everything was good, good located and very quite.
nothing, everything was good.
The personnel were very nice. It was the cheapest we could find in the area and walking distance from the nice (but expensive) Collioure. There were rooms available on the day we booked. The bedroom and shower was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shampoo and shower gel was provided. We were lucky to have no mosquitoes so could have the windows open. I wouldn't recommend for much longer than a night. It does the job if looking for an affordable place to stay the night while in Collioure, but don't expect more!
The walls were very thin and we could hear people returning from nights out and using running water clearly in the night. The room was quite warm and there were no fans - but luckily we could have the windows open and there were no mosquitoes that night - a fan could have helped. The location itself is not pretty but it does the job if looking for a place for the night to visit Colliure. It was the cheapest place we could find in the area, booking on the day we arrived but it was very expensive for the quality of the room. No towels were provided. The toilet in the corridor was clean but did have a strong unpleasant smell.
Good location and view
No lift Carried luggage more than 30 stairs to 2nd floor. Very basic more like a hostel than hotel
Small town, shopping, train station and harbor area (restaurants and bars) all within 5 to 10 min walk.
The hotel owner was very friendly and spoke excellent English. The rooms are in a separate building, which is opposite the railway station and accessed via a sliding gate. We found that the room numbers were upside down, with the highest numbers on the ground floor and the lowest on the third. The rooms in the lower price bracket do have their own toilets, but they're across the landing, in a row on the other side. The room itself was pretty basic and sparse, with single-glazed windows and traditional French wooden shutters, which unfortunately didn't keep out the sound of the first train of the day at 5.50am! There was just a sheet on the bed and no other bedding available should it get cold. Apart from that, the bed was very comfortable once we'd draped ourselves with our own jackets for warmth. The shower was tiny and stood in a cubicle in the bedroom, with just a badly-fitting curtain to keep the spray in. The walls were so thin that you could hear everything being said in the next room! Breakfast was ordered the day before and was quite good, with baguette, croissants and pain au chocolat to choose from. The owner was on hand to bring anything extra you needed, such as hot milk for coffee and he was very pleasant and chatty. He showed us a shortcut to the town, which was just a 10 minute stroll away and well worth a visit with several restaurants to choose from, even out of peak season. Overall, a tricky hotel to score because we deliberately picked the cheapest one in the area due to a last-minute change of plan. My wife described it as 'indoor camping'. Very basic, but strangely enjoyable. Good for an overnight stop on the way to somewhere else, but you probably wouldn't want to stay for more than a night or two.
