The Service is good. The workers there are always friendly, patience with smiles. The price for the loundry is too expensive.
The hotel is good, clean and very central. It has an underground carpark which is essential. n/a
It was centrally located enabling us to walk around the city in the evening to see some of Jena's sites. Nothing at all
The staff was very helpful and the stay was very pleasant.
Good location, parking garage underneath, bed was good. Free internet acces at the computer in the bar. The corridors to the rooms don't look very cosy. The bathroom is a prefab unit. Additional charges apply for wireless internet.
It was very central, adequate in comfort, had air con, which was very useful on a hot central European night. It had a feel on the former DDR in its decor, plastic wood and a sense of austerity. Generally, impersonal.
Near the E40 motorway. Great if you're tired of driving and looking for a place to sleep for as little money as possible but with a great comfort of well-known hotel chain. I found it quite unusual to have a bathroom sink in the bedroom. The rest of the bathroom appliances (bathtub, toilet, etc.) are in the bathroom, but sink was separated. That reminds me old, built in mid-50's or mid-60's hotels. It's not bad, it's just a bit odd.
The room is quiet good. Pillow is usable (often in germany there are too soft). WiFI is available for free in all room. Breakfast is good. The climate control system is old; not usable for all the night. The control informations are written in German. There are 4 steps in the middle of the corridor; you have to lift your luggage.
Clean hotel, good food, relevant location. The airconditioning was too loud to keep it on during the night. Opening the window was possible though and did the trick as good.
It was clean and friendly and what you expect from a Best Western... We found it perfect as a stop for our road trip... it was easy access right off the motorway...
Very good service level and well positioned for my visit to a local company - Jenoptik.
Good breakfast, good food at restaurant Difficult for traveler with many bags using public transportation
I stayed at Cafe Hoyer because it was half way to my destination. I wanted somewhere clean comfortable and cheap and the hotel ticked all the boxes. The owners were charming, friendly and helpful. Sadly I was too tired to take advantage of the beer garden and other facilities so am unable to give them an accurate rating.
size of room with seperate lounge.
Location 10km from Weimar, the purpose of our stay. Staff polite but not friendly. This seemed to be a B&B, not a hotel
The room was very big and comfortable with a separate foyer and bathroom. The bar downstairs is filled with smoke. This was a big problem for me. The only place the free internet worked was in the attached restaurant, which was just as smoky as the bar. This is also the breakfast room and I encountered the same situation at 9 AM. Also, upon arrival, one must enter through the bar to receive a key. The bar was so smoky that it did drift up the back hallway and into my room on the first floor. Fortunately, the separate foyer stopped the smoke from entering my bedroom.
Staff extremely pleasant, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Room was very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Nice pub. Would definitely stay again
We booked the family room, which turned out to be an apartment with two bedrooms and a living room area. The breakfast was good. No one was at the hotel when we arrived even though the information provided by booking.com said that check-in was available any time during the day. It was cold and raining, so my wife and son had to wait outside while I went to find a pay phone to call the hotel owner.
The hotel reception was closed until 17:00 (5PM) and I was left to wait in the cold rain for 90 minutes until a stranger found a way to contact the owner, when there was no response at the telephone number posted at the door.
Free internet access. Friendly staff. Large, clean room. Not negative, but good to know: only cash payments are possible. No cards.
It was close to the city centre and had free, secure parking No one helped us (3 guests) with the luggage on arrival or departrure
Closeness to the center of the old town of Weimar, friendliness of staff, and practicality of a well-equipped kitchenette.
Central location, friendly reception by staff, abundant choice of breakfast
nice traditional hotel in excellent location with free parking a second pillow would have been more comfortable
location, charm of hotel, great breakfast I wish a family room had been available
The location was fantastic: right on the centre of Weimar within walking distance of all the major tourist spots. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and my single room on the 3rd floor was lovely and very comfortable: it felt like home with the advantages of a hotel. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. The buffet breakfast was very good indeed with a wide choice of food in an airy and light-filled modern room in the back extension. The car park was most convenient and the hotel easy to find. No there was not. E=We had a very pleasant stay and on the day of departure were able to leave our luggage in the luggage room until 4 pm.
The staff were friendly and competent and the hotel was clean and welcoming in furnishing. A hotel without airconditioning on a hot summer week is not really nice when trying to sleep. I was "lucky" enough to have two windows', but of course one didn't open, so I couldn't even get a breeze developed through the room. Regardless the heat wasn't to bad, but it did make falling asleep difficult.
Very comfortable and attractive rooms, friendly staff and perfect location at very reasonable price. N/A
Breakfast was included, parking was free and at the hotel (not off site), very good location A printed, color city map would be better to give the guests rather than a xerox copy which was harder to read.
Location is great and the ambiance also No internet access in the room, and no coffee machine for expresso in the breakfast.
friendly staff, central location and very good value for money
Good location and rich breakfast. Friendly reception. N/A
modern building, fairly clean and comfortable really good variety of food in the breakfast buffet but it was rather costly too
Impressive architure, good sized rooms, good location, clean and well presented room. Staff polite and friendly. The mattress was uncomfortable - you can feel the bed springs digging into you, there should, as a minimum be an additional padded mattress cover. Also, the toilet paper is very cheap, like using sandpaper!!!
The hotel is in an ideal city centre location. It is light, airy, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the reception staff speak excellent English. The air-conditioning is centrally managed. While requests for changes in room temperature could be (and were) implemented via the reception, we missed the lack of control actually in the room - for example in the middle of the night.
The hotel is situated in the centrum of the city. The personnel of the hotel is perfect, rooms are very comfortable.
Very helpful staff and excellent rooms with good facilities. Very central in Jena and convenient for everything. For Booking.com: The hotel were expecting us, but had their normal room rate allocated to the group, not the discounted room rate I had booked through you. It was not a problem, and the hotel accepted this and took a photocopy of your booking reservation that I had printed off, but I would have expected the hotel to know about, and adjust, the room rate before our arrival.
Spacy room No atmoshpere, more a hospital than a hotel.
very clean room, good breakfast no
I have no idea of value for money. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee in the rooms. It would have been nice to have WiFi as standard.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were renovated and very nice to stay in; they were large and clean. The breakfast was pretty good and the restaurant really nice to start your day in. Although situated in a region of Jena, which is dominated by big blocks of flats, the view of the hotel (at least from my room) is a nice and quite green scenery. Most of the services were extra (e.g. parking, which was also relatively expensive imho). As the hotel is situated in the suburbs, you should better have a car to drive to the centre (which was nevertheless always easy to get to, we didn't face any traffic problems even in the morning).
I ate dinner with two others at the hotel one evening and it was very good. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. If something wasn't on the menu they tried their best to make something acceptable...and it worked out great for the two with special requests.. I found it a bit expensive, and there was just one flat pillow, but that was fine for me. The exercise facilities are minimal...no weights, just a stationary bike and treadmill. They tend to focus on spa services instead of fitness offerings. It would be nice to have a small gym for travelers who don't get a chance to get away from their work other than their night at the hotel.
Awesome breakfast! Needs an iron and tea making facilities in the room
The quiet location The ability to open a window and control the disired temperature at a level of simply switching off the heating No, whenever in Jena I stay in this hotel
Wintergarden very nice. Service during Breakfast to improve ! In parhouse too dark.
The decor. It was really nice
The hotel provides good amenities, comfortable rooms for the price. The location is bad. I went there by car, but had difficulties finding it. It is located far from the center, and in middle of Plattenbau district.
Clean and comfortable The bar was closed
Stayed 5 nights with no change of bed linen throughout the stay. Not good value for money €135
It is quite near the station and was very convenient for me when I arrived at 12 o'clock at night. The key code system for late arrival was very convenient. The internet was not free, but the cost of internet is lony 1 euro/day and very cheap. However, the connection was bad to use it continupusly.
It is very close to Jena West trainstation, the rooms are very clean, I was able to check-out an hour later then I was suppoed to. There is nobody at the reception desk after 2 pm on Sunday and if you arrive in the afternoonyou won't be able to ask anybody about restaurats to have dinner in or any other information and you won't be able to get Internet password until 7am the next day. There is no elevator so you have to carry your baggs up to the second floor up the stairs.
The location, and price/value ratio no
Rooms very quiet even if the hotel is located on a main road because bedrooms are on the backside. Breakfast good. Internet on a local PC not free but with a fee of 50 Eurocent per quarter of hour.
Recommend to prepare English. The staff should have minimum English skill.
Free Parking and nice breakfast No English speaking staff
Location is very good. Closed do the main road and can be found very easy. All bedrooms are on the backside and therefore it is very quiet inside even with open windows. Breakfast is good. Free parking. Connection to the free Wi-Fi internet requires complicated authorization process in German. Even you succeed the signal is low and connection is not stable.
The hotel is only 5 minites from the centre of Weimar. A fair relation between price/quality
convenient location, big room, clean no complaints
Nice, clean and quiet room The staff doesn´t speak English. It was really difficult to find the hotel if you arrives fomr Weimar.
location and facilities
Friendly and professional staff, great choice at the restaurant, continental and english breakfasts, rooms properly clean. Just one small packet of soap in the bathroom.
Convenience to airport. good facilities for value for moneY No English speaking TV channels - not even CNN
I stayed just for one night but I enjoyed the stay very much, particularly for the room and the silence. no
Excellent location - close to town centre and also overlooking the Apolda castle.
Everything: room, food (very good restaurant), facilities, friendly staff A minibar and a safe were not in the hotelroom, would be nice.
Easy and comfortable parking. Varying and good tasting evening meny. Not so easy to find the way from Weimar Centre in the evening. You could have written that we should pass below the Autobahn, that had made it easier. The spa department was very silent and had no staff. I turned in the door and did not want to swim at all.
The hotel was an interim stop on our travel. Staff was professional and helpful. Facility was kept well.
Too far for a backpacker.Required for additional paying without any booking price( only this case for a long trip ) Too distant for a tourist without a car !!
The Staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good value for the additional cost. Location was convenient. There was nothing we did not like.
A warm welcome with a clean good size room and comfortable bed. Excellent value for money
Really clean; excellent breakfast; lovely swimming pool
clean, efficient and helpful staff - we just overnighted on transit to Dresden and were most impresssed with the staff in the resturant as we turned up late and they still made the effort to supply dinner after 10 pm
We liked it all, and would like to return another time
private reason The noise of the air condition system in the whole area during the night.
The generous lay-out, the quiet surroundings and the lovely breakfast The fact that there is only one armchair in the double room. Also the pillows were too limp and lumpy and there was no additional pillow to help one get more comfortable
despite language challenges staff were extremely helpful.Meals available could accomodate my need to avoid wheat-really affordable 7.50euro for cold buffet including soup, salads, meat cheese etc and dessert.Room clean and very comfortable.Accomodation price included breakfast The spa was a 1-2min walk, shops and alternative eting venues within walking distance. Exceptional all round, met all my needs and more no
This historic hotel serves a very well breakfast. A wireless interenet is also available directly from the room. A ventilation noise in the buth room can be minimized.
breakfast and proximity to the downtown very poor english
Central location, a bit too high price The internet did not work and th staff did not seem to care
Apart from room, the hotel feels like a solid, traditional, high quality hotel. Restaurant was good - good food and good service. The room decor was a little old fashioned, bar service was very slow, checkout was slow too.
Breakfast was good. The hotel is located near the city center, about 10 minutes by foot. The hotel does not have air conditioner and during out stay it was really hot. We left the window opened during the night but the temperature didn't drop
Good Free internet access. Good Size room. Good restaurant. Nice slightly old fashioned ambiance. Limited English TV channels. Poor parking.
Air-conditioning was marginal to ineffective
Very helpful staff, comfortable room in a historic setting close to central Jena. Good food, definitely not an impersonal chain hotel. Air con would have been nice, but it would be difficult, I imagine, to install it in such a historic building.
very central and at night it was very quiet!
Hotel is in a good location and is clean and tidy. It is the third stay at this hotel and the restaurant food is lovely.
