Pros: Room was recently tastefully renovated, very clean, bed was very comfortable. Lots of nice towels. Room was very quiet. Lots of choice for the breakfast that was included. Friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stay.
Cons: Pool was a bit small and would have liked a hot tub. On Kayak, price shown was in $US, not $C, so wasn't quite the bargain we thought. However - that was our own fault. Still a good deal.

Pros: WOW.. can't say enough good about this one.. home away from home for sure. The complimentary evening 'social' is actually a meal and the complimentary breakfast has everything you could want! We had a king suite with a water view.. WORTH IT!
Cons: there is truly not one thing we didn't like.. if you have walking limitations then you may want to cab it from the waterfront..as it is uphill but the distance is very short

Underground waking to Scotia Square!
Cons: Called ahead to make sure their parking would accommodate a full size truck. Was told yes. Getting in was not a problem but getting out was nerve wracking!! One truck had its side scaped trying to maneuver the tight corner while another had its truck cap scraped while we were there!!!

Pros: I loved the location and the room was large.
Cons: The pool was tiny, and the price almost doubled with taxes add-ons, such as marketing fees, and parking.
Pros: The room was great
Cons: No sauna, but that was fine. Also for the price of the stay a breakfast of some sort should have been included.
Pros: The location
Cons: It's over looks other buildings. Great view but can't enjoy it without other people in your business.
Pros: Location is very nice (very close to Halifax waterfront)
Cons: Prices quoted are US dollars :(
Pros: Location was great
Cons: There was no breakfast menu in the room when I called down to inform them I was told they could read it over the phone I asked for one to be sent up. 15 minutes or so later i was called and told they don't offer breakfast to guests staying one night.

Cons: Didn't like tha I checked in after 3, but only one room was ready, so I was over the parking garage on the first floor.
Pros: Location, great room size for value. Full kitchen really had a full kitchen.
Cons: Lobby is so tiny and doesn't feel like hotel. If you are looking to sleep in, keep in mind the very loud construction directly across the street starting at 7am (summer-ongoing 2015)
When I got to my room there was a large soaking wet spot on the floor... When I asked I didn't get an answer.. Hmm..

Pros: Hotel was awesome and very impressed, however the elevators are extremely slow. It took upwards of 10-15 mins at times for us to get up and down to and from the 15th floor.
Pros: The hotel was in walking distance to all if halifax harbor front.
Cons: We wished there was a small fridge in the room.
Pros: Beautiful new rooms, spacious, great location.
Cons: waited for 30 minutes to check in (huge lineup with lots of agitated guests)
only one elevator, so waited 10+ minutes to get on the elevator EVERY time we had to use it (ended up giving up and taking the stairs a few times)
For $180/night we could have stayed at one of Halifax's other beautiful hotels with less headaches.
Pros: good breakfast and great location. Easy access to all site seeing amenities & waterfront attractions. Professional, curteous and efficient service at front desk. Even the cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. liked the added security of needing the room card for the parking and the use of the elevator.
Cons: Lack of fan in the bathroom. Pool temperature was a bit too cool to enjoy.
Hampton Inn by Hilton Halifax Downtown puts you just a 5-minute drive from Halifax Citadel and Public Gardens Park. Guests can take a dip in the indoor pool or visit the fitness center for a workout. All rooms offer iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and free WiFi.
Pros: Great location !
Pros: Friendly staff. Fast and efficient maintenance assistance when we needed door locked on adjoining room which had been left opened. Bathroom toiletries were nice quality.
Cons: Bed wasn't very comfy and the pillows were the absolute worst (had ear and neck ache next morning). Felt like thin walls, especially when a crying dog woke us up at 6:30am.
Pros: Nice hotel, staff and breakfast.
Cons: Location is 8 blocks uphill/ downhill from waterfront. Walking the 8 blocks uphill back to the hotel was a physical workout. I would have preferred a hotel about 4 blocks or less from water
Pros: Location was fabulous with restaurants very near and close to the waterfront - a lot of Halifax is reachable by a short walk.
Pros: I loved the room, the location, the gym, the breakfast and the staff!
Cons: There is not a single thing not to love about this hotel!
Spacious guestrooms with free breakfast buffet, free wifi and free local calls with each stay. Mini fridge, sink, microwave placed in every spacious room. Perfectly located downtown, within walking distance to the World Trade & Convention Centre, Scotiabank Centre, Emera Oval and Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk. With far more space than the ordinary hotel room, our variety of one or two room suites allow you to stay in true comfort. Large windows with superb views, flatscreens, luxurious bedding and modern touches give your suite style. Made to fit you, your suite is guaranteed to feel like home.
Pros: The overall feel of the hotel was welcoming. Lovely facility and well maintained. Staffing was courteous and pleasant and very helpful. We loved the location and the fact that we could walk along the boardwalk and also walk around the city itself from that point. We were pleasantly surprised by a lovely bottle of Champagne in our room as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. As I said, the staff was fabulous.
Cons: It would have been nice to have had an option for breakfast but we were happy to see Starbucks on site and had our coffee and yogurt breakfast each day and saved the extra calories for a wonderful dinner in town on our walks. As for parking, it was an unexpected expense as we thought it was included in cost of reservation. As we found, however, in large cities this is common. Our car was safe and accessible and it was worth the money not to worry.

Pros: I especially liked the beds and the large room.
Cons: No free breakfast.
Pros: The staff are second to none.
Pros: We had a hiccup in our travel plans and needed to find a hotel pretty quickly for the night. Almost all the available options were too expensive or seemed a bit shady. We were very surprised by how comfortable the rooms and the beds were. And after several nights of chilly AC and stuffy air at other hotels, it was pretty nice to sleep with open windows. Redwood Grill was great for breakfast. Would have been nice if the check-in coupon was offered for breakfast or dinner (rather than just dinner).
Future Inns Halifax puts you within a 15-minute drive of Dalhousie University. After getting a workout at the fitness center, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. Pros: Room was very clean and cozy, just like a home away from home. Quiet and managed to get my work done. Had a lovely dinner in dining room. Breakfast was amazing
Cons: Nothing actually

Pros: Breakfast and parking included Liked the fridge and microwave in the room Updated bathroom Staff friendly and helpful Liked the information binder re: restaurants, etc. Location is great - great view and walked the trail in the back of the hotel
Pros: The room was great and the breakfast was pretty good too.

Cons: Pool was very small. Mattress was too firm for my taste.

Pros: Breakfast had a good variety of food. Great staff trying to keep the breakfast area clean.
Pros: The staff were friendly and there was a good variety of breakfast items.
Cons: The cleanliness in the room left a lot to be desired. Dirt in every corner and the room was generally quite 'worn'. As was the hotel itself. My daughter said she couldn't see underwater in the pool, it was so murky.
Cons: Just not as clean the curtain shears were very dirty almost black in colour!
Pros: Was very clean.
Cons: Only thing I didn't like was given them a incident deposit of 150.00 dallars. ,was given back at the end of my stay.

Pros: The hotel is modern, clean and in a great location! Great breakfast included!
Pros: The breakfast was great. The size of the suite was exactly what we wanted. Very clean.
Pros: Very friendly staff and location
Cons: Was not impressed about the dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door and the cup rings on the end tables. Was disappointed in this!
Cons: With the hotel being so nice I would think that you could at least put soft toilet tissue in the rooms instead of the sandpaper that was in mine.

Pros: the hotel staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful.
What a delight !
Pros: The location and most staff were great.
Food was good.
Cons: Rooms were not kept cleaned and aired, dust on floors was a bit tooo much.
Training (front desk) and attire (restaurant) of staff NEEDS to be revisited urgently.
For a hotel of The Lord's Nelson's supposed standing change should be readily available to its guests...I was told there was no change for a 100 USD! USD should be a currency you readily accept. If there is doubt about authenticity maybe a counterfeit machine should be employed at front desk. Train the staff.
Have reliable tour companies on call for guests.
Cons: I can not pinpoint anything that I can honestly say I disliked except I thought parking should be included in price.
Pros: Great value and service. Close to great places in Halifax.
Pros: Location is perfect, across from the lovely Public Gardens and within walking distance of downtown, university and harbor areas. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet was extensive. Hotel was very clean and beds were comfortable.

The location is great, centrally located. We recommended it to my brother and it is now their go to place in Halifax
Pros: This hotel is ideally located. Easy to drive into downtown or the water front. Also, just a short drive to explore the small coastal towns. Decent breakfast as well as a nice restaurant for dinner.
Service and staff are excellent. Front desk associate, Matthew, was wonderful. He spent over an hour on the phone to straighten out an error by our booking company that nearly left us without a room. He even got them to give us a refund. Such a pleasure to receive such superior service!
Cons: Breakfast can be a bit chaotic a busier times.
Pros: The location was very convenient for both spending time in the city and driving to coastal hiking venues. The breakfast options were very good, and the staff were very friendly and efficient.
Cons: Noise from other rooms was a problem. Conversations were easily overheard, and the sound from the television in the next room was louder than the (preferred) volume on our own television!

Cons: There were hairs on the sheets, chewed up gum on brochures left on tables, blood stains on an office chair. Overall, felt like for a room in a Marriott, we should have been given a clean room the first time. Even the third room had hairs in the tub, crumbs on the coffee table, and the carpets hadn't been vacuumed. We were very disappointed, as it was 11pm by the time we were given our third room change. The evening manager Celine was very apologetic and very professional, and we commend her for her effort to make our stay more comfortable. Overall, would recommend staying elsewhere for a fraction of the price.
Pros: Good location
Cons: No parking had to park 4 blocks down the road and breakfast wasn't well organized and not much to pick from.
