Good location for our purposes. Clean nice rooms. Hard to find. Front desk person could have been friendlier.
That's a hard one. Advertised swimming pool, laundry, restaurant etc all of which were the reasons we booked and all of which werent available (late May). Cardboard on windows - no drinks available other than minibar. Rooms tawdry. Staff friendly but unhelpful E.G. broke bottle in room by accident but refused to help but did provide mop. They had wireless but said they didnt then said no-one had the wep key. Told them when booking we had 3 kids but no details received. We had to make up kiddy beds. Didnt know bus times - gave wrong directions to laundrettes - wrong opening times for restuarants.
The only thing good in the hotel was the breakfast.
Close to Florence
The room was very clean and the staff very professional and friendly At our arrival we received a noisy room ( there were some refrigerators under our window) but when we asked for another one the change was done without problems
the staff and the location, very good atmosphere
Relax place to spend weekend feeling the Italian style of life
location- close to central Marino and a short bus ride to Venice they were renovating and the smell of the paint was terrible
Close to Venice if having car , very good restaurant at the resort . Staff service , and no elevator at this resort .
in the moment,nothing more
Incredibly renovated villa - kept all of the charm of the original building with wonderfully updated amenities. Nothing.
this is a great Villa with beautiful rooms and excellent staff
Staff was very helpful and spoke English. The hotel and grounds are very beatiful. I am a frequent traveler and I often there is at least one thing in a hotel that could be improve. I can't think of a thing I didn't like about this hotel.
beautiful hotel and grounds and lovely staff the location is a 40 minute bus ride from Venice, which was part of the experience but would not suit those who wish to be in the centre
The hotel was exquisit. The whole experience was wonderful. The location was perfect, staff were willing to please, decor, comfort, cleanliness and amenities exceptional.
Enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff...clean, clean, clean...wonderful. Location of hotel, easy to drive to ferry from hotel. Some of the buildings while driving to the hotel looked run-down and forgotten about...
The beautiful gardens and the very friendly and obliging staff.
Superbly designed and styled modern room and hotel. Very large room, Great bed, sheets and bathroom. In that sense it is a luxury hotel. We The restaurant is great, one of the best meals we had in Italy. Staff is very nice and friendly. Didn't go to Venice but there is a bus station in front of the hotel. Highly recommend, will be happy to stay again! The hotel is on a busy road but the windows perfectly insulate any noise so it's not a problem at all. It's a very nice rural area, a nice canal in front of the hotel, picnic area, etc.
Friendliness of the staff. Nice area Very far from venise: 30min by car.
great hotel for the money- clean, quite, comfortable, and free parking.
Reasonable price and convenient location. The in-room refrigerator was not working.
The hotel is located in on old palacio and has been well restored. The room we had was rather small, bigger is available but more expensive.
beauty of the family home, attention to detail, great service, very firendly staff, beautiful Italian receptionist no wifi available, very inconvenient for business travellers
Some of the reviews I found in the internet were not very flattering, so I was hesitating a bit with my booking. Villa Ducale turned out to be an elegant hotel with a fantastic breakfast buffet and very nice staff. It is very good value for the money, and I will definitely return when in the Veneto region. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel.
the architecture and history
Large room, luxurious decor, wonderful breakfast and excellant dinner. Just step across the street and take a bus to Venice, departs every 30 minutes. The Brenta is a lovely area to just drive and stop in the quaint villages; Dolo and Mira.
I really liked the friendlyness of the hotel's reception woman. she was very energetic and helpful. there is no air-condition, and the breakfast is poor, unfortunately
A welcoming atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful setting in a centuries-old but perfectly adapted building, very clean, relatively quiet and within easy reach of Padova, Venice and the scenic road along the Brenta Canal. The price is a bargain. The place is highly recommendable - we will surely return. perhaps one minor comment: the breakfast is good Italian standard (several types of coffee and juice, corn flakes, bread, jam, freshly baked baguettes), but guests from north of the Alps may miss cheese, ham etc.
nicely renovated building, nice room, helpful staff, the breakfast was basic but fresh and tasty there is no air condition and the rooms are very hot in summer; we had a problem with mosquitos, but the staff provided us with some spray during our first night and bought us an electric plug-in mosquito killer the next day
The hotel is a former monastery, and preserves the old times atmosphere, very nice! The rooms are very clean but basic. Staff very helpful. I also liked the vending machines with bottled water, soft drinks and alike at cost prices. There is no TV in the rooms, but to us this was not a problem. Breakfast is simple. All in all, very good value for the money.
We love the history of Mira and this hotel put us on the banks of the Brenta River and guided us to the local bus that took us to Venice in 35 minutes. Ate where the locals had pizza - excellent. Excellent parking too.
Visit Venice Service of the reception, not friendly
The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was fully equipped and nice. The location is great, since it's 25 min from Venezia and with regular bus service.
the hotel has nothing special, only good think is that that very clean. its far away from the town
good accmmodation with a relaxed atmosphere B&B only no restaurant at the hotel.
Friendly staff, location Difficult to find
Young friendly staff, all the necessities without unwanted frills, comfortable bed, quiet room, beautiful old building with lovely views in a genuinely Italian, non-touristy environment. Good inexpensive family restaurants nearby. Felt completely at home. 30-minute bus ride to Venice and Padua, so plenty to see!
Location is good for the following reasons: the place is nice and calm but near to important places to visit (Venezia ...)
The town of Mira is delightful and an easy ride to venice if you have a car. It is a delightful small and cozy place. also clean
The hotel was nice, the room big and clean and the receptionist very helpful!
Excellent place if you like a calm and relaxing environment. My children enjoyed the swimming pool and the other facilities every day. Good family hotel! Make sure you ask for the local train station of Mira-Mirano. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from there. The trains from Mira-Mirano go directly to Venice (about 20 minutes ride). The bus from Mirano is too far from the hotel, so use the trains...
Excellent Restaurant, Very pleasing surroundings
very pleasant enviroment, quiet place, good comfort of everything No
The absolute cleanliness of the place! Also, the staff was ready with directions and suggestions to get to Venice as easily, quickly and inexpensively as possible. Parking area, but they say they are working on that. Also, there was not a lot of choices in places to eat within walking distance.
The rooms are very nicely decorated. You can tell there's been very much interest in designing each room. Easy to get there if you exit the high-way towards Dolo, and you don't try to exit through Mirano, via Miranese. The rooms in which I sat for three nights, for new year's eve, was not heated before we got to the hotel so in the first 2 nights we had to sleep with socks and pullovers on. We did ask for some sort of heater or more blankets the next day, but it probably slipped their minds. If you go there during summer, you may not have this problem.
Room was clean, charming and rustic with genuine old timber beams. Also quiet location, away from road. Location was excellent for exploring Venice, using the ferry only 8km away. Exceeded our expectations.
Good position for visiting Venice (good connections by bus and train to Venice centre). Very nice rooms, mixing traditional Italian villa with modern furnishing. Reception closing at 21.00
The room was very beautiful and the staff helpful
We stayed here as a base for a trip to Venice. It's a cosy hotel, next to the main road, but not noisy. Bus stop 200m away to get to Venice (30 minutes trip). Very clean room, with classic style. Continental breakfast was good. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not a fault of the hotel, but the local train station is no longer on the main line, so offers fewer services to Venice.
Very interesting "old fashioned" Hotel. Nice room, bathroom as well. Good prices in minibar. Breakfast was 1 hour later as we expect.
We stayed only one night, everything was ok.
Beautiful room, high standard of comfort, wifi friendly. easy buses to Venice and Padova. Luxury after visiting Venice. Very helpful staff. it is a shame that this hotel was next to the main road, but it is perfect to get in and out of Venice and also out of the really rough area that is mainland Venice.
The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The rooms were clean and loveley. It was calm and quiet. The location is quite a distance from Venice. You will have to take this into consideration, especially consodering expenses for travelling when staying in the hotel.
free parking, close to common transportation, breakfast
A modern, elegant and sophisticated Hotel at a very reasonable price. The staff were excellent and helpful and the Breakfast was superb. The rooms were clean, modern and nicely proportioned. The location between Padua and Venice is ideal and I recommend a visit to the nearby village of Dolo which is Italy in minature by the river. One of the nicest Hotels I've ever stayed in. No it was perfect for me.
good breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable rooms the hotel is a little far away from venice. The public bus takes about 50 minutes to the city.
We were there just to spend the night so we chose the hotel because of the good price for a 4star hotel. So it was a good choise for us because it is close to the Highway. However it is not so easy to visit Padova or Venice, especialy if you are in a hurry. The shower and the waste basket in the toilet were broken. We had to choose our breakfast the previous evening and they brought it in the room but there was not much choise and it was not enough. In general it was more like a 3star than a 4star hotel, but the price was of a 3star anyway and the parking was free.
The helpful staff, e.g. for finding transportation, the closeness to the village, the park. Frequent buses to Venice. Early morning traffic on neighboring street. Few possibilities for public transport to other locations than Venice.
Bus stop right outside of the hotel. Clean atmosphere and lots of room. Stayed during Carnival and was only a 45 min bus ride to Venice.
no room service,poor english l.
Fine hotel with good swiming pool. It is great for relax. It is in good location to see attractive cities, like Venice or Padua, and also good to break a long travel from north to south (or back...), and there is a very good restaurant nearby the hotel.
A very friendly and welcoming hotel.... Highly recommended! Mirano is a very pleasant little town with a Sunday street market and a produce market on Monday. Good location for access to Venice. Bus stop outside hotel direct to Venice - Regular direct trains from Mira-Mirano station (Marano) to Venice, St Lucia (4.5 km to station from hotel) - Water bus (every hour, on the hour) from Fusina (17 km from hotel)
Very basic rooms. Nice garden with a swimming pool. Airco does not work properly.
truly opulent. I am 67 and have travelled the world frequetly. This was the second best hotel I have ever stayed in (the best was 5* in Paris) nothing
Very good hotel, nice and quite atmosphere as well as a good location with accessible transportation to Venice.
Hotel located in a quite place. Very good connection with Venice - bus stop just in front of the hotel, 30-40 minutes with bus and you are in the centre of Venice. Bus tickets can be purchased at the hotel's desk. Lot of insects (ladybugs) in the room
roomy, comfortable rooms with a/c.
They have free parking even if it's not stated in the hotel's description Big bed Shower sewage did not work properly, so a lot of water went on the bathroom floor.
It was a bit difficult to find but it was due more to the GPS not doing its job. The shower door was leaking, making the floors wet after someone take a shower. Very quiet location. Would not be convenient if you do not have your own transportation. Sound proofing was terrible and you can hear noises of people checking in and out, walking etc. Breakfast selection was very limited. Tour groups use this hotel, checking in late at night and leaving early in the morning.
price of room, hotel is very near to Venice there was slightly dirty bathroom
the price was good for a double room and the location is excelent for the car travelers: free parking and also close to Venice and Padova
Quite near to the train station to take the train to Venice. The check out time is 10:00am, quite early.
Every thing very good very nice people peter very helpfull Do not wish to complain but being diabetic I feel it would be a good idea to offer some suger free items at breakfast everthing else first class .
To find a hotel with the most current TomTom maps - is a challenge. Very poor breakfast containing: coffee, one croissant, simple buffet with bread, butter, jam, milk and muesli (after 1st day You can learn that it is possible to ask for better goods eg. yogurt and additional croissant :)
I stayed only one night but everything was OK,easy to rich, rooms, breakfast, location. No
Good clean room. Close to Venice, for car travelers. Free parking. Overall i would recommend it for overnight during your visit to Venice for example. Buffet Breakfast was really poor: some sweet stuff only. this spoiled impression a little.
The breakfast for 4 Euro was very poor. Receptionist gave me a wrong address of train station, so we lost a lot of time finding it. There is no internet access in the hotel.
I liked nice and cosy atmosphere and staff. Actually not.
We enjoyed this hotel fully. The family that operates it is charming and efficient. There is a bus stop to Venice that will take you to Piazzale Roma in 25 minutes. We left our car in the Hotel parking, without charge. I would return and fully recommend Albergo Alla Campana.
The personal was very friendly. The room was clean and relatively spacious. The breakfast was sufficient. Very good location for trip to Venice.
Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel very clean and rooms very spacious.
The crew was very friendly, breakfast is very good! Our room was liitle bit noisily because of the trafic.
Lovely town and lovely people. Venice was ridiculously easy to get to by bus, and everyone was so helpful.
Personal attention from the family
The location of the hotel was good, and the personal (I think it was the owner) very helpful. The rooms have air condition. If your room facing the street you may forget to sleep. The street is very noisy also at 3,00 in the morning. Breakefeast could be better.
The hotel is very clean, the staff are very polite
A lovely hotel in a lovely town. The staff was helpful. We liked it so much that we already stayed there four times.
Beautiful traditional italian style building with garden. Close to venice, which is accessible by driving to fusina and getting the boat. Family room had one bed in a sort of ante room, but connected, which got quite hot as the air conditioning didn't reach it.
Value for money. Staff helpful. Internet connection not very efficient. Finding the hotel was stressful after a long day travelling. Clear Hotel signage prior to actual bus stop would have been very helpful.
Everything is perfect
Very poor breakfast, a lot of noise from the traffic, poor English of the staff
Lovely ambiance, excellent service and helpful staff, very nice quite area next to a river. Met all expectations.
Very good Hotel at the Brenta Canal
The hotel is very nice in many ways, however it was the location that made it difficult for us without a car. You really need a car, if you stay there. We were led to believe it would be convenient to use the bus, however the hotel is on a very busy narrow two lane highway and difficult and somewhat dangerous to even get to the bus stop. Also only one pizza restaurant near by, but again you must walk on the very busy highway.
Friendly staff, eager to help, e.g. help in trying to book us in to view fresos in Padua. An elegant atmosphere with beatifully mainained exterior and garden/patio. Very easy bus link to Venice. We felt the breakfast was a little disappointing. There was ony one choice of bread and two of cereal. The coffee machine did not make the tastiest coffee!
Noise from the traffic, poor breakfast
The room smelled old
