very comfortable Dad nice jacuzzi tub spacious room spacious bathroom great location no complaints I would go there again and recommended to my friends
Lovely friendly intimate atmosphere, very nice restaurant,
Staff was very friendly. Room was beautiful. Nothing, great hotel.
Outstanding continental breakfast and proximity to the Prague Castle. Easy walk to Old Town and Charles bridge as well. Perfect location to stage a visit to Prague! Secure underground parking option for $16/night or free street parking in front of hotel. The room came with a free drink at the bar, too!
The spa overpriced
The staff were very polite and willing to ensure a nice stay for us. The junior suite with the jacuzzi tub was an excellent way to end a long day of amazing siteseeing. It is located on a very steep incline.
Great hotel in a excellent location between Prague Castle and Old Town...With a parking garage! Highly recommend. Drive to "text" directions on web hard to follow, probably tricky for any hotel in old Prague; was difficult to locate without a map or GPS. Print out "map" if possible if you're driving to hotel.
I liked the interior decor of the hotel and its coziness; also, the breakfast buffet and the restaurant menu fare. I thought the bed mattress was a little soft for my liking.
everything, the staff, the food and the room opening windows, especially so big, was awkward
Jaccuzi in the bathroom was good to have relaxed time after day. Room was clean and tidy althogh decor was a bit too old fashioned. Location is good for castle/old town visit. I had a big drama with a taxi driver who the hotel reception arraned. Even though I clearly requested for a taxi which I would be able to pay with my corporate credit card but they sent a taxi accpeting only cash. After a big argument (with english translator) the taxi driver came back to hotel and asked hotel to pay her alomost double (for round trip which i didnt even use!), and the hotel charged me this all extra cost even though it was not my fault at all without any explanation. Only after I pointed it out they deducted the extra cost. I was really upset and It was not pleasant experience I'd expect from 5star hotel. Breakfast was simple and boring (Nothing like 5 star hotel).
Very good location, atmosphere and service. Noise from the road in some rooms when window is open.
Excellent breakfast, lovely artwork throughout the hotel, very good location, quiet surroundings. One older porter quite surly but that was our only disappointment. See above
Hotel staff was excellent and very accommodating to our requests. The hotel is clean, modern, quiet, and has an above average restaurant. However, like the other reviews mentioned, you see few people in the hotel or restaurant. We were the only couple in the entire restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to others, especially if you are looking for a modern room in this old, historic city.
Excellent location, conveniently located but a quiet neighbourhood. The staff at the reception could be a bit cold some time.
Everything was perfect, the room, service and staff. I wouldn't fault anything at all, and wouuld definitely return.
the style of the building outside. location in Lesser town, very convenient go up Prague Castle. the furry blankets/rugs. these collect dust. I suggest you do colored cloths instead for accent & not fur. people have allergies. Breakfast can be improved on.
Prime location, quite block, friendly and professional stuff. Rooms are not big but very clean and nice decorated. Would be nice if rooms have coffee machines instead of instant coffee only. Iron and iron board would be a good addition as well.
Location, internet access Staff could have been more friendly
The wifi connection was really slow in room 15. I was surprised I had to pay for newspapers or print a document
Cleaness, being new and style None, maybe does not having a swimming pool
Marvellous interior decoration, spacious, quite room, central locatio;n.
Great location. Super quiet and very close to the charles bridge Very friendly staff. Very nice rooms. Good breakfast My wife and I had a great stay over the week end.
Room had impeccable cleaniness and everything was in a very nice contemporary design. Bed was excellent and so was air conditioning. Hotel location was good and my attic room was very quiet. Breakfast buffet was ok by Scandinavian standards, excellent by any other standards. However, there were no fresh vegetables available, only sautéed. Small minus for the lack of trouser press, but staff gave a steam iron instead.
The Alchymist is a beautiful boutique hotel, perfectly positioned for all of Prague's attractions. The staff were the best we have experienced, polite, extremely helpful & informative. The Alchymist made our holiday a most memorable one. Thanks
From the welcoming smile to the opulance of the, to the location every thing was perfect. If you want to spoil your wife/partner this is the place.
This is a luxury hotel and priced accordingly. Everything about the place is first class. The decor is beautiful from the rooms to the reception to the lounges, breakfast room and exterior. The staff is efficient and very helpful. The whole place is comfortable. Nothing to dislike.
Although the hotel looks great in its website - the pictures actually don't do it justice. It is a fabulous little jewel of a hotel tucked away in the best part of fantastic Prague. Senior staff are very good. The pool is tiny and cold; and the service, especially in the spa, is a bit hit and miss - my wife made a manicure appointment which was not fulfilled and poorly handled.
The Alchymist is a lovely luxury hotel with very attentive staff and beautiful decor that really suits the prague experience. I chose not to use the spa as the services are really quite expensive.
I like the location of this hotel - in Mala strana. Also the SPA-center in this hotel is very nice. It's real pleasure to visit it.
excelent location, beautifully decorated hotel, spacious room, excellent service, good selection of food for breakfast
Helpful staff, great breakfast Very small room for the price
Excellent environment feeling like home with very personal service Not enough room provisions like bottled water etc.
ambiance and staff
Convenience of location. Quiet area around hotel for a good night sleep yet not far from busy bars. Breakfast service could be alot better.
Central locatinvey close to CharlesBridge& Cle Lack of fitness facilities
nicely decorated rooms, very big shower, lcd tv
1) Restaurant: Food was OK, but the service was very poor, for breakfast (lack of cups, spoons, coffee, napkins...), as well as for lunch (very very slow) - 2) No possibility to adjust heating in the room
Nice hotel, the manager Vitek Klima, is a very nice man, if you need help talk to him. the locaton of the hotel is very good you can walk to all the attractions.
We stayed in a suite 603 on the top floor. We had a balcony with the views of the castle and Senate & the gardens. If u can, ask for a room at least on the 4th floor as there is a big concrete wall in front of the hotel. the hotel is 5 mins walk from Karlov most & the castle. The girls at the the reception were very nice and helpful. We didn't have any breakfast in the hotel so can't really say if is it's good or bad. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, every time you want a cup you've to call the reception and they bring it to the room. It is free of charge but still a bit inconvenient.
Very quit location in the middle of old town Prague. Comfortable rooms with marble bathroom, the size is quiet ok if you are travelling by yourself for business as I did. Breakfast & breakfast room, this is not what you expect at a five star rated hotel.
Very comfortable, very good breakfast, 5 min walk to Karlov Bridge. Wonderful view from the 5 floor! Parking 30 Euro!!! And not so comfortable.
The rooms in 6th floor are marvelous and have unique view to the castle or the bridge. The staff was unexpectantly polite . The restaurant was high quality. The central heating in the rooms. Too much hot in the evenings .The pressure of the water in the bathroom. The breakfast should be better for 5 star hotel
The design of the hotel and also the relax atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable. The staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The SPA is really really nice. And the food for room service or the restaurant was delicious.
It was great. The staff was very nice and gave a feeling to be very welcome. There was nothing I did not like. I am very often in good hotels but mostly the difference is the friendlyness of the staff. Friendly staff is the result of very good management.
The location is perfect for walking to the centre and hystorical sites and shopping locations. The comfort of the room, sitting area and bathroom not up to par.
The staff were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. We had a small problem with the room which was allocated to us and they immediately sorted the problem out for us, in a friendly and polite fashion. No, but as all the rooms don't have a bath, make sure you request a room with one, if that is what you want.
The service was absolutely fantastic. Well run hotel I would also like to say that I have stayed all over the world in many hotels, and this is definitely one of the best! Nothing!!!
The location was excellent and dinner on the roof terrace is worth doing. The gym has good equipment and has nice views of the garden.
The efforts of the staff to create a pleasant atmosphere. The amenities that the hotel provides: an excellent breakfast in an attractive dining room; comfortable rooms; and a good location for access to the city's sights.
Very good hotel.
personal does everything to make you feel comfertable -
The staff were very welcoming, and extremely professional. An unusual feature of this hotel is the supply of an ipod for use in your room, and a large cd library with a huge range - I only looked at the classical cds as that's my interest and the selection is impressive. The hotel guests also have access to a beautiful baroque-era garden at the rear of the hotel, it's the oldest of its kind in Prague. The hotel's roof terrace provides amazing rooftop views of Prague while enjoying excellent cuisine and a well-chosen wine list.
Impeccable service, outstanding staff, great music/movie selection for free
The service from all staff was above anything I have encountered. It was too close to the US embassy, its less than 150 meters from the embassy.
Location was great. In general service was good. The idea of the music theme is unique. The gardens at the back of the hotel are beautiful. The view at the rooftop garden restaurant is excellent. The gym is sufficient Stereo and DVD system could be improved in the room as it wasn't fully functional on arrival.. Poor wireless reception and only in the lobby. Euo wasps frequent the rooftop garden restaurant. Were going to eat at the rooftop garden restaurant but cancelled as we had a drink there in the afternoon and was served a curdled ice coffee by a female who made excuses but no apologies.
The concierge was very friendly and helpful. She made excellent recommendations. The breakfast is really wonderful and was included with our room rate. Also, the attached gardens are beautiful and provide a great view of the city. Great location. The hotel car is probably not a good value; although, the city taxis should be avoided.
Good location, nice roof terrace The double beds have only one comforter. Two have two (smaller ones)would make a big difference. The suite was spacious, but had no view at all.
Stunning service, attention to detail and involvement of management in day to day operations. Cuisine is excellent and breakfast an experience in itself.
All Staff is very kindly.A view from Restrant is so beautiful.Morning Meal is Delisious. ジャグジーが使えなかった。説明書を見たが動作がしなかった。
personal attention, uniqueness of the hotel
Everything. Beautiful view of the city from the restaurant. Quiet neighborhood away from traffic. Helpful staff. Excellent location. Beautiful surrounding gardens.
Very nice hotel, clean, comfortable, and great experience overall. The staff is not terribly knowledgeable of the city or making recommendations for dining, train transfers, etc.
The magnificent views, excellent food and comfort of room are only exceeded by the friendliness and attentiveness of all staff. what a wonderfull experience our stay at the golden well was!
jacuzzi bath, welcome drink, view whilst eating breakfat, food at breakfast, friendly staff
We enjoyed a beautiful view of the rooftops of Prague in a spacious suite, only steps away from the Castle. The hotel staff was gracious and professional, and the restaurant was memorable.
The very friendly service, reception, bellman, maid service. The location, quiet and with great view of the old city.
Terrific helpful desk clerks and a very nice room. Excellent location
location, design hotel, restaurant No
Convenient yet quiet location, just next to Charles bridge, and 50m to tram station. Nice building and rooms, excellent serivces n.a.
staff very helpful, location perfect, room (upgraded to suit) excellent though room was cleaned regularly, bad sheehts were only changed after 4 days.
Great location, great staff, great hotel, great experience!
Large, comfortable, clean rooms and excellent service: hotel staff polite and accommodating. Location couldn't be better - right next to Charles Bridge. I shall use this hotel again next time I visit Prague!
The friendly staff and it's location at Charles Bridge. The cleanliness of hotel was good. Champagne in my room for my birthday was a nice touch.
The location, only minutes from the Charles bridge and lots of nice restaurants close by. Nothing.
Hotel is very close charles bridge. Nothing
good location. helpful staff, very clean & comfortable, would recommend no
The location of the hotel is so special. it is in the middle of everything. There are three building having the same management of charles hotel. so, we found our selves not booking on the original charles and they shifted us to another building. The staff at checkout was so arogant and not helpful at all.
Great location, in between the charles castle and the charles bridge. Very accessible to all of the city. St.Nikolaus church 2 min away, plenty of shops, restaurants, supermarket nearby. Room was very spacious, tea/coffee provided for. Bath robes provided. some english channels available on tv. suite was very pleasant. free wifi. staff pleasant. baggage storage facilities, free use of pc and tea/coffee facilities in hotel lobby, which we were free to use after checkout, printed out boarding passes for us also. while the suite was lovely - we were located on the first floor, noise levels very loud during the night and early morning. would prefer to stay at back of hotel or maybe higher floor , as noise levels did rise throughout the night.
cleaned room N/A
cosy and quiet...! not having my own tea and coffee maker in my room
The most important is the place where the hotel is situated. At 50 m from Charles Bridge and very close to Castle is everything you can get in order to have a perfect day in Prague. Hitting was not satisfactory. In bathroom was very hot but in the room was not so good ambient. The most embarrassing thing is that you have to use the card to open the light and key for opening the door. Each time when you were leaving the room in the night you should have to take out he card and then find the locker to open the door..
Well positioned for sightseeing, an elegant building with style Decor in need of update but not a big problem. Better shower arrangements would be useful
hotel was in a great location staff freindly hotel very clean and comfy would go back and will recomend
Excellent location. Nice breakfast included in the room rate. But overall the hotel is too expensive considering the quality of the services offered. Staff very useless and unfriendly. We were received by a very rude man, actually the night guard, who did not speak any English. He refused to give us a parking permit although we had a reservation and it was not for free. We had to leave the car on a parking reserved for local people risking to get a fine. Next day we obtained a permit for 14 euro/day. Staff was again useless when asked why the pugs in the room are not working. We had to discover ourselves that all the plugs are linked to the light switchers and when turning off the light you actually cut off the current. The so called luxury room is actually a 3 stars hotel room with cheap furniture and ugly decorations meant to give a classic look. The outcome is in no way a luxury room
It was ideally situated for the purpose of general shopping & sightseeing. Yes the 1st room we were given was very dark so we changed to another room which was on the 3rd floor 45 steps no lift, it was comfortable, and very nice.
The day staff was exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was varied, plentiful, and tasty. The climb up to our rooms on the 3rd floor! I realize that if we had reserved the higher priced room, we would have had the benefit of the elevator. However, we would be quite breathless by the time we reached our floor. Please put a chair on each landing for us "elders", who might need to take a rest.
We enjoyed the location and the fabulous views of the Castle and cathedral and the very warm welcome. N A
1.View from room-window on 3th flor- Hradčany; 2.NO lift - burner of fat czech cuisine; 3.Breakfast - nice selection of tea 4. Location, location, location - close to all attractions 1.View from the room-window on 1st floor- wall 2.NO lift - luggage challenge on spiral stairs; 3.Breakfast - constant lack of available clean plates, no vegetables, close to 10a.m. food is replenished slowly or at all 4. Internet chargeable
We loved the charming rooms with leaded glass windows, a sitting room and large bathroom. Our view of the castle is best most beautiful view we have ever had from a hotel room. The u Pava was great. The breakfast was very nice too.
Nice location. Comfortable rooms.cheaper parking rate and availability than other hotels.
To repair hitting and sanitation of bathroom in №308. desing, kind treatment
The view and location location and again location- one minute to the Carols Bridge and romantic part of Prague- Kampa. I really liked the way how they served tea- in a own teapot- really good idea and choice of teas. The carpet might have been cleaned more often, plus it might be a problem for a people with disabilities as there is no lift.
Great location, very friendly employees, great interior, nice bathroom Climatisation didn't work, window faced directly a wall with a very loud ventilation, not a single TV program worked, parking was expensive and 800 meters away from hotel
I travel extensively and the Appia is one of my favorite hotels. I felt so comfortable, safe and well cared for by your friendly staff. In particular the large size of my room, the terrace and windows and doors with fresh air, the cleanliness, and the wonderful breakfast. Your staff is knowledgeable and genuinely friendly and well trained. I also love the quiet location. We traveled in Europe for a month and the Appia was our favorite hotel.
The ultra-quiet location in a lovely neighborhood. Near enough to the attractions to be able to go on foot but far enough so that we didn't feel we were in touristville. Our double room turned out to be two rooms, which made it very comfortable. The fact that the feel of Appia Residences is "homey" rather than "hotelly", which might not be appreciated by travellers who want a hotel with a lobby and bar and room service, but was perfect for our tastes. In general, we were perfectly satisfied. The only minor problem we had was the difficultly in the bathtub of changing the flow of water from tap to shower head. Also the rooms, while pleasant and comfortable, could use a touch of decoration on the walls.
A quiet side street within 2 minutes of the main walk up to the Castle. felt almost Tuscan in feel. Breakfast room very atmospheric. Bedroom (Double) excellent; large, v-comfortable. None of the 6 hotels I have stayed in in Prague have had great pillows so the Apia beat them all. Czech breakfast buffets are not that exciting in terms of fresh fruit. Apia's was average.
Particularly, the position of the room with a terrace and how quiet it was. The room was also nice and large. We would suggest that you put in a shower screen so that people are able to use the shower facilities without making the floor wet!
Excellent location, friendly atmosphere
The staff are friendly The pictures of the room were taken like 20 years ago and that's probably when it looked like this. It's old, falling apart and not comfortable. On more specific points: could hardly make the shower work, it also had no curtain; the floor is dirty to the point where it makes no use to clean it, needs replacing; TV - smallest screen possible so you can't really watch it except standing close; 10 euros for 24h internet, I've seen far cheaper hotels who did not try to make money on this; bed sheets are clean but also had to be replaced at least an year ago, the breakfast was quite poor as well.
The tranquility of the hotel and helpful and friendly staff
style, comfort and surroundings a bit dull breakfast
The hotel is extremely well located, at a 7min walk fron Prague's Castle. in a very quiet and beatiful area. The building is very elegant and the decor as well. Our room was hugue! And the breakfast was delicious and served in a incredible attic!!! Front desk service always attentive and nice, Daniel helped us a lot. Definitely a must hotel in Prague!!!
good price,Quiet location and clean and spacious room.
