10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideally suited for a short stay or overnight stop over. Our host Marie was exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. The room was perfect, so too was the breakfast.
Cons: Nothing at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and well equipped. Marie is a great host. Wonderful home made breakfast!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable and stress free. A real pleasure to stay at anytime of the year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very warm welcome after a long hot drive, a chilled apero in the fridge, outside seating area in the shade - so we gratefully combined the two! Very spacious and well thought out space, excellent new shower room. More varieties of tea and coffee than you could ever need! Instead of finding a restaurant, we chose to walk to the supermarket and buy a salad ready meal and eat it back at the house. Breakfast was delivered to our door and was a perfect mix of fresh fruit, juices, croissants, homemade jams and yogurt and local bread. We made our own filter coffee, so it was excellent in every way.
Cons: In driving into the area, it didn't look like it would be a great location, but the house is in an avenue of other substantial properties with private gardens and some parking. Any concerns we may have had were dispelled immediately. We would stay there again!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's a large appartement. Excellent breakfast. Would recommend.
Cons: Opposite the train station
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Marie was the perfect host. Great welcome, made us feel welcome and gave us a great introduction to our accommodation. A lovely night in a comfortable and spacious room. The most beautiful breakfast filled with home made products.
Cons: Nothing at all
La ferme de Bourran - Rodez - Building
2
9.5 Excellent (249 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Ferme de Bourran in Rodez, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Soulages Museum and Rodez Cathedral. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location with excellent staff and facilities. Very good suppers at night and lovely local wines. A car or taxi is necessary as public transport out of town does not cover the lovely old villages.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and could accomodate our request for baby sitting even though it was for late night. The hotel is very nice for kids, with a sweets bar in the lobby and beautiful garden in front.
Cons: There was a small confusion about the cost, since the use of the existing sofa bed in the room was charged extra only because the sofa was set up as a bed with bedsheets. Staff explained the situation kindly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: 1. Small is beautiful (just seven rooms!) 2. High quality furnishings and fittings; tasteful design 3. Quiet setting outside the centre yet within easy reach of main sites 4. Several good restaurants nearby
Cons: If you place the bathroom and toilet on opposite sides of the room, you should equip the toilet with a small hand basin - or at least oil the door hinges so that a prostate-sufferer doesn't wake his wife each time he gets up in the night!! (Room 7)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent large well equipped room overlooking Rodez with everything you could need for a great break. Parking on site with a Michelin star restaurant at the bottom of the road. The manager was very accommodating and Anthony the receptionist was outstanding and could not help enough. This is a truly exceptional property and we would recommend staying here to anyone who likes to be pampered and enjoys quality accommodation.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The house, interior, room space and comfort was super. Loved this place. Breakfast was easy and relaxed and to set outside with the garden view was so pleasant.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything lovely - dog friendly
Cons: Slightly expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: On arrival we were told they had upgraded us to one of their best rooms. The room with 37 m sq. was luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. The hotel is quite close to Rodez but in a quiet upmarket area with excellent restaurants very close by. All in all an excellent experience.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, decor relaxing, breakfast excellent.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location, but close enough from Rodez city center. Very big room, comfortable bed!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Annie and Julie were both excellent hosts and very responsive to any requests.
Cons: A very minor annoyance was that the one air conditioning vent was built into the recessed window sill so you can't really fully close the curtains to avoid the sunlit mornings or you would cut off the flow of the cooler air. The air conditioning could have been a bit stronger as the room never got fully cooled. Shutting the bathroom door helped though. Of course it was in the nineties every day so that might have had something to do with it! Nevertheless, these complaints are minor and the overall stay was wonderful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated farmhouse full of charm. Great breakfast - all homemade. Engaging hosts.
Cons: Only sorry we had only one night - could have stayed much longer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Chriselle and Guillaume were very welcoming . They allowed us leave our bicycles when we arrived early. So helpful in many ways.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome and a beautiful setting in a superbly stylish renovated old property. Pretty garden and excellent breakfast with home made breads, cakes and preserves. We were recommended to eat at the Logis in the village and this was an excellent meal - highly recommended.
Cons: Sadly, we didn't sleep owing to the bells on the village church which struck on the hour every hour - twice, so there were 24 rings at midnight. Such a shame - this would prevent us staying again in this gorgeous property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice B&B, nice and beautiful arranged. Very friendly owner, excellent breakfast with local food. Beautiful building itsself, very charming. Interresting region and very calm. 100% to recommend. Thank you for such a great B&B
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice spacious & romantical room in old restaured farmhouse. Good quality of bed. Bathtub looks really nice and perfect for a long relaxing bath (but not for shower). Friendly hosts. Breakfast more than ok according French standards. This is a B&B that is worth while visiting again to explore the area more into detail.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old farm house in a quiet village. The village has no facilities. Our hosts made us very welcome . On request they provided a rustic evening meal shared with other guests. This worked very well. The log fire was put on for the first time this year and added to the comfort and atmosphere. AgIn, Breakfast was very good with lovely home baking. Our room was spotless, large with roll top bath and log stove if we needed to use it. A real experience of rural life in France
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thought this may be nice but it was fabulous! A treat not far from the A75. If you need a place to stay when travelling nearby, do NOT book a motorway hotel – drive the extra distance and take a break.
Cons: Perhaps a restaurant right next door would make it better but for a quick overnight stay while travelling, it's a fantastic option! Could not complain about this Clos du Barry. Loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts Christelle and Guillame were lovely, friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owners very welcoming. House very nicely renovated. Nice breakfast. Spacious room.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very welcoming and couldn’t have done more for us during our whole stay. They had lots of communal spaces where we could sit. The beds were of a very high standard and the on suite was spotless.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful and very comfortable. The owners are very kind and made my stay perfect.
Cons: If there is any con to mention is the village being a bit far from Gorges du Tarn and closest city with restaurants and grocery store is Millau (10 min by car).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely large room with a balcony. A really warm welcome. The owners went out of their way to assist with a problem with the car.
Cons: A second cup of coffee with breakfast would have been welcome.

Pros: Wonderful place with cosy wagons to stay in. Very friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of fun things for the kids to do. Loved it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable. There was everything there that we could need and more. Had a brilliant nights sleep, exceptional place to stay, thank you so much Nadine and Charly
Cons: Nothing to dislike
6.8 Good
Pros: Quite and peaceful location with very friendly hostess. Kids loved the dog Leon and the small kitten.
Cons: Beds for the kids were way too small. Beds are about 150 cm long whereas our 14 y olds are 170 cm. If you’re kids aren’t toddlers you should be aware of this. It was ok for one night, it would not have been fine for a whole week.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good price, peaceful, clean and perfect location to vist awesome Gorges du Tarn. The owners are were really nice with us and breakfast is so complete with home made jams and really tasty cheese.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous conceps!
Cons: Breakfast a little uninspiring
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charly and Nadine couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. They went beyond expectations taking us to see interests in the area and always with a great smile.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our dog was allowed to stay with us at all times, even while eating. Beautiful setting. Lots of lovely walks.
Cons: What was there not to like! But if you want something the breakfast was a little "sweet" some cheese would have been nice, a suggestion rather than a complaint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything, delicious breakfast a bonus
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely fabulous not far from millau. An oasis away from the bustle. Clean and well equipped with everything you need and more. Lovely hosts and an amazing breakfast included.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's perfect! A gypsy caravan but with a bit more space (and a proper bathroom!). Totally private and beautifully appointed, with lots of provisions on board for your continental breakfast, including a range of home-made jams. We arrived late and left the next morning, so sadly couldn't take advantage of the beautiful countryside - host Nadine can organise walks for you if booked the day before. We did though reserve dinner, which she and Charly brought to our caravan at 8 pm, and it was copious, delicious and local, including the very good Marcillac wine. We would happily go back and spend longer, and I imagine it would be great fun for a family (there are bunk beds as well as a curtained-off double). Make sure you have GPS or get there before it's dark!
Cons: Having a toaster would make the breakfast even better!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The grounds were beautiful and serene - the chateau was beautiful and well appointed. Great in-room amenities. The hotel restaurant was one of the best dinners of our 2 week trip, and the breakfast was delicious. Remy was extremely helpful and friendly to us each and every day. Créator, the puppy, made us smile every morning and night! Great location for exploring Aveyron surrounding area. Great hikes and drives nearby. A perfect chateau hotel for a relaxing getaway.
Cons: We loved the restaurant ambience (especially the bar/lounge) so much we kept saying it would have been nice if they kept the bar open at other times of day outside of just dinner time. Maybe a daily afternoon happy hour? Also would love if there was an area that provided snacks or goodies during the day like meat and cheese or something along those lines.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is an idealic setting in quiet countryside. Lovely secluded swimming pool in what looks like former orchard or walled garden. Very relaxing place.
Cons: Walk up two flights of steep steps to get to your room but it’s over 200 years old and they didn’t have lifts in those days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property We stayed in the treehouse - it was lovely
Cons: Nothing Wished it hadn’t been raining so that we could have taken advantage of the lovely swimming pool within the vineyard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, perfect location in the countryside and very quiet. Amazing building and overall friendly staff. Great breakfast
Cons: Dinner in the restaurant on the first night was somewhat disappointing. Not the food or the location. But the waiter seemed to imply that as a female single traveller, I was " unusual " Many flies and wasps in the dining areas, this could be solved easily with citronella candles or similar. Given an amazing property I was very surprised this is not looked at. Only took dinner one night as a result, which was disappointing, given the menu and location and views from the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome with a guided tour of property was a great start & our room, Cardinale, was lovely, spacious & very comfortable. Dinner in the bistro was equally good. B'fast buffet with good selection was delicious. Beautiful property & it gets better every time we stay! The resident dog was entertaining too! The weather was cool & windy so a pool swim was not on the menu sadly.
Cons: The only thing i can think of was lack of a shelf in the bathroom for our toilet bags.
6.8 Good
Pros: The beds were really comfy and the room was spacious. Food in the restaurant was excellent but limited. Breakfast was good.
Cons: It was hard to find a member of staff. The staff multi tasked - booked you in, served in the restaurant and cleaned the rooms. This gave the impression that the establishment was being run on a shoestring for maximum profit. No bar apart from an honesty bar is one example. A very small fixed menu with no a la carte option is another example. Watch out for the stair rods, they have a life of their own!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding area is very nice, just like the hotel. Rooms nice and roomy
Cons: We had an art- deco style room. Black and white very and luxe, with shower in middle of the room (wich we dont like, but for everyone different) and behind that a very beautiful ceramic double sink. But without room to put even a toothbrush and thats really annoying. But the most grief for us was, that this is an expensive hotel (ca150€ a night) with a very good restaurant (they are members of the connaiseurs hotels witch we would like to visit all ;). But on our stay the restaurant was closed (MON and TUE) and i think that is absolutely insane. There u are in your expensive hotel with no bar, no food whatsoever nothing! Yes a leaflet to show you wich pizzeria you can visit 20km away, surroundings dark as hell, you dont want to do that when you did 600+ km already. I think it is proposterous to close your restaurant when you have a hotel. Close for 3 or 4 or 5 months but not when your open that is a slap in the face of your customer. I called customer service from booking, they were very nice and understanding. They promised they would look into my solution of mentioning a ‘“the kitchen is closed on your booking day” message before booking so you can look for alternative hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unspoilt traditional feel Beautiful countryside
Cons: No air conditioning but we expected this as we were in a very old room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: So much. Great restaurant. Fantastic tranquil pool setting. Spa with view lounge areas and all admist rolling hills and country outlook. Staff lovely. Setting lovely food lovely will definately be back
Cons: There were a lot of flies in the room. There was no air conditioning. So I guess windows had been open for a while to cool it down. So before we settled down I needed to kill about 25 flies. Otherwise everything was perfect

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice grand old house, nice gardens and pool. Very friendly host and his son, we speak very little french but got on very well - we did not have time to use the pool but it looked very inviting.
Cons: Would suggest croissants and cereal etc as option for children at breakfast to make it more family friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings and property. Host was very welcoming and the breakfast was superb and all home made produce, delicious!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house with a lot of character. Louis the host was very helpful with information on walks, drives and restaurants in the area. Delicious and generous breakfast! Thank you!

Cons: The room was very basic, with poor lighting and furnishings.
6.5 Good
Cons: Audible conversations nearby from 10 pm to 5am
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was good, away from the main roads. Quiet at night. Friendly staff.
Cons: Despite the hotel not being busy when we stayed we were still allocated a room in the roof on the 5th floor. It was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep despite the windows being left open.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was charming, the room comfortable and the service friendly and efficient. The location could not have been better - right in the centre of town. Parking would have been difficult under normal circumstances but as it was Ascension Thursday there were no parking fees and these was a reduced level of traffic so finding a space (right outside the hotel) was a dream. There are many restaurants and bars in easy walking distance and, more importantly, the main sights of the old city are on the doorstep.
Cons: I understood from the booking information that breakfast was included but in fact it was not so that was a little bit of a surprise and pushed the final cost above what we had expected. However the choice and quality of the breakfast was great. Overall reasonable value for an hotel in the centre of the city.
7.0 Good
Pros: Central location and close to all facilities and restaurants.
Cons: No car parking which maybe an issue. The breakfast was expensive for what it was. Otherwise it was fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for a city break. The parking was convenient, just across the road in an underground car park. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Our room had a shower over the bath. This can be very dangerous and is unusual in Hotels and B & Bs today. If we could have changed room we would have done but the hotel was full.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely employee Nice decorations in the room
Cons: Breakfast is too expensive for what it is There was a sock under the bed You don't feel special when you enter
