Good service and big room Smoking smell for a non-smoking room. Very disturbing
The rooms were very big and the bathroom were very nice. The parking was save and oposite the hotel was a petrol station. The service was good, too. It was a bit strange that fthe toilett and the bathroom were in two room. Some hairs of the guest before in the bathroom and some stains of glases on the badside table.
Staff at reception very helpfull, rooms comfortable, The menu in the dining room could have been a bit more interesting, not a lot to choose from. The bar should have some one there all the time, really not very good. The person that did serve was very unfriendly, not a good person to be dealing with the public,
breakfast buffet + free wifi diner
It's interior is rather old and in need of refurbishment. During breakfast the staff was already removing the breakfast and we had to ask several times to bring us some coffee and bread.
The room was excellent: large enough and extremely clean. The safe had a problem and could not be used.
Room stank of smoke
good location close to motorway
restaurant prices far too high. 13.90 eur for a curry consisting of 4 small pieces of chicken, a tablespoon of curry sauce and a lump of rice
Lcation excellent for centre and restaurants. Secure car parking. Family room large if a little tired, but then it is an old city centre building and not a 5*.
The restaurant next door was excellent,I believe it was owned by the hotel which was unbelieveable as the Hotel was so poor. The Hotel was badly in need of a coat of paint,in fact a complete reform would be in order.
Very efficient & helpful English speaking reception lady. Comfortable bed. Clean. Quiet. Good location for train station and town centre. We also liked the old fashioned nature of the place, but that suited us old fashioned people! We did not try the breakfast because we left early in the morning. Would definitely consider if in Valence again. Please note the author info is not quite correct, it should say booked one double and one single room. We didn't find anything, but could envisage it would not suit the seeker of the "boutique luxury/4or 5 star" style of hotel.
Safe parking place. Needs some updating.
I has late for check in and reception waited for me for 2 hours and was so friendly when I arrived. She even helped me to park my car outside, taken care of me in a wondeful way. I have never received this treatment before.
It was in a central position. It has a useful carpark nearby. The area was quiet. The bathroom was quite big and the water pleasantly hot The carpet was a bit old and blinds could not be opened to get fresh air.on the wall the room looked a bit old.
a good clean hotel no
very friendly and helpfull staff
Hotel staff are kind and service-oriented. They tried to help me with a problem I had with the rental car, even if they were not obliged to. Reception is unattended (and door closed) when you arrive late. It would be good that this is indicated in your reservation confirmation, so that guests know is better to call the hotel when you expect late check-in.
This hotel is in the old part of Valence and it was lovely being able to wander the streets. The hotel was good and had a very, very popular restaurant attached to it with great food and staff.
clean sheets and clean bathroom the ''breakfastroom''.
Clean, basic faciliries, economical travelling through France on way to/from holidaying in France.. No restaurants in near vicinity - having driven hundreds of miles already, still necessary to drive to restaurant for evening meal!
The hotel was conveniently situated for us, however our experience was negative for the reasons I have mentioned in the next section. Arrived at 21:00hrs and was unable to open gate, wrong pin code supplied. Unable to check in, automatic check in machine was not working. Someone finally got in touch with a member of staff who came back to the hotel and checked us and a whole bunch of other people in. Finally got into our room 1.5hrs after arriving at hotel. All this was after a 10hr drive so we were anxious to get into our room to rest.
Breakfast werw poor
The hotel was exactly what I expected, small, efficient, clean and tidy. All necessary facilities were sufficient for a short stay.
What you pay is what you get: a small, not very comfortable room with tiny bathroom facilities. However, if you are just traveling through, it is good enough.
Thanks for Late Check-in service.
Receptionist extremly nice. Able to speak 6 languages, very helpful.
Its easy to find, and near the highway rooms smell tobaco
Late in opening in morning due to non arrival of key person. Delayed departure. Would it be better to pay on arrival, then departure can be at any time
The location near the motorway and the restaurant and staff Size of the room and bathroom were a little small The special wine offer on a board was the same price as in the menu card
We appreciate dogs allowed
nice restaurant and good brakfast. free parking inside the hotel. position very closed to the motorway. nice view from the room.
Reception happy to change the room at our request. Excellent pool and nice gardens for relaxing with also shade.Convenient location for travelling on autotoute.Staff and service good.Liked the private terrace outside the room. First room offered was opening right onto the restaurant so no privacy at all. There were plenty of rooms available so this one should not have been given to us in the first place. Breakfast good, dinner pricy but ok and 1 magret between 2 was not very generous.
Excellent mood lighting in the room and food in the restaurant was 1st Class.
The standard of the bathrooms, they need some refurbishment.
The staff were very freindly and helpfull and the food was good, as the menu was only in French the reception printed it in English for us.Very good None
The location was good, room was good (bit small, but clean). Hallways leave a bit to be desired in "decor". Restaurant ws great. Good access to the Motorways which was what we needed.
Everything, professionaly run by excellent staff
Staff, tv was not working, wc sepparate of bathroom
Good value for very well presented hotel. Great food (if slightly expensive). Some excellent 'homemade' jams at breakfast in the garden (which you wouldn't know is so close to the main road).
The service, the help, the location and the food. The rooms were very clean and comfotable Probably not having tea/coffee facilities in the room
Very nice, well designed hotel, with good professionals working there. The restaurant is awesome. Little bit far from Tain de L'Hermitage and Tournon, the cities that I wanted to visit. On the first night, internet services collapsed.
This was our second stay in 2010. We find the hotel very comfortable, impeccably maintained, and a very good value. The service is both friendly and correct; breakfast is delightful, befitting the Michelin starred kitchen of M Chabron. It is possible to have the full multi course chef's menu, but also to eat very well and much more lightly as well.
the hours of the pool
Room was quite comfortable and hotel situation is perfect for travellers; 2 minutes away from highway. Wifi is free but quite poor.
The room was quite comfortable. An early breakfast was provided for a cycling group; when we asked could breakfast be provided for us we were told no. Given that there were a number of cycling groups (small and large) it would have made good business sense to accommodate all parties. Was disappointed that we were not given an option for breakfast - the satff very not very helpful during our stay.
Location and easy access. Also having a restaurant nearby is a plus.
The cleanliness of the hotel, the free parking and WIFI.
Near the highway. Good restaurant. Nice swimming pool.
the hotel has been remade, staff is helpfull and friendly... it's really few sightposted, cheese at breakfast is old and dried...
the rooms were a decent size and very clean. Also the price was excellent The only complaint i have is that it was pretty far from the train station
Not expensive Some cups and bowls for breakfast were dirty. Some dust in the room.
warm reception and friendly offer of help with luggage.Hotel is clean and all appears to be well organised
Thé Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.. This hotel has a very good value for money There was no stand in the bathroom for towels or soap
We got lost trying to find the place after midnight. The young guy working the desk was just amazing. So alert and so helpful! Great place and value for an overnight stay on a road trip.
Good location, close to center and highway exits. Very simple no-bullshit access to internet and parking. Room had a fridge and a stove, very useful if you plan to stay for a few days. Tight parking and budget-hotel shower, but other than that, no serious issues.
Nice room, secure parking, friendly and very helpful staff. The hotel is clean, modern and has good facilities. Centrally located it was ideal for exploring the town and there are a good selection of restaurants nearby. The room was very hot and the fan provided did little to reduce the temperature. It was difficult to sleep. The room was very nice despite the heat.
Decent room for the price. Just a stop over night on the road so it fit the need. Long way off motorway to this location.
price parking lot is rediculous, too narrow making it very dangerous, lighting issues, parking spaces not well indicated (i.e. poor signage)
The hotel staff was really very friendly and very flexible to help us, I was there with a van to move my son to Valence and using the parking lot eg. was not that easy...
the underground parking was greatly appreciated the kitchenette area had no equipment thus unusable and the sink had a musty smell - not a problem overall.
Breakfast was fine - not much else in the immediate area so recommend to have the hotel breakfast. Parking on site. Close proximity to internet centre and laundromat. Our room, a standard double, was very basic and dated, nothing like the website appears. The kitchenette advertised came with absolutely nothing to make it usable - no kettle, cups/plates, cutlery, cooking pans. Room maintenance was very sloppy - we had to ask for something every day - no toilet paper when we arrived, towels taken but not replaced every day. The reception staff however were very friendly and helpful and speak good English.
The hotel is located very conveniently, the secured garage is a great advantage, the staff was very friendly
I cannot fault anything about this hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and freindly. The food was superb and I would recommend this hotel absolutey. I will be staying at this hotel again without a doubt!
very clean room, great price, excellent breakfast buffet location not the best but not a problem
Unlike most hotels in Europe, the heat was already on when I checked in and, considering that it was about -3 C outside, that was a plus. It is extremely difficult to get to!!! I stopped at two other hotels for directions (having at that point been driving in circles for about 40 minutes). They were both extremely helpful (Campaline and Kyak...not spelled correctly, I am afrain), the latter even giving me a map...after which it still took about 15 min to locate. The receptionist was not very helpful. The lobby and elevator had an unpleasant odor, which the room, luckily, did not share.
the riverside location was pleasant and the buffet breakfast, if rather expensive, was of high quality
good location. good value pool not in use. the control was due next day, so did not get to use it
free parking, free internet far away from centrum of city
Very friendly, efficient and English speaking staff. Excellent, secure free car parking. Good restaurant with clean and tidy public areas.
Quiet clean friendly service lacked facilities. A bit far from town.
Helpful friendly staff, clean pleasant rooms, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended
It was within walking distance of the river and town centre
Convenient location, easy to find, and walking distance into twon and restaurants by the river. Clean, modern and well-equipped rooms, with air-con. Good breakfast. No - everything was fine.
Very comfortable small hotel set in a quiet location within walking distance of both Tournon centre and Tain l'Hermitage. Hotel easily accessible by car from main road network and with secure parking. Would make a good centre for those wishing to explore Rhone valley and its vineyards. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Staff very helpful and friendly: great jam for breakfast Very simple rooms in dull roadside location; practical but not pretty
Reception staff could speak some english.
Very clean Hotel! Very friendly staff! Private parking area. Ein sehr sauberes Hotel! Sehr freundliches Personal! Privatparkplatz. Ganz gutes Frühstück. Only french tv. Poor ac, when it is really warm outside. Some staff speak french, only. Nur französisches Fernsehen. Die Klimaanlage ist etwas schwach für heiße Tage. Einige Mitarbeiter sprechen nur französisch.
The locked and easily accessible car park; the helpfulness of staff; the quietness of the immediate environment. Not too easy to access the hotel from the main road on first arrival - but we shall know next time!
Good location for breaking our journey.
We loved our stay at the hotel. It was clean and had a good atmostphere. It was close to the river. Close to shopping. No.
It was away from the main road but still in the middle of town so handy. There was a car park. There was a car park but it was quite small and tricky to get in and out of at busy times.
Price for family room for 4 persons only 75 EUR! Located in the city center. Too close to railway. A lot of trains pass at night. Do not sleep with windows open.
Great welcome, very clean. Food fantastic. A real find.
Very well situated for our long trip from northern France to southern France. Tournon sur Rhone unexpectedly nice little town by the Rhone. Good budget hotel.
The room was quietly located overlooking the courtyard that doubled as a secure parking area. The room was good-sized and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was modern with an excellent shower. There was reliable free Wi-fi in the room. Restaurants were within easy walking distance. Only minor points, but there was the occasional sound of passing trains, but not loud enough to prevent sleep. Cars starting up in the courtyard may disturb late risers.
We used this hotel on our way further south to France. We stayed in Azalées one night and it was excellent ! Nice and very clean hotel room. Very friendly staff, nice dinner, good breakfast. There maybe could be a little more choice of bread during the breakfast.
Central to all local shops and facilities, and the room was clean. Breakfast was very good also.
Worthwhile clean little place while touring vineyards in Rhone. Good location and they have parking.
Well situated, and on site free parking. Rooms very bright and pleasant. Good value for money
location very basic, was prepared to pay more but no other choices in this area
Central location No parking, bare and stark, very small bathroom in the double room
Very friendly on reception. Layed on breakfast early for us. Bathroom on the very small side!
Well-located, easy to find, quiet (although it's very close to the central railway station), clean. The room is small. The breakfast is a standard (i.e. poor) continental one
The hotel was clean and quiet, and in an excellent location with friendly and efficient staff. My bed was very comfortable and the room well equipped. Room very cramped, Continental breakfasts rather poor
to open a window. No drawers in bedroom.
Very cheerful and helpful staff, very good breakfast, clean premises, centre of town The combined shower/W.C./washbasin unit awkward to use safely as I have arthritis - so step into room too steep, no handle to hold - wet floor after showers. Another hotel we stayed at had the same set-up, as do cabins on ferries. It would be nice to know these things before booking. For one night and a cautious approach, it was ok
Budget hotel. Perfect location beside train station.
Clean, tidy room; friendly and helpful staff Noise from street
Very helpful staff, changed my sister's room very quickly and willingly because of smoke smell and she is asthmatic. All reception staff gave advice as needed and spoke English sufficiently and with confidence. Friendly too. None
The bed was very small and room was not much bigger. Overall, hotel needs a complete makeover--decor especially.
Very friendly and helpful staff; small, but cosy, comfortable room; very convenient location in the town centre, two minutes walk from Valence Ville railway and regional bus stations and five minutes walk from the main local bus interchange. I would have been happy that the room was small, after all I had booked a single room and that was all I wanted, if the the price charged had reflected this. Most French hotels in my experience charge less for a room of this quality or offer a larger, better quality room for the price this hotel charged me.
Simple but very clean and large room with airco ( Optional -comfort room)
A good location in center of city and very nice english speaking staff.
Basic but correct and inexpensive place, very good value for money. Room a little bit small, with few equipment
Near train station. Lift was not working and room was on 4th floor. The hotel staff was kind to carry all luggage up.
The hotel is next to several bars and restos. The parking is underground at the train station round the corner and is very secure. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Try the couscous resto up a side street opposite the station - very filling and good value.
The manager was very helpful and spoke perfect English, the room was spacious and included a flat screen TV, the air conditioning effective and the breakfast was simple but plentiful. It is across the road from the train station so very handy for inter railers. Very disappointed, no comparison to the quality of a 2* Ibis hotel. The furnishing and bedding were old fashioned, (sheets and blanket), the carpet was stained, the shower fitting was loose, and there were loose tiles in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it for more than a 1 night stopover.
Kindly service and good advice about to go to Cannes and tour de france.
We were very disturbed by the noise from the outside people on the patio either having a drink or a smoke. It was not that they were rowdy but their voices echoed badly..
We stayed at this hotel a few years back and did not think very highly of it then it had not improved , the lighting was awful the room very cramped see above
Good location and easy access from motorway. Comfortable simple accommodation with helpful staff and good restaurant.
Good clean room with free wifi. Restaurant closed on a Saturday night.
A basic hotel, staff always friendly and efficient. Bit close to the railway, but I knew that from previous visit and accept that.
Just what we needed after a long drive- comfortable room, excellent restaurant and very friendly staff. We were so pleased we stayed at the hotel on our homeward trip. No
i liked the staff, they were very friendly and helptul.
convienient stop off the motorway..good price..would use it again
good and safety parking
Used the hotel as an overnight stop en-route to uk from Spain. Hotel was easy to find. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a good buffet style breakfast. Free wifi and secure parking were added bonuses.
The dinner is excellent and the 3 stars worth. Staff is very kind and immaculate. Room is excellent. no
A most beautiful, stylish and comfortable hotel. Suberb service and wonderful food. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in.
Maison Pic is on a rather drab street in Valence. Our room was large, bathroom was lovely. Prices were more than a grand hotel in London I would put it in the same class as Hotel de Ville group in the UK except the prices were obscene. 20euros for a bottle of still water from the mini bar. I found the restaurant overloaded with staff flitting here and there. Food was good but for a plate of lamb at 90euros it should have been amazing and it wasn't.I would not rate this hotel above average but with a totally exaggerated idea of its own importance. It is not in the same league as Le Manoir which serves much better food has more beautiful rooms and is considerably cheaper. Too many staff in the dining room. Food in my opinion was over salted. They did sya Anna Sophie was not on duty so perhap that is the reason. We found dining there not an experience we would care to repeat, it is all too articial and they seem wrapped up in their own importance.
