Beautiful location, lovely house, amazing views, great pool, staff/owner very pleasant and helpful when hire car broke down , and at breakfast. Coffee fantastic Would like tea/coffee making facilities, bed side lights.
Beautiful scenery, comfortable room, very friendly, very good breakfast, lovely swimming pool in nice grounds
Very attractive, refurbished villa in a quiet and very beautiful location. Nothing.
Drove to Pellegrino in the mountains and went for a short mountain walk. Ate in a local restaurant in the nearest village, and it was very nice.
The house is great, the room was great also! The breakfast was very good. You must have a car if your staying here. There are a lot of places with plenty to see within driving distance, but not so much if you are by foot.
Great location; views; beautiful building and grounds; pool.
My husband and I stayed here and found it to be a very pleasant place and well maintained. We were here in October, so we did not use the swimming pool, but that would have been nice in the summer. It had a beautiful view of the marble mountains. Breakfast was the best we have had so far. We had no complaints about our stay, everything was as expected.
The views were good and the room was comfortable. It was not really suitable for a weeks stay. It was not really suitable as a touring base. The pool looked good but was unheated and too cold for a swim in September.
friendly service, great location, beautiful house with swimming pool
The owner was very friendly, the views wonderful and it was lovely and quiet. It may have been a problem if we could not scrape some Italian, though
sunbathed, dined, enjoyed the spectacular views. kids club spoiled the ambience of dinner on the terrace. The pplants along the connecting walkway were very dusty: it looked dirty and neglected.
Location is excellent Spa is very nice
it was a little to old
The location was fantastic The rooms need to be updated and the bar and restaurant are poor.
We had a good week in July / August 2010, the hotel is about an hour from Pisa. The hotel is up a steep drive about a mile long but has splendid views.
The views are stunning. The receptionists (except one) were excellent and very courteous. One could hardly communicate with us.In the main, staff were very friendly. Lacks human warmth ! The 'atmosphere' was 'cold' and somewhat empty. The distance from local amenities was too far away. One needed a hire car or taxi. The taxi was no less than 20 euros one way. Taxis in general you should avoid. Pool area off limits.
A nice hotel as well for business events as for holidays. We got a special price for the weekend and what we got for was great. A big room, nice and big bathroom. The furniture in the room is a bit old-fashioned but in a good condition. The breakfast was outstanding. They offer loads of sparetime activities!!
Location There was no conditioner in my room, just bad ventilation. Sum funiture is broken.
The hotel is gorgeous and is in a perfect location in the mountains of Tuscany. The nearby city of Barga is fascinating to explore, as are all the small villages dotted around the hills. And there's plenty to see and do at Il Ciocco itself. All in all, an ideal holiday spot. The hotel doesn't have an iron for the use of the guests, and for the price of having a garment ironed, I could have bought new clothing. I'll bring my own iron next time I visit.
The room was nice and clean Although there seemed to be plenty of free rooms, we first got a room that looked out on a dirty place and some rocks and where there was a constant noise of a machine. Only after complaining we got a better room.
The hotel was smart and comfortable. The staff were good. Breakfast was reasonable. (I did not have chance to have dinner or use the pool). I would stay again. I guess the cost seemed more because it was for one person only. The car park was awkward and full sometimes.
Good restaurant and welcome; most staff excellent. Our room was on the north side, and in mid September was very cold and dark, with no sunshine or warmth from ourside. The management declined to put on heating. Breakfast was rather boring.
The location, the restaurant As a lot of hotels in Italy, the noise insulation is pretty bad
Excellent hotel, good value for money.Bar very poorly stocked. Credit card machine not working and they did not accept travellers cheques.
The pool is superb, the staff are helpful and the scenery nearby is stunning The breakfast was very disappointing
the water in the shower was not hot. the restaurant was closed on tuesday. it was not signposted at the junction 100m away and due to a fault on google earth for the position of the hotel we were lost for a while.
A beautifully maintained hotel with lovely gardens and a glorious swiming pool. A quiet and comfortable bedroom, well appointed and with a brilliant view of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals were of a high quality and reasonably priced. Easy to find by car and plenty of parking space. Glorious countryside. We will certainly stay here again. The choice at breakfast was a little limited and staff were a bit slow to top things up as they ran out. There was a mini bar in the bedroom but it was empty These were minor issues which in no way made our stay any the less enjoyable.
This is a clean/modern hotel with good pool facilities. Although this is situated in a fairly urban area it is very residential. Good for touring the Garfagnana area with close links to road networks. The food was also of a good standard with friendly staff. None
Good food , nice gardens and pool, food at dinner was excellent reasonable wine list I did not like your price ,the hotel rate was only euro 85 In future I will book hotels directly I arrived aday early and spent atotal of 3 days there.
