Historic setting in central location Unfriendly breakfast service
Beautiful rooms, very well kept, you really feel like staying in an Italian city palace, hideaway from the bussle of Florence, helpful staff, great tips on where to go and dine Just a tip: from the bookings website, we didnt realize it would be this gorgeous...
spacious room, friendly staff. quite different from the pictures on the web page, a little misleading. There is no lift, no staff available from 6 pm.
This was at one time a small palace. Each room had a different planet theme. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms were large and each room had a different scent that was sprayed in the room. The breakfast is served in the original kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. This hotel is within a 10-20 minute walking distance to most shopping and sites.
Central location and such a spacious room - we loved it! Staff, too were wonderful - friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.
Big special rooms with quiet and very good location.
I have stayed twice. To me this hotel conveys a real feeling and appreciation of the beauty and taste and Florence. Also, the location is excellent. The hotel is small and has limited desk duty. This can be a problem if you are arriving or leaving late. They leave the desk at 19:00.
The location is great, staff were helpful and the breakfast room was lovely.
This has an excellent location from check in to check out hotel & staff were fantastic had read some poor reviews on amother site and these are totally unjustified. We would have no hesitation in staying here again & again.
The location is wonderful, right in Piazza San Firenze. Only 1 block from Piazza della Signoria. We had a very large room. Beautiful decor, friendly staff. We did not have a safe in our room so we had to carry our money and passports with us. There was Wi-fi but no free computer to use. We did not have any drinking glasses in our room.
Central location - friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and spacious and the host was very friendly and helpful.I am recommending this hotel as we got it at a good price for Florence. The B&B is on the first floor of a building site (as 25/9/2008). It meant we had to carry our luggage up 10-15 steps in a dusty corridor and then take a lift for the remaining. It would not suit anyone with walking/carrying difficulties.
the location is perfect it's a b & b
The hotel is near the center and short walk (2 min) to the cultural center of Firenze. We got a spacy room with a wonderful bathroom. Very quiet. Not easy to find.
Charming room, very close to major "highlights" of Firenze, very helpful personnel Most Italians speak Italian, and that's such a beautiful language that this is enough to them
Good location, large, nicely decorated rooms. It is NOT a hotel, as was mentioned in your site, but B&B (no lobby and hotel facilities
The location was great as far as proximity to points of interest like Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Galileo Museum. The walks to other places weren't bad at all and gave the opportunity to find places to eat and shop. The river is also very close and beautiful at night and in the morning. Our room (#8) was very quiet. Breakfast was at a cafe very close by with a very nice man working each morning. I had only one issue with hot water the first morning. I emailed Daniela and she had it checked out and confirmed there was indeed hot water to our room. Never had an issue after that. Communication was great. The entrance to the building has a strong odor when the doors aren't left open during the day. Galileo has very little control over this I'm sure. Luckily enough the smell does not lead upstairs or into the rooms. Still a great stay regardless.
great location, all highlights in walking distance difficult to find, same breakfast every day, little bit noisy place at night (the square)
It's very central to all major visitation destinations of the city. 10 min walk to everything. Get a city view room. It's worth it! The reception desk was very helpful, calling taxi's for us and making reservations for restraints and attractions. The indoor space and rooms were beautiful! Very romantic and LARGE!!! Finding the hotel and getting in is hard. Minimal signage, you can't walk into a main corridor. You have to figure out to hit a button and explain to a person through an intercom that you are staying there, then they buzz you up. The paper for the button that says Galileo 2000 is old and worn too.
The room was large. Parking in Florence is very expensive and the hotel can organise a discount for 2 parking garages which saved a lot of money. Heating was very good. The bathroom was definitely not clean enough. I don't even think the shower and sink had been wiped down from the previous guests. The toilet seat was broken and coming off. The window was broken which let extra noise in. The woman at breakfast was quite rude and felt put out when asked for something so simple as coffee. Breakfast was more limited than other hotels, no eggs or fruit. Maybe my expectations were too high. We have stayed at cheaper and nicer hotels in other cities - maybe Florence is just a very expensive city.
When i arrived Mina ( the lady working there) gave me map and showed which places must see and what buses i can take if i wanna go to some more far places - which was realy nice of her!=) i appriciated it a lot! Room was always clean and breakfast was really good ( at least for me =))If i had some questions i could easily ask mina and she was always ready to help and answer - which is a great plus!Location is good as its not exact in the center but on a quiet street so at night its fine to sleep but 10 mins from Duomo...=) i felt absolutely comfortable and safety staying in this B&B and i would stay there next time im coming to Florence.
Nice Hotel, 10 minutes walk from centre of Florence.
Good size room, Clean and tidy, good breakfast, great location close to station and centre, friendly staff.
Wonderful staff.Great location.
Perfect location. Pleasant, helpful staff in an elegant old building. Steep stairs, and the communial breakfast arrangements, but to be fair, it's diffucult to see how it could be otherwise in such an old building.
Ideal for tourism.Near all the main tourist attractions Difficult if you have a rental car
Within 100 yards of the Uffizi Museum on the Piazza!!!
the location,...... reservation ,although confirmed in march, was not registered. We stayed in 3 different rooms ! ( one much smaller , the other one oké ) persuation was necessary !!!!
Central location with major attractions in easy walking distance
The rooms were in excellent condition and good size. La Terrazza su Boboli is not a hotel - it is a B&B....this wasn't clear to us (although in the description we note that it is described as a b&b - but we'd searched for a hotel...)- if we'd known it was a b&b we would not have stayed. While the bedrooms are hotel standard there is not enough room for all guests to breakfast when they please and you always have that feeling that you are entering someone's house.
The place was elegantly decorated and afforded us the space and comfort to relax . The dining room was an interesting mix of dining room / lounge area and the continental breakfast was as refreshing as our Italian hosts
Room was lovely, included a terrace, and continental breakfast was very good, very personal service from Mario.
Large and comfortable room (with large LCD screen).Located very close to the center of Florence (15 min. walking to Ponte Vecchio). There is a nearby parking garage (15 Euro for 24 hours).Friendly owner. The owner does not speak English. No phone in the room (need to use the reception's phone).
The hotel staff were all very accomadating. They prepared breakfast 45 minutes early for us so we could leave in time to catch our flight. They also allowed us to check in, park our car and bring our bags in before noon on the day we arrived. The B&B is very welcoming, the breakfast was nicely arranged with good variety. We were able to walk into the heart of the city in no more than 15 minutes with our three children with us.
Gorgeous room, with plenty of space for all the family (2 adults, 3 kids). The ceiling was stunning, just what you want when in Florence. The bathroom was spacious and luxurious. The staff was very friendly, always willing to help. She reserved a table at a restaurant around the corner, which must have been quite difficult as it was Friday. Best meal we had during the holiday by the way. The breakfast was good, plenty of choices of breads, meats, cereals, cakes, fruit, coffees, teas, juices. From our room we saw the Boboli Gardens and it was a pleasant walk to the Ponte Vecchio. All in all recommendable! The only downside of this hotel is the parking garage. We managed to do damage to our rental car whilst trying to get out. The exit is very narrow and steep, not recommended for drivers in large cars that are not used to these kind of conditions. As far as I could see there was plenty of other parking in the area.
Rooms were comfortable and very spacious. Breakfast was great with large selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. No signage on the outside of the building so hard to locate initially. No safe in the room.
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, great amenities. I highly recommend it.
Very friendly staff, the rooms are completely renovated and have very good sound insulation, close to center.
New hotel, decoratively and stylishly furnished. Comfortable room. Good price. Convenient location to reach the centre even on foot.
That the owner Marco did everything to make our stay a very pleasent and nice, which we are very greatfull for. We will recommend him and his hotel to all of our friends and family. And of course others to. No not at all.
I will recommend this B&B with no doubts. It is value for money. The service was excellent and Marco -the owner- always trying to help you with doubt or problem you would have. The room perfect: good bed, no noises, good air conditioning, superb decoration and toilette. The situation very good as it is very near from central train station and the buses station. "El servicio fantastico, y la habitacion y cuarto de baño perfectos-se trata de un piso antiguo muy bien restaurado y reformado y con todas las comodidades modernas pero sin los ruidos de los nuevos hoteles-
Excellent service by the owner Marco. Really recommendable, and it´s difficult to find a cheaper place to stay in Florence. We have rented a car, and it was very expensive to park it outside the hotel. Anyway, this is nothing the hotel can do anything about.
Everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The location was great. It was a short walk to the train station. The owner was wonderful and made all our reservations and told us how to get to places we wanted to see. He provided a wonderful breakfast with fresh baked rolls that were delicious; best I have had. There are only 7 rooms and they are all beautifully decorated. He restored this bed and breakfast. I didn't know it was a bed and breakfast because I looked under hotels on your website. The owner spoke perfect English and couldn't have been more accommodating. He even gave us a bottle of wine!!!!!!!!!! The price for a room in Florence was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stayed at the Goldoni Hotel on another visit and that was nice but nothing like this! This was a delightful experience to say the least. The owner said he could not put a big sign out in front because of regulations against that for any new construction and we had a hard time finding it. There is an address and name on a plaque out in beside the door, but we didn't see that. I thing the light may have been burned out. When you enter the building, the hotel is on the second floor. We rang the bell and the owner was waiting for us.
It is the perfect place for people visiting various fairs in Florence and also for the ones who want to enjoy the city as tourists
We felt like home in this very cosy and personalised hotel. The staff was really kind and above all the receptionist who was helpful and very pleasant. They even offered me a bottle of wine for my birthday. On the first night, we had to go to another hotel since they had a pipe problem in our hotel room. The other hotel was very basic compared to B&B Marzocco.
The staff is really warm and available, the girl at the desk almost "obliged" us to follow her for 10 minutes in a synthetic/eclectic/really-useful description of main spots on the map of the town, from sightseeing to restaurants, shops and other good info. The atmosphere is warm and artistic, the room, even small, was perfect and not far from a "luxury"-like accomodation. The bathroom was almost as large as the room itself. The only weak point, I suppose, is the location. But it is not completely weak: it is 5 minutes walking from the main railway station, this is very useful. And the city center (duomo etc.) is 5 minutes walking from the same station: the weak point is that the hotel and city center are in opposite directions with respect to the station, and this total 10-minutes walking may become quite boring. Anyway this is well compensated by the low prices.
Helpful staff, great breakfast and coffee, less than 10 minute walk from train station, assistance with booking museums in advance. Room was clean and comfortable, decor a little offbeat.
The rooms were beautiful, large, clean bathroom. Also had a fridge and satellite TV with some English news channels. The staff were all very friendly and gave us a good introduction to what we should see and some restaurant recommendations One very very minor things - the toilet door didn't shut fully but was not a problem.
It may have been a small room, but there was so much thought put to it that it looked so comfortable. The toilet was so clean and my partner, with him being really particular about cleanliness, did not complain a bit about the room. Ms Diana, one of the hotel staff, made our stay much enjoyable and breakfast was just superb. If there was anything I didn't like about the stay, it could only have been not being able to stay more than a night there.
The B&B is ok, the location is perfect just less than 10 minutes walk from Firenze SMN station, and the city centre. The guys (Matteo and Alessio) are very friendly and helpfull, they share all the informations about the city.
Clean room, friendly behaviour and hospitality very poor breakfast, noisy beacuse is on a central road
Wonderful place! Very polite and helpful owners. Beautiful terrace! A really good hotel to stay even for many days.
Nice rooms Very poor breakfast
The location was pleasant. The boarding house is a penthouse on top of an apartment house in vicinity of main station and city centre. It is cosy and pleasant and Matteo and Allessio are very nice and helpful. The neighbourhood is quite noisy, even during night time (which seems to be normal for Italy). Breakfast is very poor and cannot be considered as such.
