Cons: Dining room was manic! Food mediocre in comparison to other paradores. Mainly stodgy. Very disappointing. Everything else was excellent. A great parador but let down by the dining experience.
Pros: We had an excellent stay here. It feels like a palace and we found the hotel very affordable.
Pros: The location was absolutely splendid! Wonderful view from the room, excellent winter sunsets almost every night. Hiking trails that seem to go on forever. If you enjoy long distance walking / ...
Cons: Most of my stay was during the week, it was practically empty, quiet. During the weekend it became busier and with more people, more noise.
Pros: The location is good, with parking immediately outside the Parador. Breakfast was good, with a wide choice & our eggs were specially cooked, but Parador breakfasts are overpriced
Cons: Instead of the peace & quiet we expected when we had a sandwich in the bar in the evening, piped music was playing & the TV was on very loud, with no-one watching. The flyscreen in our room ...

Take in the views from the rooftop terrace when you stay at Parador De Gredos Avila. After visiting the 24-hour fitness center for a workout, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at one of the 2 bars/lounges. An outdoor tennis court and 2 coffee shops/cafés are other highlights, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and minibars.

Pros: The hotel offers a beautiful view, and has very friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we had all that we needed, including specially cooked vegetarian meals. The owner Luis is a keen ...
Cons: We were completely happy with everything about the hotel and its staff.
Pros: Clean, comfortable room. Nice hot shower. Upper deck/ balcony accessible from our room. For birders, two 'hides' providing close looks at the local birds and wildlife. Restaurant for ...
Pros: I like the fact, as the hostal is being advertised as The Birds Hostal, that the placement of this hostal allows full observation of a large number of bird's local species. For that purpose there ...
Cons: Nothing. I found it charming, offering a number of outdoors amenities such as walking, birdwatching and bird photography.
Pros: Bird watching hide. Tapas menu. Restaurant meal. Friendly helpful owner. Views of snowy mountains from bedroom window.
Cons: Tea making facilities in room. Earlier evening meal.
Pros: Particularly attractive for anyone interested in nature as the proprietor is a keen birdwatchers and photographer and has a hide attached to the hotel. A nice family- run hotel.
Cons: By no means cheap for the quality.
Pros: A very fine place to stay while birdwatching in Sierra de Gredos. We had nice mountainview from our own little glass covered terasse, with direct access to the common one. Being an experienced ...

Cons: Squeaky floors

Situated in Navarredonda de Gredos, this hostal is within 1 mi (2 km) of Church of Navarredona de Gredos and Church of Brajas. Church of Hoyos del Espino is 4 mi (6.4 km) away.

Cons: Slightly surprised to find they'd charged my credit card in advance although since i booked the room with only 24 hours notice at a non-refundable rate that was perfectly reasonable. I had planned...
Pros: The place is nice and well located. The rooms are spacious and quite nice. We liked the SPA as well.
Cons: The food for lunch and dinner was simply horrible. Also acoustics. From the room you could hear the noise of doors opening and closing.

Pros: The hotel location, restaurant, service, rooms
Cons: Matress was not the best
Pros: Great place to get away from it all.5
Cons: A bit of a walk to get down there if you're coming from the bus station. No taxi service from there. But the hotel did arrange for a local taxi driver to take us to and from period the hotel was a...
Pros: The hotel stands in its own grounds and is well away from the nearest town which has absolutely nothing to commend it. The reformation of this historic building is very interesting and makes for an enjoyable experience, and is a nice change from the typical new hotels that seem to be everywhere.
Cons: The breakfast was acceptable, but certainly not up to the standard that one would expect at a four star hotel.
Pros: The location was excellent, in the countryside near the North slopes of Sierra de Gredos. The room (double level) was luxurius..
Cons: The double level room is not appropriate for a family with a very young child (3 years), especially when it was no possible to place the 3 beds on the same floor. Use of swimming pool was extra charged !!. Breakfast was also charged 15 euros/person extra. Staff do not speak English at all so communication was difficult even for simple requests.
Pros: The location is very peaceful; the rooms very comfortable.
Cons: Our lack of Spanish and their lack of English made ordering dinner, and an early breakfast, a bit of an exercise!
Pros: We selected the hotel Izan Puerta de Gredos for its location close to "Sierra de Gredos". The atmosphere and the location of the hotel were excellent, relaxing surroundings and the access to the mountains, nature and picturesque villages was easy. The room was comfortable and the breakfast had a good selection of products.
Cons: The spa.
Pros: I stayed one night booking.com and a further 6 nights in conference.I think the hotel is poor. I cannot imagine anyone staying there in the winter. It is a gracious building and in a pleasant area. Possibly good for walkers.
Cons: The majority of the rooms are not 4 star quality - no views (obstructed by fire escapes) - at least one with only a skylight. Mine was ground floor with a path outside and no curtains. Cleanliness is dubious -ants among the breakfast bread, and on the floor of the dining room. Dead flies in my bedroom not removed for three days. No outdoor pool or any kind of exterior seating seating. To say that it has gardens simply isn't true. There are areas of roughly cut field. Indoor pool/spa/gym poor and expensive. Should be free. Local village is typical, but it is too far to walk comfortably and offers little entertainment. Not much in the way of local information and no newspapers of any kind.
Enjoy your visit to Barco De Avila with a stay at Hotel Izán Puerta de Gredos. Guests indulge in spa services, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. There's an indoor pool and a bar/lounge, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer 24-hour room service and LCD TVs.

Cons: There was nothing I did not like
Pros: Every room has a different name and design.. The hotel is small but very comfortable, clean and has a rustic air..
Pros: Very nice place! Great breakfast and dining!
Pros: Desserts were awsome. It also has a fireplace, and a small astronomic observatory.
Pros: Clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, cosy garden, wonderful area for hiking. Although standard breakfast is a 'gourmet' thing, the staff was happy to arrange a lean (and quick) ...
Cons: Staff would benefit from getting more comfortable in English; some staff speak no English, others do, but none of the people is fluent or capable of a relaxed conversation. It's not a problem, but...
Pros: The views, the garden and the spa next door
Rusticae El Milano Real is a great choice for a stay in Hoyos del Espino. Guests can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and visit the spa to be pampered with massages, body wraps, or body scrubs. A bar/lounge and a garden are other highlights, and rooms offer DVD players and minibars.
Pros: Very friendly staff although not everybody speaks English. Rooms were clean and staff attentive. Also the breakfast is included and quite OK. Location is excellent if you want to explore the nearby ...
Cons: Rooms are very basic. It turned out the air outlets for the whirlpool were dirty making it impossible to have a relaxing whirlpool after a hard day in the mountains.
Pros: Location, views, and access to nature are marvelous. It's a short walk or very quick drive to the main part of Hoyos de Espino for any services you need beyond those available at the café. The ...
Cons: The rooms lean toward the rustic, simpler side. Little details, like nowhere to hang toilet paper rolls in a bathroom, make it feel more like a hostel than a home. The bright overhead fluorescent ...
Pros: Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble, superb breakfast, evening menu had good variation.
Cons: Low roof beams, ouch! Unpleasant plastic under sheet on the bed.
Pros: Nice accommodation, good location for exploring this region.
Cons: Hand-held shower. Low ceiling in room. Some Spanish essential.
Pros: Great location and very quiet, rooms were lovely however our sat nav could not find the hotel at first.
