The music was over the top loud. We actually switched tables because of the noise. A live dj really. Food was tasteless. Very disappointing. Many many better places in Phoenix and Scottsdale to eat. Won't be back unless we hear it has changed. The waiter and waitress both had to shout to be understood. Overhyped and didn't deliver on the appetizers or main courses. Three of the four at our table didn't finish their dish. Whole scene was a confusing mess. Not sure what they are trying to do.

It's got a VERY informal spaghetti western feel. The ambiance and service are more Perkins than fine dining. BUT - the Focaccia di Recco with the stracchino cheese and sea salt was one of the most delightful things I have ever eaten. It is so light, it almost floats, yet packed with flavor. It's not focaccia - it needs a new name all its own. The burrata with winter peas is a different story. There was a tiny bit of cheese, which looked and tasted like ricotta not burrata over a copious amount of undercooked peas. I would not order this again. For entrees, the signature dish, the Pomodoro, was delicious. Extremely flavorful sauce and just made pasta. Plenty of it, too. If I were a judge on Top Chef or Chopped I would say to Scott Conant - it was a little thick and pasty. It needed a couple of tablespoons of pasta water to loosen it up. My husband had the ricotta mascarpone gnudi. Like the focaccia, it floated off the plate. Melt in your mouth gratification. THEN came the coconut cake. We had seen numerous plates of the mountainous cake pass by and just had to have it. What a LETDOWN. Not sure if our cake was several days old or if it's supposed to last like a dry flavorless hunk of nothing. We have had the famous coconut cake at the Peninsula Grill in Charleston and it looks just like the Mora cake - But NO COMPARISON. Better cake at any chain grocery store.

Overall a great dining experience. The music was very loud, the bass was actually shaking the seats, we had to strain to hear each other. The service was excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. \nWe had the meat & cheese plate which was delicious. Very fresh and vibrant ingredients. One complaint would be that it came with only 3 pieces of bread and there were 4 of us at the table. \nMy son ordered the Pasta Pomodoro on our servers recommendation and it was fantastic! All our meals were delicious. For dessert we split the coconut cake and I enjoyed the Espresso Martini, hic!\nWe will definitely return but with a hope the music is quieter or we get a table on the patio!

We had the meatballs for appetizer, which were very good. The pasta was excellent. My husband had the short-rib dinner which was a huge disappointment. The meat was chewy and very unappetizing.

Share a Mora Margherita pizza to start, it's delicious. I had the gnudi which just melts in your mouth and my husband had the pasta pomodoro which was delightful. The portions are the right size and allow you to enjoy a dessert. If you're looking for huge plates with too much food this isn't your place. If you truly want a great food experience than this is your place. Also, the salted caramel budino has to be the best dessert I have ever had. Trust me, get your own, you won't want to share that one.

I am disappointed. We had reservations on a weeknight before 6pm, and were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our table wobbled, but our server, Mike, sat on the floor and solved the problem by adjusting a table leg length. Call me a bubbly snob, but my prosecco was served in a coupe instead of a flute or tulip glass, so the bubbles dissipated quickly. My husband enjoyed his whiskey cocktail. Our bread board was comprised of country bread (very good, with crisp crust), Stromboli (way too salty), and focaccia (good). The spreads (mascarpone butter, eggplant caponata, roasted garlic, and artichoke spread) were flavorful. Unless you are a big eater, or very hungry, I do not recommend ordering this for only two people as it will go to waste if you are saving room for dinner. My octopus antipasti was very good, as was my husband's bean soup (but we had to ask for a spoon). However, my orata (mild white fish with farro and melted leeks) was not well seasoned and to me one dimensional and the fish a little dry. It really needed salt and the brightness from the grilled lemon half which was served on the side, but which was slippery and shot from my fingers as I squeezed it. Luckily, I got some of the lemon juice on the fish and farro which improved its taste immensely. My husband's pasta pomodoro was ok, but he did not like it well enough to take the leftovers home. The tables are close together, it is pretty noisy, and when the sun is setting, there is no screen to shield diners and staff from the blinding light-women were grabbing their sunglasses, dining companions were sitting awkwardly to help block the light. After the social media buzz and waiting two weeks (we could have reserved sooner but we prefer to eat earlier in the evening), I was expecting something more. The service was the highlight of our meal. But the food, the noise and the blinding light from the setting sun...I doubt that we will return.

We were really looking forward to eating at Mora Restaurant. I made a reservation for six and invited friends who enjoy exploring the Phoenix food scene. Unfortunately, I think they are still dealing with new restaurant woes as the food and service were underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. While we had a dinner reservation, we were sat 30 minutes after the reservation start time and only after I mentioned something to the manager. While we waited, we got drinks at the bar. The bar staff asked us to move twice because the bar area was full and the only places that we could find for our party we were told were not allowed. We ended up having to awkwardly stand in an area by some steps and close to dinner tables. The restaurant has a nice bar area and outdoor seating area, however, it is hard to appreciate it when you are not provided options for where to wait for your table and then being asked to move. Menus were provided once we were sat, however, I had to approach the manager again so that we could place the food order. When the food finally came, it was over salted. While we did appreciate that they did not charge us for the food due to our unpleasant experience, I was surprised that both food and service missed the mark. I would recommend waiting a few months to see if things improve and/or if better training is provided to ensure a positive dining and service experience.

Our waitress Rene came to our table and immediately notices the table wasn't even. Without missing a beat she dropped down and fixed it. That supreme level of customer service continued throughout the night with her recommendations and input. There was one small mistake in our order as my wife can't have cheese, Rene took it back and a manager was at our table immediately to address the situation. The meat and cheese board was fantastic. Only thing we didn't care for was the seat at the high top tables in the bar area ( not the bar chairs as those were comfy). Those tables have one comfy bench side and one chair that was not that comfy, I'm not an overly large man but it made me feel like one. Looking forward to going back.

Had to try Mora. And I am so glad I did. Everything was perfect from the friendly greetings when we walked in, to a staff person willing to stand to block the sun from blinding my wife for 10 minutes until it set. Food was presented beautifully, and cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and yet not intrusive. The timing of our courses being brought out was quick as we completed each, but we never felt rushed. We will definitely make Mora one of our go to places.

A mixed and disappointing bag on our first visit. \n\nOn the plus side, the service was great and staff seemed genuinely attentive and enthusiastic. They were knowledgable about the menu and overall took good care of us.\n\nSadly, the food was a different story. I had the cavatelli, with duck ragu and truffles. My pasta was undercooked and the duck was flavorful but very wet. So it was an interesting combination of part underdone and part soggy. \n\nFor a side I had the brussel sprouts, but they were so covered in the topping (bacon and chili) I had to dig to find the sprouts. And then the first one I tried was burnt. There were a few good ones in there when I scraped off much of the topping, but it sure didn't impress for the work.\n\nTo be fair, my dinner date had the cavatelli as well and she liked it, so maybe I just got a bad plating. She also liked her beet side dish, as did I (I ate most of them since I was so disappointed in my own order).\n\nOh, and the bread board was a good way to start things out, it was just a shame it went downhill from there.

Been in the industry for a while and I must say that hands down this was the best service I've received top to bottom. Walking in early for the reservation, the host took my name and I informed her we would be grabbing a drink at the bar until our reservation was ready. The bartender Crystal was super informative about not only the cocktails but also took the time to take us through the menu and some of her favorites. The hostess found us at the bar and informed me by name that our table was ready and made pleasant conversation on the way. Our server Brian was equally fantastic taking us through the menu and being patiently understanding that we were there to take our time and explore the menu course by course. Bread cart was the perfect starter for the table and the octopus was great. The Gnudi was delicious and the short rib, while not what traditionally I would expect, was excellent. We finished with espresso and the coconut cake which was super flavorful. Through this whole experience I noticed a manager walking throughout the restaurant, talking with guests, delivering food and espresso to tables, and generally just going above and beyond the call of duty. Finally recognized him as Chris Carter and have to say he is fantastic and just yet another great asset to this restaurant. Kitchen growing pains are to be expected at a new restaurant but this also isn't the place I'd like to be in and out. Already have made another reservation and can't wait to check out more of the menu.

We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 7:45 reservation. They hostess said we could order drinks at the bar and she would come get us at 7:45 to seat us. 7:45 came and gone and we still hadn't been seated. After about 15 minutes I began to see others being seated besides us so I decided to reapproach the host counter and ask to be seated again to which they finally did. So we arrived 10 minutes early only to be seated 15 minutes after out reservation. Server was well intentioned but pushy. Physically took tge menus out of me and my girlfriend's hand to give us his recommendations, then let us decide. And after the meal didn't even let us see the whole dessert menu. We asked to see the whole menu, instead he verbally listed two items, neither of which we had interest in, and nothing else. After we paid our bill and left, we looked at the menu online and found a few other listed menu items the our server didn't bother to mention. Very unprofessional. The food was good but the service leaves something to be desired.

My mom and I have been huge fans of Scott Conant for years, so when we found out he was opening a restaurant in Arizona we were thrilled! I brought my mom here for her belated birthday and we were blown away! The décor is amazing, it's modern and relaxed all at the same time, beautiful country accents throughout. We ordered two glasses of Sangria, the Bread Plate, Ricotta and Mascarpone Gnoti, Fettuccini and Coconut Rum Cake. Everything was DELICIOUS! I can't say enough good things about our experience, it's nice to sit down to a great meal, wonderful staff and walk away counting down the days until you can come back. I can't wait to try their brunch!

Overall, a good experience. The food was very good. We got the foie gras with toast for an appetizer. Very good, but nowhere near enough toast to use with the foie gras, which was almost a puree more than a pate. Our waiter brought us out more than enough extra when we asked, which was nice. We stalled our ordering of our entrees on purpose, so it was timed correctly. The Cavatelli was excellent. The duck was perfectly cooked, and plenty in the dish. The mushrooms in the Fettuccine were so substantial and meaty. The noodles in both dishes were al dente. \n\nThe biggest hiccup I saw, which leads me to dock a star, was the bad handling of a birthday I witnessed at the table next to me. One of the diners went to use the restroom. While he was gone, the birthday cake arrived for what was the other's birthday. Instead of taking note that the other person was gone, and to circle back a few minutes later, the waiter actually left the cake with the lone person, lit the candle, and walked away. The poor person had to blow out the candle by herself so it wouldn't melt all over the dessert. Granted, the tables are close together, but I don't think she meant it for the other diners to celebrate her birthday instead of her date. \n\nI think once the timing and service bumps are worked out, this place will be great.

Wanted to give it 5 stars and expect the next trip it will be. It just opened and still have some timing issues to work out. Table of 5, ordered 3 pasta dishes, a meat and a pizza as entrees. The pastas were only warm and I expect were sitting waiting for the other entrees. The meat dish came hot (with the warm pastas) and then the pizza came later, about 4 or 5 minutes.

Great Atmosphere and OUTSTANDING Food! Not your usual Italian Restaurant. We shared the Polenta and the The Gnudi and they were really awesome. I truly enjoyed the Fish dinner and my husband enjoyed the short rib dinner. I wanted dessert but I was too full this time. They had some mix ups and timing issues with service but that is to be expected with most new restaurants. All the food exceeded my expectations and that is what matters.

Think Scott Conant has a neighborhood gem winner here! We started with the Foie Gras & Chicken Liver Pate with yummy crusty bread. We then shared two substantial items - the Black Campanelle Pasta (with clams and chilis) and the Chicken in Potacchio (with fennel and slow cooked tomatoes). Excellent choices. Can't wait to go back....PS Met Scott who was actually cooking and overseeing the kitchen.

Mora was an energetic place for dinner. We came here on a Thursday (with reservations) and were seated immediately. I ordered the il pirata cocktail and octopus to start and both were amazing. My date and I got pasta and short ribs for the main and both were good but not great. I'd seen the coconut cake online and was looking forward to it but it was truly just awful. The cake itself was dry and the coconut on the outside was either completely raw or totally burnt. \n\nAll that said, I would come back for cocktail and apps with friends.

I couldn't wait to come here. Last time we were at Scott Conant's restaurant was years ago in Manhattan, L'impera. This is more casual and so happy. Everything from the cocktails, bar setting, patio, dining room and open kitchen are beautiful and comfortable. For starters, we had different cocktails which are all well crafted. We then went to the dining area and had very knowledgeable adorable waitress. Started w the Octopus, polenta w mushrooms, and peas w guanicole and patched egg. Yum. Then entrees were Spahetti Pomodoro (my favorite), Cavatelli w Duck, Pizza w Sausage and one more pasta w spicy sausage and ricotta I think. We left nothing on our plates. Going back tonight w another couple. Chef Scott even came by and said hi. It is an amazing place.

Very well priced for the quality if the food! Our server Mike was very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations for what to order and we were very pleased. Had a small issue at the bar before dinner where our cocktails were delayed in getting to us and when i received mine, it was in a glass that was cracked. Another bartender rectified the situation and made my cocktail and she did a great job. It ended up being comped so that was good. I would definitely go back!

Disappointing experience. Service incredibly slow. Although our server was initially attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items, service is apparently assigned to others. 1st glasses of wine took 15 min to deliver, appetizer of Foi Gras (isn't it already made?) took 30 minutes! We were gifted the bread board because of the appetizer delay, a kind gesture and it was delicious! Our friends ordered the Octupus appetizer and enjoyed it very much. We all ordered pasta entrees, the duck ragú for two, the black pasta with clams and the fettuccine. We found both the clam and fettuccine to be very salty. Neither of us finished those entrees and we did not take left overs home. The duck ragú were ok, nothing special. Our additional glasses of wine were delivered promptly. We then had a 30 - 45 minute wait to flag down our waiter for the check. No one offered coffee or desert. There were plenty of servers and other staff swirling about, but no one ever came over to check on us. \n\nThe first table we were given in the bar was under a speaker and we had to shout at each other. We asked for a quieter table and were told nothing inside would be quieter because of the DJ! A DJ in a restaurant? Why? The quietest table was actually outside streetside on 7th street, one of the busiest streets in Px! Although it was quieter because we didn't have a speaker aimed at our table it was still noisy. Background dinner music is fine, but this was so loud we had to shout or lean into our dining companions and was very unpleasant. \n\nThe space is beautiful and it is clear no expense was spared to provide what I expected to be a positive dining experience. We are couples in our 60/70's, enjoy fine food and good music, but not at the same time. The menu is interesting and I hope to return but not with that volume of music. Is this a bar with food for the young and hip or a place for people interested in the fine food Scott Conant is known for?

Having arrived about 10 minutes early, we opted to wait for our table in the bar. It was very busy so it took a couple of minutes but it was not too long. The bar tender was chatty but trying to be helpful, offering to explain or describe anything on the menu that he gave us for a sneak peek. \n\nThe decor was comfortable. Unfortunately, the noise level was way too high. We had a good deal of trouble talking to each other. This was the bad part of the experience.\n\nWe started with bread service. The breads (country loaf and focaccia) was accompanied by four spreads, (in order of liking) a citrusy artichoke bomba, a roasted garlic spread, a mildly flavored mascarpone butter, and an eggplant caponata.\n\nWe order our main meal shortly after the bread service arrived. This turned out to have been a mistake on our part but showed a short coming of the service. The pasta arrived VERY quickly as we hardly had any time to enjoy the breads. \n\nI selected the gnudi, (WOW!) delightful cheesy pillows of ricotta and mascarpone with a dollop of concentrated tomato sauce. My partner selected the spaghetti pomodoro; another hit. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The amount applied to the pasta was perfect, every strand was lightly coated and it was not swimming; when the pasta was gone, so was the beautiful sauce.\n\nWe selected the coconut cake doe dessert. It turned out to be a very light cake whose strongest flavor is the toasted coconut. We also decided to have espresso drinks with our dessert. I was disappointed to have the macchiato described as anything other than espresso with a tiny dollop of milk foam (caramel ?!?!), so I went with the double espresso while my partner chose a latte. The espresso was very good and the coffees were accompanied by very good small thin chocolate chip biscotti.\n\nI will definitely return.

Late night reservation and the place was busy but comfortable. We sat in the bar area at a high top and it was cozy & perfect for people watching. The wine list was a favorite as I like trying new ones and the wines pair perfectly with the menu. I loved the antipasta octopus which was recommended by a friend & it was a perfect choice. The mora sundae was also delicious. The bread platter was not my favorite & I was bummed that the duck Ragu was sold out...popular item apparently. Let me say this before I start, the food at Mora is delicious and the restaurant is lovely. Would I return -yes! Open only 4 days when we went, Mora did not disappoint. We did, however, run into some glitches that one could expect from a new restaurant. Our server, a lovely young lady, had minor miscues all evening. Some had to do with timing and some, forgetfulness. She also had a pretty large error on the bill. If the restaurant was better established we would have thought about complaining to the owner or manager. The only food criticisms were that some of the breads on the bread cart were a bit past their prime (we did mention that to the manager when he stopped by our table) and the dessert was a bit small. As to the food, it did not disappoint. Each couple ordered three items, so we had five items to try (we both had the cavatelli). For us, the meatballs were the best I've ever tasted. Also very good were the cavatelli and the chicken. Our friend said the the short ribs were the best he's ever tasted. Clearly Scott Conant brought his 'A' game to Phoenix. The restaurant itself has a very sophisticated look and feel. It's large and on two levels with some strategic high tops for when it's jammed or happy hour. The noise level was a bit high for my tastes, but I'm at that age ... We bumped into Conant when we came in and he was a delightful host. He took a few moments to chat, we got some photos and were a bit star-struck. I trust that when we return our server will be on a par with the restaurant, which I'm confident will become a popular place for locals after the initial rush is over. Still give it 5 stars even with a few some minor flaws.

The octopus was well prepared (crispy) and we'll seasoned (tasty). The Orta was wonderful - generous portion.

This new restaurant has an excellent Manager, Chris, who I know from another restaurant. It will be consistently well managed. The food was great. Bryan was my waiter--exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable and fun.

Just happened to be in town the weekend of Mora's opening. We dined on Sunday evening and I was disappointed to find out that Scott Conant had left the restaurant. Would have loved to meet him. Food was delicious and in perfect portions. Service was excellent and the server very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Would love to return one day!

Really delicious! This new restaurant from celeb chef Scott Conant is a great addition to the mid-town dining scene. Everything we tried was outstanding, including tender grilled octopus, roasted beets with smoky bursts, cavatelli with duck ragu and shaved truffles, delicate gnudi, and a stunning coconut layer cake (save room!) My only complaint was the insistent techno beat music which is designed to get diners to drink more. Everyone does it but I don't care for it.

Delicious, inventive takes on traditional Italian dishes. Entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, unpretentious and accommodating. We loved our server Jessica. Beautiful interior and great design of inside/outside space. Upscale, casual vibe which we love. The only minor complaint is the menu is a bit limited, but I'm sure this helps keep quality consistent.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was fantastic. There a few hiccups with the service, but overall they were very attentive. We never had to ask to refill our drinks. I think once Mora has a few more months under its belt, it will be perfect!

Opening weekend just happen to fall on our 12th Wedding Anniversary and we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks were mixed perfectly, the food was exquisite, and the dessert was dreamy. The atmosphere was wonderful with upbeat music, low lighting, and a modern look. This is the place to be!

Once all the kinks are ironed out and the kitchen is more on track getting things out in a timely matter, this place will be the bomb! Great scene, excellent food and so many choices, it was hard to select, a great reason to return!

I truly enjoyed the opening night experience. Chef Scott Conant was present and very warm and welcoming to guests. His authentic warmth and down-to-earth demeanor creates a 'dinner with family' energy even for the solo diner. The staff kept pace with reservation seating, orders, etc. Service was great. Food was great. The menu has a nice array of items for multiple course dining and the wine list is a solid representation of good to fine wines. The bar has some original cocktails to offer. The atmosphere is lively and energetic and worth every minute. I would plan to dine here often and already have my second reservation on the books. I have already recommended Mora Italian to friends and family. Easy to get to and the valet parking on opening night was a bonus.

I had been stalking the Mora Italian website waiting to get reservations to the grand opening. In an avid foodie, excited to try food prepared by chef Scott Conant. I was impressed by the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. I was able to meet Scott Conan and see him working on the line. The food was remarkable and fresh. The bread cart offered different options and the foccacia was my favorite! We tried the spaghetti, grotto miso as well as the ricotta and mascarpone gndui. All of the food was delicious and well worth it. Our waiter Victor was so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Great drink options for wine, cocktails and beer. We already have reservations to go back!
