered on being rude when we did not understand he wanted us to sit at a table with our romm number.
Stayed in very nice family suite with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom which suited us as a family with older children. Very comfortable. Breakfast a little expensive but very nice and plenty of food. Great to be able to walk 5 minutes to the village whilst a quiet place to stay.
The rooms were a good size, recently renovated and an original green color with nice paintings on the walls. The bathrooms are rather small and narrow. The decor around the hotel was a bit messy. Brkfst could have had more food from the region.
really enjoyed our stay nice staff and comfort and nice meals lovely village suroundings
Nice room, excellent food.
The attached restaurant was superb and the staff very friendly helpful and attentive.Location very close to Colmar and the Alsace wine route was great. It was unfortunate that we had a huge thunderstorn and at about 3 am something resembling an air raid siren went off for about 10 minutes. The local church also chimed in regularly. Thank God for the Pinot Gris which helped us get a little sleep
very good restaurant !
Good breakfast. Rooms basic and clean. Restaurant too gourmet and pricey for vacationers
The staff was not friendly at all. There was no English spoken to help us with checking in or out. We were treated rudely when paying our bill at check out time. The lady was not nice when we tried to understand the french we didn't speak. We were treated like unwanted guests.
Good diner and good breadfast Hard to find (only accessible via highway in one direction!), very small rooms, slightly unconcerned personel. More like a motel with a restaurant.
Friendly staff.Excellent Restaurant. Rooms are expensive for the low standard. Service at the restaurant is far too slow.
The staff was very friendly. The whole atmostphere was friendly. A Minor point: it's a bit difficult to find. It's accessible only from Rt. 83, a 4 lane motor route. It's next to the Total Station.
We think the hotel is very well situated for touring the surrounding area. We also thought that it was very comfortable, the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent staff, helpful and friendly. Restaurant is a separate operation to the hotel but the hotel staff ensured we got a table. Rooms just fine for a one-night stopover enroute elsewhere.
The views and countryside. Location to lovely villages. Noisey electrical system in room.
Everything - I was hesitating at first, as the picture on Booking.com doesn't do the place justice. I'm glad however I chose this place, as it turned out to be excellent. My room had been recently refurbishd, it was spacious and very clean, it even had a little balcony. The bathroom was brand-new, so was the mattress. No carpet, but pvc on the floor, I do think that's more hygenic anyway. Breakfast was good for French standards, good choice, not only jam and bread. Food in the restaurant was very nice, local cuisine, the Flammkuchen was excellent. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Friendly, quiet, comfortable, good restaurant, tea/coffee facilities in room
It is close to the Grand and the Petit Ballon, so an easy place for some trips in the mountains, and close to the bog auto-routes. So it is a nice in between hotel. our room on the second floor was very hot. The hotel provided an blower, but it relly needs an airco in summer. the hotel has no garden, terras oid.
excellent place for quiet rural stay and mountain climbing bed is so poor.. & too small room but it is cheap
Picine, sauna and nature on the surrounding The owners are nice but they were busy at the restaurant and we waited over 15 min to check in
It was a nice family run hotel. The atmosphere was informal and friendly The food including breakfast was excellent. The staff made a serious attempt to represent the terroir which was very welcome.
Nice location, close to Vin De Alsace route which was main purpose of visit
Nice and clean room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool. Room with a good balcony.
Very kind and helpfull
Friendly people, who tried to understand us and help us. We missed a little table in our room, to sit together.
