Pros: The breakfast was amazing...all local and homemade food. Size of the bedroom and simple decoration.
Pros: Spacious room and spotlessly clean with modern facilities. A good breakfast and the location was ideal as an overnight stop on our journey through France
Pros: Excellent jams!
Cons: Not easily improvable!
Pros: The owner was great, he welcomed warmly and showed our room so proudly of his great bnb. The breakfast was so good... They have locally sourced apple juice, croissants, jams... Wow. Room and bathroom were pristine clean and well equipped. Bed was firm and comfy. I will love to get back.
Cons: The garden was not equipped to be usable. I hoped it was closer to the lake. They never asked us for any proof of id or book.
Pros: Welcoming host, recently built property with well thought out layout, quality construction and fittings, nice room size, good breakfast selection, use of kitchen facilities if needed for self catering. Plenty of parking
Cons: Not a thing
Pros: Very friendly host. Almost new facilities- very comfortable room and bathroom. Great location to explore the Lake. Great breakfast.
Pros: The owner/builder was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We liked our stay immensely.. The pizzeria 2 mins by car was great, as was the local nuseum recording the creation of lac du der.
Pros: Very friendly and welcoming owner. They have created a new, very stylish and comfortable chambre d’hôtes. Very close to the lake. Nice breakfast and attentive hosts. A very good base for visiting the region.
Cons: There are limited dining opportunities close by but a few options in a village about 5 minutes drive.
Pros: Charming hosts and excellent modern accommodation. Fortunately the weather had improved for our second stay here and we were able to explore the garden and the nearby lake. Compliments to Madam for her delicious home made confiture !
Cons: Liked everything!
Pros: clean, spacious, friendly hosts, great location
The former railway cottage "38" is situated in the softly rolling landscape of the Champagne region. The cottage is charmingly furnished and equipped with all comforts. The cottage also has a separate orchard. From the end of October until March you can observe the wintering cranes from the cottage. The area around the cottage is ideal for hiking and cycling lovers. In the summer you can swim and practice all other kinds of water sports in the Lac du Der reservoir which provides the Seine in Paris with water in dry periods. This lovely and enormous nature area is located only 10 minutes from the cottage. The Nigloland attraction park is located 50 km away. A visit to Paris (2 hours), Troyes and Verdun (1 hour) is certainly worth the effort. In short, this former railway cottage is highly recommended. Pros: Beautiful setting, clean and comfortable, welcoming and friendly staff.
Pros: Fabulous place. Magical.
Cons: Arrangements to get into the property
Pros: This place is amazing Super clean Friendly staff Secure parking
Pros: The exterior is the stables for Napoleon's cavalry, but inside the design is very modern and quite out of keeping with the lovely architecture. Having said that, it is comfortable with good bathrooms and a lovely, light breakfast room, even if the wallpaper is a bit dazzling for early morning. The floor creaks and the curtains do not shut, but the hosts have made an effort to create a modern interior in an old house. We used it as a stop off the motorway, but in fact it is one hour from both the N5 and N4 (Troyes and Reims) in the midst of flat champagne country, not really convenient for a trip from Alps to Calais, but the town does boast one of the oldest, most important churches in the region.
Cons: The decor, the breakfast room wallpaper, the creaking floorboards.
Pros: Loved the Breakfast and horses nearby
Cons: A basic Facility and the town is dreary in April
Pros: Location. Spacious rooms. Comfortabele bathrooms with soap, shampoo, hairdrier provided. Extra : the horses, of you are a horse lover
Cons: Reception : gate was closed. Tourist office on site helped us get in. Not clear how things work if one arrives late. We were early, 5.00 pm.
Pros: Beds were very comfy. Jackdaws outside of window rather noisy. Lovely location, pretty very clean town.
Cons: Couldn't fault anything.
Pros: Nice building, scerene and beautiful location. Friendly persononel.
Cons: We had the small room a little bit dark and a small window. When leaving the woman Director/Administrator was to buisiness-office-like. We had a good time 2 days but no interest about that. Just pay and leave. Not very 'Frenchly' we were used before at previous bookings.
Pros: Our hostess was friendly and helpful. The room was large and tastefully decorated. Everything was spotless. Breakfast was very good. Great bike storage.
Cons: The Google maps geocoding is incorrect, so I spent some time trying to enter the local school building until I realised my error! More obvious roadside sgnage would help.
Pros: Standard of service
Pros: Most pleasant & helpful staff there. Real genuine folk.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. Basic facilities is what I signed up for and I got better.
Pros: Your room was beautiful very friendly people I will come again hundred percent
Pros: We made the effort to speak French, even if poorly, and found our hosts very amiable, we were made welcome Prices of bar drinks and eating in were much less than other bars and restaurants nearby Beds were comfortable and warmed up quickly Food was excellent and typically French, you were all expected to eat the same Water was hot
Cons: Rooms were cool, but it was -2C outside! We were given plenty of bed covers and an electric heater to boost the ever hot radiator Neighbours dog woke me briefly at night French square pillows and futon.
Pros: Remarkably cheap for the standard of service. The area around Montier-en-Der seems to be off the usual tourist route, but the countryside is magnificent: huge open spaces with rolling meadows, and of course the lake, which has a really pleasant leisure area 10km from the hotel where you can swim, wander around, eat and drink (just follow the very straight D12/D13 that goes north).
Cons: Physically the hotel seems to need some renovation, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Pros: Friendly locals and the feeling that you were part of the French culture. I felt it was very fair value for basic accommodation & drinks.
Pros: Central to the town and the good in the hotel was filling and very tasty.

Pros: Michael the owner really friendly person
Pros: We just stayed over for the night, the kids loved to jump into the pool after a long journey. The owner was super nice and tried to speak as much English as possible, thanks to smart phones communication was possible. The big garten and patio is lovely. The owners were super helpful with jump starting our car in the morning, cause our battery had died. This was literally above and beyond what’s expected.
Cons: The toilet was in a different part of the house, which was a little inconvenient with little kids. The accomodation was a bit more like something I would expect from Air B‘nB not from Booking.com.
