Everyone from the two gentleman at the front desk to the woman who cared for us in the 'pub' was extremely pleasant. They obviously value customer service a lot.
The only nit-picky thing I can even think of to put as 'bad' would be that the doors and fixtures for the door seem older and don't seem like the most secure thing.
In my 5 day stay the only issue I encountered was the room temp wouldn't adjust - a quick call to the front desk and a friendly maintenance person was there in 5 min to apologize and completely resolve. Everything was nice, clean and great! I found my room to be quiet and comfortable too.
I'm not familiar with Phoenix and thought this location was central to the area I was going to be spending time in - there was tons of dining options around but otherwise I found that I needed to drive quite a ways to get where I was going.
Updated showers are nice
Sound insulation in the walls & floors is non-existent.
Room size was fairly large and shower and bathroom facilities were adequate. Location was close to restaurants and very near where we were visiting
Mattress was uncomfortable and lumpy and housekeeping neglected to clean every day that we stayed
Hotel was easy to find, clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. My disappointment was that the room I was provided was very musty, and was more than likely a smoking room, the web site described the room only as a special. Wish I had known. While the smell of cigerettes was not overwhelming it was enough that I found it irritating and would not stay here again.
At 9 PM we had someone claiming they were "management" knock on our door for absolutely no reason. 10 minutes later we hear someone in the neighboring room DRILLING AT 9 PM AT NIGHT! I was so upset that I asked to have my room changed immediately. On top of all that there was so much noise in the hallway and there is a nearly 2 inch gaping hole at the bottom of the door you can hear almost EVERYTHING going on outside. While we did get a different room the quality of the room isn't nearly what I expected for the price. I'll probably never stay at a Renaissance again.
Excellent location, comfortable beds, really nice room.
Staff was very friendly and professional. It was clean also.
Minor thing- The sink fixtures were loose. It looked like our room was recently remodeled.
Clean, comfortable , close to shopping.
Easy access to where I needed to be and surrounded by restaurants. Perfect for me
Breakfast Buffett not worth the money.
The bed was so comfortable, the staff was great, and the area is seedy but near a lot to do. Great food within walking distance.
We had Mosquitoes in our 5th floor room, and the "a/c" was a fan that sounded like a generator and didn't hardly cool the room when it was set to 65 degrees which was disappointing and uncomfortable.
Room wasn't ready by the time it was supposed to. Reservation was incorrect
Well-kept property. Nice spacious room. Good bathroom. Friendly staff.
Far from central Phoenix, but a better deal than staying in close.
Soiled carpets in public areas and hallways.
The hotel had the wrong date on the reservation and asked for a copy of the confirmation. I already knew almost all hotels in Phoenix were booked so I was worried but as soon as I gave them my confirmation for that night, they very quickly accommodated me and seemed anxious to correct the error. The hotel was very clean, nicely remodeled.
The room's AC appeared not to be working.
Rooms were nice. The place was clean and appealing to the eye. The TV was nice and modern. The bed was comfy. The Keurig was nice and having a fridge was a bonus. Lots of food and shopping options nearby. The staff was very helpful when we had issues with the air conditioning.
We reserved the room for 4 people and we recieved a room with a king sized bed. There were no availble family friendly rooms. The air conditioning did not work, we ended up having to change rooms. Room service called for no reason at 6am when we had not requested any room service. House keeping was knocking on the door very early.
It was obvious that, back in the day, this was a smoking room. You just can't hide that smell. It has probably permeated the popcorn ceiling which is another sign of the age of the place. Won't stay there again.
The Staff was very nice
Aweful, I should have know better when I checked in, as the people in front of me were complaining about the rooms. Construction debris everywhere. It looks like the hall ways had not been vacumed this year. The A/C did not work in the room, it only blew out warm air. The sink constantly ran hot water, no one was able to turn it off. It was so hot that you could not even touch the spicket. Also the doors had no hardware on them. When we asked to change rooms we were told none were available. I find this shocking as there were only a handful of cars in the parking lot.
I really liked the staff. Seemed like they cared to accommodate their guests!
It's a new hotel still having construction going on. Caused lack of sleep due to construction noises and lack of experience fixing fire alarms.
