I like the location of the hotel ,it's far from the city And if you want to relax and meditate, its perfect.and also very sexy and romantic for couples . The staff are very helpful and friendly. Well, This was my second time at this hotel and I wanted to be very relaxing for me.but I was a little disappointed. I didn't ask for the villa ,but they decided to give me one, the location of there villa is very isolated and far from all the facilities, such as pool, spa, restaurants and the bar,
The breathtaking views. Wow!!!! It is simply amazing The pool was not heated, the jacuzzi is not nice at all a simple home jacuzzi
Beautiful ... but everything was insanely expensive. If you are looking for the real Costa Rica then dont stay here. It was beautiful but very Americanized. You didnt feel like you were in Costa RIca until you left the compound. If you want luxury then stay here. Good place to come back to after day excursions. I felt very very safe here. The Los Suenos Marina was awesome. The Hook Up Bar is a great place to go for drinks at sunset! Go to the Hotel Villa Calletas a few kms away for sunsets. The place was amazing.
I've been to Jaco many times and have stayed in all types of hotels, from surf camps to the marriott....marriott rules....great pool and poolside food & drinks...............restaurants are weak & expensive....even breakfast buffet sucked @$24USD WHEW!!!......room service food and service overall was great.............not really for young travelers ...boring.........lots of kids too, warm spots in the pool...........spa was great, massage, facial. etc, average hotel fittness center, tennis too.... x-tra charge for all. & everything...ALTHOUGH GREAT SERVICE....watch your tabs...hotel adds service + some sort of additional intentional overcharge., keep all your hotel charges......beach at the hotel is poor...better off going to hermosa some 10 miles south, black sand and deserted...if your watching your $ this is not for you....if you plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and going on hotel sponsored tours...... rush to book a room here
Me and a friend book a trip to the Marriott for August 8-13 to attend a wedding. The view and pool area are VERY well kept and beautiful. The staff is are so very nice. I've traveled a lot of different places and have never felt so welcomed. Every single person that works there makes a point to say hello and ask about your day. The food is a little expensive and tastes more like an all-inclusive resort. We did have our breakfast included, which ended up being a real good thing, considering the buffet is about $26 a person. Then we usually ended up splitting a couple things for dinner. We had our best meal when we went into the town, Jaco. It did get dark rather early, but the pool still stayed open until 10:30. The wedding we attended was on the beach at the Marriot Beach Club. The location was very nice. But considering the time of year, it was SO hot. Relaxing by the pool was fine because of the breeze and of course hopping in the water. But if you don't have that and add dancing, it's a little uncomfortable. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, possibly adding the all-inclusive option.
Everything was great, the hotel is in a wonderful relaxing environment, it was the best place we've been to so far. We will be going back.
From the moment we arrived at Los Suenos we were greeted by an exceptional staff, a cool glass of delicious tropical fruit juice, and a beautiful room. We had the most magnificent view of the mountains and the Pacific. The hotel is appointed with gorgeous spanish architecture and three spectacular pools and waterfalls. We ate at several of the onsite restaurants and had delicious sea bass and drinks for a very reasonable price. The spa service is excellent with a relaxing message with a very professional staff of ladies. The spa is clean, relaxing and exceeded our expectations. We arranged two tours with the tour group and enjoyed the zip line and Manuel Antonio National Park with our fabulous guide Mario who made the trip more than enjoyable. The whole experience is top notch, gorgeous views, excellent service and now we have memories to last a life time. You will not be dissapointed!!!!
If you want comfort and clean this is the place to stay,Staff was always helpful and friendly anything you needed and they could do they would.I give 5 stars in my book nothing better.
I was walking to my room and fell down into some bushes. Not 10 seconds passed before there were 3 people there to help me up. (and each of them knew my name) At breakfast it was good morning senor S****** and went on all day. My family played hide and seek in the very large pool. The room was lovely, the golf good, fishing was great and there were some interesting restaurants nearby. We were close enough for a day trip to Manuel Antonio National Park which was exciting. My wife, a professor sent her boss (a Dean) there and she still has her job.
This hotel was a really wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants had great food. The pool and grounds were outstanding. They have a full gym and spa. If you want to relax stay here.
The property is nice, and the pool is incredible, but the pool is the only reason to go there. I paid over $1,700 for 4 nights. Our view was of the parking lot. Buses woke us up throughout the night. It's a 'Beach Club' but the beach isn't usable, it's made up of debris filled brown sand and dirty water. The marina is neat, but it's a long walk from the hotel. Food was average and the staff was friendly. We saw incredible wildlife in other parts of Costa Rica, but only iguanas, and a racoon in our hallway here.\n\nIf you have lots of money, and you want to sit by the pool, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you can see a lot more of Costa Rica for a lot less money elsewhere.
LOVED OUR ROOM EVEN THO IT FACED THE GROUNDS. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. NOT AS EASY ACCESS FOR TOURS AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. POOL AREA IS BEAUTIFUL. BEACH IS NOT AS NICE AS WE HAVE SEEN IN CARRIBEAN. ARENAL VOLCANO WAS WORTH THE TRIP. DINNER AT VILLA CALLETAS WAS WELL WORTH IT FOR THE SUNSET VIEW ALONE. WILL PLAN TO STAY AGAIN.
Just because you are spending $*+ per night does not mean your belongings are safe!!!!!After 10 days of hectic travel in Costa Rica we decided we needed a little bit of luxury. Unfortunately we felt a false sense of security upon arriving at the hotel and having to pass through 3 gaurd stations just to get to the front door. We stayed four nights and really enjoyed the resort overall. But as soon as we checked out and began driving away my daughter discovered that the case containing her Nintendo DS and 6 games was missing from her backpack! She had kept her backpack in a corner of the room untouched from the time we arrived until we left. The in-room safe is very small and we had secured many other items there and didn't think we needed to worry about our childrens toys. I reported it to the hotel and after 2 weeks and several emails their investigation is 'inconclusive' and all they are willing to do is credit $*. With that being said, The hotel is beautiful and the pool is amazing! The room was very clean and fully met our expectations. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, so many choices and all delicious! We ate lunch at the pool bar every day and would say the food was average and overpriced...very typical of hotels. If you choose to stay at the Marriott just BEWARE, it is apparently no safer than any other place in Costa Rica.
When we booked our trip to Costa Rica we were pretty much shooting in the dark for what would work. We ended up choosing this hotel because of the location and the fact that it was a larger style hotel. The staff greeted us with fresh juice and a cool towel, even though it was a bit of an overcast day. Indeed, just as the other reviewers said, they even knew our name. The majority of the staff spoke excellent English so we had no problem with anything. Our hotel room had a great view of the bay and the hotel grounds, and our balcony was just right for a couple of people to sit outside and smoke a cigar while overlooking the water. The pool was massive and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast buffet was steep, but if you have a way to drive around, then you will have no problem finding cheap great food anywhere. Overall I must say I felt safe here, certainly no worries with leaving the car in the parking lot overnight. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It's very resort-y. Lots of families and large groups of people. It felt hectic and not very relaxing to me. The room seemed to have paper-thin walls; my neighbors returned to their room (very drunk) at 2am and I heard every word of their conversation. The beach is gorgeous and the water is calmer here than in other places. The hotel is within walking distance to many things.
The service is good. There is a little club on the beach to have a good time at. Rooms were clean. Had 2 queen beds. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Jaco.
The hotel was well equipped with A/C, hot water showers and a fine swimming pool. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and daily maid service. Cable news service was offered in English which turned out to not be the case in Tambor at the Barcelo. [Jaco is more oriented to the US and Europeans, unlike Tambor which is a hot spot for Mexicans, Europeans, and SA.We never heard spoken English in Tambor. It also seems very isolated] Back to the BW in Jaco: The restaurant had a beautiful Sunday brunch, and each night a different special was offered. The daily breakfast was excellent. The CHEF really knows how to cook fish. The vegetables were perfectly done. The beach is clean and a lifeguard is on all day. If you needed a cab or a one day tour w/ Grayline, the concierge was very helpful setting everything up. I would recommend this hotel very highly by Costa Rica standards. I would recommend to the management that they seriously consider replacing the mattresses and pillows as they were hard and not very comfortable. It is not the Taj Mahal, but then we were in Costa Rica, a lovely country with friendly, honest people.
The staff accomodated another person in our room for no extra charge. The room was clean and they also had some television channels that were in English. Exchanging money at the hotel was cheaper than at the airports or anywhere else. We were glad we stayed at the Best Western on the beach in Jaco. Everyone in the hotel and around the area spoke very good English.
the service was great, very friendly people and good food
On checkin, we were informed our reservation was cancelled by telephone! They had his name, but no e-mails,etc. This was reserved through travel website and pre-paid. Manager got us adjoining inferior rooms. Will always refuse hotel services and question travel website as a booking service if their clients can be treated as such. Manager gave me a written letter which can be forwarded. Had to obtain a in room safe key for a additional $3.00. This appeared to be a common key? We felt that it would be dangerous to leave valuables as sliding outside door wouldn't latch! Boo, Bah, Humbug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This hotel has a great ambience. The staff is really friendly and helpful, there's activities all day long for all ages, the food in the restaurant is great (100% costa rican food) plus it's always awesome to stay at a hotel with beach front. Impossible to not have a good time.
Wonderful all inclusive hotel , clean, friendly staff, great breakfasts, clean pool, love the ocean and beach out the back door, will be back!
I bought this 6 months ago so I had a good promotion
I recommend this hotel in Costa Rica is awesome service
We stayed there 4 nights. Very good location, right on the beach, nice clean rooms, quiet and safe. Very good food (breakfeasts) .Very good place for couples or families. Refrigirator would be a plus...
