The location is excellent, and access to activities through the city was very simple. Staff is very courteous, rooms were well maintained and clean. The pool area had DJ playing so loud that it was hindersome in the room in the afternoon and early evening. Pool is rather small and not enough places to relax during early evening hours. The rooms were pricey for the amenities provided. Staying at the Marriott on the west side of the island offers more amenities, larger room and less cost. But after all, it IS all about location, location, location, and the Rennaissance has it!
There was nothing I did not like! Love love love the private island!!!!! Very contemporary hotel . Love it!!! Nothing
Great location in the heart of Oranjastad. Easy walk to great restaurants. Very clean. The staff were wonderful, especially Berlinda who helped us with restaurant reservations. There is no real beach unless you ferry out to the private island. The island is pretty, but windy. There were no beach chairs available and even more limited if you wanted one in the shade. At the Marina, there is a modest sized pool but no beach chairs available in the mid afternoon. There is music playing all day, so there is no place in the resort for peace and quiet except your room. The room was modest sized, but a bit dated. It was quite expensive.
The staff was friendly and remembered us during our stay. The room was comfortable and well equipped. There were many activities on premise which kept us busy, and the private island was beautiful. We enjoyed a couples massage and dinner for two package which was excellent. The location was right at a shopping mall and plaza with plenty to do, but it was further away from the main hotel area where the nightlife and many of our friends were staying. Taxi trips to meet our friends or go out started to add up over our stay.
Wait staff was slow and not attentive at the bar at the hotel.
"Island View" does not mean a view of the private island. The front desk told me this means an island view as in Aruba is and island and you can view it.
The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and attend to your every need.
Loved the location, type of people vacationing, the boat that leaves from the hotel lobby is one of a kind, the private island is so relaxing and beautiful, the staff is all friendly and eager to help, so glad we picked this resort! We had an issue with our room one night and the front desk assisted us with switching rooms.
I can't think of anything I did not like.
Large facility and parking lot. Though not cheap it was the best available price I could find during the high ''easter time" season. Big reception counter but only one clerk and a relatively long waiting line at the time of my check-out. Bed was made but room had not been cleaned.
Environment taxes that I did not find out about until the day of my checkout. I don't have a problem with paying taxes, I just don't like one's that I don't know about.
1-bedroom unit and amenities were more than adequate and clean. Infinity pool needs some maintenance. Tiles along side are falling off. Contaminated water at the end of our stay make a lot of people sick and staff was not forthright in dealing with it. As of this writing, they're still handing out bottled water. Not sure they handled this emergency well at all! Too bad.....
Location Needs a renovation
Nothing! No Wifi! To Loud! Cheap! Wants a $300 cash deposit!
I liked the new renevoted room it had everything and very specious. I like that they opened a pizza place the karaoke and happy hour. I would definitely go back there with my family. I didn't like the way I was treated by the front desk agent when I checked out. I asked to stay by the pool with the kids till 6pm and since the others left they forgot to leave their wristband so the front desk agent was rude to me telling me that I had yo bring them.
Staff is friendly. Can walk to grocery store Has not been updated in years. You have to walk across busy street to the besch
size of rooms - large with kitchen and living room needs updating - more restaurants
The room I booked was great, modern, clean and large. The resort is a little distant from ocean (need to walk about 200 yards) and the pools do not open until 10am with limited lounge chairs, but overall a very nice spotless resort.
Some of the staff were delightful and friendly, but the manager didn't offer any apologizes for the stained sheets. I asked for a late check in....why is that 70 bucks when my room was 120? I'm confused....so my late check out fee was waived...I check out two hours later...and no other corrections were made to make me feel better about this horrible experience. I have so much to say...not sure where to start. Oh wait - Don't Do It. This place is horrible and I'm pretty sure the worst place I have ever stayed and I've traveled to 40+ countries. The resort boasts about a renovation but this place is barely holding on. It's dated and the sheets were stained..I was transferred to another room...those sheets were stained. On top of it all, the place advertises free wifi but that's not in your room. Trust me, don't do it.
Pool was clean and fun for the whole family, especially the waterslide. Outstanding gym, beautiful equipment. Staff was friendly. Room is adequate, clean but plain. Overall hotel is great for the price but a bit rundown in places, not luxurious in any way. Very poorly equipped kitchen. No pan for oven, lousy utensils for cooking in general. We asked for an oven pan but was informed that they don't provide one, so the oven is useless.
the service , friendl
Nice beach across the street. I like having a kitchen to cook. Checking in was slow. We arrived at noon, we were told our room wasn't ready yet and to come back later. We returned at 350pm and our room still wasn't ready. We did not see many cars or other people around. The guy said "we don't let any one in before 4pm". Even though this was 10 minutes away, he said come back later. He was rather rude. The rooms needed updated. The grout was filthy, tiles chipped and cracked. The music by the pool was loud and poor choice for people of all ages. The older people hated it.
Very personal and excellent service Not at all
The location is fantastic and also the small kitchen at the room helps a lot specially when you have kids. The value for money. I paid too much for the room I've got. The rooms close to the recepcion ( the "C"blocks) are bad compared to the rest. Also the amount of taxes paid in the end are very high. So be careful with that cause sometimes the daily rates are unreal.
We had an amazing time at Amsterdam Manor the rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating. The beach was the highlight. It never gets too crowded and it so beautiful. Food was overpriced it wasn't that delicious
Friendly staff, quiet atmosphere, excellent beach, nice beach bar, excellent restaurant on the beach, efficiency rooms so we could have breakfast/lunch/snacks/drinks in the room, grocery store only a short walk away Nothing at all!
Beach was steps from the front of the hotel and there was always an umbrella, beach chairs, and towels ready for us. The happy hours were great. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we loved that the rooms had kitchens so you could grab groceries for the Super Food down the street. Such a nice addition. There is also a mini market at the hotel in case you need something quickly. More families than I had expected. The pool was used by children exclusively. The location has ups and downs - there is nothing to the north until the high rises so you are a bit isolated. It is nice because it isn't super crowded and it is intimate, but it also means you have to travel a bit to get to other restaurants and activities.
Small resort, very accessible to the beach. Friendly staff, good food and drinks on the premises. This is our second visit. We renewed our wedding vows on the beach and this was the perfect spot.
The good point was the location of the hotel, very close to the sandy beach. I did not like the service at all (very poor service at the beach bar, very slow service at the beach restaurant) they charged my credit card with the whole amount for the room on the day of the reservation, I.E. well in advance of check-in date (this is not a common practice for hotels) and tryed to make me pay additional charges when we arrived. I strongly complained and they admitted that they were wrong. No extra applied finally.
This hotel is outstanding - I contacted the hotel direct and upgraded to the penthouse suite, which was fantastic - would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
A beautiful beach, a luxurious room, a true getaway. Staff was attentive, helpful, yet unobstrusive. Just lovely spot. We liked that the hotel makes a real effort to be eco-friendly. Also, there is a mini-market on premises that is reasonable. Your service was especially helpful as I realized, at almost the last minute, that I had booked the wrong days. Just the noise from the dehumidifiers, so I turned them off at night.
The beach at Manchebo was the most beautiful beach I have been to. The sand was so soft, and the water was clean and clear. My fiance and I got a massage at the spa- a wonderful experience that I would reccomend everyone do. Overall- a GREAT place to go for a relaxing vacation.
great place peaceful
In bad need of refurbishment.Tired facilities and complacent staff.
Beautiful beach and very laid back resort. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere, not wall-to-wall people like the larger resorts. French Steakhouse restaurant on the premises is excellent. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Room was adequate, although a little tired. Spa was wonderful. Giorgios Italian restaurant was not good. Service was very slow and they obviously need someone who knows how to cook good Italian food if they are going to call themselves an Italian restaurant.
Manchebo sits on a large beach with plenty of chairs/huts per the amount of people staying at the resort. I was able to walk up at noon, and pick out a spot on the frontline. It was a decent walk to the water, but nothing terrible. Never used the pool, but it looked great. Best happy hour on the island! 2 for 1 drinks from 4 to 6. Very quite resort. They literally ran out of shampoo at the resort. Also, while we had a garden view room, the workers hung out in that area occasionally, leaving us little to no privacy. Thankfully, we didn't mind that too much, as we hardly were in our room for most of the day.
The restaurants are okay. Can´t be a 4-star!! I´d classify it as a 2-star, maximum. And for that price, you can really go for something way better. Didn´t like it all. The entire hotel is old, the rooms are old-looking, dirty walls and the beds are not very comfortable. Urgently needs remodeling.
This is an oasis in the desert with lovely garden and pools. The owner and stuff made our stay a wonderful experience. We are beach goers, this place is a bit away from the beach.
From the moment you step onto the property at Club Arias there are unique places to explore and friendly staff to help you get what you need. The owner, Arias, is full of energy and ready to do anything he can to make your trip a great one. I was traveling with my son. Arias upgraded our Room immediately and invited us to be his guests for dinner. We met so many other travelers at dinner. Club Arias offers unique ways to see the island right from your doorstep. There are ATV tours and snorkeling adventures to take part in right from Club Arias. Arias will take you on unseen parts of the island to get a real Aruba experience. I highly recommend giving Club Arias a try. Great experience!
The owners checked us in and were at dinner with us. If felt like they really wanted to know how we were dining and wanted us to be completely satisfied with our stay, which we were Their were cats and cat hair on some of the outside furniture and a little older hotel
it is a large home with a comfortable feel, beautifully decorated, peaceful and charming. Gaston, the owner, is very professional, as are his staff. Breakfasts very good. I enjoyed chatting with other guests as the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The disadvatage is that it is a long way from the beaches and other attractions, activities. Bus service fair. I rented a car, failrly essential, but found the driving nerve wracking. Roundabouts everywhere and poor (absent) signage, lane markings, etc.
Very clean, very quiet location away from the typical resorts. Breakfast was incredible, pool was relaxing, and the entire place was gorgeous. Can't wait to make a return trip. Loved everything...nothing bad to say.
I Loved everything about Wonders.it felt like home.the host is great as well.I am going back and bringing my friends N/a
Off beaten path but overall great place very helpful staff. And bereakfsst
I chose not to stay there!! Very dangerous location. Bars on all parts of the building. Looked like a city jail.
The room was spacious with a good working air-conditioner, the owner was pleasant and accommodating. He provided beach towels and snorkel equipment for use throughout our stay. The bathroom was clean and nice. The location is not close to the beach or to eating establishments. The area around the hotel was residential. A vehicle is highly recommended to get to the beach and eating establishments.
The layed back atmosphere and the accommodating staff. Beautiful garden/pool area. Very relaxing because of the atmosphere. Excellent breakfast (European style). Only stayed 1 night and wish we had stayed longer. Good location. Only wish we knew how lovely it was - we wish we could have stayed a couple more days. Next time FOR SURE!
Staff, size, parking
Wonders has a bed and breakfast atmosphere. We felt very welcome. Owner and staff make you feel right at home in their charming home. The breakfast is so delicious and filling. the owner aims to please all of his guests with any requests.
This hotel is beautiful-- it's well-decorated and inviting. The staff there help you in any way possible, and really try to make your visit an incredible one. It really has an authentic feel to it, but you have absolutely everything you could need. I loved everything about it. It's not an all-inclusive resort and it's located in a real neighborhood of Aruba (it isn't beachfront), but it's safe and we really enjoyed getting to see more of the 'less-touristy' side of Aruba.
Everyone at the hotel was so freindly and welcoming-- they really made our stay in Aruba a wonderful experience. The Ocean was just a short walk across the street, food was great and reasonably priced. We stayed at a high priced resort the previous week- this was a huge dissapointment-- the food was terrible, the staff barely spoke English and were rude and unpleasant.
The staff here exceeds expectations above and beyond. Christie was amazing and she would make anything you wanted happen. She easily handled 3 customers in her small office without any of us feeling unimportant. The location is wonderful if you plan to spend days at the beach as the front of the hotel is across the street from a nice quiet stretch of Eagle Beach (which is stunningly beautiful). The rooms are basic and comfortable, but don't stay there if you want a lot of adventure right out your doorstep- be prepared for easy bus rides up and down the west coast or info Oranjestad for about $2.60 USD/AbFl. It's a no extra fluff, fantastic for families and people wanting a comfortable home base for adventures kind of place. We loved it! The room required the AC to be on at 22C the whole time (even when out of room) to prevent condensation. It could get a little chilly at night! The hotel restaurant was good but not so adventurous, and it did take a bus ride or a 40 min trek to some more interesting eateries.
The beach... Not really a resort-like place. Good for what we needed, a place to lay our heads at night until it was time to move to our timeshare..
Very clean, Tao the bartender is awesome and Natalie is nice too. The location is great. Nice view of the ocean and not as crowded as the high rise area. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was good. The people in Aruba are very friendly. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable. Mandatory fee for breakfast which we never ate, rooms not very well insulated, so difficult to sleep through the night due to noise.
Close to the beach Very difficult to find. Especially at night. No real directions to the hotel on website. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
The friendliness of the staff - they wanted one to "feel at home."
MVC offers a great and hospitable alternative to the lage resorts. Seems like a riveter piece of paradise. The furnishings in the room could use an update.
Get a first floor room. Open your sliding door and your toes are in the sand. Drinks and food are decent. You will not go Hungry or thirsty. Lots of different options for snacks and food throughout the day. We loved taking long strolls on the beach. It's awesome that you have access to the Divi. Typical routine includes getting a drink at the bunker bar, walk down and sit by the pool to people watch, get a new drink (and maybe some chicken strips), continue the walk down the beach. Nice 10 minute walk to the divi... By that time you are ready for a new drink, grab one at the first bar. Continue the walk to the divi pool and beach area, people watch, lay in the sun, listen to a live band, grab another drink and take a stroll back to the Tam. Lots of activities. Book them early so you won't be directly in the sun. We did a snorkeling/snuba trip (booked at hotel). I would highly highly recommend. We did the ATV tours and it is by far the best way to see the island. We went to the natural pools, natural bridge, an old gold refinery, and a really neat rock formation. We went downtown. And it really only took us a few hours to get a good experience. We took a cab, which was fine... But we regret not using one of the hotels bikes to ride down. We aren't horribly athletic so we didn't want to commit to a bike ride downtown in a different country. However, we drove along a really nice, flat, bike path leading directly downtown... Wished right away we did the bikes. The Spa was awesome! We did massages and a body wrap.. So relaxed. Do not bring pants... You will not wear them. Bring some nicer shorts for dinner and you will be fine. Girls, sundresses and bathing suits... No need to get too fancy. always bring extra sunscreen, expensive to buy on the island. We had to leave. Palm grill was our least favorite restaurant... But fun and worth doing once.
Snorkeling was great! Loved the ocean views Drinks were reeeeeeeeeeeally weak Wife got food poisoning
The room we had looked fresh and clean. All the appliances worked. The free WiFi was fast. The room had no smell , the A/C worked well. The balcony was adequate with a nice view from our room. The hotel was in a good location close to lots of amenities . Considering the price we paid . There was nothing we did not like about this establishment.
This place was the best decision I could have made. Not only was the bed and breakfast beautiful, the breakfast was above my expectation. Ingrid the hosts was extremely friendly and surprisingly helpful with everything. If you stay at the fuego mio you should rent a car because it is far from most tourist attractions.
