With a stay at Power's Mansion Inn in Auburn, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Placer County Visitors Bureau and Historic Old Town Auburn. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I went there on a romantic getaway with my wife. The room was very clean, and the Victorian period decor was fun and romantic. The breakfast in the morning (especially the fretata) was amazing! We both loved our stay!
Cons: The old-fashioned shower was a bit tough to maneuver, but that's a small complaint. Also, the room was described as over-looking a garden, though it was actually a turf courtyard.
Pros: The owner and his son are delightful! They prepares a breakfast that is amazing! We could not attend the regular breakfast because we had to leave early every morning, but the owner made sure we did not leave without something delicious that he cooked especially for us. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy and his place is amazing! You need to remember this is a B&B, so bring all your toiletries, and plan to clean your own room during your stay. The atmosphere is very kick-back and friendly, Also dog friendly.

Pros: We had to leave early so missed breakfast but it looked wonderful. A beautiful place where you step back in time. Want to come back and stay longer.

Pros: Close to our golf venues...parking in front of door, easy access in & out
Cons: Ice machine should be in eating/lobby area..
Pros: Clean place with a nice breakfast. The staff was really nice.
Cons: The noise from the freeway seem to be very noisy. I attribute this to the gap on the doors. I think that if some weather stripping were placed there, it would cut the outside noise in half.
Cons: Room was unlocked and door was ajar when we got there. Scared us. Mgr apologized, but still, it was scary to walk in to room, not knowing if there was someone there.
Pros: The hotel was clean as a whistle, the bed very comfortable and everything worked great. The breakfast selections were varied and good too. Great stay.
Pros: I came in early and the staff went out of their way to provide a room for me so I could get cleaned up prior to a wedding that I was attending. Even the next day they wanted to know how the wedding was. Great people run this place.

Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: I did not feel very safe there. The other clientele was questionable. I changed rooms because of a hole in the way and a toilet that did not flush. The staff was not very hosptiable.
Cons: Room was dirty, hair and remodel debris on floor. Right after we got into room a maintenance guy opened our door said he wanted to check the room as he heard it got rented. Horrible place. Wife didn't sleep or use the tub.
Pros: Good WiFi speeds.
Cons: Could turn tv on but not able to change channel. Front desk said to unplug the cable box and plug back in. Didn't work.
Cons: The front desk person was rude. She insisted that we asked for a smoking room although we tried to show her the booking. The morning desk person refused to give us a copy of our bill. We were put in a room with a broken toilet seat and no running water in The shower/bath. My husband was addressed with "what do you want" comment when he went to let them know about the problem.

Cons: Not sure if the power outage affected this but the refrigerator in room was still full of the previous occupants food. The toilets were slow and didn’t always flush Food at breakfast pretty marginal

Cons: A little expensive but awesome overall.
Pros: Breakfast was totally dismal, so was our room..

Pros: Location was good for us
Cons: The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The toilet seat was gross and there was splatter on the bathroom walls that looked like blood. The shower was old and dingy.
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Pros: My friend & I have bad knees. I said no stair. We get there & our room is right down the hall on main floor & so is ice. Great where do we park? “Wherever you can find a place!” he laughs. We were stuck parking Dow by first floor door & forced to lung ourselves & our luggage up the stairs. No extra blanket so I froze in bed. Never, ever again.
Cons: That I pick this hell hole.
Pros: Modern clean room
Cons: Interior hallways were dark, dirty, and horrible smell
Pros: Rooms were clean and staff friendly
Pros: Not much
Cons: Drug addicts puking in the hallway. One way into the building. No carts for your things
Pros: At first I didn’t think I could check in as they had no WiFi, but the girl kept trying and finally was able to do it. Very grateful!
Cons: No TV or WiFi, just glad to have lights.
Cons: The bed, it was very hard, noise, there was a gap in the door and I to use towels to block the light comming in
Pros: We stopped in Auburn during one of the PGE power outages and Motel 6 had a generator. The room was clean and quiet. No carpeting is a plus. A bed, table and chairs, and a shower were all we needed for an overnight stay. We'll have no problem taking the grandkids with us, and letting them play on the floor. Hot coffee and maybe tea were in the foyer, along with a tv incase you get up before the rest of the family.
Pros: The clerk at front desk very nice. Changed our room after toilet failed to flush properly and towel rack fell down.
Cons: 1. First room had maintenance problems as explained above. 2. Bed had only one flat, uncomfortable pillow for each of us. 3. Mattress kept sliding away from headboard. 4. Train roared past on top of us. 5. Mildew inside shower corners.
Cons: Price and room appointment.

Cons: Shower was either burning or freezing. No adjusting. I also was told there was on- street parking for trucks and ended up getting trapped on a dead end street.
Pros: So close to becon station and the street sign was difficult to see so drove past it the first time.
Pros: Location (super quiet) and small squishy pillows instead of huge firm ones. Also everything worked.the only
Cons: The only negative was the visual appeal of the carpet. It was clean but old and stained. This would not keep me from staying again or recommending to friends.
Pros: There was no carpet.
Cons: Low water pressure, bathroom sink clogged, towels too small and too thin, bed was like sleeping on wood! Bed was way too hard!
Cons: The BREAKFAST is adequate but could be a bit better
Pros: Nothing much to report. The facility was awful and room was poorly maintained. The only thing that was good was the front desk agent who was new. He was pleasant.

Located in Auburn, Elmwood Motel is within a 15-minute walk of Placer County Visitors Bureau and Historic Old Town Auburn. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The bed and the bathroom were really nice
Cons: Nothing in particular
Pros: Eveuwas awesome!
Pros: The rooms were totally remodeled despite the Bates Motel appearance outside the rooms were modern and clean.
Cons: The exterior is in very poor shape.
Pros: The motel was easy to find once I entered the area. The room was simple and comfortable for what I needed on my visit. The price was fine and the staff were very pleasant, which I appreciated. All in all, I had a good stay there.
Cons: It was undergoing construction at the time, which was a bummer. The sounds of the road were an issue and the lights outside the room unfortunately remained on all night. The blinds didn't help as much as I'd hoped.
Pros: I like that I could walk to downtown with ease. Walked up the hill to my son's home. Staff was hospitable. the place was clean even though remodeling is in progress.
Cons: Although there is no way to change this...traffic was a little loud because of the hills. Quiet at night for a good rest.
Cons: The first opinion after arrival in Friday evening was, that it's parking lot is kind of meeting point for local gangs. However the reception was was warm and facilities were clean.
Pros: Location, tv, bathroom
Cons: All was good
Pros: Great location. Walking distance from downtown.
Cons: They are completing construction so I am sure the outside will look better once they are finished.
Pros: Very nice room! Exterior doesn’t compliment how nice the rooms are for the price! Would definitely recommend
