10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, very modern and with a balcony with a good view of the garden, they do have animals but are very friendly, less than five minute walk to the center of town.owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Could do with tea or coffee in room but owners allowed me to use the kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hostess and her family were lovely, as was their very friendly dog! A really nice and homely place to stay, just 100m from centre of village, very safe and cosy and friendly
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was baguettes, croissants, fruit, coffee and tea. Nicely done. Our host was very personable. She took the time to tell us about her daughter who has immigrated to the U.S. and joined the military medical service. It's a nice family run operation which offers good value in Ste. Mere Eglise. Pretty much what one would expect from a B & B in England. It's not a B & B in the American sense with antiques for furnishings but clean and good value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, spotless and modern B&B run by a lovely couple. Breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: Hard floors meant a lot of footfall could be heard in the mornings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super Host, very friendly and generous! Beutiful garden and terasse. Waking distance to the center. Very recommendable place!
Cons: Everything was fabelous. No complains at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, just a few minutes from twin center and the Airborne Museum. Christine and her husband were amazing, they really take care of theirs guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating. The house was beautiful with a large garden out back. Fresh goods from the bakery each morning. And a gym in the garage for those that do that on vacation. Hosts were happy to help arrange taxis and provide tourism spot recommendations. Wonderful experience.
Cons: Not a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What’s not to like?! The house itself is absolutely wonderful, with a well kept garden. The interior was very modern and clean and the family were fantastic company during our stay! The breakfast we were given each day was plentiful, and there was always more if you needed it. You did not feel like you were out of place in the home, you felt like another family member :)
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like, it was all amazing!

Pros: Enjoyed the stay, and the property is very different from anywhere else where i have stayed. I liked it very much.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: History everywhere you look, every corner tells a story and the hosts, Valentina and Nicola are only too happy to share their there stories with you. We gave them very short notice on deciding to stay for the five course dinner not realising we were the only ones going to the resturant and they were only to happy to accommodate us. They also prepared pasta expecially for our kids. We were not able to make it for breakfast as we needed to leave early and they left us some fresh crossiants and coffee. This place is truely special and it was a priviledge to stay.
Cons: Get some picnic blankets, we were surprised you did not have any. Your property is surrounded by so much beauty, it would be great to enjoy some fresh bread, foie gras and a bottle of rose with the chateau as a backdrop.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: excellent healthy breakfast, spacious suite, private and quiet, attentive owners, historic chateau with books, magazines and wine bar in the saloon
Cons: the grounds are not yet ready for wking or bike riding - the grass ia tall We had to jog on a main road

8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful place to stay, the house and grounds are simply stunning. It is very clean, cosy, pin drop quiet and private... perfect. It was a chilly evening so a glowing log burner to welcome us was much appreciated. We had a very early start and the lady was kind enough to still prepare a small fresh and tasty breakfast for us. Thank you for your hospitality and little Jaz is a treasure.
Cons: We did feel that a few little bits were missing really.. Some bottled water and more than 2 coffee pods would have been nice and some creamer of some description for the coffee. Although we probably could have asked for these things it’s not simple to do so without leaving the little house and knocking on the door around the other side of the big house! it was later in the evening so we went without.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christina has landscaped this beautiful property with vibrant color: roses, hydrangeas, hollyhocks, and wildflowers. She and her husband go the extra mile to make sure you have what you need. Pascal chauffeured me to a wedding brunch a few miles away so I wouldn’t have to worry how I would get there. Truly delightful people.
Cons: It was ALL lovely: le petit dejeuner on the back porch surrounded by rustling trees and a beautiful garden, with homemade jams, croissant, coffee or tea, and homemade yogurt. Delicious!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is magnificent set in the middle of the Normandy countryside. The room is at the top of a longish flight of stairs which may be of interest to some but was not an issue at all for us. The room was beautiful, tastefully decorated with a massive living area separate from the bedroom. The bathroom is new, spacious and spotless. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Although in a converted attic and November the room was always warm. The breakfast is severed downstairs in a private dining room and our host made individual warm traditional pastries for each of us. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation close to Saint Marie Eglise/Landing beaches or en route to Cherbourg.
Cons: Perfect. Although you need to pay with cash, not card, which is important to remember as there are no ATMs nearby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This B&B was like a manor house in a spacious, beautiful, country setting. Plenty of parking. WiFi was excellent. Hostess was very accommodating, answer questions about the area, and the history of the house. Hostess recommended and made reservations at a restaurant in St. Mere Eglise. The rooms were immaculate and well appointed. Breakfast was typical French and delicious. Wish we could have extended our stay here.
Cons: Be aware that of the 2 rooms booked, one had a steep spiral staircase. Out of the way location required driving on some narrow country roads but the destination made that insignificant.

Pros: Quiet, clean, classic Normand farm, fantastic relaxation atmosphere. Excellent value for money. Definitely a great place to stay when visiting Normandy with family or friends!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were a group of 6 cyclists. Melanie was a super host. She made us feel like family from the moment we arrived, showing us around the farm, visiting the new litter of puppies and petting the heavily pregnant mare (has she given birth yet??!). Our rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished and well equipped with tea making facilities - on a tray (always appreciated). Breakfasts were generous, beautifully prepared and served in the large, comfortable dining room, where we lingered over freshly cooked pancakes, freshly baked cake, mixed baskets of bread, homemade preserves and lashings of tea and coffee. We had free run of the property, with secure bike parking in a barn and the opportunity to see sheep being sheared. All in all, it was a delight and a privilege to spend time at Domaine du Haul. Merci Melanie.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted very well, room was really nice and cozy, large shower room with good lighting. You need to expect real old French interior, house is of stone and immaculate with a winding stone staircase. No wi-fi in room and no TV in bedroom. You have the use of a lounge with French TV and games for kids etc. Owner was obliging with the use of the microwave on the evening. Breakfast was simple of just assorted bread, jam & butter only! We would book again as a couple, kids could be bored, but great for a quick stay. So pleased the owner had heating on continually. Very Nice!
Cons: Perhaps a better selection of breakfast would be better, suggest some yogurt and fruit, I'm guessing that this would be the case in the busier periods. No croissants, could disappoint some people. No TV in bedroom, this would be a bonus in the evening. Also this area can receive English TV? would benefit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb in the middle of the the penisular, so quiet amazing 15th Century grand old farmhouse ,spiral stone staircase to room . Family type room with lovely onsuite shower and bathroom. The lady was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. If stay again in a heartbeat.. Amazing ...
Cons: Really difficult to say ,maybe some cheese & ham on breakfast ..that's being very picky as this was amazing in all ways.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old property
Cons: Nothing

Pros: This home was in a lovely quiet rural setting which was exactly what we were after. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the wonderful host and learning about how she restored the Chateau with the help of her two daughters and developed the gardens. A very comfortable stay.
Cons: Wi Fi was good but limited to the dining area.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: By chance we found ourselves in a location that was at the heart of the battlefield around Ste Mere Eglise. Thanks to our hosts we discovered the story of "the bloodiest small unit struggle in the experience of American arms" for the bridge at La Fiere. Their house played a central role in the battle and is full of tributes to US servicemen who took part in those momentous events and returned to the house many years later. A fascinating story for D Day enthusiasts!
Cons: The rooms were comfortable but the furnishings were a bit dated and could do with being refreshed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chantal and Yves were the perfect hosts. They made us feel so welcome and Yves gave us a marvelous history of their charming home. A+++
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a historical location...owners spent time telling us about events that took place there and showed us around their home !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming location in centre of D-Day history. Chantal & Yves know everything about the history and Yves is very friendly and willing to tell you about. His English full in 40 mixed words full of humor surprised us. Recommend this Chambres D’Hotês to all interested to experience history near.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hosts were charming but the accommodation smelt strongly of a Tom cat. Facilities were adequate - bed was not comfortable.
Cons: The smell of cat pee! I have a cat and my home doesn’t smell!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is a old French manor home. We stayed in a separate building that used to be a bakery. Our room had three beds one downstairs with a bath and two twin beds upstairs in the loft. Breakfast (incuded) was in the owners home/main house. Great food including local cheese and French butter and homemade jelly. The butter was wonderful. We came to visit the World War II Normandy Battlefield sites and museums in the area. The manor is located in the center of the WWII paratrooper drop Zone. The owner was very knowledgeable about the local history and gave us a tour of the battlefield. He has a collection of battlefield artifacts he found on his farm over the years. It was fascinating to learn about such a significant event in history from a local.
Cons: The fact that we only stayed two nights we should have stayed longer.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly couple , lovely welcome. Nice breakfast and interesting to chat in French to Monsieur who is very knowledgeable about the history of the area.
Cons: Double bedroom/ bed against wall - a bit small for tall person
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The manor is a beautiful place with centuries worth of stories to tell. Quiet location near St. Mere Eglise. The hosts were very accommodating.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent for those wanting to immerse themselves in WW2 history. The ferme itself was part of a major battle and the owner is very knowledgeable and happy to talk about the area’s rich history.
Cons: Nothing at all.

Pros: Beautiful place, all the extra touches were well thought out, free tea and coffee, honesty bar for wine and beer and snacks. Bed was very comfy, lovely crisp clean sheets
Cons: The WiFi, this was not available us as it was so slow, we really needed it to book and research the rest of our holiday. The local town was so quite at night that we found ourselves lost as to what to do in the evenings. This was made worse by the internet connection.
10.0 Excellent

Chateau Des Poteries - Fresville - Building
11
8.4 Excellent (121 reviews)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old chateau with an interesting history. Great breakfast. Hosts were very welcoming and full of info about the area.
Cons: To stay here, you definitely need a car to get around. Property is showing its age and some of the door locks were very difficult to use.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was simple but good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay, an experience money usually cannot buy. An unforgettable experience in a place crammed with history and character, owned and run by Dennis, the warmest, most friendly and welcoming host you could wish for. We cannot wait for the opportunity to go back, thank you for an all too short but unforgettable stay
Cons: Nothing, absolutely spot on
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This family-owned B&B near the hamlet of Fresville is a great place: A small old chateau, completely hidden behind hedgerows, just off the main highway from Caen to Cherbourg, and a five minute drive from Sainte Mere Eglise. The owner is a gem, a chevalier of old norman heritage. A sheep is cutting the lawn, a sweet dog is looking for treats, the teenage boys are running around, and an original medieval full body armor extends its cold hand in the entry lobby. The rooms are large, and the weight (and some of the dust) of centuries lies on the house. Our bathroom was new, a bit sparsely furnished, but immense in comparison to what you see in modern houses. This is rural France at its best. We were immediately treated to Apéro and explanations of the touristic sites around. Which comprise some of the most fought over battlesites of the Normandy landings in 1944. After a few days you start to realize that these battle commemorations have turned into the largest local industry, with hundreds of private war museums along the landing beaches. To be honest, the whole war business gets on your nerves after a while, at least ours, but it had been many years I wanted to get a look at the area, so I should not complain. The owner will explain everything, and you will get a point of view of the local population, and of things which may change the priorities and points of views. Normandy as a landscape is a bit surprising: You see nothing. Everything is constantly hidden behind huge hedgerows of 5m in height. We were sleeping less than 1km from an enormous gigantic WW1 airship bunker hangar, the Aerobase at Ecausseville - but we never saw it, and completely missed it. The villages which were not bombed to the ground (many) are rather quaint yet charming stone affairs. The many beaches offer a choice of perfect sand, especially the landing beaches, while some up in the north have flat rocks jutting into the sea e.g.
Cons: Wifi and some bathroom fixtures could be improved. Absolutely minor points.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent accommodation; the bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms. The chateau is even more lovely than the photo. The charming French owner and his Russian wife are attentive and helpful hosts.
Cons: It is not possible to find from the info provided, as there are no street names or D24 sign in the village. Worse still there is an erroneous tourism map, hand-drawn, in the village which misleads. We had to knock on doors to get directions. Chateau signs are needed, village centre and at the turn-off into Route des Marais.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is in a fabulous setting. Our bedroom was spacious with a good en suite. The setting is ideal for guests looking for a quiet tranquil environment. The large pool in front of the chateau is full of lily pads. Tanya was very chatty and her husband gave us information about where to visit.
Cons: There was no kettle in the bedroom although tea and coffee making facilities were advertised. When I asked about a kettle I was told that I could use the kitchen. It would have been difficult to carry coffee cups upstairs to our room. The grounds need a lot of work to complement the chateau. The view from our bedroom over the back garden was disappointing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host did a great job to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We would come back again if our travel takes us to Normandy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old chateau with lovely features in a quiet yet convenient location. Excellent breakfast and the owner, Denis, was very helpful. He made sure our stay was very comfortable and helped us enjoy the area by suggesting places to visit.
Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner Denis was welcoming, friendly and helpful. An early breakfast was arranged for us because we had to depart at 6AM. The coffee was very good, there were hard boiled eggs, juice, yogurt, croissants, fruit, bread and jellies. The chateau is reminiscent of a bygone era. The rooms and bathrooms are very large. We had a pleasant stay.
Cons: This B&B would not appeal to someone seeking a five star experience. However, the history and French country setting make up for some of the updating that would improve the property.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Large room and bathroom. Ideal location to explore d day area. Lovely host family.
Cons: Nothing.

Plants on landing need to look better! Or get rid of them. Need care. I tore off four huge dead leaves. Straggily and a ski pole ? In one for support. Either beautiful or out!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close early
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed lovely and comfortable, lovely breakfast. The owners were terrific
Cons: Bedroom on the small size, and the shower had a strange door hinged half way across little difficult to get in if you are not normal size
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great continental breakfast and host
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic as it is only one block from the church and the 101st Airborne Museum. The owners took care of everything including making up the rooms and they were very friendly and helpful
Cons: The room was really cramped, even by European standards. We had trouble finding places to set our suitcases. For Americans, consider what it would be like if you took a fairly large American bedroom, and then carved two rooms out of it - one for the toilet and shower and the other for the sink. What you're left with is pretty small. But, the location made up for it. I absolutely LOVE Sainte Mere Eglise!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Superb location, great facilities and the owners were very welcoming and really helpful. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Also had the option of breakfast which was very good and great value for money. Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back.
Cons: Nothing at all we didn’t like.

Pros: In the centre of the Cotentin Peninsular Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte was parfeclty located for our variours excursions to the north, south, east and west. The hotel has an old-world charm and the parking is excellent at the back of the building. The beds are really comfortable and we had a couple of excellent suppers.
Cons: Can't think of anything. It fitted our needs perfectly.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very easy drive from Cherbourg and convenient for overnight stay. We liked having the restaurant on site as we had come on the late ferry and it meant we didn't have to go looking for a meal. The menu was good. We even had time to go into the village and have a beer in the bar. Overall i would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for somewhere to stay near Cherbourg
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: We checked in at 17.45 but the hot water did not kick in until about 1845
7.5 Good
Pros: Covenient Location. Able to accommodate our bicycles in the garage. Good quality restaurant.
Cons: We were charged €7 (€80 instead of €73) more than you had quoted/guaranteed. If this seems trivial from our perspective, then equally it is petty from theirs, particularly given we spent €200 or thereabouts in the restaurant for a meal for 4. Probably it was a surcharge to punish us for using your agency. After we'd secured the hotel booking via you we telephoned to book the restaurant; they were distinctly grumpy and said we should have booked both hotel and restaurant by phone instead of using the agency for the accommodation..
