An ancient monastery undergo a very nice and modern renovation. Very romantic location with superior restaurants and very good wellness area.
The excellent stafff provided a very personal service which is very unusual in hotels nowadays. The food was excellent and beautifully presented along with wonderful surroundings. We have not been this impressed for a very long time...5 stars to all concerned.
the beautfil surroundings and the staff were exepationally helpful and polite. I did not like the fact that there was no tourist information in english as i would have been interested in exploring the local area.
great location, wonderful staff. The best I've stayed in in the area
Everything has been excellent throughout my (unfortunately) short stay; the monastery has been restored very well, friendly staff and an excellent room completed the positive picture. As a cherry on the cake, the bill has been reduced from my expectations. A truly remarkable place!
The gourmet meal - it was fabulous!! I wasn't crazy about the "Shaker" style decor in our room.
excellent service and surroundings throughout no
Wonderful property. Setting and renovation was wonderful. We had a very good meal in the restaurant.
The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was reasonable too.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The views were lovely and the spa facilities were excellent.
The level of comfort and quality of lodging and catering was very high.
every thing its a great place to stop
The room was nice and had a terrace that looked out to the forest. In the rooms, you need to put an electrical outlet beside the work desk. I had no place to plug in my laptop there so I had to sit at the small table which was not comfortable.
hotel staff, restaurant staff bathroom size and equipment, too small, you never expect such a bathroom in a four stars hotel.
Comfort of the whole premises, value for money
Excellent location within the heart of the Pfalzwald countryside. The hotel itself was first class - beautiful rooms and spa facilities, including a lovely indoor swimming pool. The service from staff was courteous and friendly and the food was of the highest standard and beautifully presented in a lovely dining room and terrace.
The breakfast. This is more like a 3-star hôtel. This W-E the 2 restaurants were requisitioned for 2 different weddings. For the diner we were redirected towards an outside restaurant in the city. The charm had left.
great hotel, excellent staff and wonderful rooms
The room was a nice size for one person. Food is good. The room is clean and made up well. The TV channels are limited for English channels. There could have been more towels and toilettries. The spa was not what I expected for the expensive price. They need to update their old spa tubs as they are far too small and uncomfortable. This is more like a 3-star spa now. I was told by a desk clerk that their Land Haus Restaurant was closed, and it was not. I was told to go to the expensive restaurant for which I did not like for lunch. The waitstaff did not smile & acted annoyed with their jobs. The desk staff then apologized to me that the Land Haus Restaurant was indeed open, and they made a mistake. They did not offer to take anything off the bill. I had to pay over 30 Euros for a lunch that I did not want. They could have given me a complimentary lunch for the mistake.
Beautiful setting. Atmosphere very pleasant and staff friendly A bit expensvie because of poor exchange rate of euro to pound.
Excellent, Overall enjoyable due to fantastic staff, Infact very nice staff, and helpful, Food was good and ambience was good aswell at the restaurant. Rooms were very small, I had to pay more and upgrade to bigger room, but still it was small as compared to other rooms I have been to
hotel staff none smoking area inside/bar
I stayed here before and it was as good as ever. My room was no-smoking (booking specified smoking).
Cleanliness, good size room, good lighting for reading and working at desk, proper restaurant that didn't feel like a hotel restaurant Expensive wi-fi in room but business centre PC worked very efficiently; outdoor walk to reception (actually as it didn't rain I did like this as I hate stuffy hotels); vending machine for out of hours dricnks did not work
The room was large compared to European standard rooms. I had requested a room with a good view of town and they did accomodate us. They have an onsite restaurant that is open in the evenings and was decorated beautifully. Also, the food was really good. The breakfast (which is included in the price of room) was outstanding. Go 79th Engineers!! The room did have a small kitchenette in it with basic cooking facilities in it but dishes etc were dirty, tho we did not plan to use this amenity anyway.
Our room was spacious and spotless, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great; Staff was very helpful.
We loved the friendliness of the staff at the Alt Pirmasens. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their biergarten (beer garden) was a wonderful place for dinner -- very cheerful -- and we felt comfortable with our entire family. Although we had to have 2 separate rooms (for 2 adults & 2 children), they put our rooms close together. One room was an efficiency with its own stove, refrigerator & balcony!
The room was quite nice and clean. The hotel lobby was locked when we arrived in the early afternoon, and the note directing us to a room for the manager to check in was written in German, so it was difficult to check in and it was raining to boot.
clean rooms, helpful staff, excellent breakfast
Room was spacious, desk staff freindly and coureous. Breakfast was good - small bar off lobby is relaxed.
Clean, quiet and helpful with directions
Nothing rooms were very very basic, no comfort, hotel product - soap bath gel etc had been bought from local cheap price shop, seating furniture in the room was a mixture of office furniture rooms need to be undated
seeing nazareth on tour
the dinner and breakfast where very good, the staff where very friendly, overall an exerlent pace to stay
The room was quite big and reflected the location. The breakfast was lovely The bar only opened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Not a lot of good when staying on a Monday. Also the restaurant only had a limited menu for dinner "because the hotel isn't full".
The staff, food and accommodation no
Quiet rural location Because so few were staying the restaurant was closed.
Very quiet and the room was very large On the night we were there only a limited buffet of local dishes was available
very good breakfast Very difficult to reach due to horrendous roadworks, and road closures (apparently these have been going on for a year and a half, but we had no warning of them)
The staff were very friendly and kind, the restaurant and food were very good, the location is beautiful and the rooms were extremely comfortable
At check-in was advised that restaurant would be open from 7-10pm, found this was shut, had to find evening meal elsewhere, not good for a Hotel! With a 3 star rating. Found the Die Kliene Blume in Erfweiler, on my journey to Austria, with no stars more friendley and better service!!
Good hotel, very friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and our stay was very pleasant. Pool was clean (if a little cool) and sauna very nice at the end of the day. All our enquires before the booking were answered quickly and information spot on. Would use again.
The welcome from arrival onwards, the very good service in the restaurant and the range of facilities including a swimming pool. We very much enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again next year.
The hotels staff was very accommodating when it came to my wife and I's request. The hotel is literally miles from civilization and one would think that there would be more in the room (i.e. refrigerator, microwave) that way you can make sure you have something to snack on at night. That is unless you don't mind driving 15km to get something to eat. The price is
Excellent, comfortable modern room. Rang to say we were arriving lte. The hotel does have a restaurant and kitchen. Arrived at 10pm. tired and hungry. Told by night staff waitress/check in there was nothing to eat - I even asked for some bread and there was no response. As the hotel is in the country and nothing was opened in the very small, this response didn't warrant the 4* rating! Also, only 1 towel + limited bathroom supplies in a double room. Little things, but made me critical of the rating. Didn't expect we should have to ask for these basics as it was a booking. The following morning, with different staff, the service was impeccable. Proving that individual employees make a huge difference to a business.
Very pour breakfast, in all the beds were not fresh linen( I found a lot of hair on the beds, apparently someone was asleep before us in these beds, and after the first night, I gently asked the owner of the hotel why on bed sheets hair and dirt, the owner of the hotel said that it could not be, but it changed us all bed linens),
Excellent hosts. The booking confirmation form sent did not contain the phone number of the hotel and we ended up paying an unnecessary €12 for a taxi.
We loved basically everything about our stay, including: delicious breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable room, location and more. It was just perfect for a relaxing time away. The free transfers to and from the airport were perfect and allowed the journey to be less stressful. Free bike hire was a plus as we were able to explore the countryside. 100% loved our stay! No..
The guest house was excellent value and the food was great, would go again
We felt very welcome. The staff are very friendly and have very good knowledge and information about the immediate and surrounding area. The room was spacious and well presented. There are good facilities available too.
Friendly Husband and Wife owners made us feel very welcome. Amazing waterbed and luxury bathroom, with zacuzzi bath and body massaging shower, with radio!! Excellent value evening meal, and superb breakfast
the relaxed feeling plus the steamroom and sauna bath nothing
We were made to feel very welcome. Monika added so many extra special touches such as complimentary cakes and coffee on arrival, with chocolates for the children. Gluhwein one evening. Extra breakfast etc..We were collected and taken back to the airport and the designer outlet by Monika and her family. This was so much more than just bed & breakfast and we would definetly recommend this guest house
Our hosts were fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming. The stay was very private. The hosts stay out of your way except to provide any meals. On the other hand, if you prefer to talk, as we did, they are very personable and easy to talk to. We spent an excellent time discussing their Alaska cruise and looking at pictures. Also, since they also operate a spa, the bathroom was appointed very nicely. Tub was six feet long, heated floors, separate shower, lots of nice amenities. Would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is in the small town of Hornbach, making it a very quiet place to stay, but only a mile or so from the Zweibrucken shopping outlets, so you can reach the city very quickly. Would love to visit again! Nothing.
Very friendly people letting a nice and big and well equipped apartment. The letting is rather a B&B than a hotel.
