Fantastic hotel with good location and sufficient space. I've been very disappointed by the mattress state. Every night;, i have backache due to the too soft and old bedding. It has been reported to the reception but they just added a wooden plate under the mattress instead to replace it ! The breakfast was a little bit confusion as well...
We booked this hotel for a luxury stay (expected from a 5 star rated hotel) but were very disappointed: bathroom was not clean, dinner-buffet was awfull (no choice, cold, too expensive), old-fashioned pool-chairs with dirty pillows, ... Totally not worth 5 stars!! Stain on fame of Marriott!!
Relaxing ambience, without a lot of people Staff could be a little bit more friendly, some of them don't have experience
Nice rooms with Marriot standart confort. Bad price quality relation. Room price is too high compared with what is offered. Food is expensive and there are no alternatives near by (Peniche is 20 minutes away). Not even a playroom for children.
comfortable rooms, central areas and fitness/indoor swimming pool.Helpful stafflocation next to beautiful coastline poor main courses in set price evening buffet.Poor choice and poor quality - dried out.
The silence, the ocean... The animation service, the hours for some animation (Ex. spining).
Good breakfast. Fantastic sea view and green surrounding the hotel. When we got back to the room after having dinner, we found our bags had been scrambled around and some pieces of clothing were left to the floor. Someone had been messing around our luggage, though nothing was missing. Not a good welcoming treat in any case.
The rooms were beautiful and clean, the beach was excellent. It was very close to Lisbon and surrounding points of interest. Also great if you're a golfer. Hotel staff, particularly the outdoor bar near the pool. Only one staff member was working this area, and with only a handful of customers, it was painfully slow to get a drink (ie 20 minutes and then only with a reminder). No apologies and no welcoming atmosphere. It was just like Trip Advisor comments we read prior to booking......
Hotel facilities are very good. The staff acts properly for a 5* hotel. For a 5* hotel the breakfast buffet could be better
The kitchen facilitys were excellent, the bathroom was super, My wife especially liked the beds comfort. The entertainment facilitys were very good, especially the TV. The resteraunt was first class.
Stunning concept. Fantastic interior design. Very nice staff. Great golf course. The site is not ready for guests. Restaurant is a canteen. Construction of all the main parts is ongoing. Noise and dirt all over. We decided to move elsewhere, because the atmosphere felt like a mix of Westworld meets teenage horror movie.
The accomodation was first class. Luxury townhouse for the price of a standard hotel room. Being a new resort, facilities are currently very limited.
Finest contemporary architectural style, Superior and exceptionally equiped. (1) I convinced a friend to also make a reservation and the next day he got a better rate (2) Bicycle Rental was publicized in the web site but not availabel. (3) Gardens are not ready yet and therefore you have no privacy.
Warm friendly welcome. Basic service/facilities but perfectly comfortable and at this time of year it was a real bargain.
The surroundings provide a good variety of experiences, either the beach and the ocean, or the lovely mountain vistas and walks.
The beach access and the view, and the breakfast bread. the wind pounding on the windows, had to have the blinds down so it would not make noice (it the windows was hitting the windowframes).
The staff / owners? didn't speak English or French but they seemed to be nice people. The location is good next to the coast. This is a very very modest place to stay so the value for money isn't correctly established in our opinion. The room was humid and cold although we were there on july.
Cleaniness of rooms and hassle free stay plus proximity to beach. Took a while to organise wiFi
I liked the location of the Recidencial O Forte, the sea views from my room were excellent, the owners were friendly and very helpfull, The food at the Master Cook restaurant was to die for, highly recomended. This is not a dislike only a comment, I would have liked more choice for breakfast,
Hotel is very attractive inside with beautiful staircases and decoration, a credit to the owners. Great view from the balcony over the river and beach. Really friendly owners made us feel very welcome.Super cafe just 200 yds away overlooking the sea. Only problem was pillows were too hard.
location is excellent.Owners/staff were very friendly.
Residencial O Forte is a cosy hotel, with a familiar feel, run by a very nice couple, which was always very helpful and friendly. We stayed for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, the breakfast was simple but enjoyable and the location is perfect. If you don't plan to use the car, you have two beaches at walking distance. If you have a car, you can go 10 Kms south and enjoy the wonderful beach of Santa Cruz. For people who have problems with moist, the location near the sea makes it almost impossible to not notice it, even inside the room. This may be a bit uncomfortable for some.
Family run Hotel very helpful and friendly our second stay in this good value for money hotel
The room was like brand new, all the appendages were in pristine condition. Very modern, very nice. There is no 'onsite' car parking, there is a hotel car park, but this is an underground facility around the next block.
Very nice hotel, modern design, very clean, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast (choice and breakfast quality definitely exceeds Portuguese average standards). Nice surprise was that the hotel even has a garage available for its guests. Good value for money!
Although had to leave early the next day and was unable to have breakfast, the hotl prepared a nice box with some bread, cake, yogurt and water. Room was very nice, lots of room and stylish.
The cleanliness of our room and the breakfast two separate beds
Large and modern room and bathroom (bathroom a bit dark though), offering value for money. Reception was friendly and helpful on one side (made telephone call for us), although on the other side it was not possible to have an early breakfast, while another group did have early breakfast when we arrived at the breakfast room (might have been communication?). Cental location in Torres with nice view and good spacious parking facility at very close distance. They offer an excellent dinner. Very poor isolation: every word and laughing of smokers and taxi drivers outside can be heard until deep in the night (but church bells stop at night). No English news channnels on TV.
New hotel with modern design!
The cleaness of the room and the fact of being a remodeled hotel. Excelent location in the city center.
Clean and quiet. Friendly staff. No minibar in room.
the hotel was wonderful. located centrally in Torres Vedras it offered clean luxurious rooms along with beautiful little bars and a fairly decent restaurant. step outside its doors and experience the lovely little town of torres vedras which allowed one to absorb a real sense of portugal. the torres vedras park was lovely for having a stroll or enjoying a nice run. i had no complaints about the hotel, it was lovely!
Excellent Continental Breakfast. No English one though...
Good location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff.
Location was excellent and the choice for breakfast was superb. Also availability of garage for car.
Good location, staff helpful, "knight design" silly
Enjoyable visit, hotel was somewhat over the top regarding the historical theme however very comfortable, ideal for visiting Obidos and staff were very helpful. They really need more signs on the the road directing you to the hotel
Hotel ideally situated for exploring the Silver Coast.
location, free parking, breakfast medieval theme carried too far
This is a beautiful little hotel, very cosy rooms with a quirky medieval theme. The staff are very helpful and friendly and its in a perfect location only a few meters outside of the castle walls. The pool is lovely to relax by after sightseeing. All in all a lovely hotel and a lovely town to spend a couple of nights in.
It's a great hotel. Great medieval decoration. Nice and helpful staff. Perfect location! No.
Being in the center of Obidos
Perfectly acceptable beach hotel. I was there for only one night as I continued my tour around Portugal. It provided a nice way-station.
The view was perfect. We had a great room with balcony. The breakfast staff was poor and to young. They didn't know how to handle it.
Nice rooms, ocean view Rather far to Lisboa.
Right on the beach Very noisy from the sea when windy though. Quite basic but then only 2 star.
Thw seaview was fantastic.
Close to the beach and sea view from the room
Excellent position overlooking the beach.
nice lobby area, internet use so kids were happy the pizzeria was abysmal. the male staff were rude, ignorant, rough. order did not come as requested. got many mosquito bites. felt sorry for the young lady who worked there as she was nice. food wasnt too bad
You can see the sea in your room All was wonderfull
Fantastic, there is a huge window with open views to the sea and the beach is very beautiful, the room is a little old fasgioned and so is the bathroom but it was worth every minute. The breakfast was also veery very good. The furnishing in the room was a little old fashioned and the bathroom needs an urgent renovation, veru verey low sink. But worth the experience.
Location is perfect, but in such a small town, any place would be well located.. Great breakfast, with huge portion of scrambled eggs.. It's a pity though they refused to make fried eggs for me, even though they prepared fresh eggs for every person separately. Just scrambled eggs available apparently :) It was difficult to breathe, especially when you just got in. It is an old place, and the air circulation is definitely not the best. It was the first place ever that I had problems breathing. Also, the whole hotel smells like varnish, due to something they use to clean the floors - whenever I smell such strong smell, I always think the staff of the hotel want to hide something. One more thing, the hotel was built to be a convent, but it never actually became one. I wanted to stay there because I've never slept in a convent, so I was a bit disappointed to hear the real story of this place. Oh, and I am incredibly suprised it is a 4-star hotel.
Very beautiful and classic hotel. Friendly staff. There is no heater in our room. It could be very cold at night.
It was close to Obidos, very clean and staff was friendly. Credit card machine was not working and had to pay in cash
Overl style of the hotel was very good and the room felt rustic and beds very comfortable. Only down side was the smell of drains that wafted up through the bathroom over night but did confine itself to the bathroom. Breakfast very good value and the waiter (who speaks 7 lanuages and has worked over Europe for 17 yrs) was very good and friendly. Smell of drains in the bathroom on the odd occasion.
Conveniently located for Obidos and surrounding area
Lovely facility in a great location!
Too many insects, flies and mosquitos.
Large rooms. Wonderful history. Ideal location for seeing the castle and walled city. A little difficult to find at first but that added to the fun.
This is a very special place. It is an old house well decorated in an old fashion but very nice and with avery nice ambient and relation with the personal. No, no comi alli por lo que no puedo decir nada de la comida....
Beautiful rooms, good location, pleasant helpful staff. No broadband connection
Location and Hotel ambiance and facilities.
Very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I'd have no hesitation in going back again (and may possibly be for 3 days in July). I'd also have no hesitation recommending it to family members or friends. The staff were great- very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Very narrow gates on the way in? If you have a big car it can be difficult manoevuring. Very little I didn't like about the hotel- it was quite delightful staying there.
Quiet, clean, spacious, modern facilities with traditional country decor, very close to the charming medieval village of Obidos.
The friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the hotel and view. I especially liked the amenities available, including the pool table, the computer available to guests for internet use free, and the pool. The property is more beautiful than the pictures on the internet.
good location, nice room and pool, very friendly staff
excellent place to relax from city's noise and dust. Swimmingpool, garden.
The staff were wonderful, friendly & informative. Free internet access was great!
quiet, friendly, excellent location for Obidos visit
Comfortable room, friendly English-speaking staff, adequate parking. Nice breakfast. Entrance difficult to find. Own transport needed.
Very good, clean, beautiful, well located.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. The situation of the hotel made parking difficult - we were not aware how narrow the streets were!
the location within the walls of an historic town; the friendly, competent staff, the attractive room and grounds no
The friendly staff, their flexibility, the great service: good kitchen and an excellent breakfast The difficulty to reach the hotel by car. It should be better explained that there are huge parking limitations
hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. rooms were clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. we stayed in December. although the rooms have airconditioner, it was a bit chilly at night.... maybe because of its historic building and its stone floor. I would definitely recommend you to stay in Obidos in warmer season.
The staff was incredible-so helpful to us with parking, facility orientation, directions, area attractions, etc. The atmosphere was beyond gorgeous! It was all quaint & luxurious at the same time. Only the lack of channel availability on the TV. Not an issue really.
Beautiful hotel. Decoration and staff friendliness are best in class. Restaurant is very good though a bit expensive. Parking is not very convenient and bed mattress should be changed as soon as possible. Apparently we were not the first ones to complain about the mattress which probably dates from the past century!
Staff excellent. Pricey, but if you don't want butter wrapped in silver foil or marmalade in plastic pots with rip-off lids - it's worth it. Recommend breakfast on your balcony - bliss. Warning!! Camels/needles - cars/Obidos.
I attended the Jumping taking place on the hotel territory. I have enjoyed the extraordinary view over the Ocean. I really have to say that the breakfast was great with a large variety of products for the hotel category especially the crepes/pancakes served for breakfast and prepared "à la minute" by the cook.
wonderful view on the ocean, big swimming pool
Nice location next to the sea. Nice buffet breakfast incluted in the room price. Rooms should be renovated. Bit old looking.
Location and swimming pool Restaurant too limited, very overpriced. Double beds only in rooms without balcony.
The price and the location... the pool also nice... The room temperature control and the hours of the breakfast (to late).
Definitly the location: very romantic! The pool was also lovely! The dinner buffet was unecessarly expensive: 22euros for a 2 dishes buffet!!They should have an alternative.Specially because there arent any restaurantes around. Also in my opinion the hotel is geting a little old, they should refresh it with new colours!
Hotel was virtually deserted, therefore at least very quiet. No coffee and tea making facility in the room. Standard rooms do not have air conditioning. Hotel very run down and very basic - needs a good renovation as it must have been a grand hotel at some point.......
the ocean view
The hotel has a superb location. The indoor pool is extremelly good. The hotel needs renovation to keep the level it had when it was new. You can tell that the facilities were upper end in the past but they now they feel old and worn out.
The very pleasent location, the beach and swiming pool Is an old hotel and I think repair maintenance is needed
lovely setting and comfortable room, good breakfast. location was not exactly convenient and bedding was a little too small for the bed
Friendly helpful staff. Accommodation is ideally suited For those people that would enjoy old mannor houses and character type accommodation. The breakfast was fantastic. Internet wi-fi was very slow at night.
We enjoyed the location and the surrounding countryside and the decor of the individual rooms. The breakfast was excellent.
The breakfast is excellent. The decorations are typical of Portuguese style. The roms are spacious. There is no tissue and no hair dryer in the room. The bed is too soft.
The staff was lovely and very helpful regarding good places to eat and what was around the area I wish there was a t.v. in the room
This is a perfect hotel to stay at in Tomar. Walking distance to monastary is easy but up. A gorgeous setting on the river. Room was exceptionaly clean but simple. Great customer service Breakfast was good but simple.
Good location and very comfortable. Nice to be in an not so busy area. We had problems with the link that you gave to the hotel and ended up 30 km out of our way which lost us over an hour to eventually check in.
Very relaxing and quiet guesthouse. Very good breakfast served by very obliging and friendly hostess. Secure free parking, lovely grounds inside the walled complex. Apartment very comfotable and modern. Great advice on a good local restaurant by our host. Short drive from beaches, restaurants, attractions, Lisbon in an hour. We enjoyed our stay. Apartment only serviced once during 6 night stay. No iron (available on request), no kettle in the room and fold down couch/bed is inconvenient. Car is essential as the guesthouse is driving distance from restaurants, shops, attractions etc. No local facilities.
Great little hotel with excellent facilities. The hosts are extremely friendly and due to the small size of the hotel it is really personal. Good breakfast and I would recommend to try a great home cooked portuguese meal. We brought our golfclubs and played on really beautiful courses only 20 minutes from the hotel. You do need a car to get around in the region. I can really recommend this hotel to anyone!
The facilities are new. The hospitality is excellent. The meals are great. The room was very clean. Great place to stay!
The staffs are very kind and the breakfast was simple but warm and good service. The facilies are newly equipped and rooms are clean. The space of swimmig pool is not much wide but seems enough for the guest when even fully booked. There is a tennis court near by that is about to open. In short, It was much better than we expected. It's nice place to relax. To reach the hotel was a little bit dificult. It would be better if there was a sign at the main street.
Quinta Do Molinu is a peaceful place to stay, the rooms are nicely decorated and the owners are very charming and always available. Breakfast is excellent, the (indoor) pool fantastic and the quinta is situated in very nice surroundings not far from the coast. The quality/price for a T0 is a little bit out of proportions, especially because you do not get a "real" bed but a sofa-bed. For the same price you can get a luxury room in a 5 star hotel in Lisbon.
