Continental breakfast was impressive - easily the best thing about it. I don't know what everyone else is complaining about. I went back for seconds and there was still tons left. Everything else was fine as expected. I don't stay in luxurious hotels, and this place had all the amenities I needed and expected. Pool was in disrepair, but I didn't mind for myself. If I had small children with me, I would have been more worried, but that was not the case.
good water pressure. breakfast was decent Heater didnt work and the TV and Internet was in and out.
ExcEllenton rooms that were big and clean Not a lot of food options close by
The location was central to the air port and stadium. The parking lot was littered with beer cans. The room next to ours was rented to a group of teenagers throwing a party. Loud music and yelling/laughing/smoking out of the balcony/slamming doors/pounding on the walls until 5am. We called the front desk 4+ times asking to be moved or to have the party kicked out, neither of which happened. We only got 2 hours of sleep. The next morning we asked for a refund for the night and to let us cancel our reservation to move to a different hotel but we were told that only a manager can give out refunds. This was Saturday morning-so no manager would be onsite for 4 days? Getting only 2 hours sleep ruined our entire day.
Fast check in Hotel room was very small, bad neighborhood, no vending machines on property, maintenance needed on shower head, blood on towels and very limited.... coffee pot in room not washed after previous people.and no elevators..no bed spread on bed..just overall not worth the money
They had a room when other hotels were all booked up. I found out why they had a room the staff was quite bad. I was given room 239 , my keys didn't work, so I returned to the lobby and the clerk said he had keyed the the cards for room 229, so he programmed them for room 239 as he had written and told me. I went back to room 239 and the new keys worked , except the room was occupied. I went back to the lobby and this time I was given 229 . This resolved the room issue. The next morning I went to the lobby at 4 am for my shuttle for my flight, the clerk checked and said I was not on the list for the shuttle, which I had been added to the previous night. I did eventually get on the shuttle, but I fear at another unhappy passengers expense. Overall I would not recommend them to anyone.
Breakfast options were awesome! Morning staff was really nice and friendly. Price was decent. Night staff is TERRIBLE. I chose this hotel in part for the airport shuttle. Next time I'll get a cheaper hotel and use Lyft. I called the hotel for pickup after getting my luggage. "Our driver will be there in 10 minutes!" Sat and waited for 30 minutes and nothing. Called them again and they said there was an accident by the airport and the driver was stuck in traffic. Funny how I saw the shuttles for their competitors nearby go by more than once and how Google Maps and Waze showed no traffic between the hotel and the airport. Van shows up 55 minutes after my original call, driver has his leftovers box in the seat next to him. That answers that question. They could've been honest and I would have just had dinner at the airport instead of sitting on concrete smelling exhaust. No apology, no friendliness, and at the end of the ride he gave me a "where's my tip?" look, followed by a dirty look when he got nothing. Needed more soap in the room and night staff acted like that was the biggest inconvenience in the world - after making me wait 5 minutes. Outside of the building by the entrance steps it smelled strongly of urine. Disgusting. Maintenance on the rooms is bare minimum. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work, a couple of the CFL bulbs were dim/half burned. Caulking on the tub was sloppy, crappy patching on drywall. Plugs in bedroom all taken by old power strips. WiFi slooooow. BOTTOM LINE: I am price-conscious and wanted the breakfast and airport shuttle for convenience. I'd have spent the same amount and been better off getting a no-frills motel and using Lyft for a shuttle and buying breakfast somewhere. Convenience doesn't come easy when the staff has a can't be inconvenienced attitude.
Beds were surprisingly comfortable, bathroom very clean. Air conditioning was phenomenal. Very quiet hotel. Staff over the phone very helpful and kind. Safety deposit was not refunded and price not mentioned anywhere on website. Breakfast room was small and cramped, but food not permitted to be taken back in rooms. Building itself could use an upgrade.
Room was above some machines that ran all night. I could not sleep because of the noise.
Pool with balcony/porch views Kayak does not specify that you are given a pet friendly room until after you are booked- some people are allergic to dander- pet inclusive rooms should be a segregated category and made prominent before a non cancellable reservation is made
Nice mattresses, friendly helpful staff Pool was closed even though listed as an amenity. Breakfast room was very crowded, but the staff kept it well stocked.
Sheets and towels were outright gross, multiple visible stains. This is pretty basic stuff for a motel. Despite the cheap price, you don't get what you pay for.
It was convenient to the airport. We didn't actually sleep. The Exit door was propped open, people were coming in and out all night. When we left at 3:30 am there were sleepy prostitutes walking through the lobby, and there was a drug deal happening outside on the sidewalk.
The room had a color theme and was pretty clean. There was a stove top and full fridge. And microwave. There was a table and the entire room was quite spacious. There was a nice new tv. You could tell it was new bc it still had the energy saver tag from the store on the screen. There was no turn table in the microwave there were bowls in the cabinet and some cooking utensils in a drawer like someone lived there. The light and fan above the stove top didn't work. There were no chairs for the table. The hallways looked like it was under construction because the carpets were dirty and the it looked like someone had recently removed the floor molding on the entire first floor.
Cheap Kayak listed this as America's Best Value Inn, but the name has changed to Studio 6 Extended Stay...this was a bit confusing. Then, as we were checking in, my husband wanted to double check that there was an airport shuttle for our early flight the next morning, which Kayak had listed as an amenity, and the front desk reported that they no longer offer this service...their shuttle was broken...permanently broken. We asked to stop the check-in process while we looked elsewhere to stay. Unfortunately we couldn't find anywhere last minute, so we had to stay at this hotel. We then had to book a taxi to the airport...which was only about $10, but still an unexpected expense to pay at 4:30am for our early flight. Also, the room was FILTHY. Marker marks on the bedspread, dirty floors and carpet, etc. The room smelled and made you feel gross just standing in there. We are not panicked people by this stuff either...it just was truly a gross, cheap place to stay. We slept in full clothes and put shirts on the pillows just in case...again, we are not normally this worried, but this place was pretty sketchy and icky. Fair warning.
The room was renovated recently, but the rest of the building is in the middle of renovation - loose wires, drywall everywhere, disgusting old carpet in the hallways. The picture of the front of the building is not the actual building itself. This hotel is in a BAD area. It seems Pimps and prostitutes actually live in the building and conduct business there (they are kept on the first floor). I heard a woman having raucous sex while we were checking in, the place smelled of cigarettes. The list goes on and on. I only stayed there because we got in very late and had nowhere else to stay before our flight out of Portland.
Large rooms I can't even begin.. Awful service , foul and dingy looking dump. Tried to be remodeled but so cheaply done.. Bashed up doors and stairs . Funky smells throughout . Just totally gross..
The staff was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The location is quite convenient. Hotel is undergoing renovations so it is pretty noisy during the day. Someone either forgot to put in or stole our showerhead & we had to ask staff for a replacement (which they promptly did). The maid also forgot to clean our room one day,
We arrived at 6pm and the room wasn't ready yet. We were given another room, but it wasn't clean and there was no air conditioning.
Remodeled, spacious bedrooms. One staff member was very helpful when I needed to print some tickets, which is a plus these days. Although the hotel is pretty close to the airport, the neighbourhood is skecthy, to the point it made me feel unsafe at times. One can find similar facilities close to the airport in better shape in terms of security, although it might cost some 10-20 bucks more. Shower temperature varied a lot, which was very incovenient.
