Pros: Quiet. Authentic old château with modern facilities. Nice swimming pool. Attention to detail.
Cons: No lift to the rooms (quite understandable being a truly historical building)

Pros: Great grounds
Cons: Very tired looking and room smelt musty
Pros: This hotel does the New Year in style and has a lovely ambiance. Guests are made to feel welcome from the moment of arrival.
Cons: Directions to the hotel from Planguenal could be clearer
Pros: A lovely ambiance, very French in style and welcome, and good cuisine.
Cons: Homing in directions not very good from Plangouenal.
Pros: A beautiful setting near to lovely beaches.
Cons: The family suites we stayed in were a little shabby considering the price. We had booked an ajoining room but were given two separate rooms which we didn't want. The hotel staff were nice but not particularly accommodating.
Pros: Outside the hotel looks nice
Cons: The room we had was damp ! It was dirty, the chairs had rips in them, the blankets were very old,the sheets were very thin,a tile had fallen off the bathroom wall, paint had come off the tap in the bedroom. Outside the swimming pool had green algae hanging from the roof inside and one of the glass doors was just propped up against the door frame at the side of the pool.
Pros: oue "romantic" room was not really romantic but was "tetro" (italian) and clening wasn't good peccato....
Pros: Very quiet chateau in the country. The room was large and comfortable.
Cons: Very difficult to find the hotel. The GPS coordinates provided are not quite accurate. Advice is to travel to the hotel in daylight.
Pros: Very relaxed atmosphere in a photogenic setting of a 14th century Chateau! Room was large with tapestry on wall above very comfortable ( but low) bed. Bathroom very quaint but everything worked! We only had dinner once during our stay, as we wanted to sample other establishments in the area. Restaurant in the luxury class, with immaculate service, good food and extensive if rather expensive wine list. The half bottles are hidden at the back of the wine list!! (You can also order house wine by the glass as well.) Swimming pool was very good, did not sample any of the other hotel facilities. WiFi ( weak signal) worked only in public areas. Breakfasts were buffet style with very good selection for the money.
Cons: Big concern, dont rely on the driving instructions to the hotel, provided by Booking.com. You will end up in a field 4-5 kms away near Port Morvan. The locals have never heard of Domaine du Val, as it is a generic term and signpost in the area for other hotels and accomodation! We spent about 90 minutes cruising around Port Morvan & eventually had to phone the hotel in desperation. The hotel was aghast at the directions provided by Booking.com. From 2009, we are not the first to experience this. The correct sat nav co-ordinates are [ n 48.54719 x w 2.60111 ] The hotel is signposted correctly from Plangenoual - large sign near the Zephr bar as Chateau du Val 3 kms away towards coast, then low brown signs as Chateaux du Val - not Domaine !
Pros: Abeautiful place with old charm and drama. Walks form hotel were good. Decor was querky and unique. Really comfortable beds and very clean. the family room was perfect with 2 young children.
Cons: The swimming pool needed to be warmer and the tennis court needs looking after.
Pros: Very friendly welcome, beautiful chateau
Cons: A little shabby
Pros: It was very peaceful and the location was what I was looking for
Cons: The standard of cleanliness was poor, the swimming pool was cold, and needed a clean. The second swimming pool was full of decaying frogs and mice. Definately not good value for the price I paid
Pros: Fantastic location, great room - fabby spa bath, amazing food and attentive service - altogether first class!!
Cons: loved everything!!
Pros: The hotel was full of character with wonderful grounds. The family room was ideal (two rooms split with a shared bathroom). They provided a cot for our baby and were very accomodating, even providing us a side room for dining with the baby.
