Very informal and friendly atmosphere, staff very helpful. Evening meal (cena) remarkable value and excellent quality. Bathroom facilities very high standard. No
Very modern, friendly staff and very close to archaelogical park.
Close to archeological site, within walking distance to the beach and dinning facilities. Principal reception staff member very helpful.
View of sea, close proximity to ruins Staff were not very responsive. Room was marginal.
free internet room, breakfast, service
*Extraordinary* nice owner family who runs the hotel. We felt almost like part of the family. The WiFi proved quite good too.
Close to the ruins no elevator
Very welcoming staff. Hotel at all is a good value for it's price if you need place to stay near Selinunte's ruins. No wifi on the 2nd floor. Narrow beds. No elevator.
The hotel is situated close to the beach and port and had a nice roof terrace for breakfast We had no balcony and the lady who met us on arrival must have been having a bad day as she was not very welcoming or helpful at all! However other staff were fine
breakfast in the nearby 4 star hotel with a fantastic view although i had to walk in the rain to get there staff were unsmiling bordering on the rude, credit card machine wasn't working
I liked the balcony. it was very high music in the evening, slaming in doors, moving around furniture on the terass above us.
Hotel's location is excellent, very close to Selinunte's temple valley. Also the breakfast was very nice. Our shower was a bit degraded. Not related to the hotel: If you park nearby on the streets, don't put your car under a lacony or it might get a dirty water shower like ours.
Close to the sea and archeological park Selinunte, nice breakfast buffet
Helpful person at reception Our guidebook said that it has one of the best restaurants in Sicily, but we were quite disappointed in our dinner.
Impossible to sleep due to noisy fan on the roof above my small room. Restaurant meal promised well but main course was inedible. Breakfast (good) was served at a nearby hotel.
nice hotel, friendly staff
good location to Selinunte archeological site, near to beach and marina, nice breakfast, elevators old hotel need renovation, poor bathroom
breakfast choice was very limited.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I also like the proximity to the beach. I had a view of the temple from my room. That was nice. The supermarcato was very close and, therefore, convenient.
Good location for visiting Selinunte architectural site; lovely ocean view from balcony; the breakfast room is on the top floor with views of the ocean and Greek temple; Adequate breakfast. Staff was efficient and helpful. This is a relatively new hotel and was not full when we visited ( we were there off season); but even so, 'plumbing' noises' could be heard from room to room.
Very nice room with seaview from two balconies. Excellent breakfast. Nice personnel. Close to Greek excavations.
Beautiful views. Liked the position of the Breakfast Room. Nowhere to sunbathe. They had lots of areas which would have been suitable, but no sun loungers.
Excellent location, beautiful hotel.Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast
Efficient, helpful and friendly staff at an hotel with good all round facilities.
This hotel has good location on the beach and near Selinunte ruins. Wondeful view from the top floor (restaurant), room is big enough. I think the four stars hotel could have some fitness area (sauna , gym, swimming pool). Hotel is open all year round, and it could be quit useful. There are bo bathtub in the rooms, but I like to take a bath during the winter.
I was told it had internet. Only possible to connect by phone which is very slow and very expensive.
Location, cleanliness and general comfort. Terrace breakfast bar was superb. Mini bar fridge was warm, staff could be friendlier and satellite TV could be more comprehensive.
Excellent Restaurant. Great fish. Great price
Beautiful and relaxing surroundings, lovely old farm building with charming rooms. Swimming pool and buildings both very clean. Staff were very friendly and superb local cuisine and wine were served in the evenings. Not too far to drive for interesting sight-seeing.Thouroughly memorable.
Friendly staff, excelent food and even better wine. Great for romance... :)
Tenuta Stoccatello is a very friendly, well run agriturismo outside of Menfi (a GPS or a good map of the area is recommended). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the dinners in their restaurant were very tasty - and very reasonable. If you enjoy running you should try to find a few loops through the local vineyard roads around the farm. The rooms are a bit small. Difficult to find.
the warmth of the staff The worn out facilities and dark depressing rooms
Friendlyness of the staff, great food, and pleasant surroundings
excellent dinner breakfast started too late. No hairdryer.
It don't think that the quality of their food was emphasised enough on the information available before we booked. The hotel advocates 'slow food'. The quality of the food and wine it produces from it's land is exceptional. We had just come from Palermo and I felt it so easy to just relax at this hotel. Be sure to try their wines from their own vineyard. It is a little difficult to find. You would need a car to avail of this hotel but perhaps thats part of the charm!!
A lovely location and nice agriturismo. I can't imagine this is the same place as some earlier reviews. Our room was clean, the pool was lovely and cleam, yes there are insects but you are in the country, thats where they live! The food was good and we were able to purchase beers, ice cream, water etc during the day from the pool bar. We didn't use the spa as it the weather was too hot, but there were lots of options to choose from. This is a lovely, get away from it location. Also the wines are superb.
Very pleasant location, comfortable room, helpful staff and good food make this a great place for an overnight stay or an extended break Ensure you have good directions before you go; it could be hard to find
Peace, food, style and staff Dinner not available every night
The location, the view and the spacious room. Breakfast is improvable.
New modern resort surrounded by wine yards. We had the suite with jacuzzi and the room is nice.
It seems not to be in the old Sicily. A hope for the future?
Very functional, staff excellent. Had a wedding scheduled, could not eat in restaurant but they made dinner available. with full menu.
good sized room and balcony. room--a/c ineffective. Hot water for shower available only 3 mornings of 5."Resort" facilities minimal.Resort very isolated.Reception open approx.8am to 6pm only.Appeared no staff anywhere on site outside those hours.Restaurant on site v.poor and open 2evenings in week only
The hotel was excellently located right on the beach front in Selinunte. The room was dark but very big and spacious and clean. The staff were friendly (no English spoken). The hotel was fairly basic but good value for money and a great location. Card machine doesn't work - only cash accepted.
Free internet facilities, excellent inexpensive dinner with prompt service (unusual in Sicily!). Secure parking facilities at no extra cost a big bonus. Clear signposts on every corner to hotel from all directions extremely helpful. This hotel has actually thought about what visitors need and delivered. Staff very friendly as well.
Attractive hotel, clean, comfortable and very conveniently situated for visiting the temples.
Very good location if you don't mind the some 50 steps to the beach. Very quiet on that night, however, the -upgraded- room balconies touch each other and face those on the opposite side of the building, all with sea view on the side. Very pleasant staff. Free on-premise parking. Dinner at the hotel restaurant just correct .Breakfast mediocre. Toilet paper of lowest quality. Not perfectly managed: no liquid soap in the washing bassin distributor. Synthetic blanket which prevented my having a good night.
This hotel is a jewel - run by a very friendly family who take pride in looking after their guests and in their cooking. Location right by the beach with a view of the Selinunte temples. Simple, unpretentious - suited us perfectly.
We visited Solinunte - the hotel is just beside it.
Good location above the long sandy beach. Front rooms with balcony have views to the Selinunte ruins. Better, less pre-packed, breakfast
Proximity to Selinunte Greek site. Completely without character with barely adequate breakfasts and only intermittent hot water.
clean and comfortable. staff helpful. fantasic sea view location. great value and high standards in hotel and its restaurant. decor dated but not tired. otherwise excellent.
It was fairly close to the ancient temple site. Friendly staff The hotel is not at all attractive physically.
i did enjoy my stay ,however I didnt realise it was a family resort and therefore very noisy the noise from the entertainment was not to my liking
Great places No english tv chanels
Beautiful location. My son liked the children's cabaret. Room looked as if it had not been renovated since 1970s. Breakfast was the worst we've ever had at a hotel. No towels available for beach. Should I go on?
The hotel was very close to the beach. It was clean and a nice big room with balcony. It would be a great place to take a family. It was very difficult to find. We had to stop and ask several people and we got lost more than once. It would be helpful to include directions and let people know how far it is from town.
The view from our room was over the sea. Included breakfast and paid for dinner was very average and overpriced .
access to beach facilities free of charge
This hotel is isolated. To go to the Selinunte temples is an hour's walk on foot or an expensive taxi ride. There is no bus alternative. It is almost as far from the nearest alternative restaurant.
Huge swimming pool and a nice beach! Calm and cheap because of few tourists in the end of may. Good location for visiting Sellinunte. Flexible personnel? They didn’t mind that we use the swimming pool after the “opening hours” ( which is quite common in Sicily). No charm. Big complex to welcome big mass of tourists. There is nothing around - you have to eat in the restaurant if you don't want to drive. Car is necessary.
Food was fantastic----appetizer and pasta were impressively delicious, and even the meal they prepared for my baby was very good. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. View from the terrace was breathtaking and the room itself was spacious and very clean. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel.
Fantastic accomodation. Great food and own wines. Super swimming pool. Very quiet.
The accommodations were lovely, the staff very friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful and the food wonderful.
You need a car to visit temples, thermae and beaches.
We were very warmly welcomed and all along our stay there was this special attention from staff. Beautifully and tastefully renovated building. Excellent dinner and breakfast with own grown products. Nice swimming pool in the garden. A good place to stay and visit the interesting region.
very good atmosphere, staff excellent, owner taking care as of family - feel really welcome there. 10 points! Better directions how to get to the hotel would be appreciated.
best experience in Sicily, accommodation excellent, the food so simple but so sweet you can feel the flavors from vegetables grown on Casa Maribele property and the best at the end the owners treated you like family.
