The entire facility needs upgrading. As I walked into the lobby and down the halls it was shabby. The rooms however, were better than the common areas.
Loved the bedding. Slept great. I did not like the bathroom sliding door. To slide it open is heavy and unsafe when it is open. Almost walked into the mirror. It is beautiful though.
Total redo of an older hotel. Very modern. Love having the coffee shop downstairs to grab breakfast at in the am and the hotel restaurant upstairs in fantastic. Great location with easy access to the MAX train lines. No issues. The parking at $25/day is high.
This was a complete random choice thru hotel tonight app but I could not leave once I saw the lobby : the citizens bakery and then the amazing room : I ended up extending my stay thru 9 more days! Great happy staff and excellent realistic affordable room rates made me continue to call this home / I'm happy there and I consider it my new Portland home when I'm in town Everything was awesome. Great gob everyone!
Staff was super great! Room was clean. Great location. Worth every penny! The wifi only last 30 minutes unless you pay extra.
Helpful staff. Facility is due for renovations - they start next month.
The bed was about the only good thing about the Red Lion. The location near the Moda Center is nice too! Loudest hotel ever!! Paper thin walls and a room by the elevator = Not a lot of sleep. $14 parking is ridiculous! Especially after paying for the overpriced room... The cleaning crew started cleaning rooms at 9am. So much for respecting their guest.. We've stayed at a handful of Red Lion hotels and this one is by far the WORST!! Save yourself some money and aggravation and book the Quality Inn across the street!
We loved everything. The bed was very comfortable. The room was beautiful and spacious and modern. The shower was amazing. It was huge and had 3 different shower heads. All of the staff was super friendly an amazing. The girl working the front desk upgraded us to a suite. without any charge just because we had mentioned it was date night when she asked us what brought us to Portland. The room we stayed in had floor-to-ceiling Windows which was so pretty at night. We have robes too. as a woman the other thing I loved was our shower head shampoo conditioner and body wash pumps on the wall. I normally bring my own shampoo and conditioner when I travel because in those little tiny bottles there's never enough product. So being able to use as much conditioner as I needed was a definite plus. We also had dessert at the restaurant which was super delicious. It was a gorgeous evening in the rooftop bar is lovely. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
Location is great - right next to a nice, big, mall, restaurants, a park across the street. Parking garage is covered and not overpriced. 2am woman screaming at BF in hallway but hotel security responded immediately and ended the drama quickly.
The concierge/bellman Big Al was the best I have ever had, great guy, very informative, great representative of the hotel. Yes the AC in our room did not cool it down.
Convention going on of young adults no longer with addictions. It was like walking through a lobby of street kids. Lots of people smoking right outside of the door. Loud music. Not the ideal group that the hotel should be hosting. Made me feel very uncomfortable and not safe.
Hotel room was clean, bathroom was a good size. Never got the cookies when I checked in....kinda sucked. Bath tub was a little old looking. Location wasn't great if you're looking to do downtown portland.
I enjoyed the friendly staff, and I also enjoyed the location! It's right in the middle of everything. I didn't try any of their restaurants but they are all places I would have considered if I had a bit bigger of a budget. There was alarms set off accidentally during my stay. Was inconvenient to leave my room when I was resting, but other than that it was good.
The room was small but clean and the bed was perfect. We got delicious chocolate cookies when checking in.
The hotel staff was the friendliest and most accommodating group of people. $25 per night valet parking was annoying
Rooms had a great view & lots of space
We travel to town to catch Portland trailblazers games at the Moda center and always prefer to stay here. The rooms aren't as up to date, stylish and updated as the lobby, restaurant and bar.
For $250.00 plus tax for 1 person I would have liked an extended continental breakfast included in the room rate
I like the staff. They were helpful and giving. Very nice and professional. The food was good as we had room service. I didn't like a 230am fire alarm that was tripped. I didn't like the fact Kayak did not express the 24.00 a night parking and valet. The front desk lady who was very nice at check in gave us 25.00 in food and drink vouchers. The valet also said street parking was free and available after a certain time. I tipped them good.
Nice hotel with outdoor space that has fire pit. Recommended.
In room fireplace was great, close to everything, free parking
Location Paying for parking is a rip off. This is just a motel far from downtown.
Two Bedroom suite was excellent for 3 adults and 2 children (5 and 8). Breakfast facilities for a busy Saturday morning were cramped. Breakfast was good but crowed and not easy to manage with small children. This was a busy Saturday with a boys baseball team staying there -- but more space for breakfast would have made this a much better experience.
The people who work here are beyond friendly and inviting. This hotel is also in a great location.
The beds were super comfy, room was spacious, heater worked well and the staff were friendly. Location was perfect for us in walking distance to the moda centre, lloyd centre and the city train had a stop right out the front There was no faults to this accomodation.
It had a TV Im almost certain the desk clerk stole my debit card. Management refuses to believe it could have been him
Staff was wonderful. Very helpful with suggestions on what to see, where to eat. Close to the train and I-84. Will definitely stay again. Need one more trash can in the room. :-)
best price and clean enough. Room smelled a bit like perfume...probably for masking smoke smell. Opened windows and was fine.
The location Max Rail was loud.
For the price I didnt like much of anything. It was noisy all night from traffic or the transit system. Felt almost unsafe even with the door locked. This is a last resort if ya need a spot to stay.
This is a great place to stay if you're not going to spend a lot of time in the room. If you're here for business, or to adventure off into Portland then it's an excellent location. The room is very basic, including a bed, desk, dresser, TV, bathroom, and air conditioning. It's not particularly fancy, and I felt my room was a bit dim even with all the lights on. It didn't bother me but some people may feel it looks a bit spooky. If you're looking for something fancy, look elsewhere. For what I paid I think the room and location was excellent. It's a great basic place to spend the night. I particularly didn't care at all, because I was falling asleep right away every night, but if you're a light sleeper, stay away!! The Portland Trimet system runs very efficiently and you'll be hearing a rumbling sound every ten minutes. My room's shower unit also had a water temperature handle that was labeled incorrectly, so cold and hot were reversed. Potentially dangerous. But at least it was a good, hot shower when adjusted properly.
I chose it for the location and that was great - fit my needs perfectly
The room is nice and clean. The hotel has an old feel to it. Checkout was at 12pm. We decided to get breakfast before checking out at 8am. When we came back they has already started cleaning. I needed to use the bathroom and when I walked in everything was half cleaned and wet everywhere still. So disappointed with this. As I went to the bathroom the cleaning guy still proceeded to clean the room while my friend waited in the hallway. Weirdest experience ever...
The view from the top floor is gorgeous!
Smelly. Squeaky bed unsafe location
The bathroom wax clean and looks new Might need to update the blanket covers
Great location, clean room, friendly staff. Bathroom setup was tight and awkward.
The place was clean, beds were comfy, the staff was nice and the location was good - stayed for Kumoricon, was about a five minute walk from the convention center, and the sauna was nice~ Free breakfast was scarce, poor water pressure for the shower, old building - no elevator (friends and I had lots of luggage), the key cards don't work at times - sometimes it took one try to get into the room other times it took up to 10 tries.
The front desk was very friendly. Close to Moda Center and restaurants. We had no hot water in the morning. The breakfast bar was now replenished in a timely manner. We are supposed to be getting a 50% refund from you because we had no hot water.
Ample free parking, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, I didn't like having to go through the lobby to get to my room.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet. Good location - convenient to everything we wanted to see. Free parking. Really nice staff. I wish check-in was earlier. Most places have some flexibility there. But, it's a smaller place and if they can't, they can't.
Breakfast Locks on the door. Toddler kept getting out. Needs a chain lock on the top. Found a dirty sock on the floor from the last guest. Coffee stains on the comforter also not ours. Beds were very uncomfortable. I felt like the beds were made and not changed.
Out of Downtown, but very close. Near Light-Rail and Max lines. Several breweries nearby and soooo close to the Pearl District. Older facility, needs some upgrades. Entrance is hard to navigate with crutches, walker or wheelchair.
-Location -Price is cheaper than surrounding hotels -Convenient access to I-5 -Very dated -Good price for the location, but this is not a $200/night hotel -TV, iron, furniture, etc should all be replaced and updated -Not the cleanest place I've stayed at
Location is very nice - a lot of public transportation in walking distance. It smells like an old hotel...
I have stayed here every time I have come to Portland for a Blazers game since 2013. This hotel always has wildly different pricing, when I booked this room the Shilo site was advertising $120, I paid $80 on Kayak. It's only a 5 minute walk to the Moda Center and the streetcar stop is right out front. Rooms are always clean and never get the "Oh crap, bedbugs" vibe. Bagels with no cream cheese?? Really guys? And a 19" CRT? Pop for a TV from this century, even The Campus Inn in Eugene has LCD's.
Comfortable bed. Clean No abc, cbs, or nbc. Had to go to the crowne plaza to watch badketball. Staff did not acknowledge us. Staff put leftover guest butter out for breakfast.
