We really enjoyed our one night stay at L'Etoile and hope to return for a slightly longer stay sometime in the future. Our room was extremely comfortable and the meal we had in the restaurant was excellent.
coziness and atmosphere
As a frequent visitor of this Hotel I can see that this family is working hard to achieve the best possible quality as they continue to work on improvement. It really is a pitty that the restaurant is closed on Sunday evening and Monday evening. The kitchen is excellent. Everybody needs a rest. though and there are enough other restaurants nearby (ask the chéf and he will direct you).
confidence in us to enter the room without staff with the key laid down on a name list
Well run and very presentable hotel restaurant. Our room was spacious well apointed and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and the service first class.
Lovely rural setting. old world charm.excellent restaurant serving local dishes
The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the attention to detail. The village of Mittelhousen is lovely.
Excellent ciusine and comfortable hotel. Limited outdoor seating.
Very friendly, very clean, Air con. just a superb stay, will go again
A real gem. Beautiful hotel, excellent food, and a lovely quiet location. The rooms were all newly refurbished with superb bathrooms. Highly recommended.
Location very nice in lovely village with view op pond. Good food (small selection). 10 min from A4.
charming staff, good room with balcony and big shower. excellent food. will definitely return.
Nice location, excellent food, friendly staff. No
Quiet, calm, pretty location, good breakfast. The pillows were too soft/thin.
The room was of the optimal size. The breakfast table was rich of french bread and croissants, jam, cheese and salami, eggs and yoghurts, several kinds of coffee, tea and juice There was some problems with the shower cabine and bad smell from the bathroom
the color shower
comfort, cleanliness, practical The room in west side was very hot, and noisy. (First time we got room in east side which was perfect.)
The new concept of low cost in hotels. Although the hotel were only two stars, if you are hungry you have the possibility to eat (automate machine, but still food). The hotel is closed after 10 pm and you can get the key from a machine (which is great), but you can pay only with credit card. It will be great if you can pay with cash, also.
Location is good. Close to highway. There are fast food restaurant nearby. 45Euro for a single room with breakfast is very competitive. You can hear noise and sound happening next door. A guest next door fell in sleep before I did. Snore. Not good as sleeping pill.
excellent value, clean and simple without being too minimal night time automatic card entry system. it did not work reliably for me. someone had to let me in with their card!!
easy to access to motorway. When we arrived at the hotel after 10 pm, the parking gate was closed. It took a bit time to find out that we firstly had to check-in through a machine to get a card to open it.
very silent.like a home.clean and comfort
Location, cleanliness No hair dryer, breakfast was prepared from previous night, cold and stale
Near motorway to Paris, easy to access, quick check in/out Unable to get breakfast, didnt know about exisiting rules, no fridge in room
We loved our stay at Au Lion dÓr from the welcome we received on our arrival from both the helpful staff and the resident friendly golden labrador, our upgrade to a valley view room, the superb dinner and breakfast...to the fabulous location in this pretty town. No it was all good here.
Beautiful location in centre of village with views over the valley. Beautiful room Hotel receptionist a little bit arrogant on arrival. Good food in restaurant but very expensive and tables with a valley view were 'reserved' but not occupied during our time there. Tried to charge for breakfast we didn't have
Lovely looking hotel - beautiful location and friendly staff. Frustrating showerhead... Food was very good but very overpriced (not a lot of options in the off season).
Views, localization. 1. Only some representatives of personnel speak English. 2. It took 20mins to create the invoice at the end of our stay. 3. Poor selection in breakfast menu.
The food was quit good, as was the wine. Rooms at front have some trouble from traffic noise as of 5.30am.
Pleasant situation, confortable room and helpful staff Expensive restaurant
It was very quiet and relaxing. a very spacious room with good facilities, excellent views and a large bathroom with seoarate wc Some of the staff were a little off hand
beautiful location, great food, helpful staff, tranquil.
The helpfulness of the staff and the standard of the room - very comfortable
Locationwas great. One could enjoy hiking trails, especially in the fall. Persons at the reception were not especially friendly or helpful
It's location is good, en route to Germany as overnight stop. In the heart of Alsace.. great to simply be there!
The location was good and so was the food served at the restaurant. I don't think it was a good value for money. The service and poor.
excellent centre for walking and the local cuisine
The management and staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of Alsace, excellent views from our balcony over a wooded valley.
Stunning view from the room, friendly service, spacious room, good location (in the village and close to the start of the many walking trails) May need some refurbishment (carpets, furniture,..)
internet connection, view, pool room old-dated, food tasted old, tv only french, doggs in the restaurant, bad road to there
The view from the room and from the dining terrasse was magnificent. One member of the staff was not particularly service minded. We asked for help to catch a bus, however, we were cut off and referred to the tourist office (which was closed).
wonderful atmosphere, owner was very friendly
It's location on a hilltop and in the middle of a huge forest. The appearance as one approaches the hotel is wonderful. It would be beneficial to guests if they were advised to book evening meals and breakfast in advance. We wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant but there were no spaces.
Location - dramatic hilltop setting. Lack of a la carte menu for dinner (but it's only a relatively small hotel). Choucroute would not have been our first choice, but it's the regional speciality and the quality was good. We didn't try the breakfast in case it was more of the same!
Stunning location on a plateau within the Vosges forest, interesting buildings, beautifully kept grounds, great scenery, possibility for hikes and visits to nearby towns and villages bathrooms function but do need to be renovated to give them a fresher, more appealing look
The room was clean and the location is great The worst staff ever guys come on are you going to do something about this. we had to wait 15 minutes untill someone came to the reception for check in, great impression from the start what do you think? Then no water in the hotel in the morning and when you see the gm he could not care less, he just said that he did not had a problem as he had a special boiler for his flat. what a F... . at least apologise, and I love the written note on the top of the gm office, bureau des pleurs.... I think this will all tell about the hotel management
Stuning location! Great views all around from its hill top location 415 metres above sea level. Keep your eyes peeled for the sign on the "main road" - Vacanciel. It sits in the middle of about 70 sq kms of forest some 6km off the road. Forest roads are good if narrow & watch out for foxes, deer & sharp bends in the dark! Staff very friendly and helpful, we arrived at 7.30 pm without booking an evening meal, but one was provided & very good it was too. Great breakfast. Simple clean rooms, own shower and toilet. A range of activities is on offer - we missed the evening honey tasting. We stayed a couple of days exploring the Northern Vosge mountains - I wish it could have been longer. No.
A wonderful place!
lovely old village with beautiful houses
All the staff were very friendly and coped with our suspect language skills adequately. Food was good both evening and breakfast. Had some considerable trouble finding the hotel asthe road signs in and around saverne leave something to be desired.
very good restaurant
Selection of breakfast options At the time of our brief stay one side of the building was swathed in building works
The room was spacious, very modern, clean and comfortable. The food at the hotel was also excellent.
A very friendly and welcoming hotel. Knowledgeable and helpful staff and excellent food. The room was very comfortable.
Silence. Free parking. Location.
Pleasant small hotel in a charming Alsacian village, just a short detour from the Reims-Strassbourg autoroute. Good in-house restaurant. No bad points.
Friendly welcome.Central location and charming setting.
The Host, good wit and humour good local knowledge no
very good beds, shower, room equipment. the hostess helped me getting the right connection to Strasbourg. very calm. the breakfast was rather modest for its price: too little bread, only one choice of ham and no cheese at all, only one coffee fill without timely re-fill. I arrived very late one night and since the hotel restaurant was closed, there was no regular way of eating, but neither were there snack machines, minibar peanuts, or a flexible hostess of the hotel (whom i met and who did not offer something cold from the kitchen... it's not a major point, but neither is it good service).
Friendly staff, excellent greeting, good food, quality of their own brewed beer
Great spacious room, good food, nice location. quite cold in the room, but I liked it.
Good price There is no protection give a shower
The room was cheap. There was nothing available at this hotel in that it was a Monday and everything was closed including the restaurant in the hotel. We had to travel to the next town Hagenau to get something to eat. Reception also closed early. Reception staff not very helpful. No a/c in room and we couldn't leave windown open as it was easily accessible by a roof beside the window. Not much available in the morning food wise. Breakfast overpriced for what we got.
We found the hotel very convenient for an overnight stay near a motorway between Calais and the north of Italy. The breakfast was excellent and the staff most helpful. The modern decor was very tasteful. Air conditioning would have been appreciated. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed at the time of our visit.
Zeker kwaliteit voor uw geld. Personeel aan de receptie spreekt indien nodig engels. Het feit dat er op maandag rustdag is en er niet in het hotel kan gegeten worden zou tijdens de boeking onder de aandacht mogen worden gebracht.
Large Parking. Good breakfast. Silent. Clean. Possibility to arrive late in the night. Miss road direction to find the hotel.
Convenienty located transit hotel.
free onsite parking not the most comfortable room, but for the price you cant expect much more
There was even tea and coffee in the room!!
Our accommodation was comfortable and clean. Nothing at all.
Restaurant served tasty food at a reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent Everything was fine
This is a clean and inexpensive hotel, not too far from the highway. I would go there again.
Arrived to check in after shut and could not use automated systemas it not take regular credit cards. Spent night in car. Would not use chain again
Easy to find after a long day traveling. As all Campanile hotels you get what is says on the label: great for an overnight stop over.
Friendly staff, nice kitchen, nice buffet for lunch
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well designed room for handicapped guests. The room presented as three-bed was in fact standard double room with additional bed. As a result, the room was rather small for three people.
very friendly and warm atmosphere nice spa area, unfortunately the massages are really expensive
When you book a classical room, you get a room with a single persons bed, 140 cm, not big enough for 2 people. And these rooms have not been renovated. If you a book a room for 2 persons, there should be a bed for 2 persons, so 180 cm. The bathroom was very small and and old fashioned. The reception was not friendly, no possibility to get another room unless you pay a hugh supplement. And you cannot speak in the sparoom, no cell phones allowed and no smoking outside, not very recommandable for business people.
excellent facilities and good room. Hotel was not crowded and meals were good, especially breakfast. Nice terrace for eating out in good weather No tea / coffee facilities in room
