Everything was AMAZING! The owner and her puppy were great and really welcoming! She helped us find our next place to book in our next town and even negotiated a taxi driver to drive us! She really went above and beyond!! The room was clean and the shower worked well which if you've been travelling for weeks in Central America you will appreciate! The breakfast was amazing fresh fruit, yogurt and lemonade from fruit grown in the back yard. The AC unit was also lovely! Great location - close to the bars and restaurants. We also booked a tour through the gentleman that worked there to volcano board. It was his start up company and he had a great team of guys and it supported local schools! VERY IMPRESSED!! Would absolutely stay here again!
Hotel Real is a beautiful little hotel located close to the main square in Leon. There is a beautiful quart yard with some tables and lots of greenery. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with Jorge, who even helped us arrange a shuttle from the airport at 1:30 in the morning and who helped me re-arrang my reservation when I had booked the wrong dates! The hotel had good wifi and plenty of seating in the common areas. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. our room included a breakfast in the morning the was made individually as soon as you asked the cook for it, not set up as a buffet. We really liked that because it was so fresh. We were only there for a short time but loved our stay at Hotel Real. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Leon.
I like the colonial style of the house and the location of this place. The were dicks about changing one of the rooms to a 2 bed rooms so i had to rent an addional room to accomodate my mom. They have free breakfast in the morning which was decent. The room shower need to be updated and the need to be sound proof as i could hear my mom chatting with my aunt in the next room. There was a dripping from the AC that couldn't sleep but they changed me to another room.
Mattress was comfortable, staff was really nice, probably don't speak much English. Neighborhood is safe, I felt kind of stupid asking them but it was my 1st day in Nicaragua. I paid 17 a night without an ac. I think they wanted 8 or 9 more for ac which I thought was kind of high but I guess others charge similar. I never saw any other guest while I was there. It's maybe 10-15 minute walk to center but just about 4 blocks to a couple of the museums and a really nice grocery store and some good restaurants. It was clean and tidy.
