The rooms could use more bath towels. While it was purported to be a smoke free hotel room, there was the smell of cigarette smoke in the casino areas that was off-putting.
Nothing at all My room was dirty and had bed bugs ! plus I had a very unpleasant time it was boring nothing to do unless you go there to gamble or play gulf .Not suitable for a family with small children you have to be escorted everywhere the restaurants are located in the casino and you can't enter unless someone escorts you to and from,so that becomes very annoying
The restaurants are fabulous ... combined, you can find a simple grilled cheese to a uniquely prepared top choice veal porterhouse and a lot of choices in-between. Excellent service from all the staff and plenty around to help you with anything you want. The casino is well maintained. Can't come up with anything I didn't like.
We loved the facilities and restaurants. Casino allows smoking but rest of the hotel is smoke free. The hidden resort fees at check out. Close to $100 extra
Convenient fairly priced Starbucks is on the other side of hotel. Need security escort for children to go eat or Starbucks being casino is in the middle and also the restaurant are there as well. I just went to the outside to eat during my stay.
When we checked in we were given a choice, wait for a room a few hours or accept one on a lower floor. As my 4 year old couldn't wait to get started we took the room. The room had a putrid smell, I thought like old gym socks, we later learned actually sewer / cesspool smell. Room was a little sticky as well. After coming back to room from water park, rm still smelled, toilet started to act up. At 10;30 PM we finally complained, took over an hour and 2 calls to get maintenance in. He fixed it , but broke again after 2 uses. Lunchtime we came back to rm to find the toilet in the bath tub and workers in & out of room. Although all staff apologized and were nice, they gave us late checkout & a coupon for Starbucs, they did not make us feel better or give us a satisfactory resolution. I am sure this does not happen to all, but it did to us and our experience to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos was not a good one.
The lines went quick and water rides rocked! The beds are too soft.
The room was nice Worst service we ever experienced. Terrible terrible exoerience!!!!
My husband and son had good things to say about the golf course. Outdoor pool was fine. Rude front desk staff person "greeted" us upon our arrival for 4:00 check in, but our room was not ready until 6:00 pm. No explanation or additional accommodation was offered. Room was worn, but adequate. Toilet didn't work well, 3 towels for a 4 person room and no extra toilet paper. We had to search for housekeeping, who didn't clean our room on our second day. We were happy to check out the following day. We won't be returning. Bottom line, if you get this room very cheap, be prepared to get what you paid for. Don't overpay, it's not worth it.
The water park. Arrived at 12 for early check in. Did not receive my room till 430 with no care or regard. Totally under staffed and the worker told me so. How that's my problem I'm not sure. I paid $500 dollars for a room for 12 hours or less comes with nothing included total robbery. I get back to the room at 2am with my wife wanna use the jacuzzi tub surprise doesn't work GREAT ending to a horrible day. I tell the staff in the morning basically not a care in the world not even a sorry. I wasn't looking for anything back that's not my style. Total disaster last question is check out is 11am why do they need 5 hours to clean a room and I couldn't get late check out. Don't go spend your money somewhere else I bust my butt for mine
Beautiful location in the Poconos Historic, rustic feel Green initiatives Comfortable bed Golf course Room wasn't well cleaned(Laurel Lodge) Service in the bar wasn't attentive Front desk at spa had no interest in giving us a tour or explaining services Need larger/better staffed counter selling personal items (didn't have a toothbrush) Wedding was going on during our stay and we were very clearly not a priority of the hotel
The resort was clean and offered many enjoyable activities. The location is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of quiet places inside and out where one can sit for a few moments to recharge. The surrounding area includes a lot of shopping options, including a Walmart for any forgotten items. The room left a lot to be desired. The AC system was so loud you couldn't hear the TV when running and it jolts you awake. The bed was positioned under a slanted ceiling and I bumped my head getting up. Water pressure was so low that it was barely able to keep the shower on. We arrived at 4:30 and didn't get a room until 6:00. The breakfast buffet was a little pricey at $18 per person, but there is a Perkins nearby. There was no coffee maker in the room, although the complimentary coffee in the lobby was ready by 5:00 a.m. Worst of all, I had to drive a mile for ice cream :)
100 year old hotel that has been very carefully preserved in the old fashion furnishings, yet everything was clean and well appointed. Stayed for a Friday night, wanted something different than the usual cinder block hotel overnight stay - this is the place. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to assist, even the night facilities manager was kind enough to open the indoor pool and walk us down the into the pool and recreation area later at night just so we could see it. There were kids in the arcade and pool table area having fun and the hotel in-house movie theatre was showing a movie about 11pm. Lots going on! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in at a hotel, and the room despite being over 100 years old was up to date, clean and very pleasant. The morning was great with the beautiful mountain views. This is a hard property to maintain because of the age of the hotel and they have worked really hard to keep in up and it shows! We will definitely stay again, and the next time try the spa, it looked wonderful. There wasn't any thing that was negative, except that we were coming in after dark and the hotel signage on the roads and lighting to get to the property could be a little better for those not familiar with the country roads.
I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we stay it will be an extended stay. Great place for the price..
Great accommodates for a great price. I was unable to swim though that was due to families with small children staying that weekend so I let them enjoy. Maybe next time :)
Staff was very friendly/helpful. The room was very clean w/ fridge and microwave & had everything I needed. I've been in 5 star hotels that don't have little things like shower caps available. Breakfast was good. Forgot something there and they immediately located it and held it for me. All in all great standard more than I expected!
Nice location. Staff nice and accomidating Halls were dirty, back staircase smelled moldy, breakfast was very sparce. They refilled breakfast very slowly. Very dated rooms, needed some uodating.

the pool was clean
Convenient location. Back entrance broken-so you don't need a key to get in, not too safe. Nothing fancy, hallways smell like smoke, but ok for a 2 star hotel.
nothing it was dirty and smelled

Hotel was conveniently located for event that we were participating in, rooms were clean. Continental breakfast was satisfactory.Staff was polite. Front of Hotel was under renovation. Vehicles were blocking entrance.
All around good time

They are by many food areas , gas station , private indoor pool , everyone was really nice I would definitely stay her again It was smelly , it's days no smoking but my room had 4 burn holes in the quilt
Just a place to sleep The staff walk in while me and my wife where in bed they said the room was so pose to be vacant which we rented it than our torlet did not work told them 3 times about it never got fixed had to use the hallway bathroom.....some if the staff was nit nice
Villas are separate little units that aren't connected so no worries of being kept up by loud neighbors. Themed rooms are a nice change from the usual bed and bath hotels that are everywhere. Mold for days in the shower and jacuzzi. Bring your own cleaning supplies if you want a little peace of mind for your own personal hygiene. Each restock of towels seems to be riddled with mystery stains of all colors. Highly recommend checking towels before grabbing one to wrap or dry yourself with.
The quite peaceful relaxing mood
The room was nice. It was secluded and had a romantic vibe to it. The staff tried to make up for the room not being ready. We arrived at 3:30, check in was at 3:30 but we did not receive a room until 7:30pm. We continued to get the run around for why our room was not ready timely.
The location Do not go by the website pictures. The room's interior was old and in desperate need of new carpeting, wallpaper, furniture. The exterior of the buildings were just plain unattractive. Felt like a concrete roadside motel that wasn't updated since 1975 that charges way too much. Definitely not "Romantic"....
It was 1 minute close to horseback riding; which was great! The breakfast food was good. The rooms were clean. There was plenty of activity to do free in the resort. There's a $120 hold on top of an $83 fee. We was informed about a $75 fee not $83 which was ok. The $120 hold would have been ok had we been informed! Also the resort can be all inclusive as far as the meals but we weren't given the option; which sucked.
Beautiful setting. The king bed was 2 twin mattress pushed together with a 2 inch height difference, making rolling in bed difficult. The place is highly overpriced for the overall stay. Very disappointed and will never return.
Organized, clean, beautiful, many activities. All restaurants were not open during stay. Host at Windsor restaurant was a bit rude when setting us and toward me when I asked him a question.
Skytop Lodge is historic and filled with class. The grounds are beautiful, there are a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, the staff is courteous, and the overall operations of the establishment are smoothly run. The main lodge has a lot of history so don't expect a modern building with contemporary decor. That said, we found our standard room elegantly decorated, comfortable, very clean, and equipped with a spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. We visited during the week at a relatively less crowded time I presume, and we really enjoyed having fewer guests around. One front desk staff member seemed newer and not very knowledgeable with a few of our questions, but he tried to help and was courteous nonetheless. That's a minor point. Also, the front desk made a significant billing error upon my checkout...but quickly corrected it after I noticed and pointed it out. I didn't have a perfect experience with the staff, but they were friendly and willing to help which were overall positive points and outweighed the shortcomings for me.
Tons to do and a beautiful setting. The lake could not be more beautiful and the activities will keep you busy from morning till night. The decor is dated and the food is horrible.
I felt comfortable, safe. I enjoyed the pool and appreciated the coupon for breakfast at the restaurant. It is an old hotel but I can deal with old as long as it is clean which it was. It appears to be an older hotel and it shows its age. The hallways had an odd smell. The 'continental breakfast' left a lot to be desired. The lay out of hallways and rooms was a bit convoluted.
Good location, Room is big, Staff are friendly. Need more cleaning
Price, service, amenities, heated indoor pool Breakfast left much to be desired. The suite needs a touch-up. The bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly, and the shower was very weak in performance.
That there is an excellent on site restaurant with good food. The continental breakfast was somewhat lacking - could have used some yogurt and fruit, but bkfst we paid for was delish, as were other meals. Hotel employees were great! There was an unfortunate incident where a woman (not a guest I am sure) was being arrested or subdued by police outside restaurant window - suggesting ndesirable person got onto premises. Towel holding door open - key only access suggested.
EVERYTHING OUTDATED FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY PAID FOR THE ROOM
Great staff, clean, giant room. Friendly and willing to please staff. It's a regular for me!
Location. Cigarettes smell in the hallway all the time.
It was close enough to our destination The rooms need an update
Nothing It needs a complete redo! Old & tired!
Great location. Hotel very clean The waiter who was serving breakfast wasn't too pleasant. Cranky old man.
near shopping and food
Our room was dirty, towels had left over hair on them. Tried to explain to front desk was told we had to speak to manager, whom was not there!
Nothing to do I didn't like anything horrible
Location might be convinient for the ski resort across the lake. Much older than what pictures show. Not very well maintained at all. beat up furnitures and no refrigerator in the room.
Location. Really old and out dated n didn't clean the rooms before our stay
The room was obviously updated recently and everything was very clean. The staff was very polite and even gave us suggestions of where to eat. The beds weren't the best. They were comfortable enough but weren't my favorite. The showers water pressure was okay but the water did at least get hot. Also, there was a draft coming under the front door and we had to stick a blanket in front of it.
Staff was great The mattresses weren't 100% but good for the price.
It was so secluded, very romantic and well worth the stay! The staff was so friendly and there was even a cr to greet you at the lobby. So cute, will come back!!
The resort was beautiful. The pillows were uncomfortable for my taste. It looked like it should be right out of Dirty Dancing. Beautiful and the room was quite large.
We got a room for my boyfriend and I for only $100 a night which was nice. It was clean, private, and felt safe. The staff was great with the exception of one employee. She was a woman in her mid to late 20's and was not very professional. While the other employees were very welcoming she used inappropriate language (F word) and said she couldn't deal with people 'hovering over her shoulder' because the one employee was greeting us from behind her. She didn't seem like she could handle checking one person into a room with two other employees around her. She seemed as if she belongs at a Burger King and not a hotel lobby. The room was great, except for some reason there was a very strong smell that smelled like a hamster cage. Not pleasant. But the room seemed clean, perhaps it was the paint?
The kids loved the waterpark. We got a great rate using the kayak app. I have also seen groupons for this resort that have great deals (considering normal rate). I can't wait to visit again using one of the discounted options. Water was warm, air felt cold at first (but I'm always freezing) but I warmed up quickly. I also think it's worth mentioning how appreciative I am that the resort allows kids to use their own coast gaurd approved flotation devices. A lot of water parks have started banning them saying people are not attentive to their children because they think the devices are a substitute for supervising your children. Although I'm sure that's true. I'm willing to bet the parents in that category don't supervise their children either way. Isn't it better to at least know these kids have a safety net?!?! I have two small children one of whom is a very high energy 5 year old. These places are often crowded and it's easy to lose sight of your child for even just a moment. It was very comforting knowing my babies had supervision and a safety net just in case.. Please keep allowing parents to use them. We stayed to play for a few hours on the day of checkout and the shower area in the waterpark is an open area. I just wish they had private shower facility's in the waterpark. The amazing shampoo and conditioner the resort provided was awesome though ;)
We were in a non-smoking room, but when we walked into the hallway, it wreaked of smoke!
Hotel staff was friendly, helpful. Pets accepted Staff at bar keep calling me "honey", "dear"
Staff was extremely friendly and upgraded our room upon arrival. Perfect for a weekend getaway. 15 minutes from casino and Camelback. Great drinks at their bar and great food. There is a restaurant across from the hotel that has amazing food. If you just want to get away and not have to worry about planning and traveling all over this is the place. We will definitely be back. Its a great little secret spot. No late check out option.
The room and bathroom were clean. Pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Decent offerings for breakfast.
Good Price Nice Staff-tried to be helpful Warm Pool Breakfast was acceptable Room seemed pretty clean Nice big flat TV, but limited remote function WiFi was not good Beds were mushy and sheets didn't stay on.
