Very friendly and supportive owner, does everything to make the guest feel comfortable and at home [ex.: he waited for my arrival until 5am to check in!!!]. Room equipment reasonable, clean, better than you could expect at 2*. Excelent price/quality ratio. Very picturesque town, great location, great area for walking, biking and relax.
The guesthouse is located in a nice small town, which is very quiet in winter. The guests of the hotel get the door key which is the same for the room and the outside door, so they can feel free to leave the hotel and get back at any time of the day without the need to bother the guesthouse owners. The hotel owners don't speak English very well, so it might be difficult to communicate if one doesn't speak German at all. International credit cards are not accepted but there's a bank office nearby. One more small thing - the guests don't get shampoon or douche gel, only a small piece of soap.
very nice staff. some times speed of internet connection was bad.
It was all perfect! All is brand new, high tech, design... just perfect! The breakfast can be improved (just a little bit...).
Quiet, good to relax wellness closed
Very comfortable new equiped hotel. Large rooms, perfect localization. Very quiet, very good restaurant. Very good staff. lack of air condition
Very nice hotel also our dinner was outstanding!
Service; friendliness of the owners; Free Internet access N/A
The hospitality of the staff and the picturesque area
Staff was friendly and so personable that we will definately return. Everything was fine.
Very good standard of room, friendly service.
Owners are very hospitable people.
very good family hotel, excelent price, very comfortable
Everything was fine. Very nice people.
Very charming and helpful staff. Lovely little hotel and a truly charming town that I would recommend for someone who wants to see what Bavaria is like. A very short drive to Bamberg, an amazingly beautiful city. Nice, simple breakfast with good coffee. I wish there had been coffee in the rooms... a small point.
warm aqueil, very nice position, wonderful flowers arrangement, yard and terace, very good attentive services. no
A small quality Hoel in a "picturebook" town run by "quality" people The town is a devout Catholic area, and the load Cathedral Bells rung in the dark at 6.00am and 6.00pm are not conducive to "sleeping in"
Staff, & Hospitality Poor shower
Pleasant room with balcony, and was away from traffic noise as requested Unfortunately on the day of our arrival the restaurant was closed that evening. the hotal staff recommended to go to a nearby village for our evening meal
It was a wonderful Hotel with charming Owners
This is a lovely, well appointed, nicely furnished hotel. The bedroom was clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. The restaurant served excellent food including many local dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. There are country walks in all directions that begin in the square adjacent to the hotel. We have already recommended the hotel to friends and hope to revisit again in the future.
The hotel is centrally situated in the town. The owner waspolite and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was more than adequate.
Very nice room. Extremely quiet. Wonderful decoration. Breakfast ok. Space for the car. Nice little town (there is a splendid church), near from the main things to see in the area (Pottenstein, Teufel Holle...) No A/C. Curtains are too thin. It would be better to put up shutters. (the light might wake you up in the morning). You have to use an intercom outside the building to call the person who will make the check-in. (Make sure not to come too late !)
comfortable beds, good breakfast, lovely town
It was situated in the middle of the village with restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood. We just stayed one night because we were passing on our way further south. It was difficult to find.
The hotel was very pleasant and cozy. Owners were very helpful and nice. Narrow access and parking just added to the charm. We were visiting the hotel in mid September and the room (in the attic) was a little bit cold, sometimes colder than the outside weather.
The location was very interisting. It was a little far from Nurenberg, but this small village has a very interisting old castle and a very nice church. The landscape war also very very beatifull.
Help of the staff, location near rockclimbing places, english speaking staff (rare in the area) Room was very basic and the bed was kind of youthbed, not for two adults, Toilet and shower is in the hallway. Church bells are ding donging all the time also night time. You can also hear the car trafic from outside.
The best thing about the hotel was staff, their hospitality and the breakfast. The beds were quite uncomfortable. My back was aching during the whole trip. Also the blankets and pillows were too big and unergonomic.
Very comfortable 1930s style bedrooms. Hotel stuff is very friendly, helpful and caring about their guests. The bells from the nearby basilica woke me up at 6 in the morning
Value for money Room in annexe too far from main hotel, and hotel too close to very loud bells in town basilica.
This hotel provide very good service in relation to money. The village and countryside/region is amazing.
The hospitality of the owners.
The personal approach of the owner
Fantastic location, excellent car parking facilities, very friendly staff and excellent food. Will stay here again!
Once inside the hotel proved to have some charm, although the outside lacked obvious appeal.
Close to the main town. No one spoke english. But the were very friendly and tried to understand our questions.
older people may have problems climbing the stairs. view from room bad.excellent view of castle from eating area outside restaurant.excellent parking.excellent location.
The staff was excellent! Very accomodating to almost all of our needs. Made for a great little weekend trip away from Grafenwoehr! The hotel restaurant was closed before 8pm on a saturday night. We didnt like that. Made it difficult for dinner.
The price, the town, the food, the landlady. The bed in room 4 is horribly bad. Didn't sleep much due to the sound of bad, squiking bedsprings, which kept me awake all night.
Very kind and pleasant staff at the hotel. A smell of warm cooking oil spreads from the kitchen inside the hotel. They should find another way to ventilate this. We had dinner at the place, rating cca 4 on a 1 - 10 scale. Advise: don't use industry made frozen french fries, and work with the courses to improve taste. Maybe reduce the number of courses on the menu. Re. recommendation, I say yes and no.
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The biergarten was so pleasant with a great view of the Pottenstein Burg. The double room was actually quite large compared to many European hotels. Also, very clean. Parking was ample and right on site. As mentioned in another review, there was a smell of cooking grease in the hallway, but the rooms were airy and pleasant.
