Airbnb didn't work out, and needed a good place to stay on short notice. The Eurostars Thalia was very affordable and very comfortable. I would recommend the hotel to anyone No complaints
The Thalia is situated in an ideal location 5 minutes from the river and 10 minutes from Wenceslas Square so ideal for sights and shops.
the cleanliness of the hotel and courtesey of the staff.
excellent location, good breakfast and very friendly staff who all spoke good English breakfast room was a bit dark
The staff and location were very good. We were within walking distance to all tourist attractions. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was quite good. The noise level was high. We were in a room towards the main street and could hear traffic and the tram all night. We could also hear loud guests in the hallway late into the night our first night.
The location was spot on. The room and ambience was just perfect. N/A
Beautiful suite for a room. The controls for the shower are confusing.
Receptionstaff did very well! Great service!! Beautiful bedroom, perfect airconditioner. Curtain to make it dark did not close totally, safe was not fixed to the cupboard, we missed the thing to clean the toilet. Staff in breakfastrestaurant could be more friendly. They work hard, but they forget to talk with the guest or give the some extra service, like serving some coffee or make a small talk with the guest.
The breakfast had areally good variety, however it would be good if the guest could choose how their eggs are prepared. The non-smoking policy should be addressed, I specifically asked for a non- smoking room. however the room was on a floor with people that smoked and it affected me seriously, also the public areas should be non-smoking. again the comfortable part of the public lounge was so badly polluted with sigarette smoke that we could not use it and had to go to another restuarant for drinks and snacks
Nice looking suite.
The location is what attracted me to the Eurostars Thalia and it appeared to be a nice hotel on the website. Upon arriving, the hotel met all my expectations, the staff was very nice and the location was about as good as you're going to get in Old Town of Prague. I was traveling solo to meet up with my son on his Study Abroad trip but I will be returning with my wife and I would stay again for sure. Reasonable price, nicely furnished, attentive staff and great location!
Is a very good hotel, luxury, clean and nice location with nice breaktfast
spacey room, very well located, efficient hotel internet service is costly and not user friendly
Location excepcional and facility to access importants points of the city Concierge should be better and the parking area in front of the hotel shoud be more organized.
Close to the city centre & shopping
The hotel is in the best location, i could walk to most of the attraction and resterants in five minutes. Yes the price of friut plate was very expensive.
Excellent location in the heart of the old town. Our suite had a separate living room, comfortable furniture, excellent internet connection. Breakfasts had a great selection of items. Staff were unfailingly friendly.
The location of the hotel is great. No wireless internet in rooms
The staff were friendly, helpful and responsive. The room was spacious and beautiful. I love the frescoes! The location is perfect - just steps from the Old Town square.
The location /cleanliness & service were excellent as was the buffet breakfast. The staff were also very helpful with local knowledge.
very nice hotel in the center of Prague. Very nice interior terrasse.Highly recommended
The location was great and the whole style of the hotel inside and out was fantastic. The staff were friendly and very helpful i will definitley return to the Iron Gate on my next trip to Prague. Nothing
The position of the hotel is very good and affords easy access to restaurants and sites. Yes. The breakfast was not inviting and the service was indifferent.
Central location, comfortable room. Had to change room after first - had requested double, and it was really twin. Also lot of noise from street. Second room was fine.
small and central
large, airy room. asked for a twin ( 2 ladies) but upgraded free to a suite which had a double bed. however. hotel immediately made up the bed settee for me so in effect we had a bedroom each. staff- nothing too much trouble the bath. it was huge but also you needed a wide stretch to climb into it. it would have been impossible for some people to use and there wasnt a separate shower so no alternative bathing facilities. also there needed to be a handle on the wall as climbing out of the bath was a leap of faith with nothing to hold on to
The staff were very attentive and the service was first class. The fact that when we arrived they did not have a reservation for us. I think they sold the rooms becasue we did not arrive until 10pm.
The Hotel is is the perfect location, right on the Old Town Square. The Hotel itself is filled with wonderful old world charm and the staff are excellent. The outdoor restaurant on the square and the rooftop restaurant are both excellent and the food was great. A real home away from home. The hotel was having issues when we were there with a new discotheque which moved in behind the hotel playing load music till 5 am, the staff was wonderful about it but it is an issue the hotel will need to resolve as it was impossible to sleep one evening with all the noise.
The ambiance and attention to detail is amazing, great tavern and restaurant, breakfast is excellent. Service and staff was excellent also. Room has old world charm, fine furnishing, luxury feel. Rooftop terrace a big bonus, great view. Showers have no curtain. Water on floor after showered. Kind of annoying. That's it, everything else first class.
The location, the quality of room, the pleasant service.
The place was perfect and the breakfast was excelant.
Just a magnificent experience. Like sleeping in a museum surrounded by artwork and history. Fine, courteous staff and superp service. Nothing
staff were friendly and great location. the room was spacious then i expected. also breakfast was good and great view from my room. it has an elevator but you still walk to your room half floor. you should ask somebody to carry your luggage if its too heavy.
Staff were always pleasant and helpful
The hospitality and the helpfullness of the staff whilst we where experiencing problems with lost luggage. They could not of done more to help us and made our stay so enjoyable.
We loved our junior suite bedroom/sitting room. The position of the hotel on the Square. The convenience to shops and historical sites. The wonderful view from the roof garden. Good food. Polite staff.
everything, the staff, the food and the room opening windows, especially so big, was awkward
Jaccuzi in the bathroom was good to have relaxed time after day. Room was clean and tidy althogh decor was a bit too old fashioned. Location is good for castle/old town visit. I had a big drama with a taxi driver who the hotel reception arraned. Even though I clearly requested for a taxi which I would be able to pay with my corporate credit card but they sent a taxi accpeting only cash. After a big argument (with english translator) the taxi driver came back to hotel and asked hotel to pay her alomost double (for round trip which i didnt even use!), and the hotel charged me this all extra cost even though it was not my fault at all without any explanation. Only after I pointed it out they deducted the extra cost. I was really upset and It was not pleasant experience I'd expect from 5star hotel. Breakfast was simple and boring (Nothing like 5 star hotel).
Great hotel in a excellent location between Prague Castle and Old Town...With a parking garage! Highly recommend. Drive to "text" directions on web hard to follow, probably tricky for any hotel in old Prague; was difficult to locate without a map or GPS. Print out "map" if possible if you're driving to hotel.
I liked the interior decor of the hotel and its coziness; also, the breakfast buffet and the restaurant menu fare. I thought the bed mattress was a little soft for my liking.
The spa overpriced
Lovely friendly intimate atmosphere, very nice restaurant,
Very good location, atmosphere and service. Noise from the road in some rooms when window is open.
Excellent breakfast, lovely artwork throughout the hotel, very good location, quiet surroundings. One older porter quite surly but that was our only disappointment. See above
The staff were very polite and willing to ensure a nice stay for us. The junior suite with the jacuzzi tub was an excellent way to end a long day of amazing siteseeing. It is located on a very steep incline.
Staff was very friendly. Room was beautiful. Nothing, great hotel.
The wifi connection was really slow in room 15. I was surprised I had to pay for newspapers or print a document
Room had impeccable cleaniness and everything was in a very nice contemporary design. Bed was excellent and so was air conditioning. Hotel location was good and my attic room was very quiet. Breakfast buffet was ok by Scandinavian standards, excellent by any other standards. However, there were no fresh vegetables available, only sautéed. Small minus for the lack of trouser press, but staff gave a steam iron instead.
the style of the building outside. location in Lesser town, very convenient go up Prague Castle. the furry blankets/rugs. these collect dust. I suggest you do colored cloths instead for accent & not fur. people have allergies. Breakfast can be improved on.
Hotel staff was excellent and very accommodating to our requests. The hotel is clean, modern, quiet, and has an above average restaurant. However, like the other reviews mentioned, you see few people in the hotel or restaurant. We were the only couple in the entire restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to others, especially if you are looking for a modern room in this old, historic city.
Prime location, quite block, friendly and professional stuff. Rooms are not big but very clean and nice decorated. Would be nice if rooms have coffee machines instead of instant coffee only. Iron and iron board would be a good addition as well.
Location, internet access Staff could have been more friendly
Cleaness, being new and style None, maybe does not having a swimming pool
Everything was perfect, the room, service and staff. I wouldn't fault anything at all, and wouuld definitely return.
Marvellous interior decoration, spacious, quite room, central locatio;n.
Excellent location, conveniently located but a quiet neighbourhood. The staff at the reception could be a bit cold some time.
Great location. Super quiet and very close to the charles bridge Very friendly staff. Very nice rooms. Good breakfast My wife and I had a great stay over the week end.
nice hotel, good staff.
the worst hotel i have ever been
Phenomenal young pleasant attentive staff, superb location,
N/A We had a confirmation for booking two rooms, after traveling for 9 hours with children we got to the hotel and they told us that they do not have any reservations for us and the hotel is fully booked. Customer service was horrible, we were on the phone paying international roaming and being on hold to find out that they had found us a 2 star hotel with single bed's 30 minutes from Prague and told us everything comparable was sold out, we had to get a taxi and go to 6 different hotels before we were able to find a room and had to pay double the price.. I will never book through your service again. I will be leaving my feedback on every travel site I know.
Location was perfect perfect!!! Great little restaurant for breakfast & mid day snacks!
Hospitable staff, and excellent location The hotel could do with a better breakfast room and new mattresses.
The best hotel I have stayed at for service, friendliness of staff and warmth of welcome. Despite excellent reviews, it actually exceeded exceptations. My wife and I were upgraded to Junior Suite on arrival and presented with a bottle of champagne in our room when we revealed she was celebrating a 'special' birthday. Nothing seemed too much trouble for staff at hotel and I would recommend it unreservedly for a short break in Prague. Wonderful and memorable stay in top-class surroundings. Will not hesitate to return to the Pachtuv Palace at some stage.
The most amazing hotel we have stayed In Nothing
The staff are very helpful and well-trained, providing excellent service. The room is very nice for its value, and the location is just perfect for everyone who goes to Prague for a leisure visit.
Friendlyness of staff excellent, nut was let down on a confirmed booking, only for i checked on time we would never known it was not booked, Girl at reception forgot
Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff Breakfast a bit overpriced
From the welcoming smile to the opulance of the, to the location every thing was perfect. If you want to spoil your wife/partner this is the place.
Helpful staff, great breakfast Very small room for the price
Although the hotel looks great in its website - the pictures actually don't do it justice. It is a fabulous little jewel of a hotel tucked away in the best part of fantastic Prague. Senior staff are very good. The pool is tiny and cold; and the service, especially in the spa, is a bit hit and miss - my wife made a manicure appointment which was not fulfilled and poorly handled.
excelent location, beautifully decorated hotel, spacious room, excellent service, good selection of food for breakfast
This is a luxury hotel and priced accordingly. Everything about the place is first class. The decor is beautiful from the rooms to the reception to the lounges, breakfast room and exterior. The staff is efficient and very helpful. The whole place is comfortable. Nothing to dislike.
The Alchymist is a lovely luxury hotel with very attentive staff and beautiful decor that really suits the prague experience. I chose not to use the spa as the services are really quite expensive.
I like the location of this hotel - in Mala strana. Also the SPA-center in this hotel is very nice. It's real pleasure to visit it.
The Alchymist is a beautiful boutique hotel, perfectly positioned for all of Prague's attractions. The staff were the best we have experienced, polite, extremely helpful & informative. The Alchymist made our holiday a most memorable one. Thanks
ambiance and staff
Excellent environment feeling like home with very personal service Not enough room provisions like bottled water etc.
The rooms in 6th floor are marvelous and have unique view to the castle or the bridge. The staff was unexpectantly polite . The restaurant was high quality. The central heating in the rooms. Too much hot in the evenings .The pressure of the water in the bathroom. The breakfast should be better for 5 star hotel
We stayed in a suite 603 on the top floor. We had a balcony with the views of the castle and Senate & the gardens. If u can, ask for a room at least on the 4th floor as there is a big concrete wall in front of the hotel. the hotel is 5 mins walk from Karlov most & the castle. The girls at the the reception were very nice and helpful. We didn't have any breakfast in the hotel so can't really say if is it's good or bad. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, every time you want a cup you've to call the reception and they bring it to the room. It is free of charge but still a bit inconvenient.
Very comfortable, very good breakfast, 5 min walk to Karlov Bridge. Wonderful view from the 5 floor! Parking 30 Euro!!! And not so comfortable.
Convenience of location. Quiet area around hotel for a good night sleep yet not far from busy bars. Breakfast service could be alot better.
Nice hotel, the manager Vitek Klima, is a very nice man, if you need help talk to him. the locaton of the hotel is very good you can walk to all the attractions.
Central locatinvey close to CharlesBridge& Cle Lack of fitness facilities
nicely decorated rooms, very big shower, lcd tv
1) Restaurant: Food was OK, but the service was very poor, for breakfast (lack of cups, spoons, coffee, napkins...), as well as for lunch (very very slow) - 2) No possibility to adjust heating in the room
Very quit location in the middle of old town Prague. Comfortable rooms with marble bathroom, the size is quiet ok if you are travelling by yourself for business as I did. Breakfast & breakfast room, this is not what you expect at a five star rated hotel.
Friendly staff, good breakfast the beds at the hotel and teh pillows
excellent hotel for combination - business+tourism
Location was excellent The fact that we could not book the taxi of our choice and had to use the one recommended by hotel which we found to be very expensive and driver non communactive and very aggressive driver.
great location (5 min walking distance from Charles Bridge), awesome bed, awesome restaurant decoration (medieval style) Although we paid cash for all the 3 rooms reserved at the hotel, they also charged the card for which I gave information on booking.com!!!!!!!!
Thank you for a great service.
The central location, proximity to public transport, cleanliness of the rooms and the castle theme of the hotel. I would have liked a busier bar and lower prices in the hotel restaurant,it would have encouraged me to spend an evening or two there.
Based in quiet area with easy walking to all central locations Staff - Not sure if its a language barrier!! They should learn to smile and say hello!!!!
The position was absolutely perfect for siteseeing in Prague, the reception desk staff were very friendly, we had an excelent breakfast each day. Its in walking distance to the whole of central Prague. We decided to have a drink and eat in the hotel on our final evening as the restauarant was very appelaing. However, when we went to get a drinlk and go to the restaurant we were informed they both were closed for a private function - not very good for paying hotel guests
Location was very good The restaurant and bar were booked for private functions both nights we were there.
The hotel is located at the edge of the Kampa area which seems like a shared large backyard / park type of place. We parked in this area behind the hotel (charged) and it seemed like a safe area. Every day and night we would walk through the park as a short cut to the rest of the city. It never seemed like a dangerous place. The breakfast area is quite cheesy with all the (fake?) armors and medieval weapons. I love music but the live piano or harpsichord just made the place more noisy. The buffet is plentiful but the quality of item was quite ordinary. The room was large and had no air conditioning which wasn't much of a problem but then we had to sleep with the window open and hear all the noise early morning. Nothing too serious, only the small annoyances that seem to be present everywhere in Prague.
They left a chocolate in my pillow everyday The staff were very friendly and tried to help me in everything I asked Some things in the breakfast, but I don't think it's the hotel's fault but Prague's food
Warm, welcoming, helpful staff; fascinating, sumptuous, luxurious and comfortable decor; quiet, safe location, convenient to the main bridge and city centre, but not on top of it.
location - quiet - elegance - privacy - space. the entire experience was excellent and made all the difference in our stay in Prague.
the room was beutiful
Perfect location with excellent customer care. I love surprises and your hotel fulfilled mind and soul. Front desk Tasha was especially warm and helpful. Thank you so much. Perhaps you can offer coffee or tea packets in the room to enhance visitor's stay?
A beautiful hotel with great staff. Although it does not have all the amenities of a larger hotel, it is in a great location. It is close enough to everything but is still on a quiet street. It has a romantic feel to it. We were upgraded to a better room on arrival. We were enticed by the gothic room on the websites but the room they gave us was much larger and in a better location within the hotel. A great stay!
the decor was good, it was gold and the dining room was very comfortable. I think the term suite was an exageration, It was a normal room with a kitchenette which had no cups or mugs in !
Location was great-close to all sights. Rooms were spacious.
Personal is very friendly, design is awesome, very nice Gothic suite No, everything is great
It was a traditional hotel with good dining and wine options and well positioned for visiting the tourist sites in Prague no
The staff was very friendly, room was amazing - very clean and comfortable, great location.
The location is perfect for walking to the centre and hystorical sites and shopping locations. The comfort of the room, sitting area and bathroom not up to par.
The staff were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. We had a small problem with the room which was allocated to us and they immediately sorted the problem out for us, in a friendly and polite fashion. No, but as all the rooms don't have a bath, make sure you request a room with one, if that is what you want.
It was great. The staff was very nice and gave a feeling to be very welcome. There was nothing I did not like. I am very often in good hotels but mostly the difference is the friendlyness of the staff. Friendly staff is the result of very good management.
The design of the hotel and also the relax atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable. The staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The SPA is really really nice. And the food for room service or the restaurant was delicious.
The service was absolutely fantastic. Well run hotel I would also like to say that I have stayed all over the world in many hotels, and this is definitely one of the best! Nothing!!!
