Good reception staff, pleasant & polite restaurant staff. Clean facilities Bar prices too high - 10.50euros for 2 large beers that were not completely full - we thought was excessive & poor value for money
very convenient en route hotel nothing
The room was clean and the hotel was adjacent to the highway. The hotel was understaffed and was abandoned at check-in time. The room design was impractical - in particular the bathroom. Poorly thought out room design was an annoyance during our stay.
It was close to the motorway and a nice quiet location. Hotel was good and staff friendly. The bar/restaurant does not open Sunday evenings like most of the restaurants in the area
The restaurant meals were excellent. They obviously have a very good chef - for a budget hotel this was very unexpected. We ate at the restaurant for three nights in a row and every meal was top class. The yound waitress was very efficient and helpful. Her wind and food suggestions were spot on. The Manager was also very helpful. The hotel is almost new and the rooms were spacvious and clean. La Brede is a good central location for both bordeaux aiport and the vineyards. Nothing really
The chateau was beautifully restored by the owners and they were charming hosts.
we liked the peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness of rooms and grounds also the pool and facility of bicyclle hire we thought it would be nice if there was a bar or simmple restaurant to enjoy some company of an evening,as there was very little evening activity in the village (tthe local bar was clised)
The setting. This is a work in progreass hotel.
A quaint hotel with friendly owner situated among vineyards. Large rooms with kitchenette but no restaurant - 3 mins drive. Breakfast included.
Nice enviroment, kind staff and beautiful rooms. Noiseless and relaxed. For those with children there is a new McDonal just two minutes away.
The accommodation and owners were both lovely, they did everything to make us feel welcome. I would recommend it. The only thing was the gravel in the inner courtyard which made it difficult for my partner to walk and to wheel my suitcase across to my room, it would be better if it was a solid surface, also as it was raining it was a little bit messy. Secondly, in the room there was nowhere to put our case and I felt awkward as I had to place it on top of a very nice chair.
Village location but close enough to city for visits and meals. An all year round hotel that looked very off season outside. Untidy gardens and stacked up furniture clearly visible.
Very peaceful, luxurious and beautiful walks at dusk. Perfect end to our holiday travelling around St Emilion and Bordeaux reqgion. Perfect location to get to airport with ease, and far enough to experience the tranquility of the area. Beautiful Chateau. ... the weather could have been a bit warmer and less cloudy! Apart from that, perfect.
The Hotel was Fantastic! Everything was perfect. Breakfast, Bedroom, Garden, Swimming pool. I will stay again and enjoy this beautiful place and service. An early check-in was possible, and we were upgraded to a better room. Stay here if you come to Bordeaux!!!!!!!!!! This is just hotel policy, but 15 Euro for 1h extension of stay is expensive.
It is a peaceful setting overlooking a vineyard. You ar in the country, but in 5 minutes you can walk to the bakery, a restaurant, a brasserie and tourist information. It was quaint, peaceful and full of antiques. Breakfast was included in my room rate and was very good, lots of choices. The staff are very friendly and offer restaurant suggestions in town and a few towns away. There was a terrible rain storm one night and we woke up to 2 inches of water in our room. We were in a room on the main floor on the lowest level. Our hosts were very gracious to move us out to another room and very apologetic. The soil is clay with crusshed rock on top. Unfortunately it rained to heavy and long for the ground to absorb the water.
