Great Hotel, Fabulous setting and the staff are very friendly and will do anything to enable your stay to be memorable. I was on business nearby and the staff let my wife stay longer in the room whilst I was at my appointment which was thoughtful. The view from the room is stunning. No I love this hotel.
Friendliness of staff, view from room, leisure facilities. Limited choice of set dinner menu did not cater for English tastes e.g. one night choice of either veal or cuttle fish.
friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere in family, comfort and the possibility of healthy physical activity nothing to mention
Almost everything, but specially the view from my room (and from the bar !). The walls are not exactly soundproof...and I was unlucky because there was a family with children in the room next door.
the quiet and the comfort
The hotel was spacious set in nice surroundings and the staff helpfull, it was nice to have the pool as we had young children with us.
Great view, nice rural location, staff were friendly. Ate there one night and dinner was good. Had good spa packages. The leisure areas (indoor pool in particular) would benefit from some updating and maintenance. They are clean and are fine, but for a four star hotel, things like missing floor tiles on the pool floor should be replaced. Also it would be good if the hotel literature and information (i.e. on swimming pool opening hours) was translated into English for the ease of visitors who do not speak Portuguese.
The Location of the Hotel and background is one of its most remarking features. You also can rely upon the staff to help you through your stay and enjoy its SPA. We also enjoyed the activities provided by Desafios Caramulo that you can sign in at the front desk,, but you always have to be advised that as they only perform the activities for a minimum number of participants some times you can be desappointed by the canceling of some of the activities the rooms need some refurbishment and they should try to increase the TV offer as its very limited
Lots of facilities from pool to excellent dining room. Lovely area with plenty of walking opportunities. Food very good apart from bones in the fish! We British! Not really enough proactive promotion by the hotel about its facilities.
The beautiful, large, mature garden. The very pleasant setting of the swimming-pool. The exquisite, harmonious decoration of the main house.
The staff, which are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and it´s a nice place to rest. The garden is beautiful and the pool is great. We loved it!
Overall a great place to stay. Beautiful House, pool and tennis court, and gourgeus landscape surroundings. Very good price for quality provided. Loads of character A previous guest spiled a beer by the pool, which was absorved by the grass. The smell atracted to many flies. This is not the fault of the managment, just lack of respect of other guests.
Price only No mini bar very limited services. No room service no menu only "set menu 1 choice dinner" available from 7pm to 10pm. No bar, you can buy drinks from the lobby; no snacks or any options to get food near buy on the weekend.
Liked the staff, the food and location nothing
Comfortable hotel, excellent breakfast, recommended
The staff were competent, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good. I think that the hotel has had a major upgrade recently. Everything was clean and it worked! Quite an easy walk from the hotel into town.
A very nice and charming hotel with all nowadays facilities located in a beautiful rural environment. The renovation of the old quinta is an example how modern technology and the beauty of a traditional Portuguese house can be combined. The room and the balcony give a relaxed feeling. The dishes in the restaurant combine the traditional Portuguese dishes with modern taste. The personnel is very friendly.
Friendly personel, nice rooms, good food (menu of the day for 15€ =good and more than you can eat) and amazingly great choice of portuguese wine and Porto. Oudoor swimming pool is nice and refreshing (not cold). The hotel is difficult to find (even with GPS) but it is worth the efford. Free WiFi works OK. As frequent traveler, I think that this is the first time I have nothing to criticize about a hotel.
Our stay in the hotel was wonderful .....lovely room .... fabulous breakfast buffet ..... gorgeous relaxing pool. We will return for a longer stay.
We found everything about this hotel wonderful, from the beautifully restored installations to the outstanding food and the friendly staff that really makes guests feel welcome. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.
Very central The fact that the restaurant was not open on our first night (a Monday) and that they did not take credit cards! Luckily we had cash!
clean and simple, good price and good service. Heating was not strong enough - room was cold.
Very friendly staff. They were very flexible to our needs, even changed their breakfast schedule in our benefit to earlier hours. The room was very nice and cozy.
Quality very high vs price. Free wi-fi internet. Stuff very friendly speaking perfect english. smell in the room was not very nice.
The young couple that run the place really made us all feel very welcome. Their eye for detail and care taken to explain the "lay of the land" was very good. They went out of their way to assist one of our members that did not attend the business meetings to ensure that she was driven to areas of interest. A really good feel. We will all go back there should the opportunity arise. The hotel owner should really consider in allowing guests to pay with major international recognised credit cards. It is not reasonable to expect people to carry large sums of cash to pay for accommodation.
Excelleny hospitality, good facilities, stylish, excellent views, great breakfast, excellent value for money
I cannot imagine a more friendly reception than the one provided by Maria Celeste and Antonio, and their son Felipe. Their taste in decoration, and the quality of the breakfast and the level of comfort surpassed our expectations.
This is an excellent hotel set in a very pleasant and friendly town. The rooms and facilities are very good – luxury with style. The most impressive aspect of my stay, however, was the very friendly and helpful owners, Maria, her husband and son. They made me feel very welcome, accommodated my lack of Portuguese, including escorting me to the local restaurants to interpret the menu and convey what I required to the restaurant staff.
good English spoken , great service, picturesque old town, highly reccommended
Interior design and the excellent breakfast buffet
The owners of the hotel were involved personnaly with our stay and it was an excellent experince. I'm a business traveler and normally on the road a min. of 3 weeks out of every month. My only issue with this Hotel was I didn't get to stay longer.
Although our stay was only for 1 night, we are really delighted. Firstly because of the extremely personal attention of the owners, Maria and her husband. They escorted us to a nice restaurant, they gave us a nightly tour around historic Vouzela, they showed us all the premises. Seondly, Casa Musea is an extremely sophisticated and lovely designed Hospederia (Hostal, hotel) with luxury all over, for a very attractive (read: low) price. We recommend it to everybody who is calm and who loves peace. Best regards for Maria and husband. Really no single element to have critics. To the contrary.
Old World Charm & location, location, location limited internet connection - lobby only, none in the room
Hotel owner went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us with special needs/requests. Exceptional service, beautiful place, wonderful little town.
