An ideal place to stop on a journey through Spain The hotel was visible from the highway so easy to find.
nice and spacious hotel and very clean. the food in the a la carte restaurant was very expensive and not really very good!
Good value for a nice and spacious accomodation with attractive decor
when we stayed, business meetings were taking place, we woke up a several times from 01am to 4am due to participants were talking loud at corridor. We do not think we wish to return there.
The proximity to the highway and the comfort, everything was really silent and the breakfast offers quite a variety of food!
Big, comfortable, super located close to the highway, to the shopping mall, but the rooms were quite and tidy.
Very nice room and facilities, all new and clean. Perfect location for those Zaragosa and Barcelona. Breakfast is a bit too expensive. No cash machine in the hotel.
Excellent restaurant, decor very tasteful
Too much noise on the hall during the night
One guest who didn't know had charged the breakfast fee to my room. It was recognized when I checked out.
Other staff, waiters etc were quite pleasant and helpful The head of reception (male) was very unwelcoming. He needs to learn to smile at visitors when they arrive,
Great breakfast buffet at very reasonable price. Super easy access from the highway with free parking right in front of hotel. Good bathroom.
The staff were friendly Rooms need updating, damp on the walls under the window and there were tiles missing in the bathroom
We were shocked when we drove up to this hotel. It was not what we were expecting based on the area and other hotels we saw. It was beautiful inside and out. The staff was very friendly and the room comfortable.
easy to find (near main road) hotel star rate does not corresponds to the fact, hotel corridor refrigerators (free minibars) were empty
Very convenient to Alcala and with parking on site was ideal for what we wanted. The entrance to the hotel was hard to find on our first visit but easy there after.
Location next to old town and business offices nothing
Very modern, nice room with great appointments. Staff was helpful, some language difficulties. Room lighting was hard to figure out (switches)
- I did not like the layout of the room. It looked good but it was not very practical.
The hotel is very nice and clean. It´s completely new and the design is very nice. The room was big an clean. The breakfast very good.
new, clean and with nice contemporary design located outside the town centre close to a junction and gas station - 10-15 minutes walk to the centre
the location and the service no
The hotel was of a good standard although we felt that it would have served us better had it been more central.
free mini-bar, central location, nice room
Clean spacious bathrooms, including bidet and large shower. Large and soft bath towels. Staff is somewhat less than friendly, maybe even a bit gruff. One can hear the people in nearby rooms use the bathroom at night.... bad soundproofing.
Very nice hotel: parking - available; good breakfast; English-speaking personnel; comfortable rooms.
They had no record of my booking (as notified to booking.com by separate email
Polite and helpful receptionist. The first and last time we found this during our tour around Spain The bar was closed until 8 o'clock and it was so difficult to get a drink, we gave up.
Excellent location, close to all historic sites so easy to walk around. Car parking was ample in locked garage. Good selection of food in the cafeteria. No
Ultra modern and very near for sightseeing.
It was a nice modern hotel
Beautiful design of rooms, wonderful sense of space and very friendly staff. The price / quality ratio was very good.
Cleanliness of the room, nice surroundings
The location in the historic centre of Alcala is excellent. Free wifi and a busy bar make this a good bet for a traditional central stay.
Great Location.Spacious rooms.Friendly staff. Although a very good breakfast it was a bit chaotic as only one person seemed to be in charge of breakfast and the attached cafe and bar which was very popular.
The hotel was very central to the town, with all amenities close by. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and the staff were approachable. The hotle was very good value for money, and I would happily stay there again.
The location was excellent. It was in the center of Alcala which is where most of the businesses were. The room had very uncomfortable beds and the room temperature was uncontrollable and extremely hot for our liking.
location expansive for services
Beautiful old building in the centre of a lovely historic town. Staff were rude and had no concept of good customer service.
hotel is close to center and main attraction (althoguh not properly a touristic city) Quality of breakfast was poor; room was a bit noisy as was on university square
everything - perfect location and hotel
Proximity to Old town. Comfort of hotel. Lovely old bar. Friendly staff. Access to hotel. Car park 10 minutes away.
A very spacious, comfortable room. Welcoming and helpful staff. Good location, free parking and wifi. Very good price for the standard of accommodation and service.
The hotel promotion pictures are old and misleading. The hotel is dark, dingy and not terrribly clean. The rooms reeked of cigarettes and the managers answer to our complaint about the 1 st room was to move us to another room, but only after spraying an obnoxiously sweet deodorizer to mask the tobacco odor. What a dive. The hotel also advertises being only 15 minutes from the airport, but upon check-in we were informed to leave an hour. Ended up taking more than 2 hours due to rush hour traffic and we missed our flight. We generally stay in budget minded hotels, but would not recommend that anyone stay here!
free parking was a plus, resturant was pleasant. no non-smoking rooms,
Very friendly, helpful staff. Front desk manned 24 hours. Free off-road car parking. 20 minutes walk from Alcala centre. This did not worry us in the slightest, but could be an issue with children or the elderly.
The bedrooms were clean and bedding decent. Bathroom gave me a good shower which is very important to me. Nothing. I thought it was great.
Very friendly staff Breakfast not very good. Please don´t use bimbo bread.
Very quiet place with a beautiful view. The golf course looked very nice too, though I didn't have opportunity to play. the swimming pool opens too late in the morning (11:00 AM) and *WAY* too early at night (7:00 PM???). It made it impossible for us to enjoy the amenity, since we were in Madrid most of the day.
Comfortable and well presented room. Free non-alcoholic minibar. Reasonable fitness room for size of hotel (3 cardio machines, a collection of dumbells and a Turkish bath - access on request). Good choice/quality of continental breakfast items. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. The hotel location, next to the motorway, is over 45 minutes walk from the rail stations and the beautiful, old town centre of Alcala de Heneres (which is definitely worth a visit), although there is a local bus - number 7 - from the hotel to the town square (takes 20 minutes - €1 each way).
it is a very nice hotel
The wireless internet is only available in the lobby. For internet in the rooms you must pay!
I am familiar with the location Definitely need to add comfort to their beds. The beds are extremely hard and not comfortable. They need new mattresses.
I had 2 complaints 1) the start of the slope down to the garage is too accute as I grounded my car on going over it. 2) you should introduce a Pequeno desayuno for those that whant a little more than just a cup of coffee
it wasn't an iron or iron service in the room or even in the hotel an a 4 star hotel should have it
The Bar staff were fantastic & made up for all the trouble tryinf to find the Hotel at 10pm...... Ben, Aurelio & Daniella - excellent service & conversation!! Road sign directions were non-existent. It was very hard to find. When I rang for directions, the staff member didn't spak very good English & didn't know the area very well. We asked for a double room & got 2 single beds - not what one wants when one is on holiday with one's girlfriend!!
Nice gardens in which to relax by a an excellent pool. Good sized terrace overlooking the pool & gardens Ridiculous however that we were not allowed by the bar/waiter to charge any of our drinks to the room and had to keep going back and forth with cash. Bizzarly when mentioning this issue at the time of our check-out the receptionist told me that this was not in fact the hotel's policy and we should have been able to charge our drinks & food to the room
Convenient position for Madrid airport. Good eating opportunities close to hand.
easy to find, nice swimmingpool (open air) surrounded by the rooms with terrace. Must be nice when warmer. New hotel. Excellent room. in industry area, close to noisy road (noisy if windows are open)
good staffs, clean and modern room, free under ground parking.nice dinner and the price is very reasonable. breakfast is 10 euro in spite of the information of the booking.com 5.5 euro.In the big city maybe this price is average? I prefer fruit or normal yoghurt.
Service, food, rooms, pool Location, but, I knew where it was in advance and since I had pets I had little choice
nice large room , easy to find, very expensive restaurant,
All was fine.
Good location just outside Madrid - Good location for overnight stop whilst travelling south. Superb buffest breakfast was available and included in room price. Restaurant was closed so food was limited to cafeteria in hotel - not a great choice was available.
The receptionist are very frendly and able to communicate fairly in english The Hotel restaurant is not in service to provide meal for the guest also at the end of my stay the hot water in the bathroom seize to function
The hotel was in a good location just a few minutes (12) walk from the Town centre and I must say what a fanastic town centre Alcala de Henares is. I had no idea that I had chosen such a fantastic location! As other people have said the girls on the front desk are really really helpful. The hotel was clean, smart, and comfortable. The free wi-fi was great. The car park below the hotel was useful and I don't think over expensive at 9 euros a night - better than in the street. We used this hotel travelling down to Granada and on the way back. Being english I like my tea making facilities the hotel had no faciltites for this at all - in fact we found that none of the hotels we stopped at had these facilities so next time we will take a travel kettle. Mind you as a result we crossed the road and went to the bar in between the flats and had a couple of coffees and a lager for less than 5 euros plus a couple of tapas - completly spainish brilliant!
The rooms were spacious with a brilliant shower in the bathroom. The bus stop was literally outside the door.
Clean, quiet, value for money Poor parking on arrival, leading to dragging luggage from a very gloomy underground garage and entrance thro' "the back door" More street signs needed - no easy to find.
The staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. They were also very helpful whenever I needed directions or taxis. The hotel was not much to look at from the outside, but the rooms were a very good 3 star standard on the inside. The breakfast was was not what I was expecting. It would normally include cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, etc. but these were not provided. Just bread and butter. Beware that it is about a 20 minute walk to the centre. This can be quite annoying until I realised that there are very few hotels closer to the centre than this. I would have been nice to have an information pack in the room as well as an English tv station.
Friendly staff long way from rail station
Handicapped Accessible and reasonable value for money The Staff while pleasant had a very poor command of english. The breakfast offered was a "joke"
Friendliness of reception staff Breakfast not great
easy to get to the centre of town need a better hairdryer
All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel and rooms were all very clean. Hotel very convenient for Madrid airport. Only food served in hotel is breakfast. There are bars nearby but surroundings might seem intimidating to some people, but we found staff in bars and shop nearby to be very welcoming and friendly.
Location. Proximity to train station to Madrid.
Everything was good here, staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and for what you got it was very reasonable, especially as we booked it last minute. Thank You. None
Comfortable and quite, location is okay. the staffs speaks english Language barrier. No english TV channel.
Nice and helpful staff, good location next to railway station (by train it took 2-3 min. To get to the center), Waiter couldn't speek english, so it was difficult to talk to him; to little room - if you would like to stay in a room only for get some rest and sleep it's wonderful, but if you would like to work there during a day and eg: prepare something to eat in the room there is not enough space
good price, good value, clean and simple, easily accesible by public transportation, la garena is a lovely new area with lots of great restaurants and nightlife
Clean rooms and bathroom, comfortable beds. Easy access to main roads and the airport. Rooms are not soundproof. Hotel is next to a noisy shopping mall. Staff was rude and totally indifferent. We had terrible night because of noise and our request to change to a quiter room was rejceted, although we specifically demanded such in advance. Late-commers highly recommended to avoid this hotel, as no solutions to any problem would be offered. No WiFi in rooms, no refrigerator/minibar. Without bidet.
Reception staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Food poor and expensive
fairly new and still clean, close to some restaturants, but far from the center of town, not within walking distance. The staff was discourteous, not customer friendly at all. Tended to become sarcastic and antagonistic when asking questions.
rooms were very comfortable and clean the noise outside the room was awful. both on the landing outside the room and outside the hotel itself, i could nnot sleep because of the noise.
It is ideally situated. Two minutes walk to the train station for Madrid. Surrounded by restaurants and bars. Easy to find. On the second night we asked for a table in the restaurant and were told to come at 21.00. By which time the only food available was a very sorry looking buffet and a Spanish dish of tripe. We walked out and went to one of the local restaurants, which was excellent.
Cleanliness and nice welcome from reception staff. In fact the lady on reception wore a number of hats: Receptionist, Barlady, Chef, Waitress and Odd Job Lady Although booking.com advertised that there would be a bath in our room, we didn't get one, which was a dreadful shame for us because my husband had been looking forward to a soak in the bath after his 7-hour drive. Also the restaurant was rather limited in choice of meals. It was also difficult to get to from the motorway, even though we could see it from the road.
We'd been victims of a scam on the way. The hotel receptionist was fantastic and helped us to contact the police. Secure parking. A bit hard to find especially as our Navigator had been stolen.
Clean; easy access to the freeway. It is nothing like what described in recent reviews. The room was clean but small and very basic. I would say no more than a 2* rating. Buffet breakfast was also very basic; nothing to write home about. I spent 31 nights in (mostly) 4* and (a few) 3* hotels around Spain during August-September and I would rate this one at the bottom of the list. On the other hand, it wasn't the cheapest one. Indeed, they give a free secured parking, but the parking is also the front of the hotel and it gives some kind of uneasy feeling like being imprisoned with the close big steel gate. To go to down you first drive 3 km in the opposite direction on a one way service road and then you make a U turn to go back on the freeway.
Beds were hard. OK if you like a very, very firm matress. Very good breakfast. Host was very knowledge about questions we asked and spoke some English.
food had a home made feel. given a smoking room - as a consecuece bad night sleed due to fumes not evident as I had cold and disguissed with a deodorant late at nigh woke up with a foul taste of nicotine - not clear instructions how to get to the hotel. - Noisy from being so close to the motorway
We have stayed at the hotel last year and were happy to stay a second time . The hotel is in a good possision not far from Madrid and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpfull . Accomodation is clean and modern and the secure parking is an added bonus . Meals were also good nothing we did not like about the hotel
Cleanliness and size of room location not so good, and breakfast not great.
I was very impressed with this Hotel. The manager and staff were very attentive throughout. We stayed for dinner and continental breakfast which were both excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean. It is very handy for the motorway and the manager was helpful with suggestions for the next leg of our journey, circumnavigating Madrid. This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 4 week trip.
Located on the center town The noise and the bathrooms
The hotel is very well located, We had from our room a very nice view over an historical buiding. staff was very nice
well positioned in the centre of city. Excellent staff and comfortable room lack of control over air conditioning. restricted on street parking
A lovely little hotel in the centre of a village just good distance from Madrid. On arrival the receptionist did a map for us to get to the train station, and was very helpful. The rooms are very tastefully designed.
An excellent family hotel, the staff were exemplary and did everything to make a most pleasurable stay.
It was one of the best value for money hotels we have stayed at.The decor and rooms were first class and the staff so accomodating.
The room was well equipped and clean; The hotel gives good value for money accomodation. The breakfast-time was as of nine o'clock, which is late in my opinion.
The people of the town were very friendly.
The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and we had a view over the Plaza Major. The staff were very helpful. The parking, although secure, is a five-minute walk from the hotel and there wasn't a lot of space, so I imagine not all guests can have a parking space.
Wonderful individual hotel, modern and comfortable, very good restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. The town itself is very quiet - which is what I wanted. Beautiful details in the different rooms and a handsome offering of quality gels, shampoos, etc. Treated me like a prince.
When I asked for tea to drink with my breakfast I was told there wasn't any. I can't believe a large hotel had no tea bags!
acessibilty,friendly staff room little small
I stayed at the Kris Alcala in early June and found it a most enjoyable experience. The hotel is easy to find and there are a good selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is modern and bright, the room was a good size, the bathroom was large. The breakfast was of .a very good quality with hot and cold dishes available. All in all,a very nice experience. A non-slip mat in the bottom of the bath would dispell any fears of slipping.
I liked the hotel, it was clean, the staff were helpful. Unfortunately it was to far from where our friends live to suit us.
Although not really in Alcala it was a 5 minute drive to the old town
New and clean.
Excellent stop over when travelling to the south. Very comfortable. Easy rail connection into Madrid No problems
Good budget hotel with very polite staff. Breakfast was adequate but have had better
modern, efficient noisy background music
the environment and friendly staffs the room lacked facilities like fridge and internet facilities. you have to buy internet access
The huge double bed - very comfortable. Room was very warm and we had to sleep with the window open as the heating/aircon control would not allow us to use the aircon only the heating. It was a little noisy as a result. There are two IBIS hotels in Alcala and the road signs direct you to the other one which is right at the other end of town. Could do with some signs to this one.
Good location for the trains, car park security excellent,
