location cleanliness of room; small rooms; toilet and bath;
Very comfortable beds Very loud building plant somehwere below.
The hotel's location was great - in a beautifully historic cobbled avenue, just opposite a metro station entrance and with lots of restaurants and city sights nearby. Parking was rather difficult. Only a few spaces available for guests, otherwise you take your chances on the street or in one of the underground car parks that are 10-15 minutes' walk away.
Good location, with easy parking - big plus in Brussels. Bit noisy at night - our room could have benefitted from double glazing
itś comfortable and fine possibility for the whole family no
near Metro... and many public places
We only stayed for a night but I can say its good. The only complain is that when we arrived our bookings is not finalized. On the day of our arrival that is the only the time they got my visa card. What if there is no room available for us? Where will we stay at the last minute?
The location was great - right on a lovely square with cobbled streets and lots of good restaurants. It was also easily walkable from the Grand Place and there was a Metro station in the square. The staff were also very helpful. We didn't realise that we would have to sleep on a sofa bed - we walked and thought 'where's the bed'?! Other than that though, the apartment was nice.
Lovely room, great central location, five minutes walk from grand place. Staff were a bit rude but it didn't really matter as we didn't deal with them at all
I was walking distance to the centre square. The fact that we could not get into the hotel until 3.00pm.
Friendly and easy to use. a) Thought the price was too high for the type of hotel and its brand. b) Bathroom could use some refurbishment.
The transportation from and to the airport was great. The breakfast wasn't up to my liking. I did not get tea to drink and there were no vegetables such as cucumber and tomatoes served.
Neat and efficient
It was clean and people were helpful. The doors make a lot of noise when tey are being closed. It would be great if there was a way from keeping them more quiet....
I enjoyed the fact that I only stayed one night... Internet not working, TV not working, the phone wake up call rang one hour before the time set-up, but mainly I didn't enjoyed the fact that you could hear all sounds from the rooms next to mine.
Relaxed atmosphere and quiet. Good airport shuttle service and helpful staff. Evening meal service was not offered in the restuarant.
proximity to airport shuttle was ambiguous
It was clean and comfortable and close to Airport
The people at reception were extremely freindly and helpful the hotel advertises that it offers a hotel shuttle bus to the airport which is one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. However space was extremely limited and it could only accomodate 2 people each hour. This resulted in people booking the bus and therefore it was necessary and expensive to have to take a taxi to and from the airport.i feel this is false advertising and it was extremely frustrating to find this out when arriving at the hotel and have to incur unexpected expenses.
The people at reception were friendly and efficient. The hotel is run down. The TV and Internet were not working and could not be fixed while I was there. They charged 15 euros for parking and are located a long way from the airport in an area with ample parking. This extra charge is completely unreasonable.
Complaint about a broken light bulb fastly dealt with. Very pleasant stay. The fact that internet on the computers in the lobby was not easily/freely accessible for checking emails or train departures. A slight inconveniance...
Great location. Only 2 min. walking distance to the Grand Place. Nice area. The pool was great, we used it every night. 2 saunas, VERY relaxing! Open until 10pm. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to help us figure out where we were going and would call taxis for us. The rooms were nice, the pictures on this site do them no justice! Nice bar area and bartenders, open until 1am! :) Would definately stay again! Only wifi and certain rooms, had to use lobby area to get on the internet. Very expensive to use. 10 euro for one hour and 25 euro for 24 hours. The beds were a little to hard. Beckfast was WAY to expensive. 15 euro per person per day. They over charged us for the room by 100 euro. But once we mentioned it they quickly fixed the problem.
Very near the city centre, 2-3 mins walking distance
Very centrally located and close to Grand Place.
The breakfast, the room, the pool, the videogame at the lobby were very nice. There was a line to take the breakfast. We had to wait about 20 minutes to have a seat.
Location of the hotel is excellent, as it is near the metro as well as Grand Place Towels had holes in them and bed linen was not clean
Good sized room with comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. I was disappointed that the pool was too shallow to have a swim - probably more of a splash pool.
I like the location, value and cleanness of the Hotel.
Great location. Modern facilities. Spacy rooms. Good value for money.
nice hotel for a city-trip, kids enjoyed swimming pool though it was very small
It was easy to find at it was placed in a perfect area, close to everything - Metro was round the corner as well as the central station. The area had a lot of very good restaurants just next to the hotel. I would stay here again if i had to go to Brussels. No
breakfast carpets were horrible. worn out carpets and smelly furnishings made my stay a misery. I could not breathe in the room without opening the window. worst hotel room I have ever stayed in an European country
friendly staff + atmosphere, good breakfast, clean room, no-smoking policy it was not possible to pay by credit card, apparently the machine was out of order. Also the public transportation (bus) is 2 blocks away.
Personnel service oriented at reception. Location of the hotel in whatit looked like a gheto area.
It was nearbij the place I had the meeting!
Friendly staff, good selection of restaurants and bars nearby Limited parking
well run hotel, friendly staff, comfortable quiet room at the back, excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast with large choice at 07.45, breakfast included in week end rate very small wardrobe like a cupboard, air conditioning noise even when switched off !
The king size room was very impressive and the facilities in the room was good. The staff were helpful and friendly. They resolved a billing issue I had in a very positive way. Many of the advertised sports facilities did not work or were broken. This is a shame as it lets the hotel down a little.
Natalie at Recdption was most friendly and helpful. On the Monday morning bread was in very short supply at breakfast. When I requested some bread (all of the baskets being empty at 9.40) I was given two rock-hard scone-type rolls which were an off-putting grey colour. There were no drawers in our bedroom for clothing. The bath was very slippery when showering.
The receptionist was fabulously helpful There was a bit of a lack of welcome in the lounge bar, so we chose to eat elsewhere (the gentleman on reception was extremely helpful in suggesting alternatives!)
The room was very well kept and beautiful even though there was not much of a view. The beds are extremely comfortable - I slept like a baby. They provided a cot for our baby to sleep in with a little teddy bear as a gift to her. They go above and beyond what a client expects which is something I always look for in service anywhere I go. The only thing I can suggest is for the front desk people to be a little friendlier/open. They are in everyway very professional but there should be that extra put in there to make you feel comfortable like a smile. Otherwise in general, everyone there was very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would also suggest a bigger elevator.
That they helped us booking another hotel. They have two types of rooms. We went with the four of us and two people in our little group got the older room (we all payed the same). The difference between rooms is like night and day. The older rooms are really small, look old and the shower had a smell in it like somebody urinated in it. Of course we went back to the check-in counter and there they said that are rooms were full and it was not possible to give another room. Talking to the woman behind the desk was like talking to a mute. She did not respond to anything. I thought she was looking to help us out and after fifteen minutes of saying nothing she suddenly said "Can I help you?" I Really felt like being in an episode of Fawlty Towers. I can recommend not to book here.
Spacious rooms, facilities and location Pay for wi-Fi, staff could be a bit more friendly.
Does not reflect publicity that is make in Internet
spacious rooms, this time very nice staff (not always in the past), very good breakfast, good restaurant, excellent location iron in room durty at bottom but they gave us a board and good steam iron instead
Staff was very friendly and helpful, cared and really took interest. Great for resting between layover, quiet neighborhood. Limited shuttle service, had to take a local bus from the airport, fortunately covered with several lines.
Pleasant small middle category hotel nearby Brussels airport. Rooms are small but pleasantly furnished and quiet providing excellent sleep comfort. Ample parking and park-sleep-and-fly arrangements possible with airport shuttle service. As it was a public holiday, the restaurant was closed! I had to find a restaurant in another hotel nearby in the pouring rain to get a bite to eat for dinner.
location, free airport shuttle, price, bad ventilation, smoke smell in the hallway of non smoking floor, no available room to exchange, even though staying 3 nights
Clean room, shuttle to the airport on Monday, and they gave us adjoining rooms since we were traveling with our daughters. We got there on a weekend when their shuttle did not run. We had to take a taxi from the airport and a 5 minute ride cost us 20 euros. Also, they had no food available and the hotel is not near any restaurants etc unless you have a car. The breakfast was way too expensive 16 euros per person.
close to airport cleaners kept entering my room before check out time
sleep When stepping out of the elevator, a direction sign with room numbers will be an improvement
Close to airport, shuttle service, very reasonably priced. Small, but clean and well-appointed room. Wifi was spotty. Shuttle doesn't run between 9:15 am and 6pm.
Reception staff cleaners banging your door with vacuum. Restaurant staff very bad
it was very clean and quiet, push Very isolated, use it if you are transiting through Brussels, the receptionist wanted to insult me more that to serve me, the man that serve me lated in in the evenin was much nicer. very cold attitude generally
Closely located to the airport ,Thon offers free of charge very prompt and comfortable transfer to the hotel .The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely reccomend it .
Quiet room with a comfy bed, modern, clean bathroom and tea making facilities. Didn't eat at the restaurant but the breakfast was pretty good. Free airport shuttle- we were picked up within 10 minutes of calling the hotel on our return. Good value compared with other hotels near the airport.
The hotel is located in the town of Diegem, near the Brussels airport. The hotel is located about 500 meters up a slight hill from the Diegem train station. When arriving at the Diegem train station there is no public transportation, taxi service or shuttle to the hotel.
In the centre of the old town and very close to good but expensive restaurants. Also 2mins from grand place and shopping street. Rooms over priced but clean + comfortable. Good 30min walk from eurostation but Metro station just behind hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast Expensive room rate on weekdays. Not a bargain holiday. Room for 3 is a camp bed arrangement in a 2 bed room, so quite squashed with little floor space and inadequate wardrobe/ draw space for 3.
The perfect location
This hotel is located very close to Grand Place and to Brussels-Central Metro station. The staff was very helpful. The rooms are clean ans have modern furnishings. We would stay there again. The Internet connection, Breakfast and the Restaurant were too expensive.
Location, hotel decor.
Very quiet despite central location Streets around it covered with garbage. City workers on strike?
Very good location, close to Grand Place Easy to get there from the airport
Near the center;the kindness of the staff;price worth
Location The internet connection because is paid.
The staff and the type of room. In spite of my request there was no glutenfree breakfast
Space of the room plus bathroom facility, free internet connection by reception desk, helpful staff plus the facts that they remembered my previous stay and ensured same quality of room was provided to me
Booked it for guests, which seemed very pleased with the quality of the hotel compared to 4-star hotels which we usually rent for them. The only marginally negative thing is not to underestimate it's closeness to Louisa/Louize. It's about 20 minutes walking which isn't pleasant during rainy days and the tramline on the street is incredibly hectic.
The spacious comfort of the room, with its separate toilet from the bathroom. It was difficult to make the coffee maker work as I didn't know about the on/off switch at the back of the machine. It would be helpful if that information could be added to the instruction booklet.
beds were comfortable, staff weer helpful and food was good the airconditioning did not work on any of the 7 days we were at the hotel, it was stifflingly hot, bathroom wasn't ventilated, we asked 3 times if anything could be done
The very helpful staff, the cleanliness, the size of our room, and the general ambience of the hotel I think that the breakfast was too expensive for a cold meal. Also there was no variety we spent 10 days with the same choice of 2 different cheeses and 3 cold meats. Also we had to pay for the coffee taken in our room.
Excellent staff, nicely presented, food excellent
Kindness of the staff, the size of the room and the bathroom - very modern and enjoyable. The minibar is cheaper comparing to other 5star hotel The standard breakfast is poor - It costs 25 euros and you only get miniature croissants and bread plus the hot chocolate was only made up of water
Its convenience to the city centre and nearby shopping streets as well proximity of transportation. They do not have a lobby its more of a waiting area
You don't even get the second foot in the door before you're greeted by friendly and welcoming staff waiting to attend to your every need. The breakfast (if you choose to have it included) is a fresh, healthy and great quality variety also with impeccable service and choices. The rooms are adequately sized and the beds and pillows are quite plush. There are slippers and robes for your added comfort and the tea selection in the room is great. The bathrooms are fully equipped and have a very modern and Chiq decor. Room service was a bit costly (as it is with most hotels) but this was because while the quality of the food was great and fresh, I really didn't enjoy the flavor. It is conveniently located between the trams and close to the Brussels midi station. Also, on Rue Louise there are all the major high end brands for clothing, jewelry, shoes and perfume, there are chocolatiers and other typically European magazines. Once you head out the revolving doors of Rue du Châtelain, and turn right, you will see that there are many cafés, bars, bistros, and magazines (shops) along the way. The cuisine is mainly, Italian, French and English, and there are Asian restaurants and a conveniently located liquor store to get your Belgian beer. There's also a food store further down. In the opposite direction, about a 30 min stroll away, there is the European Parliament, and the Grande Place that hosts many of the museums, a must see is the Music Museum, and a must have is the Belgian chips/fries and waffles. Hopefully this helps! The dinner I ordered in room service was not a good taste for me.
Everything - the room was fine, staff were all very helpful, friendly and courteous, the breakfast was excellent. The only minor fault was that there was no alarm clock provided in the room, although this was listed in the hotel's information details for the room.
Everything is ok for this price. The only thing that I don't like is it's being a non-smoking hotel. Of course that's not a big problem, because everyone knows that smoking kills you.
We attended the nearby Bruxellensis festival and the location was ideal The double room was a good size for two people and despite being at the front of the building, noise was minimal The staff were friendly and helpful A good solid local hotel Breakfast was plain but filling In our opinion the pillows and beds were too soft The water pressure in the shower and taps was too low More options for breakfast would be better
wifi internet access
personel can not speak english well enough breakfast was late I could not have breakfast during my stay
the location is good and we can get move around town with no problem nothing specialexcept for the phone was not wroking in my room
The young man at the reception was very nice. The place was cleaned and close to tram. Ok for a night or two. There were very few TV channels that worked, most italian and french. The flow of water and the hot water did not work properly in the 3rd floor. The internet was unstable. A very modest 2 star.
nicely located in a back road of st-gilles's chaussée de charleroi, room very spacious and quiet mattress not very firm, tendency to meet each other in the middle
Good location, very nice designed rooms.
This is small hotel, probably family owned, with excellent staff. There is not much fuss here - you are simply left to get on with your stay without complications. The breakfast is good, the rooms clean and comfortable and there is satellite tv in each bedroom with a good choice of channels, unfortunately not many English channels :-( but we weren't there for TV and my partner is German so she had a good few familiar channels from home to watch. Not really, perhaps directions on the website could be a little more clear in stating on which street the hotel is located and the hotel could do with a proper sign to identify it and make themselves a bit more obvious.
Great location, though very difficult to find initially. Exceptionaly access to the commercial street and within comfortable walking distance of the Grand Palace Square and lots of great restaurants. Clean and cosy, good value for money. Ignore the sign on the back of the room door and don't hand your key into reception each time you leave the hotel. I did the first time and the coding on the key was wiped as they thought I was checking out. The key then had to be coded again and it was annoying for both the staff and myself.
The hotel is closed to Metro. It is also walking distance to shops and restaurant. The room is spacious. The hotel does not have an elevator. The faucet is not working properly. The room needs renovations.
cheap hotel close to the city centre, well connected with the city transport, friendly and helpful personnel, clean room no lift, wifi only in the hall, noisy surrounding (at least from the side where my room was located)
The triple room is large. The bathrrom is clean and Some staff are not helpful. The stair to the room is small and narrow and there is too much noise from outside
The room, bedding and bathroom were very clean. The location for sights was good and the price was excellent. The stairway was very steep and narrow, hard to negotiate with luggage. The street of the hotel was not very nice at night.
The bath tub was great. Pity the bubbles did not work though. The room could use a bit of technical maintenance.
quiet area with basic hotel amenities functioning well: heater, hot water etc. I also had a spacious room (double room for single person). Breakfast starts at 8a.m, which I consider late. 7.30a.m would be better. Light on the main desk is dim.
Heating was good, the beds were clean and comfortable. The room and furnishing was very basic The room was not cleaned at all at the second day: not clean towels, not leave trashe bin ect. - nothing! But the staff ask for payement even before seeing the room.
central location the stairs are too narrow, no lift but luckily only 3 floors
Although this isn't a luxury hotel, everything was there that we expected to be there, it was clean, comfortable and cosy (great value for the price), the staff were wonderful, very freindly and went out of their way to help you. While not in the centre of town it was easily accessible by metro about 10 or 15 mins. It was lovely waking up to the view of the basillica every morning (which was literally across the road from the hotel). Perhaps a kettle in the room, a couple of cups would have made the stay even better. As the hotel faces a busy street it does get noise during the night but it didn't bother us, even though we were on the first floor.
The couple who run this place are the really nice friendly and will do pretty much anything for you. Always willing to help with anything. Location is great, next to elizabeth park and some big churchy thing that looks nice. Only a couple of stops on the metro and your in the town centre. Great warm and friendly place, would recommend and go again.
The friendliness of the staff.
friendly staff, clean rooms, WI-FI The noise of the main street, the small technical inconvenients, not solved in due time, the price for the standard (but fair enough for Brussels).
This place is not exactly the Ritz but for Brussels it's fairly well priced. The staff were extremely helpful and all in all it was a good hotel. However, if you're expecting some flashy modern place with all mod-cons, then you'll probably be a tad disappointed. I'd stay there again.
We had a really nice view from out hotel room. It wasn't in a very busy area so it was relaxing. The family at the hotel were very helpful and easy to understand. It was a walk to get into the city centre. We did make it in after about half an hour of walking but it took some time.
Good possibility for parking, easy access.
distance of centre ..
The hotel has just been renovated. The hotel is almost in front of the great Basilica of Brussels. The hotel is 20 meters from public transport with brings you to the historic centre of the city. Free Internet is not negligible. The room was very clean.
Hospitality and family atmosphere offered by owners of the hotel to clients. Very nice service. Room provided with TV and multiple channels. Feeling of security. Possibility of using internet. Hotel surrounded by the Park, very close to Basilique Nationale du Sacré-Coeur and also to Simonis station. Hard to find,. Good quality - good price.
room veiw was fantastic panoramic veiw over city was awesome breakfast was super every thing you could want quite a long walk from grand place
Spacious room, great views across the city The bathroom fittings are very 1970s. They could do with putting in better shower units
High floor, quiet room
The deal was great, staff good, breakfast nice and great that it was included as most Brussels hotels don't include it. The location is good, easy to get to and in a nice area. I would not say that the room we stayed in was 'luxury' or 5 star, although it was comfortable and clean. I think the staff may have been overworked/understaffed during breakfast service as it was difficult to get coffee and refills. The price of minibar items is terrible - 7 euros for a bottle of water (which is the same as a bottle of beer).
Comfortable rooms, view from 15th floor, excellent breakfast Queen delxe plus room - it is not standard for 5 stars, it is 3 or 4. Bathroom was small, TV was old, shower was on the wall, not portable, without massage mode. Baths was for children, not for adults.
Service was very good, it was clean and quite luxurious.
The staff is great! They know me well by now and pamper me. The executive lounge was very dirty. Glass tables looked as they had not been cleanec in days! The service was much too slow. First time it was that bad.
The service and Location was perfect. I expected more though especially that I got equal service in some 3 star hotels in Europe. I got equal service in some 3 star hotels in Europe. Therefore, the value for money is not worthy. I have asked the reception to give me a late check-out for an extra hour and he refused which made us leave the hotel early and stay in the Airport for an extra hour.
the place (louise) such nice place.
The hilton standard quality
The hotel is central and well located. The staff are efficient and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Other hotels in the same area offer the same or better accomodation for less money. Private bathroom had bath, shower but no curtain. For the sake of a few Euros they could have put in a curtain and rail and I could have showered much easier.
close to centrum first floor is noisy
The bed was good.
The price, the breakfast and the localization The elevator wasn't so nice!
Staff was friendly.
Location No shampoo
Excellent location near Metro and restaurants Lack of kettle and supply of coffee, tea, milk sugar and sweeteners
Proximity to meeting venue. It was not clean, there was a bad smell in the room generally, particularly in the bathroom, lack of towels, no tea/coffee facilities, no shaver facility, occupants noisy throughout the night, very high traffic noise.
The location is very central and we could see most of the city by walk The room given to us was too small to qualify as a double room and the bed in my opinion was also not big enough to be called a double bed. i had definitely expected a bigger room
The breakfast - it was really good!! That the shower had only cold water and it wasn't very clean - also was two floors above us.
heating system in the room
The warm welcome from the receptionist when we arrived and checked in. The location. The rooms are to hot and there's no way to change that besides opening window. When I called reception the staff were neither helpfull nor polite. The restaurant staff could not handle the amount of guests.
staff, rooms and atmosphere in the restaurant and bar the web site says it is just 9 km from Vilvoorde, but it was long time to get there by car
Staff, Breakfast buffet. No swimming pool etc
very convenient location (North Station +close to underground). Very nice+ helpful staff. quite respectable+ spacious lobby, bar, etc. No fridge in the room. No iron. Room more like ***hotel.
Free weekend parking in Hotel,Not far from city centre 2 min by car. The Breakfast cost 20 Euros, I chose this hotel to enjoy spa,not worth. There is no chairs to relax, there is no proper changing room. For 180 Euros You can find better 4 star hotel .
There was no AirCondition.
Good location to the city Was not informed that our room would not have an air conditioning unit. It was 90 degrees in Brussels during our stay and they only provided us with two fans. It was extremely hot and very uncomfortable, when I filed a complaint they couldn't move our room until the very last night and only refunded me $25.
Felt it was a 3 star hotel
The rooms were very nice and comfortable
Wery nice, komfortable, good food and service, quaert hotel in centrum hectict city. We like it!
The 'romantic package' secured us a very good room for two nights in a first class hotel for a good price. Breakfast was poorly organised and choice was very limited. The garden is lovely though.
Staff was not helpful, beds were old and not comfortable at all (had two rooms to try since the first one had brown water in the bathroom since it wasn't used for a long time).
Hotel facilities detail has incorrect information. According to detail when I book room, Wifi is available with additional fee (6.95 per day). However not only wifi, internet connection (LAN) was need additional fee. If I've known LAN connection was not including room charge, I was not book this hotel. This is totally incorrect information. Hotel must disclose not just wifi, even LAN connection require additional cost. If this was on hotel detail, I NEVER HAVE BOOKED THIS HOTEL.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of three nights at the Stanhope. It was a convenient location for walking Brussels, and enhanced time there. The staff was great and accomodating of our needs. We loved our room which was spacious and nicely appointed. The only semi-negative thing I can say, is that the bed was quite soft, which was not good for someone with a bad back like me. Also, we asked to have some food heated up, and they said that they would send someone to take care of this for us. They forgot, and we had to call a second time.
Very fast and efficient check-in and check-out, room small but comfortable and well-equipped. Minor point : coffee-making facilities would be useful
very clean room bit costy
One can count on the quality of the staff.
The interior decoration is very pleasant, rooms are quiet.
Close to EU Commission offices pillows too soft
the hotel room design is great,it provides a fantastic atmosphere of luxury
Atmosphere was perfect. Nothing.
Very pleasant hotel in a good location, with staff very willing to provide advice about what to see in the city.
Their willingness to please us. We were first placed in a room that was too small for 2 persons, but after mentioning this, the owner changed our room without hesitation. The rooms are decorated very uniquely with authentic world-wide country themes.
Room designs live up to their descriptions but the walkways to get there are tiresome and awkward. Overpriced for what is on offer, there are better deals and better locations for the money. If you like to be in Egypt etc when in Brussels then this may be the place for you.
Excellent, imaginative presentation. Very friendly staff. Great location. Highest of recommendations.
We received a very warm welcome in this hotel that just oozes charm and personality. Recommended to anyone who wants to sample a taste of Brussels while escaping sterile hotel chains !
The rooms should have been catergorised our room was great but friends room was very small.
Very nice oriental design, original ancient things are used in interior. Jacuzzi is in deluxe room. Also very good breakfast. Wonderful family atmosphere. Not comfortable pillows and mattress. Bad odour in toilet, need regular disinfection.
Metro stop just outside the front door. Location in a bubbly city area, full of horeca. Good bathroom, good bed. Nice breakfast area. Interesting room design - my room on the top floor even had its own staircase to a litte loft with a sofa. Light switches could not be operated from the bed.
The room was very unique in its decor and the breakfast was quite good. The location was excellent and very close to many good restaurants.
Originality, very beautiful bedrooms, confort, nice staff The breakfast could be beter
