9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice village, good breakfast and very good jamon.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very tasty breakfast, great atmosphere of an old Spanish tavern/hotel. The room is decorated in a local style, so it gives quite an interesting atmosphere and helps to connect more with the town. Also, great owners, smiley and very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Family run with very pleasant staff and food was excellent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all very helpful and friendly despite some language difficulties but we found we had usable French in common! The secure parking was ideal for my motorcycle. Room was comfortable and clean, and contrary to other reviews we didn't have any problems with noise, though maybe because it was early in the season.
Cons: The dining areas seemed a bit dark and old fashioned, and the menu was rather lengthy and complex which didn't inspire confidence. We would have preferred a shorter menu with less choice, though the pizzas we had were fine. Town was a bit quiet at night with limited eating opportunities.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was exceptionally good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Antonio responded very fast to my request of travelling with a pet, and was really kind upon arrival.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Great base for exploring Ronda and the Pueblos Blancos.
Cons: Slow WiFi in room but good elsewhere.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast and evening meal. Very pleasant staff
Cons: Shower screen difficult to get in and out of bath
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Family atmosphere. Rural hotel , seemed genuinely Spanish. Fabulous location. Delicious food. Friendly staff.
Cons: Our room , number 12, overlooked a bar that was noisy until the early hours during the weekend.

Pros: The hotel privately owned is as exactly as the boss describes it, no expense has been spared on the rooms with a large very comfortable bed, the location in the heart of a very vibrant beautiful village, there are more bars per square inch than Benidorm , and the locals know how to enjoy themselves , an Artists dream with surrounding country side and mountains, if you want English breakfast and English television go to Benidorm, If you want the real Spain Disfruta
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the spacious room and pretty street, and we had a delicious meal of the the best quality ingredients. the surrounding countryside is beautiful and this is a part of Spain to explore in all seasons.

Cons: No breakfast on Sunday!

Venta Julian - El Bosque - Bedroom
3
8.9 Excellent (154 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Venta Julian in El Bosque (Sierra de Cádiz), you'll be a 4-minute walk from Visitor Centre of El Bosque and within a 5-minute drive of Botanial Garden El Castillejo.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very easy to find the hotel right along the main street through El Bosque. The room is small but large enough for a short stay. The balcony was a pleasant surprise. Down stairs is a busy restaurant which is the prime business for this establishment. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. Although the hotel is right next to the main street it was quiet during the night.
Cons: Early in the morning there was quite a lot of noise from a small cafe across the street serving very early breakfast guests. If you plan to eat at Venta Julian it is recommended to carefully investigate what time they serve food because each time (except for one breakfast) I tried to eat there the kitchen had just closed or was closing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, if slightly noisy. Very clean. Quiet and safe. Felt very private, even though it is next to the owner's home. Good shower. El Bosque has some amazing hikes nearby, worth having a look!
Cons: Would have been better to have a double bed instead of a twin room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My favourite option in the Grazalema region. Very helpful owner, good facilitoes incluisng fast wi-fi; very clean and in a good location. The restaurant downstairs is great for breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: Easy to reach
Cons: I had a lot of earwigs in my room. I guess it's because it was getting colder and they are looking for a warmer place, and go inside houses. Altough something you would not like in your hotel room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location with ample street parking nearby. Cold at night in winter but extra blankets available. Reasonable Wi-Fi coverage. Helpful staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: situation was good, a lot of restaurants near by, parking near by.
Cons: The hot water not very hot and the water sometimes stopped running and then started again. Only one bedside lamp worked. No plugs near the bed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A good and friendly place to stay when you explore Sierra de Grazalema. Very friendly owner family, clean rooms and a good resturant. On the backside, as it is everywhere in spain, it is inefficiently soundproof. But go out and walk up El Torreon on a blue sky day and you will sleep like a baby of the effort you put in and the memories of the stunning 360 view of Sierra de Grazalema. All in all a good value for money and very friendly place to stay in El Bosque.

Cons: Sorry, perfect for me!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners and beautiful location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff turned out to be kind and helpful. We could put our bikes in a safe place and they helped us find a taxi.
Cons: At first the staff seemed not so nice, but it was probably shyness as they didn't speak English.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excelent staff, family mainly and a very good restaurant with local flavour
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the place in general. It was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would love to go back there again in the future.
Cons: Can't think of anything I didn't like
4.3 Okay
Pros: First impressions good - then discovered problems. Room nice but noisy
Cons: WiFi very poor. TV didn't work (pixelated, kept freezing), breakfast not at all "fabulous", room cold and noisy, shower temperamental.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, pleasant area to sit out front. Bed was not generous in size and not that comfortable. Only one bolster pillow which was uncomfortable, no spare pillows. Mini fridge in room, although no water in it. The room did have aircon which did work efficiently. Sat inside for dinner, although it was still a bit cool inside! Sat in the bar which was pleasant, as the dining room was open but empty. Same menu served in both. Food was ok but not fantastic. A bit disappointing.
Cons: Not as good as we expected. Unfortunately not particularly comfortable and food was ok but not exciting. Pleasant staff and nice location, easy for parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s the second time we go. The place is lovely and the staff really nice. The restaurant they have is a must when you are there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very quiet, we had good attention from the friendly staff and we enjoyed the fact that the locals came in to eat and drink. It felt less like a tourist hotel and more like part of the community. El Bosque was a lovely village with oranges and lemons dripping from the trees that lined the streets.
Cons: Minor things like a light bulbs that needed replaced and we couldn't get the fridge to work but that wasn't a problem for us and if we had asked I'm sure the issue would have been addressed.
Cortijo Huerta Dorotea - Prado del Rey - Bedroom
5
8.6 Excellent (390 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Appealing rural accommodation situated in Prado del Rey, an attractive terracotta-roofed and lime-washed village nestled between Sierra de Grazalema and Los Alcornocales nature reserves. You can choose from the cosy Finnish-style log cabin accommodation or the inviting double rooms located within the tradition Andalusian farmhouse building. The hotel grounds boast a restaurant with a fantastic varied menu, a bar with a terrace where you can admire views of the nearby sierra mountain range and landscaped gardens with an outdoor pool. A perfect spot if your are looking to relax surrounded by beauty and nature. For the more active, the area is great for activities such as walking, canoeing and caving.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, dinner. The surrounding area. Great location to visit other towns in the Sierra de Cadiz.
Cons: The rough road to get through the entrance, although this can be avoided through another route (Prado del Rey).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cabins were amazing and really clean
Cons: Loved everything couldn’t not like anything at all
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is stunning and the local food delicious.
Cons: cabin was very cold, heat escaped up the fireplace. Living room small and not suited for 4. Service was not the best, it was either overbearing or not existent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food at the restaurant was very good and we'll priced too. Staff were friendly. Cabin was clean and we'll maintained. Very good location for visiting the nearby towns. Prado Del Rey was 30 minute walk from the Huerta.
Cons: Nothing not to like really, only thing I'd say is be prepared to wait a few minutes in the morning for breakfast as there was the one individual serving. I'm more than sure that during peak season they would have more staff on
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is great but more fitted for weddings and other big parties. We had the feeling being the only guests. Perhaps in full summer it is better.
Cons: It was clear that they were just opening for the season. Very little staff, works going on, the swimming pool not yet clean, etc
9.5 Excellent
Pros: our family has been visiting for over 15 years and it the experience is always lovely
Cons: cabins need minor repairs and updates
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Log cabins are lovely and my children really enjoyed sleeping on the mezzanine. Having a fridge in the room was useful. The food at the onsite restaurant was great and the pool is a good size.
Cons: No tea and coffee making facilities which was a shame as the cabin had a sitting room and terrace so would have been lovely to enjoy an early morning drink before having to head down to the restaurant or elsewhere.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The log cabins, the fireplace, the food. Great location to visit nice towns in surrounding area.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quietness
Cons: Poor access to internet.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and convenient
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb setting with lovely views should you have a room away from the road. There was a door and window opening on to a delightful terrace from which one could enjoy the views. The room size is good; bathroom is a little tight but well designed. It is clean and we had a Queen bed. There is a desk in the room; a large mirror; hanging space; drawers and room for our suitcases. Parking out the front is no problem. Wifi worked well. When showering, water came pouring out from under shower door on to bathroom floor. There were absolutely no issues with this place thus I could recommend it for a stay.r. Apart from the shower and tightish space in the bathroom
Cons: When showering, water came pouring out from under shower door on to bathroom floor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, the room size, the restaurant. they had available towels for the swimming pool.
Cons: It wasn't said the swimming pool was public, and no deck chairs available for it. But it wasn't a big problem. Only part of the rooms have terrace, I suppose you mus't ask.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The little house we stayed in was amazing, private and peaceful but close to the pool. The views were incredible. Kids loved seeing the horses from the neighbouring field and the wild rabbits. We shall def be returning with them. The staff is also really friendly and ready to help and answer any queries.
Cons: Nothing really the only minor thing would be to perhaps have a telephone to communicate between the house and the hotel. Other than that nothing really!!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable, our friends room at the rear of the hotel had a nice balcony, with a beautiful view.
Cons: The restaurant / cafe was closed for the duration of our stay Saturday afternoon to Monday morning, we managed to get the receptionist to make us a coffee on the Sunday morning, but not even that on Monday. We requested a quiet room, but were situated on the roadside of the hotel above the carpark and despite the hotel being less than 50% occupied we had noisey guests on the first night and on the second night guests that departed at 3am after an hour and a half of packing, showering hair drying and furniture moving. There was a sound of running water, which was a broken toilet in a cleaners room attached to our room, I turned the water off to the toilet after some hours.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nature
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good restaurant in the hotel

No coffee/tea in the morning even if you are willing to pay. Dining room full of flies. Could not use pool table - staff gestured "No cues" though 4 cues stood in a corner 2 meters away.

Cons: The room was facing the pool and it was a bit noisy sometimes.

Cons: SEE PREVIOUS
7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel very very clean..
Cons: No breakfast No lunch No dinner!! Although huge kitchen.. Huge dining room 120 covers.. Staff in kitchen but no food available?? No coffee or any drinks available until midday? Bar shut they said at 10pm but shut well before then. They should also explain that large swimming pool open to public.. We're talking about 100 people arriving each day we were there.. may have reduced to 50 people on our last day!! Bonus...
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: The lady at reception kept raising her voice due to the lack my lack of understanding of Spanish. She also was trying to tell me I don’t have a reservation and suggesting I cancel my reservation on booking. Com. Restaurant was never open.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were extremely rude. The lighting in the public area was turned off at 9pm & it was difficult to find our room. We arrived half an hour early having driven for nearly 2 hours. The staff grumbled & said that rooms wouldn't be ready for half an hour although the carpark was empty & there was no sounds of cleaning. We were shown a room & payment was offered but they couldn't change the 50€ note. They didn't want to see our identification. We returned an hour later having gone into town for coffee & to get the change. We were hardly through the door when once again payment was demanded. Unbeknown to us, we were given a master key instead of a normal room key. We were then accused of using that key to change rooms without permission!
Cons: A better, more welcoming attitude would have changed things greatly
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place we can name "in the middle of nowhere" ... but ... is good to rest after whole day visit "Pueblos Blancos", this is quiet place. The room was quite big, clean and fresh bathroom. A women in reception can't any word in english, but she is very nice and helpfull. She gave after check out a bottle of wine :)
Cons: The pool is very dirty, looks like not use many years.
5.5 Okay
Cons: Cold no food or beverage
