As with all Kimpton Hotels, the decor is amazing & very much in-line with my aesthetic. We also really enjoyed the location of the hotel; we stayed over 2 very nice days & walked 30 minutes down Passyunk and over to the far edge of Rittenhouse multiple times. We tend to spend most of our time out-and-about, but the time spent in the hotel was very nice. We requested a room away from the elevator, which they did not oblige. We were essentially directly next to the elevator bank, however it ended up being quite. That said, we were there on a Monday night, I'm sure the weekends are a bit rowdier. Bed was not very comfortable (for me, the BF loved it), the outlets stopped working in the bathroom in the middle of my blow out & could not be fixed, the internet did not work the day we checked in. Also...there is not much follow-through from the staff; we had requested a later check-out that they never acknowledged until we were physically there and brought it up ourselves again during check-in. We asked for a room away from the elevator bank, but were put in one directly next to it. Tried to order room service & the person on the phone said they would have to call back to 'confirm the order' but never called back..the food appeared 20 minutes later, cold. Negatives aren't the end of the world, but there are definitely some things we weren't thrilled with. But the staff, including the valet, were lovely & very friendly.
Very stylish hotel with comfortable rooms. Staff was friendly and attentive. But the best part is the location, you're across the street from the birthplace of our nation!
It was a really nice hotel - beautiful room and facilities- great location. The bartenders in the bar were really helpful and gave better suggestions for what to do in the city than the reception and concierge. No bathtub in room - despite beautiful picture. This is the 3rd or 4th Kimpton Hotel I've stayed in but the least intimate. Hotel was a little busy and staff could be a bit warmer and more helpful.
Great location for my work. Great restaurants in walking distance. Nearly ruin my shirt with a rusty iron.
We love the staff as they are professional and fun. They offer free happy hour and coffee in am! This is a big deal and makes people feel welcomed. The rooms are stylish and cozy! We had a 2 month and 14 month old children who loved it too! Smaller elevators but it was doable...we just have 2 kids and a huge stroller ;)
We got the corner king spa room and couldn't be happier. The room was spacious, and the views made the room look even bigger. The bathroom was on point, and the big soaking tub was great. We usually stay closer to Rittenhouse square but we didn't mind this location too much, there is tons to do in this part of downtown! The staff was very friendly and made check-in and check-out a breeze.
I left an expensive piece of technology in the room and when I returned a couple hours later, the staff said they didn't find it.
I had a great experience staying at Monaco, from price to service everything was perfect. I think they should have better pictures of the corner suite on there website, because there suite was better then the pictures shown.
Love atmosphere and staff. Location and style is also a plus. It's friendly for us with our 2 kids under 2. The bed was not as comfortable. We usually have a king size bed but opted to 2 queen size and I would prob not do that again.
Stayed for NYE.. very nice hotel. Excellent staff. A bit pricey. Would consider a return trip.
Nice location for nightlife and history tours. I receive a monthly check from the VA for a service connected disability -- my ONE night stay cost more than that entire check! And for what? I received no continental breakfast; parking is $50 a NIGHT; and my room with a king-sized bed was tiny. No idea if internet was included, as I was not given a password. I wanted to sit in my room and prepare for a speech I had to give, but, my absurdly expensive room did not come with a chair besides an ergonomically nightmarish desk chair. I had a ton of clothes because I was there for a three day wedding, so my hands were full. I received no bell-service, carried all my stuff to my room, and the keys didn't work; so I had to lug everything back to the front desk. Had to iron shirts for the wedding, the ironing board looked like it was bought from a yard sale. For the cost of this room, I expect quality amenities. Also, the bouncer for the rooftop bar, who looked a like a teenager, watched one of the wedding guests get assaulted, laughed, and did nothing. Honestly, we should've called the police. Posh and ostentatious, with little reward. Go somewhere else.
Each and every corner of the hotel is just amazing. Love it!!
Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Hotel overall appearance was good and stylish. Parking rates were outrageous. The bar was terrible and the drinks overpriced. I know the main restaurant/bar was closed for renovations, which explains the awkward positioning of the bar, but the prices for drinks were way too high given the bartender quality and overall market positioning which is heavily influenced by the bartender. Drinks were priced about 30% higher than they should have been, especially given the fact that I had to explain to the bartender how to make a simple drink like an old fashioned. Huge fail in an area where there are too many alternatives.
Hilton is pretty much a hotel where you know what you can expect from them and it generally is a notch above their competition. Security in the lobby at midnight when I arrived due to loud and obnoxious people at bar. Hard to hear upon check in which was late. They put me in a room that is exactly the OPPOSITE of my profile request. No room by elevator... put me right next to it. Neighbors partied all night and hotel phone didn't work to call to resolve issue. When I finally got it to work, they never resolved the noise. When I asked for the room to be refunded and cancel the remainder of my stay, they refused! Since when did we begin getting held hostage by hotel companies? Very unusual for Hilton brand, but this staff at THIS hotel have work to improve.
Waterfront view was very nice. Staff was friendly (we only interacted with the fromt desk). Clean room & hallways. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Nothing spectacular, a prettt basic room. King bed, desk, desk chair, loung chair with ottoman, dresser, tv above dresser, coffee maker, empty mini fridge. It was a nice view but nothing luxurious. The wifi is paid, not included. $32 self park, $42 valet.
Clean room, everything worked. Staff was friendly. Decent restaurant downstairs. Nice view. The waterfront location means you're a bit removed from everything else. No street parking, and self parking is thirty per night.
I really didn't know what we had gotten ourselves into until we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised. This is the perfect location and is close to everything. There is an adorable little park right outside that has cute little events all summer long. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Oh and did I mention the view??? Amazing!
I love the energy from the staff to even the parking attendants. The pool was phenomenal and the breakfast was amazing. definitely a hotel to visit again when in the Phila I hope to visit the penns landing Hilton family again soon Parking was expensive I ended up using street parking across the street and paying for the meter.
Great location, fun park right outside. Great staff & fantastic room!
Location The room and the bathroom had an awful smell. Please add better room and bathroom spray
The staff at the front desk were exceptional and extremely helpful. The doorman and valet were amazing providing information about the city and transportation. The restaurant and bar were horrible! Service was slow and overwhelmed but they tried hard to provide service. Our burgers were not cooked properly. My burger was burned and my fiancé asked for medium rare and got well done. We sent it back and the burgers still were pathetic and not good. We ate them anyway we were starving after traveling all day. Later that evening after returning from dinner out and a bit of shopping we went to the bar for a night cap and waited 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us and then another 20 minutes to get a simple captain and Coke and a lemonade -- needless to say we walked out!
Profesional and friendly staff. Parking way too expensive. 44 per night for valet and 32 to park yourself but gotta take 3 elevators and various walkways to get to your car.
Paying $30+ for parking that should have been included
We stayed one night and decided to extend our stay for two more nights. The location was perfect - walking distance to historical points of interest in Philadelphia and to the wedding and reception we attended. The room was well appointed with a nice view. Nothing.
The downstairs spa and pool was relaxing and very clean. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly and quick to take care of anything we needed. Even though the valet parking quickly retrieved our car and due to the difficult nature of street parking in Philadelphia, well worth the cost. We had a wonderful time at the Franklin.
Housekeepers were the nicest people in the whole facility Let me see Spa - the massage therapist texted on her phone through the entire massage, massaging with one hand then putting phone on my back Front desk - asked for late check out, was told it was not possible because hotel was sold out that night. As the conversation progressed or digressed as the case may be, was told that I could extend for another night. Not sure why it's okay to lie to people to their face Summary - not only will I never stay at that hotel again in philly, I will never stay in an Omni again. Not sure why the employees don't understand that their pay checks come from money paid by guests. You might want to let them know how the revenue is generated. Sad day
Loved everything except restaurant staff. The front desk staff was excellent! I tried to call in a pick-up order, and your restaurant staff was rude and didn't put in my order.
Beautiful rooms with attentive staff and great location. My stay couldn't have been better! Can't wait to return to the Omni.
Breakfast not included
The location is perfect in the center of the historic district of Philadelphia with top restaurants within a short walking distance Hotel is a bit tired and could use quite a bit of updating.
Great location, friendly staff. Noisy refrigerator in room.
The location was great--right across from independence park with many other attractions within easy walking distance. We had a great view of the park through two big windows in our room. The staff was very friendly. Although the hot tub was broken and much missed, the spa was otherwise very enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the valet and doorman offering to allow us to park in front of the hotel while we loaded the car with our luggage. The drapery partly obscured the great view, and could not be pushed out of the way.
Room fab! Parking fee was ridiculous!
Location was awesome. Staff was friendly. Terrible TV...too small and very blurry. Food menu was weak...not enough variety and over priced for the quality. Should not have had to pay an extra 30.00 for one nights parking...outrageously over priced and a very sneaky added expense.
Very close to the historical sites, restaurants and Penn's Landing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Having access to the Club Lounge was very convenient to get breakfast or a drink to go. Only valet parking available. Getting used to the noise of the heat/Air conditioning unit turning on and off. It was very quiet while it was running, just the starting and stopping noise that might wake you up if you aren't use to sounds.
The hotel had a great feel when you walked in. It looked very clean and modern. When we arrived Saturday afternoon, there was no doorman to help with the bags. I ended up running into someone when I went to get a cart who was hanging out at the front desk talking. Also I was putting a stroller and there wasn't anyone to assist with holding the door open. Lastly, there were 2 weddings going on. From our room, we could hear the DJ until past 11:30 at night which isn't ok when you have small children and if you are a light sleeper.
Bell hops and valets were very kind and professional. Pet policy is not clearly stated on their website. We arrived at the hotel with the intention of sightseeing and ended up being stuck in our room watching our dog because the policy doesn't state online that you have to stay with him at all times even if he's in a crate. This made us on able to benefit from our complementary breakfast since he was also not allowed in the dining area and the entire purpose of the trip was for a Valentine's Day getaway with my husband. It left us leaving the room individually and scrambling for last-minute plans. We did not get to enjoy our vacation the way we expected to and were even more upset that when we called to ask about the policy that we weren't informed in advance. We did not get told until after check in
Comfortable beds, nice lobby with Starbucks coffee, continental breakfast, late room service, within walking distance to many things and short cab ride to airport
Good check in person Internet service
Access to historical sites and great restaurants
We only stayed for a night so did not get to take advantage of the beautiful lobby with many seating areas from high tops to cozy couches. Somehow it felt very open yet very homey and welcoming at the same time. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Very friendly staff. The heater in our room sounded like a mini-explosion every time it kicked on. The walls were paper thin. We were wakened by two female voices and two babies at 7:30 am. I would have sworn they were in our room.
Location Small room and no facilities at a price that is equal to Sheraton and Hilton level hotels
The hotel location is excellent. It was within a short walking distance to many of the area attractions. Having a very nice breakfast in the hotel was a delightful way to start the mornings. The breakfast room reminded me of a hotel in Rome, Italy. It would be nice to have a mirror over the desk in the bedroom so one could be dressing, applying makeup, etc while the bathroom is being used.
Location, Staff, Lounge, Room, Breakfast.
Convenience to area
The hotel was located in a great location. My boyfriend and I liked the fact that we were able to walk to most of the famous sites around town and we both enjoyed the friendly staff. I checked the website before booking the hotel and I was shown a larger room. I was disappointed with the size of the room and felt like I was given false information and paid alot for a very small room.
The small room was charming and, despite the age of the hotel, all systems worked beautifully – HVAC, plumbing, wifi.Common rooms were elegant and comfortable to read or work in. They are dedicated to paper and plastics recycling ... a nice contrast to so many larger hotels. Breakfast was skimpy and bread products were dry. Juice or a fruit bowl would have gone a long way to making this a memorable stay.
Great location, beautiful hotel, lovely room. Tea & cookies in the afternoon is a nice touch. Rubbish TV. Breakfast should be better
The room was lovely. Staff was helpful and cordial. Great location. Breakfast could be upgraded.
I Beautiful old house with charming rooms. Despite the house was build in 18th century it is very well equiped, only elevator is missing. Perfect location: in the very center of the city, but away from traffic, so it is very quiet at nights.
Great location, close to independence hall. Restaurants & bars within walking distance. But shower pressure could be better and you can feel vibrations from the underground trains (during the day only)
The easy way of behaving
The staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the rooms were gorgeous and historic with walls full of books, and the homemade, warm cookies during the complimentary afternoon tea were to die for! Oh and the toiletries were all paraben-free, too! There was some rumbling of underground trains at regular intervals - enough to shake the teacups but not enough to keep us awake. And there's no lift, so if your room is on an upper floor, you might have problems with heavy luggage.
interesting old building, home style breakfast no amenities
staff was nice, beautiful setting and building.
A lovely old home, now an attractive and conveniently located small hotel. Staff is attentive, rooms are clean and comfortable (two fireplaces in my room last night!) and breakfasts are lovely.
Nice friendly place to stay especially if female on own. Central to everything in Philadelphia. Meal in courtyard was good too.
the location was perfect for seeing the city it was quite loud, the payment process is sketchy (pay at a convenience store down the street)
The location was in the heart of the Old City District. The room was very small and did not seem to fit the rate.
I loved their location and the vintage feel the old building gave. It would have been great to get an idea of the history of the building and why it was still standing after so many years.
Nothing The rooms do not match the pictures what so ever. The bed for sure had to have bed bugs and the restroom had roaches. I didn't even stay for a few hours before I left. Reminded me of a room out of AHS.
Very loud music from restaurant downstairs
For the location, the price is pretty good This hotel is a dump. Some people call it character, but that's nonsense. You don't automatically get to say something has character just because it's in an old building. Dirty carpets, broken down beds, busted blinds, missing ceiling tiles, leftover dirty laundry from previous guests, showers that don't drain, and a staff that's only there a third of the day are not "character" features. They're poor maintenance issues. Don't go here unless you're strapped for cash and plan on spending very little time in the room
The location of this hotel is about the only good thing I can say. It's right in Old City and just about anything you could want to do is within walking distance. They were very misleading about the size and the amenities. Our "seating area" was a wooden chair. It was not very clean. The worst part though was the mouse that was sharing our room... Very disappointed in this hotel. Will not be back. Ever.
This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at!! The room was unclean, cramped, paint peeling off the walls, mold in the bathroom and not cleaned until we complained. No elevator!
Location was perfect in the Olde City of Phildelphia. One block away from Independence hall. You can hear everything, the wall were thin.
I felt this place was very laid back with a hip set up as well as staff. I got the feel this was a alternative dorm for the neighborhood!! Lack of privacy...... yet, i didnt have to stay there either!! :)
Front desk staff were very helpful in supplying directions and ideas of what to see. In the historical district. Bed and room were comfortable. Pub/bar next door is generally not that noisy except for one night pre-Halloween when it was extremely noisy. Liked having a washer/dryer - it really helped as travelling light. Grocery store around corner is open late. Easy to get to via train from airport. Or cab is about $30 (used this for early morning flight on return). Bathroom could use a bit more cleaning but it was clean enough. Bit far from rest of downtown but subway provides easy access or you can walk. Streets in area deserted if walking home late at night - recommend take subway (stop is only a block away) or take a cab.
I liked the helpfulness of the staff and the location of the hostel no negative emotions whatsoever
Downtown Philadelphia, old city district. Very nice personnel, cheap rates. no
Male dorm smelled strongly of mildew
Very nice personnel. Location is very good. Perfect place for budget staying for 1-5 days in Philadelphia.
The fact that the have events every night, making more easy to talk to the people how are in the hostel.
