i thought the hotel staff were excellant, they were really helpful and welcoming, the rooms were neat and clean, just what we were looking for and the location was perfect for where we needed to be.
The rooms were very small . Too cramped .
friendly staff nothing
friendly staff. the room was not very clean and the shower didn't work very well. The decor was really dated and the room was badly finished.
I have never had better service! Upon arrival, I was greeted by "Mark" who carried in my rather heavy bags, then offered a cooked meal and wine/beer! The room was immaculate, and the accommodations overall were very welcoming and comfortable. The hotel itself is under new management, and it's currently being upgraded. Everything was perfect!
They were very accomadating once they found our reservation. Very helpful in helping us get around the city and how to use the public transit. The rooms were very cramped and did not seem to be finished in regards to decorating and painting. For the price we paid we did not feel that the rooms were up to standard
easy access to edinburgh bed wasn't very comfy lack of meals available only breakfast no luch or evening meals
The staff were friendly and welcoming
The onley positiv is car parking. The staff were unfriendly and were not very helpful. The hygiene standards were disgusting.
Very friendly made me very welcome Enjoyed my brief stay suggest that some non alcoholic drinks made available Special thanks to the young lady receptionist who was going to Kirkcaldy and offered to take me there as I had no transport that was really appreciated Thanks bob lines zimbabwe
Nothing. AVOID THIS SITE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Size of room - only 3x5 open area where beds weren't. TINY bathroom (3/4 bath only). Doors were hollow wood - not secure or sound resistant to noises in hallway. Mouse Maze to get to room with many short steps. TV size of a small laptop with not much channel selection. No climate control - only what the window would allow. Lighting minimal and only 40 watts when at full strength (Very dark). No glasses in bathroom. Toilet paper holder broken. Parking - not even wide enough to fully open doors between other vehicles. Not enough spaces - had to park on street/sidewalk overnight. Staff not very friendly. That covers most items.
It was all a bit run down really and although we booked our breakfast for 8.30am there was no one up in the hotel to provide it until 8.45am! Just seemed a bit unprofessional and not very clean.
Good base hotel with friendly staff & service
the attentive and friendly staff and attetiveness to ensuring all was well for us No problems
The food was of a high quality, very tasty and of a good price. Service was to a high standard.
Great hotel None
The location at the foot of the Ochil hills was superb and handy for Stirling city centre. They need to pipe music into the bar area to break the silence.
Very attractive place to stay. Clean and comfortable.
The food was very well presented and very tasty There was no mirror in the bedroom area and not quite enough light at the bathroom mirror
The venison was out of this world - fantastic! The staff were also fun and friendly - had a super time in the bar! No hair dryers was unusual, however, must be common here as there isn't one at the Holiday Inn either!
Right from the hard working lovely staff to the shower, the whole castle was lovely. The room was in keeping with the surroundings and was very please to see a clean bathroom. The evening meal was well worth the money and would certainly go back again. The floor board were a bit squeaky but that cant be helped so was aware when walking over the floor.
Alistair and Alieen were just lovely, Made us feel very welcome and had made up a handy list for taxi numbers, restaurants ect. The room was lovely and warm for us coming in and was beautifully decorated. My partner and I will be using them again.
The welcome was excellent. Bed was comfy and I realy got to relax after a stressfull day of meetings. Would definatly visit again and recomend to others.
Very nice rooms little hard to find
was amazed was top class for price paid .we WILL be back thanks n/a
The owner is very friendly and helpful. There is a pub within easy walking distance, and the room was warm, clean and a good size. It is a fair way out of town, but not a problem if you have a car.
Freindly staff, good meals, very clean & comfortable rooms No
The staff were genuinely very friendly and the food in the bar was above average & reasonably priced. Our dogs were made most welcome. There was no bath only a shower and had booked executive double room but was given twin on arrival and was told most rooms are twin but the room was really big, clean & comfortable so we did not ask if there was a double available with bath.
Excellent room. Great food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Great hotel for a stop over. One of the best hotels stayed in this year.Great atmosphere
the rooms were very nice & the staff were friendly
Comfortable nicely decorated rooms. Convenient for my meetings in Falkirk. Food was overpriced and not very good
Clean and tidy. With very helpful staff.Very good breakfast. Will be staying here again.
Good size room and good food No bad points
Comfortable and near to athletic stadium Food could be better, eg kippers were over microwaved not grilled, did me at the time
Facilities excellent and the staff far exceeded my expectations for looking after their guests I would certainly use this hotel again and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
the warmth of the welcome, flexibilty when we were late and no grumping at us!, the wonderful cosy fire and bar, wonderful food Everything was perfect - thank you
The owners were exceptional - Jim a 'first rate front of house' man, Doreen his wife an excellent cook. We were made to feel like long established friends rather than first time paying guests. We fully intend to return and are recommending Davaar unreservedly to all our friends. Everything was just right
Easy access to Edinburgh Airport, St Andrews area, Perthshire
Very beautiful and comfortable. You have the attention directly from the owners; they are very kind persons. It has its own parking. It is a bit difficult to arrive,
Homeliness; nice paintings I needed a bigger desk and chair
Very nice One of the reasons for choosing the hotel was the menu. But this was not available on the Sunday we were there. They explained that the website said this was the case for sundays - but I can't find it spelled out clearly.
helped out well on questions, friendly atmosphere
Huge rooms, very, very clean. A warm welcome from Doreen, Jim and staff. The lounge is so comfortable and we felt very much at home. Dinner was absolutely superb, Doreen is an amazing chef, Jim an attentive host and Jack's sense of humour made for a very nice evening. Breakfast was excellent, just sorry we couldn't stay longer.
Beautiful view and lovely town. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. No lift, so might need to consider if you can't carry your suitcases up stairs.
Easy to find, stunning views and bars has great food & atmosphere
We arrived very late in the hotel but the staff received us very friendly. The room is small but with everything you need. And our room had a little balcony. The view to the railwaybridge is stunning.
nice comfortable hotel My wife paid the bill .They charged here 130 pounds although the internet price was 79 pounds, including breakfast.I noticed this error when I was already on my way home.
really cute hotel in S. Queensferry, only 15 minutes from airport, excellent cafe with great views, free wireless, excellent shower, super helpful staff standard room was small and without view, bed could stand upgrading, no elevator (but ok considering good rate).
Great setting with vies of both bridges from the bars The budget rooms look onto other rooms windows as they are between the old building and the newer building, also parking is either on the street or on a free car park a few hundred yards away.
Excellent Service all round. Fantastic rooms
Good location. Meal options and menus good with great views from the restaurant and bar. Cooked breakfast was good. No choice of cereal, fruit etc for breakfast. Room looked out to street side of property so no real view.
Fantastic view of Forth Rail Bridge from bedroom and restaurant windows.
Excellent staff and service with the location an added bonus, the manager Craig was a gem and so helpful, the food was wonderful and made our short stay so pleasurable,we are contemplating booking for either Xmas or New Year. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff. P.S. the new lounge bar is brilliant! If any fault can be levelled why oh! Why did you not double glaze the room windows at the front rooms of the hotel.
Staff were always pleasant & helpful. Generous breakfast. Weekend party in function room below room until midnight with disco!
Staff were great
Proximity to Callendar House and park; friendly staff; excellent breakfast; free parking; free Wifi Rooms a bit old and tired, but still comfortable
The breakfast that was included was very good. It included hot and cold dishes and drinks. The hotel was quite noisy. There was a wedding on while we were there, and as there is no fan ventilation in the room, we kept the windows open for fresh air. The wedding guests and their celebrations kept us awake until the early hours of the morning...not what you want after a day of driving and a full agenda the next day. Interior noise was also a concern.
I liked the fact that it was close ot the centre of Falkirk
It was well placed for the centre of Falkirk and easily accessible to the roads network for travelling elsewhere. No, it was fine.
Excellent staff, food and location. Rooms spotless and fresh. Nothing was too much trouble.
Good value 3 course meal at the restaurant nothing
My room was modern, with good amenities and seemed recently refurbished The bar and reception area's are tired and in need of refurbuisment - they did not do justice to the room standerd's
Excellent chef . Can't possibly do dinner at £10. Feeling that Tommy Sheridan might appear at any time
We had booked a twin room yet when we arrived they had put it down as a double. They weren't applogetic at all didn't offer any compensation, even when we showed the booking confirmation. Simply they said they didn't have one available.
Nice and quite, very good staff we will return again, andagain. Nisbet C.Dalgleish.
Pleasant staff, pleasant location. The sheets on our bed had clearly not been changed since the previous occupants had used the bed. The bottom sheet was crumpled in and we had to brush hairs from it. If we had not been so exhausted, we would have asked for a change of room or bedding. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable.
friendly, good food.good room, pleasant location no lift
A friendly hotel with a pleasant bar and a hearty breakfast A plethora of warning signs - many of them totally pointless. My room had an faint odour reminiscent of the days when smoking was permitted and was looking a little tired. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Previous experiences in different rooms have been better.
Breakfast was first class and lots of it Bottled water in rooms Dated, old fashioned decor of rooms. No shampoo in bathroom, just a bottle of shower gel.
Excellent food, wine and service. Very helpful and courteous staff. A very beautiful setting. Crumbs in the drawers of the dressing table and a rather uncomfortable bed. A later Sunday breakfast availability after a long and tiring day at a Saturday wedding would have been appreciated. Tennents lager and a wider screen television in the lounge would have been a real bonus.
the view from the hotel was fantastic bedroom needed updating
Good staff and food. Very friendly atmosphere. Good enough for us to stay on the return trip on Saturday 9th October. Some redecoration needed in a few areas but rooms was good.
Friendly and helpful staff. Food was average. Sea view and bridge was very good. Rather far from the town centre. The sea front pub half-mile away is the nearest call place. The overall atmosphere can be improved somehow, make it a happy hotel to stay in. Everybody seemed very quiet and the guests wispered even to their own children. It needs livening up a bit.
Location, friendly and helpful staff
very convenient to the train (steps away). very thin staff during breakfast - one very over-extended person to serve breakfast and process guests checking out.
The blonde lady who served breakfast (and most other meals). It was the opening day of the Ryder Cup and she kindly set up tables in the bar for breakfast so we could watch the first tee shots. Top service!
The fact that they had read my notes on my booking, the very friendly staff and the food was pretty good The only thing that was a dissapointment was the fact that they advertised as a real ale pub but only had one ale on. They did have bottled but these worked out very expensive
The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to assist me during my stay. Parking can be difficult but the car park at the nearby Railway station can be used if necessary.
Friendly welcome, comfortable room, owners Scott and Illona very helpful and keen to please, great food. Easy train access to Edinburgh and a great spot to get back to after a day in the city.
friendly helpful staff
The room we were given was in a small annexe in the courtyard and we had our own front door which mean as we were attending a wedding, we did not have to disturb anyone in the hotel. The cooked breakfast was good. Lack of ambience in the hotel itself. Although it is only a small hotel in a small village, I felt there was a lack of welcoming feeling in the decor, etc.
A very pleasant hotel to stay in, only 25 minutes by train to Edinburgh.Lovely seaside village.
Breakfast very good (nice bacon)
The staff was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! Couldn't be beaten. The bed was comfortable and the room was very nicely and cutely decorated. Free Internet!! The room and linens had a distinct smell of cleaning product trying to cover up a cat smell. The shower curtain was plastic and wouldn't stay down and blew around during the shower.
Quiet and good breakfast Room service very expensive
Helpful service e.g. checking in early and putting my baggage in the room. Also helping us to the car with wedding presents on the Sunday. No.
The rooms were nice and bed very roomy, which we like as we have a superkingsize at home! We were a bit disappointed with breakfast, service could have been better!
we were annoyed by the fact that the spa was closed for refurbishment and nobody bothered to tell us about this, part of the price we paid was for the spa and that was the main reason we booked this hotel. the staff seemed unconcerned and told us tha facilities had closed sooner than expected. am sure they would of still had time to make phone calls to customers advising them of the situation. i would never go back. it totally spoiled our evening
We attended a wedding in the hotel and we were allocated a lovely room with an enormous bed. it was great.
Staff welcome very good. frienliness generally was good Noisy guests in corridor - happy chatter, but ladies can be noisy(post wedding ?). Otherwise - no problems.
the room was very comfortable the choice and quality of food was excellent
this hotel was terrific very helpful reception staff great staff in leisure & fitness centre brilliant hotel very relaxing ******highly recommended*****
The pool and steam room Service at breakfast, need more staff to serve at tables and fill up the buffet
Excellent rooms, fantastic food. Great location and very quiet rooms. swimming pool and spa were very nice and close to reception. All staff very helpfull and meals were good. I will be staying there again.
Nice Health Centre, and helpful staff Health Centre members monopolate parking spaces nearest reception area.
Didn't have time to use the full hotel facilities / equipment
really liked the view from the room and the spa facilities were absolutely fantastic really nice swimming pool and jacuzzi etc wasnt overly impressed at the food in the restaurant based on the prices but very much enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and had a very pleasant stay
Very friendly helpful staff
The hotel was very clean and friendly. The resturant menu was very small and being a fusy eatter I would not eat of there simple foods would have been ok, however breackfast was lovely with a hugh choice of varietys
Staff pleasant and helpful. Showers in pool changing room could be better. Taps that stayed on rather than having to constantly hit the tap would be appreciated.
Very comfortable clean good sized room. Good leisure facilities. Very good food. Friendly staff.
just being able to relax and there was no rush with anything , all the staff were really god and very helpfull.
Modern, clean - garden room bathroom Bedroom smaller than anticipated
Good selection of food for breakfast. Friendly staff. Good sized room with comfy bed. Pub next door. Say no more. n/A
I like Premier Inns, as they are rather basic, but have all you need for one or two night's stay. The only thing that did annoy me, was that the hotel seemed to have some sort of a block on the signal to my iPhone. This meant I could not use my helpful apps to locate nearby places of interest, etc.
The welcoming, friebdly receptionist, cleanliness and comfort of the room. The premier inn was bery near where we were attendinng a wedding. The breakfast was very good.
We were attending a wedding at Airth Castle It was as ideal location
Accommodation was pleasant, excellent breakfast in restaurant next door. Needed your car to travel anywhere.
Very accessible easy to get to Very centrally located. No Safe deposit box in room.
Good staff Hotel is a bit tired
Easy check in. Access to hotel at any time of the day or night. 12 noon check out was helpful after a late night the evening before The description of the hotel as "Falkirk North" was misleading. It's more like Kincardine.
Very comfortable for a budget hotel, Very friendly and helpful staff good value for money breakfast choices unfortunately there were not many local amenaties, the nearest cash machine also charged a fee requiring a 10 minute journey by car to obtain a bank affiliated ATM
Location Trying to find the way up a one way street
Peaceful room, Friendly staff, Excellent breakfast.
everything was just fine.
The Golden Lion is perfectly located 5 minutes from the train, and at the heart of Stirling. There was dozens of pubs, restaurants and shops to keep you entertained, the room and bathrooms were clean, and the staff were lovely and had no problems holding my bag until check-in time. I was even able to squeak into a top-floor room with an amazing view over Stirling and of the surrounding hill-side - spectacular! While the exterior and main floor are exquisite and inviting, the hotel rooms left a lot to be desired. The beds were comfortable enough, the bathroom was functional, however it is out-dated and has an off-colour that doesn't come out from years of use. Luckily it was big and spacious - a great break to stretch your legs after a busy day.
Comfortable and relaxed. Parking was a bit tough.
Preis in Ordnung No Internet access in the room, no smoking rooms.
location room was small. generally looked a bit tired
Very often a long wait to be served at the bar as it was one of the waiters who kept coming through from the restaurant to serve drinks.
The food was good in the bar. The lobby is a little shabby as are some of the corridors but for the money I paid this is not unreasonable
Receptionist extremely helpful Very small room, was under the impression that there would be a bath. Evening meal very disappointing; ordered roast which was supposed to come with roast potatoes and was only told there were none left after it had arrived. Gravy very lumpy and meat very chewy. Only one large towel in room.
Location, price. Car park needs better signing, and information on how to get the barrier moved.
